Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Senior physics in Cuttack is rarely one exam. A Class 11 or 12 student may be writing the state council's +2 Science paper or CBSE, and may also be preparing for JEE or NEET, with school, practicals and entrance tests all pulling at the same week. What gets squeezed out is the slow part: someone reading the student's own attempt, finding the line where the method broke, and checking a fortnight later that it has not broken again. That is the job of a home physics tutor. Tell NXTutors the class, the board, the target exam and your locality, and you receive two or three physics tutors who fit, with each fee on the list. You pay nothing for the opening class.
The chapters overlap; the marking does not. Decide which paper leads this term.
| Paper | What is set | Marking | Practise each week |
|---|---|---|---|
| CHSE Odisha +2 Science physics | The council's own syllabus, listed on its site as Rationalised 2023 | Pattern not published on the council's site; check chseodisha.nic.in | Full written answers chapter by chapter, plus the practical record |
| CBSE Class 12 physics (042) | A 70-mark theory paper (33 questions, all compulsory) and a 30-mark practical | Calculators not allowed in the hall | Derivations, ray and circuit diagrams, case-based items |
| JEE Main, 2026 pattern | 25 physics questions: 20 with options, 5 with a numerical answer | +4 right, −1 wrong | Timed multi-step problems, each mistake looked at afterwards |
| NEET (UG), 2026 pattern | 45 of 180 questions, worth 180 of 720 marks, answered on paper | +4 right, −1 wrong | Accuracy at NCERT level and fewer blind guesses |
The agency that runs an entrance exam publishes its own syllabus, which may retain chapters your board has cut; look at this year's bulletin on nta.ac.in before anything is crossed off. For priorities, use our topic-by-topic JEE physics plan and the NEET physics chapters worth extra time help set priorities, and the JEE and NEET pages for Cuttack explain how we match for each.
The Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha, an autonomous body under the state's School and Mass Education Department, is the body that draws up the +2 syllabus, holds the examination and declares results. It keeps separate syllabi for Arts, Science and Commerce, and its +2 Science page lists a physics syllabus marked Rationalised 2023. The council does not set out a paper pattern on its website, so we do not describe one here.
So ask any tutor four things. Are they teaching from the current syllabus file on chseodisha.nic.in, or from a guide printed before the rationalisation? Does every lesson end with a written answer, set out in full, rather than only a solved number? Is the practical record being checked as the year goes on? And if your child is also preparing for JEE or NEET, can the tutor say which chapters the entrance syllabus keeps that the council's course may not? Our Odisha board tutors in Cuttack page covers the council's other subjects.
The 2026-27 sample paper follows the previous year's design, with the NCERT chapters falling into four groups. The largest, everything from electrostatics to alternating current, is worth 33. Optics together with electromagnetic waves brings 18; dual nature plus atoms and nuclei brings 12; semiconductors bring the final 7. Transistors and logic gates are no longer in the course, so notes that still teach them are out of date.
The 33 questions sit in five sections. Section A has sixteen one-mark items, twelve multiple-choice and four assertion–reason; B has five two-mark questions; C seven three-mark questions; D two case studies worth four each; and E three long answers worth five. Roughly 38% of the marks reward recall. Physical constants are printed on the paper and calculators stay outside. The derivations that come up year after year are gathered in our Class 12 physics strategies, and the Class 12 physics tutor page sets out a board-year plan.
More than most families expect, and it is the part that entrance practice never touches. CBSE splits the 30 as follows: 14 for two experiments, 5 for the viva, 5 for the practical record, 3 for one activity and 3 for the investigatory project. A complete record needs eight or more experiments (half from each section), six or more activities (again split evenly) and the project write-up.
The apparatus stays in the school lab. At home, a tutor can still read each record entry for aim, diagram, readings and result, talk through the precautions and likely errors, and hold a practice viva with questions such as why readings are repeated or what the slope of a graph tells you.
Plenty, as long as the lecture is not simply repeated. Three tasks suit one-to-one time:
Two of our articles compare the options: JEE preparation with coaching, a home tutor or both, and the same question for NEET.
How a student sets out a solution reveals progress sooner than marks do. Four moves, repeated on every problem, should become habit:
A separate mistakes notebook helps too. Each entry holds the problem, the original attempt untouched, one line on what went wrong, and a fresh solution written some days later. Take it, or a couple of recent test papers, to the free demo; a good tutor reads through and spots the recurring weak step before starting to teach.
