Maths tutor jobs in Gurugram

Maths is the subject Gurugram parents ask about first and most precisely. A request rarely says just 'maths': it says CBSE Class 10 with a weak grip on trigonometry, ISC Class 12 calculus, IGCSE Additional Maths, or IB Maths Analysis and Approaches at Higher Level. If you teach mathematics and can name the exact courses and classes you are strong in, this city gives you more ways to use that than most, because several school systems sit side by side in the same society.

Who asks for maths tutors in Gurgaon

The broadest demand is CBSE, from Class 6 through Class 10, where the jump to algebra, the first proofs in geometry and the Class 10 board paper make parents look for weekly help. CBSE families here often want a tutor who works from NCERT and the board's sample papers and can explain why a step is right, since competency-based questions punish a student who has only memorised methods. Children who move into Gurugram mid-year, especially along Dwarka Expressway, frequently need a few weeks of gap-filling before regular teaching can start.

Senior maths splits by board. ISC Class 11 and 12 students need longer, carefully set-out working, and CISCE papers cover more ground per chapter than CBSE. Class 11 and 12 CBSE students are usually after calculus, vectors, probability and the parts of the syllabus that also feed JEE, and on Sohna Road in particular families often want maths support alongside a coaching institute rather than instead of it. Because Gurugram is in Haryana, a smaller number of families name HBSE, and they may ask whether you teach in Hindi or English medium.

The international side is where Gurugram stands out. IGCSE parents name the paper and the tier, Core or Extended, or ask for Additional Maths; IB Diploma parents name the course, Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation, and the level, SL or HL, and may want help planning the maths exploration, which the student must write alone. Requests like these are common on Golf Course Road and Golf Course Extension Road, and a specialist who teaches them well is worth a longer trip to the family.

Where in Gurgaon the work is

Old Gurugram, Sectors 1 to 23 and Palam Vihar, is the easiest place to build a dense maths timetable: HUDA plots and builder floors mean you go straight to the door, trips between houses are short, and parents often ask one tutor to take two siblings back to back up to Class 10. Central Gurugram, between NH-48 and Sohna Road, is reachable from most directions, and a Yellow Line rider can finish from Millennium City Centre by auto; Classes 11 and 12 there often want a separate maths specialist.

The gated belts, Golf Course Extension Road (Sectors 55 to 66), the Southern Peripheral Road, New Gurugram and Dwarka Expressway, have fewer tutors living inside them, so a maths tutor willing to travel there for one fixed weekly slot, with online classes in between, fills a real gap. Leave out any sector you would have to reach by crossing Sohna Road or MG Road in the evening rush; a maths tutor who arrives late in week three loses the family.

What families in Gurgaon expect

  • Exact courses on your profile: 'CBSE Classes 8 to 10, ISC Class 11 and 12, IGCSE Extended and Additional Maths', not 'maths, all classes'.
  • Comfort with the board's own material: NCERT and sample papers for CBSE, specimen papers for ICSE and ISC, past papers and mark schemes for IGCSE, the subject guide for IB.
  • Working shown in full, line by line, so a parent looking over the notebook can see method and not just answers.
  • A clear plan after the first class: which chapters, how often, and how progress will be checked before school tests.
  • For IB, knowing that the exploration is the student's own work: you teach the skills, you never write or rewrite it.
  • A steady slot in exam months; parents in board years dislike a maths class that moves every week.
  • For younger classes, patience with basics such as fractions and negative numbers before speeding up.

How to get picked

The demo decides almost everything. Ask the parent beforehand which chapter the student is on and bring two or three questions at the right level: one to check the basics, one to teach, one to set as homework. In a Golf Course Extension Road society, allow ten minutes from gate to tower and ask to be pre-approved on the visitor app, so the first maths lesson starts on time.

On your profile, list boards and classes as pairs, add the zones you can reach at the hours you list, and say whether you teach home, online or both. In New Gurugram and on the Southern Peripheral Road, saying yes to a hybrid plan widens what you are matched to. Set a fee you are comfortable keeping for a full school year; families see it before they book, and see how you get paid before you start.

Joining, leads and pay

Joining is free

Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.

Paid plans are optional

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.

How leads and credits work

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.

How you get paid

You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

Questions from tutors

Which maths courses are Gurugram families asking for?

Mostly CBSE Classes 6 to 12, then ICSE and ISC, with a strong international share: IGCSE Core, Extended and Additional Maths, and IB Diploma Maths in both Analysis and Approaches and Applications and Interpretation, at SL and HL. A smaller number name HBSE, Haryana's state board. List only the courses you actually teach.

Can I teach maths online to Gurugram students from another city?

Yes. Online requests are matched on board, class and subject, not on your address, so an IB or IGCSE maths specialist elsewhere in India can teach Gurugram students online. Families in New Gurugram and on the Southern Peripheral Road are often open to online or hybrid maths classes because fewer tutors live nearby.

Do I need JEE experience to get Class 11 and 12 maths students here?

No, but say clearly what you do. Many Class 11 and 12 families want board maths only; others, especially in the Sohna Road sectors, want a tutor who supports JEE preparation alongside coaching. If you teach both, list both; if you teach only the board syllabus, say so and you will be matched accordingly.

How do I handle an IB maths exploration request?

Explain in the first conversation that the exploration must be the student's own work. You can teach how to choose a workable topic, how to present mathematics clearly and how the criteria are applied, but you must not write, rewrite or edit sections. Parents usually welcome a tutor who sets that line early.

Which Gurugram zones are easiest for a maths tutor to start in?

Old Gurugram and Central Gurugram, where homes are close together and many families are reachable from one base. If you can keep a weekly slot further out, Golf Course Extension Road, New Gurugram and Dwarka Expressway have families who struggle to find a maths tutor nearby.

Is joining free, and do I set my own maths fee?

Joining is free and onboarding is free; you start on the Free plan with monthly lead credits, and paid plans are optional. You choose your own fee, which families see before the free demo. The fee and payout details are explained further down this page.
