IB and IGCSE tutor jobs in Gurugram

Gurugram has one of the largest groups of international-curriculum families of any Indian city, and their tuition requests read like a syllabus index. A parent asks for IB Maths Analysis and Approaches at Higher Level, a Physics internal assessment plan, IGCSE Additional Maths or Chemistry structured questions, often naming the paper and the tier. For a tutor who knows these programmes well, few cities offer as much specific, well-defined work at home within a handful of sectors.

Who asks for ib and igcse tutors in Gurgaon

Several Gurugram schools run the IB Diploma Programme, and some also offer the Primary and Middle Years Programmes, while others teach Cambridge IGCSE, sometimes alongside CBSE or CISCE. As a neutral illustration, in alphabetical order: near DLF Phase 5 and Sector 53, Lancers International School follows the IB PYP, MYP and DP and Cambridge IGCSE; in Sector 57, Scottish High International School follows the IB PYP and DP, Cambridge IGCSE and CISCE; in DLF City Phase 1, Shiv Nadar School follows CBSE, the IB MYP and DP and Cambridge IGCSE; and in DLF City Phase 3, The Shri Ram School follows CISCE, Cambridge IGCSE and the IB DP. NXTutors has no tie-up with any school.

IB Diploma requests are mostly for maths (AA or AI, SL or HL), physics, chemistry, biology, economics and English, with help planning internal assessments and the extended essay, which must remain entirely the student's own work. Middle Years families want support with criteria-based tasks and structured writing. Specialists often teach a weekend home session with online classes in between.

IGCSE parents name the board and tier: Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel, Core or Extended, plus Additional Maths. Science students sit a practical or an alternative-to-practical paper, and families want past papers marked against the official scheme with attention to command words. Check whether the school follows Cambridge or Edexcel before you plan anything.

Where in Gurgaon the work is

Golf Course Road is the heart of this work: the DLF phases, Sushant Lok 1 and the towers in Sectors 42, 43, 53 and 54. Golf Course Extension Road, Sectors 55 to 66, close to our Sector 66 office, is the other main cluster, with large gated societies where a visitor pass and a long gate-to-tower walk are part of every visit. Office traffic along Golf Course Road and around the Rapid Metro is the real limit, so slots soon after the school bus drop or after the evening rush are easiest to keep.

Sohna Road has a growing IB and IGCSE share, and New Gurugram and the Southern Peripheral Road hold international families spread across newer societies with fewer specialists nearby. On Dwarka Expressway, families who move in mid-year may switch into an IGCSE or IB school and need catch-up. In all of these, an online or hybrid plan lets a specialist from across the city teach well.

What families in Gurgaon expect

  • Precise knowledge of the programme, subject guide or syllabus, and the current assessment structure.
  • For IB, the right course and level, and a firm line that IAs and the extended essay are the student's own work.
  • For IGCSE, the right board, tier and paper, and practice with official mark schemes.
  • Teaching to command terms such as describe, explain and evaluate.
  • Recent experience: which papers and components you have taught in the last year or two.
  • Hybrid teaching that pairs a weekend home session with online classes.
  • Short written plans after the demo: topics, frequency and how progress is checked.

How to get picked

International parents often know the mark scheme themselves, so come to the demo with a past question from the student's current topic, mark their attempt against the official criteria and show how the answer gains marks. If the request is about an IA, explain in the first ten minutes what you can and cannot do. That honesty is usually what wins the family.

Your profile should read like a list of components: 'IB Maths AA SL and HL, IB Physics SL, Cambridge IGCSE Extended Maths and Additional Maths'. Add the zones you reach at the hours you list and whether you teach online. Families see your fee before booking; see how you get paid further down this page.

Keep the family by reporting in the language they use: criteria, components and predicted bands rather than vague praise. Plan the year around the school's assessment calendar, and agree in advance how internal deadlines will be handled. A specialist who stays organised through the busy months becomes the tutor the family asks for again for a younger child.

Joining, leads and pay

Joining is free

Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.

Paid plans are optional

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.

How leads and credits work

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.

How you get paid

You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

Questions from tutors

Which IB and IGCSE subjects are asked for most in Gurugram?

IB Diploma maths (AA and AI, SL and HL), physics, chemistry, biology, economics and English, and IGCSE maths, Additional Maths and the sciences. Middle Years and Primary Years families also ask for structured writing and inquiry support.

Do I need to live near Golf Course Road?

No. Golf Course Road and Golf Course Extension Road hold many international families, but online and hybrid plans let specialists teach from anywhere. Home visits are easiest if you can reach those zones at off-peak hours.

Can I help with an internal assessment or extended essay?

You can teach the skills and discuss general approaches, but you must not write, design or edit the work. IB academic-integrity rules require it to be the student's own, and families respect a tutor who says so early.

Do families care whether I know Cambridge or Edexcel IGCSE?

Yes. The two are separate qualifications with their own specifications and papers. Ask which one the student sits, and list the one or ones you teach.

Can I mention schools on my profile?

Describe the programmes and subjects you teach rather than schools. NXTutors does not claim any link with a school, and families are matched on board, subject and level.

Is joining free for IB and IGCSE tutors?

Yes. Joining and onboarding are free, with monthly lead credits on the Free plan. Paid plans are optional and never required to apply for a tuition.