Senior students often get home late, so physics lands in the evening and the tutor's route decides whether the slot lasts. Every locality has its own list on our Cuttack page.
| Locality | Setting | Address to give | Tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| CDA Sector 7 | The south of the CDA township, beside the Kathajodi ring road; senior students are a frequent reason families here look for tutors | Sector, plot number and a landmark on the ring road | One tutor per subject in Classes 11 and 12, and one evening kept for school records |
| CDA Sector 10 | The far western sectors, on the narrow land where the Mahanadi and the Kathajodi part | The sector and plot or quarter number; "Naraj side" is widely understood | A tutor from inside CDA for weekday visits, online for late doubts |
| Bidanasi | The western end of the city near the Mahanadi, with colonies such as Tareni Vihar and Satabdi Vihar | The vihar name first, then lane and a chhak | Weekend mornings for longer revision before school exams |
| Buxi Bazar | An old trading street on the cantonment side near the Barabati grounds | Lane, nearest shop sign or chhak, and the floor | The main road is busy from late afternoon, so a tutor who uses the side lanes helps |
| Chandni Chowk | A central old-city neighbourhood with Ramgarh and Dagarpada beside it | The sahi name and lane, not just the chowk | Evenings round the chowk are crowded; a tutor from the same side of the old city is steadier |
| Dolamundai | The eastern old city, where the road to Badambadi begins | The colony, such as Pithapur or Kothasahi, and a chhak on the Badambadi road | Tutors from the old city or the Bajrakabati Road side can usually reach it |
If a class runs late one evening, move that lesson online with the same tutor. The CDA and Bidanasi zone page has more on timing in the west of the city.
The start of Class 11 is usually the right moment, since mechanics rests on vectors and graphs that the whole of Class 12 keeps using. See the Class 11 physics tutor page and our stream choice guide.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own rates. Before choosing, find out which paper each tutor has taught in the last year or two (CHSE, CBSE, JEE Main, JEE Advanced or NEET), the latest evening hour they can manage, and whether a few lessons could move online. All fees are shown before the demo; our Cuttack home tuition fees guide has more.
Send the class, the board and the main aim (the board paper, JEE or NEET), the days your child already has classes, your locality with a lane and chhak, and the evenings still free. Back come two or three physics tutors and their fees; one of them gives the free demo. If it does not click, another tutor gives a second demo, and changing tutor later is free. If no suitable tutor can come at your hour, we suggest lessons online or partly online. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). Our office is in Sector 66, Gurugram, and online lessons reach every state. If you teach physics and live in Cuttack, families near you post their requests on Cuttack tuition jobs.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Physics tutors in Cuttack set their own fees. Ask which paper each has taught lately, how late they can come, and whether some lessons can move online.
A Cuttack family sends the class, board, main aim, the days already taken by classes, the locality and free evenings. We reply with two or three physics tutors and their fees, and one gives a free demo. If the fit is wrong, another tutor demos next, and changing tutor later is free.
A Cuttack student should check the CHSE +2 physics syllabus on chseodisha.nic.in, where the Science list shows a physics file marked Rationalised 2023. The council does not publish a paper pattern there, so ask any tutor whether they teach from that current file or from a guide printed before the rationalisation.
For a Cuttack student, CBSE Class 12 physics theory is 70 marks in four groups. Electrostatics through alternating current carries 33, optics with electromagnetic waves 18, dual nature with atoms and nuclei 12, and semiconductor electronics 7. Transistors and logic gates are no longer in the course, so older notes need checking.
The CBSE Class 12 physics paper has 33 compulsory questions in five sections. Section A has sixteen one-mark items, B five two-mark questions, C seven three-mark questions, D two four-mark case studies and E three five-mark long answers. Constants are printed and calculators are not allowed, so arithmetic practice still matters.
A Cuttack home tutor can help with much of the 30-mark CBSE physics practical. Two experiments carry 14 marks, the viva 5, the record 5, an activity 3 and the project 3. A tutor can check record entries, discuss precautions and sources of error, and run a practice viva, though the apparatus stays at school.
A home physics tutor adds three things that a busy entrance class rarely gives a Cuttack student. Unsolved problems are cleared at the student's own pace, board-style derivations and diagrams stay alive, and every lost test mark is sorted into a concept gap, a slip or a question to skip. The tutor should never simply repeat the lecture.
JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 set 25 physics questions, 20 with options and 5 needing a numerical answer, while NEET (UG) 2026 set 45 physics questions out of 180. Both marked +4 for a right answer and −1 for a wrong one. Cuttack students should confirm the next pattern in the current bulletin on nta.ac.in.
Families in CDA Sector 7 should share the sector, plot number and a landmark on the Kathajodi ring road. Many senior students there ask for one tutor per science subject, which usually works better than one person for all three. Keep one evening free each week for school practical records and journals.
Most Cuttack students should begin physics tuition at the start of Class 11, because mechanics depends on vectors and graphs that return throughout Class 12. Students coming from IGCSE usually need extra time on exactly those skills. Starting early leaves the board year for revision, practicals and timed papers.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
