Vadodara Home Tuition Guide: Central, North, East, West and South Vadodara
Vadodara is easiest to picture from its railway junction outwards. Sayajigunj and the old-city market streets of Raopura lie on one side of the tracks and Alkapuri on the other; Fatehgunj, Karelibaug and Sama run north; Harni, Ajwa Road and Waghodia Road spread east; Gotri, Akota and the Bhayli side fill the west; and Manjalpur, Makarpura and Tarsali make up the south. Below, zone by zone: the homes, the way in and the habits that keep a weekly class smooth.
Finding your way: the junction, the rail halts and the main roads
Most home tutors in Vadodara ride a two-wheeler, and autos and city buses cover the rest. Rail halts and main roads are the reference points people actually use when giving directions. Vadodara Junction sits in Sayajigunj on the Western Railway main line: one side opens towards the old city and the Central Bus Stand, the platform 6 side towards Alkapuri.
| Zone | Rail point or hub | Roads people name | Homes you will mostly find | Zone page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Central Vadodara | Vadodara Junction, Central Bus Stand | Station approaches, the old-city market streets | Flats in older buildings, apartment blocks, some houses | Central |
| North Vadodara | Chhayapuri station near Chhani Toll Naka | Sama-Savli Road, VIP Road, Harni Road | Two- and three-bedroom flats, villas, housing board colonies | North |
| East Vadodara | Vadodara Airport in Harni | Harni Road, Ajwa Road, Waghodia Road | Houses, gated villa and apartment communities | East |
| West Vadodara | Vishvamitri station on the main line | Gotri Road, Old Padra Road, Vasna-Bhayli Road | Apartment complexes, some villas and houses | West |
| South Vadodara | Makarpura and Pratapnagar stations | Tarsali bypass, Dabhoi Road side | Flats, villas, independent houses, new societies | South |
Central Vadodara
The busy middle around the junction, reachable from almost any direction.
- Alkapuri: mainly apartment buildings with some builder floors, houses and villas, set among offices and showrooms on the platform 6 side of the station. Commercial streets stay busy into the evening, so fix a regular slot and give the guard the tutor's name.
- Sayajigunj: often called the gateway to the city, with the junction and the Central Bus Stand. Homes are mostly flats in older buildings. Parking near the main roads is tight, so tell the tutor where a two-wheeler can stand, and give clear directions to the entrance and floor.
- Raopura: an old-city shopping locality of large and small shops, known for its clock tower and Kothi Kacheri. Use either landmark for the first visit and share a map pin. Evenings are crowded, so an earlier or weekend slot is easier.
North Vadodara
Long-settled neighbourhoods near the centre, opening into the broad apartment belt of Sama.
- Fatehgunj: next to Sayajigunj, with flats, houses and a large student population. Some tutors may still be studying themselves; for a board year, ask about experience at that level and judge them at the demo.
- Nizampura: mostly two- and three-bedroom flats between Fatehgunj and Sama. Add the tutor to the society's visitor list before the first class, and allow some flexibility while evening traffic towards Chhani settles into a pattern.
- Sama and New Sama: apartment complexes, villas and houses along Sama-Savli Road, the main artery. Register the tutor at the security desk with tower and flat number; families further along the road often prefer an earlier slot.
- Gorwa: on the north-western edge, with an industrial estate, housing board colonies and an old vegetable market. Lanes look alike, so send the block and house number and say which side of the market you live on.
- Karelibaug: one of the first neighbourhoods built outside the old city, with older houses and newer flats in New Karelibaug, close to VIP Road and Harni Road. Ask the tutor to park inside the society, since market parking is hard in the evening.
East Vadodara
Harni and two long roads that carry the city eastward, where many projects are new.
- Harni: home to Vadodara Airport, with apartments, houses, builder floors and villas, gated and standalone. Harni Road is the main way in and gets busy in the evening. Many tutors come from Karelibaug or Fatehgunj.
- Ajwa Road: residential neighbourhoods of houses and flats, with newer gated projects among them. Older houses mean doorstep access; in new projects, add the tutor's name at the gate and share the block number.
- Waghodia Road: a growth corridor of apartment projects, villa communities and studio flats, with neighbourhoods such as Bapod and Tilak Nagar. The road is long, so always send an exact map pin with the society name.
West Vadodara
Mostly gated apartment complexes, from settled Gotri to the newer stretch towards Bhayli.
- Gotri: a large suburb of two- to four-bedroom apartment complexes with established local markets. Expect a gate entry and a lift; share tower and flat number in advance, and ask about visitor parking, as internal roads are tight.
