Live one-to-one lessons with the right specialist, so a long corridor or the far side of the railway line never decides who teaches your child.

Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Vadodara is not a hard city to cross, but it is a growing one. New societies keep appearing on the western edge and in the south, the main roads fill up in the evening just as students get home, and the railway line through the middle means a tutor on one side may rarely work on the other. For most school subjects, a good tutor within an easy ride is still the simplest answer. For some students, though, the right teacher lives somewhere else: across the city, in another part of Gujarat, or in another state. This guide from the NXTutors Academic Team sets out when live one-to-one online tuition is the better choice for a Vadodara student, when it is not, how to arrange it through NXTutors, and how to make each lesson count.
| Situation | Suggested format | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Class 3 child, reading and maths | Home | Handwriting and attention need someone beside the child |
| Class 9 Gujarat Board student, maths and science | Home for maths, online for science revision | Maths working is easier to correct at the table |
| Class 10 CBSE student with a full timetable | One home session plus a short online one | Keeps the routine on the busiest weeks |
| Class 12 NEET student | Biology recall online, physics at home | Recall suits frequent short checks; physics needs the tutor watching |
| IB or IGCSE student needing a subject specialist | Online | The right specialist may live in another city |
| Repeat-year JEE student | Mostly online, with daytime slots | Daytime availability widens the choice of tutor across India |
The board pages go further: Gujarat Board, CBSE and ICSE and ISC tutors in Vadodara, and the JEE and NEET pages for entrance preparation.
The same family can make a different decision depending on where it lives. A few Vadodara examples, from our locality notes:
Each locality page lists tutors in the area first, then the zone, then the city, then tutors elsewhere who teach online. See the West Vadodara and South Vadodara zone notes, the Vadodara page and our Vadodara home tuition guide.
Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID. It is not a police or background check, so judge the teaching yourself in the demo.
For subjects with working, such as maths, physics, chemistry and accounts, the tutor must see the pen move in real time, not a photo of the answer afterwards. A workable setup:
| Item | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Laptop or tablet, not a phone | Graphs, tables and long derivations need a bigger screen |
| A phone on a stand pointing at the notebook, or a stylus tablet | The tutor sees every line as it is written |
| A shared whiteboard or document | Both can write; the page doubles as notes afterwards |
| Headset with a microphone | Household noise stays out of the lesson |
| A table in a shared room, with good light | Better focus, and a parent can see and hear |
| A back-up connection, such as a mobile hotspot | The lesson survives a dropped home connection |
Test all of it during the free demo, and fix anything the tutor cannot see clearly before the first paid lesson. Our article on online versus offline tutoring has more practical tips.
Watch the demo and the first few lessons. In a good one, your child speaks and writes more than the tutor does; mistakes are caught halfway through a step with a question, not fixed silently; both cameras stay on; the material comes from the school's tests, the board's papers or past questions rather than generic worksheets; and the lesson ends with a short written note of what was covered and what to practise. After a month, compare the school's test results and homework with how things stood before; that tells you more than any single lesson. A tutor reading slides for the whole session is giving a lecture, not tuition. More questions to ask are in our demo class checklist for parents.
Many families do not choose one format. With a tutor who can reach you some of the time, try:
Keeping the same person across both formats matters more than the format itself. Our home or online tutor comparison weighs the options.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Online takes the journey out, so some tutors quote less for it, while an experienced specialist may charge much the same either way. The class, board, subject and number of sessions a week move the figure more than the format. Fees are shown before the demo; see the pricing guide and home tuition fees in Vadodara.
Tell us the class, board, medium, subjects and the times your child is free, and choose online or either in the Mode field. We send two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo. You can also browse tutor profiles yourself. For subject detail, see our Vadodara maths, science and English pages. Tutors who teach online can find requests on Vadodara tuition jobs.
When your child needs a narrow specialist, such as IB Higher Level maths or an ISC elective, who does not live within reach; when evenings are already full; when your home is off the tutors' usual routes; or when the work suits several short sessions a week. Online lets you choose on teaching alone.
Choose Online under the search box on the home page, or type online with the subject and class. Distance stops counting, so tutors from other cities appear. Find Tutors set to online adds filters for subject, board, class, fee limit, experience, rating and tutor gender.
Yes. Choose online in the Mode field of the demo request and add your class, board and preferred times. We send two or three tutors with their fees, and the first class with the one you pick is a free lesson on screen. You and the tutor agree the video tool and how written work is shown.
Yes, if you say so in the request. Widening the search beyond your locality makes it easier to find a tutor who teaches Gujarat Board subjects in Gujarati and uses the textbook's terms. Students switching to English-medium material can ask for a tutor who bridges both languages.
A laptop or tablet rather than a phone, a headset with a microphone, and a way for the tutor to watch the notebook live: a phone on a stand pointing at the page, or a stylus tablet. Add a shared whiteboard, a table in a shared room and a mobile hotspot as back-up.
Yes. A common pattern is a weekend visit for new chapters and long written practice, with online sessions midweek for homework and doubts. Others stay at home during term and go online near exams or on heavy-rain days. Keeping the same tutor across both formats matters most.
Usually not as the main format. Up to about Class 5, reading, handwriting and early number work go most smoothly with someone beside the child. Short online sessions with a parent nearby can help with reading practice or revision, and older children can move online once study habits are steady.
Sometimes. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Some tutors quote less online because there is no journey, though experienced specialists may charge the same.