- Subhanpura: between Gotri and the Race Course area, with flats, villas and houses. Tutors can arrive from Gotri, Gorwa or Alkapuri without crossing the city. Agree where a two-wheeler can be parked.
- Akota: once a separate settlement, now a suburb mixing apartments, houses and builder floors with office space. Houses give simple doorstep access; for complexes, share the tutor's details with the gate in advance.
- Old Padra Road: a corridor of three- and four-bedroom apartment complexes beside Akota and Vasna Road. It is a busy commuting route in the evening, so a weekly slot fixed at the start keeps classes regular.
- Vasna-Bhayli Road and Bhayli: one of the newest residential stretches, with villas and plots further out. Public transport is limited along parts of the road, so a tutor with a two-wheeler from Gotri, Akota or Atladara is the practical match.
South Vadodara
Established homes in Manjalpur, industry and rail in Makarpura and Pratapnagar, and fast-growing Tarsali.
- Manjalpur: flats, villas and houses near Manjalpur Naka, Lalbaug and Navapura, with Vishvamitri the closest rail halt for much of the area. For a flat, tell the guard; for a house, a landmark and map pin are enough.
- Makarpura: homes beside the Makarpura GIDC industrial estate, with its own railway station and bus station. A tutor arriving by local train can take an auto for the last stretch. Pick a slot that avoids shift changes.
- Tarsali: a former village on the southern edge, now apartments, villas, houses and plots along the Tarsali bypass. New societies may not show clearly on maps, so send the society name with a pin.
- Pratapnagar: known for its station on the Vadodara–Chhota Udaipur line and the railway workshop beside it. Railway land divides parts of the locality, so say which side of the station or which main road you are on.
Which boards do Vadodara tutors teach?
Families can ask for tutors for the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB), which conducts the SSC and HSC examinations and also GUJCET, along with CBSE, the CISCE's ICSE and ISC, and IB or IGCSE. When you send a request, name the board, the standard and the medium your child writes in, Gujarati or English, so the shortlist matches. Board pages: Gujarat Board tutors, CBSE and ICSE and ISC.
A nearby tutor for most subjects, online for the specialist
Because the city stretches from Gorwa to Tarsali and from Bhayli to Waghodia Road, the right specialist sometimes lives on the opposite side. A common answer is a home tutor from your own zone for the main subjects and an online tutor for the one that needs a specialist, such as senior physics or an IB subject. For costs, the home tuition fees in Vadodara guide explains how to read each quote, and our home versus online comparison helps decide which subject goes where.

Frequently asked questions
Which parts of Vadodara does NXTutors cover?
NXTutors covers Vadodara through five zones, Central, North, East, West and South, grouping twenty localities from Alkapuri and Sama to Waghodia Road, Gotri and Tarsali. Home tutors are matched from nearby areas first. Online tutors from across India are available wherever a nearby specialist is hard to find, such as for senior physics or an IB subject.
How do tutors usually travel to homes in Vadodara?
Most home tutors in Vadodara travel by two-wheeler, with autos and city buses filling the gaps. Rail halts such as Vadodara Junction, Makarpura, Pratapnagar and Vishvamitri help a tutor coming from further away. Share a map pin and a landmark for the first visit, especially along long roads such as Waghodia Road and Sama-Savli Road.
What should we tell the gate before the first home class in Vadodara?
Before the first home class in Vadodara, tell security the tutor's name, the day and time, and your tower or block and flat number. Ask where visitors can park a two-wheeler. Many homes in Gotri, Sama, Old Padra Road and the Bhayli side are gated, so this small step saves a slow first arrival.
Can we find a GSEB tutor in Vadodara who teaches in Gujarati?
Yes, you can ask for a GSEB tutor in Vadodara who teaches in Gujarati by naming the board, standard and medium in your request. The shortlist reflects it where such tutors are available nearby. If none lives close enough for a weekly visit, online lessons with a GSEB tutor elsewhere in Gujarat can sit alongside a local tutor for other subjects.
Is there a fee to see tutor profiles or book a demo in Vadodara?
No, Vadodara families pay nothing to see matched tutor profiles or book the demo, since the first class with each tutor is a free demo. You receive two or three matched tutors, and each tutor's fee appears before the demo. After the demos you choose a tutor and agree a weekly slot, and switching tutor later is free.
Is a home tutor practical on Vasna-Bhayli Road?
A home tutor on Vasna-Bhayli Road and in Bhayli is practical when the tutor rides a two-wheeler from nearby Gotri, Akota or Atladara. Public transport is limited along parts of the road, and villas and plots spread further out. Send the society name with an exact map pin, and register the tutor at the gate before the first class.
