What home tuition costs in Guntur

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

JEE home tutor in Guntur: board chapters and entrance problems, planned week by week

In Guntur, JEE preparation almost never happens on its own. It runs beside a school-leaving course, which for state-syllabus families means the two Intermediate years under the Andhra Pradesh board, and for others means CBSE Classes 11 and 12. The written board papers and the objective entrance test reward different habits, and a student who serves only one of them pays for it in the other. A home tutor's real job is to hold both in one weekly plan. This page explains how to set that up in Guntur: which board chapters carry the most marks, where the entrance syllabus pulls away from them, how to find a slot that survives a long college day, and what to check in the demo. For the exam as a whole, read the national JEE home tutor page.

JEE Main, JEE Advanced and the state route

The two national papers, as their 2026 documents described them
PointJEE (Main) Paper 1JEE (Advanced)
Who sets itThe National Testing AgencyA separate brochure on jeeadv.ac.in sets the rules
ShapeComputer-based; 25 questions in each of maths, physics and chemistry, 20 multiple-choice and 5 numerical; 75 questions, 300 marksTwo compulsory papers
MarkingFour for a correct response, minus one for a wrong one, in both sectionsAs set out in that year's brochure
AttemptsTwo sessions a year; the better score countsAt most two attempts, in consecutive years
Language13 languages in the 2026 bulletinEnglish and Hindi

Eligibility for Advanced comes through Main, under rules printed in each year's brochure. Andhra Pradesh also has its own route: the state's official entrance portal, cets.apsche.ap.gov.in, lists AP EAPCET, the Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test, with engineering admissions handled under the MPC stream. Take its syllabus, pattern and dates only from that portal. For JEE, the NTA's site jeemain.nta.nic.in and the Advanced site jeeadv.ac.in are the only sources to trust. Patterns change; summaries, this one included, can fall out of date.

What the second-year maths blueprint tells a JEE tutor

From IPE 2027 the Intermediate board sets one second-year Mathematics paper: three hours, 100 marks, with 12 one-mark and 10 two-mark questions to answer in full, then any seven of the four-mark questions and any five of the eight-mark ones. Its blueprint lists thirteen topics and the marks offered on each, choices included.

Marks offered per topic, second-year Mathematics blueprint, bie.ap.gov.in
Marks offeredTopics
23Integrals, the only topic with two eight-mark questions
15 eachDeterminants, vector algebra, probability
10 to 11Application of derivatives, differential equations, three-dimensional geometry
5 to 7Relations and functions, matrices, continuity and differentiability, inverse trigonometric functions, application of integrals, linear programming

For a JEE student this is useful twice over. Integration, vectors, three-dimensional geometry and probability are heavy in the board paper and they are also entrance staples, so time spent there pays on both sides. The board, though, wants each eight-mark answer laid out line by line, while the entrance paper wants the same idea reached in a fraction of the time with no working seen. A tutor should practise both forms of the same chapter in the same week, not save the written form for the last month.

Chemistry: where the board marks sit, and what not to drop

The second-year Chemistry blueprint for IPE 2027 offers 109 marks across ten units, of which a student answers 85. Chemical kinetics, coordination compounds and the aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids unit carry 15 each, with electrochemistry at 13. At the light end, d- and f-block elements carry 8, and haloalkanes and amines 7 each.

That weighting is a sound guide for board revision. It is a poor guide for entrance preparation, because the NTA syllabus is a separate document with its own balance. A Guntur student who skims the d- and f-block chapter because the board offers only eight marks on it may find it matters far more in the objective paper. Ask the tutor to keep a short sheet of chapters that are light in the board paper but still on the entrance syllabus, and to revise them on a schedule of their own. The JEE chemistry plan sets out how physical, organic and inorganic work differ.

What a JEE tutor should do in a Guntur week

  • Clear the backlog. The student brings the problems from college or class sheets that would not come out. The tutor asks what was tried before showing anything, so the student learns where the method broke.
  • Sort the lost marks. After every test, each lost mark goes into one of four boxes: idea not understood, arithmetic slip, question misread, or a guess that cost a mark. Negative marking makes the last box expensive.
  • One board answer a week. A full eight-mark answer in maths, physics or chemistry, written and marked against the model paper, keeps the Intermediate habit alive.
  • Hold the weakest subject steady. Regular sessions in one lagging subject usually do more than thin help spread over all three.

If your child also attends a coaching class, the tutor's role narrows further: no second course, only the problems and the board work the class has no time for. Our guide to coaching versus a home tutor uses a different city as its example; the same split of duties applies in Guntur.

English version or Telugu version?

The Intermediate board lists its first-year model papers in E.M. and T.M. versions, English medium and Telugu medium. Plenty of Guntur students talk through physics in Telugu and write in English, and some switch versions between Class 10 and the first year. For JEE, settle the language of the entrance paper in the first year, using the list in the current bulletin, and keep the technical terms consistent with it. A tutor can explain in whichever language works, but written practice should use the terms of the actual paper. If your child is moving from Telugu-version study into English, a bilingual glossary built chapter by chapter in the first term saves trouble later.

Slots that survive a long college day

Tutor slots that tend to last for Guntur JEE students
SlotGood forNote
Early morning, before collegeA focused home session in the weakest subjectA tutor from your own zone makes this realistic
Sunday morningA timed practice paper, reviewed the same afternoonThe roads around the bus stand side are calmer early
Late eveningA short online doubt session while the day's problems are freshNo travel after dark for anyone
College test weeksReview only, no new chaptersStops the tutor's plan clashing with the college's

Lay the college timetable and any class timetable side by side and look for the gap that never moves. That gap, not the tutor's convenience, should fix the slot. Keep one evening a week free of all tuition so there is time to revise alone.

How JEE tutors reach six Guntur localities

Getting a JEE tutor to your door
LocalityWhat helps the tutor
Vidya NagarMuch of the housing is in apartment buildings: send the building name, block and flat number
GujjanagundlaThe Gujjanagundla bus stop and Palakaluru Road are the reference points tutors know
NallapaduNewer layouts may not show on map apps: give the layout name, plot number and the road it opens off
Syamala NagarMention both spellings, Syamala and Shyamala Nagar, and whether to look for a gate or an entrance
KothapetBusy near NTR Circle through the day; an early-evening or weekend-morning slot is easier
SangadiguntaName Etukuru Road and say which side of Kothapet or Lalapet you live on

The zone pages for Vidya Nagar and Navabharath Nagar, Nallapadu and Syamala Nagar and Kothapet and Old Guntur say more, every locality is on the Guntur home tutors page, and our Guntur home tuition guide covers all six zones.

Home or online, subject by subject

A split that works for many Guntur JEE students
SubjectUsual formatWhy
PhysicsMostly in personErrors start when the student picks the law to apply; a tutor beside the notebook sees that moment
MathematicsIn person for new work; reviews of a finished test on screenIntegration and vector problems run to pages of working
ChemistryOn screen for organic and inorganic recall; in person if numericals in kinetics or electrochemistry lagTen-minute recall checks fit easily into an online slot

For the harder end of the entrance syllabus, the right specialist may teach online from Vijayawada or another city, and that is often worth more than a short trip. Point a camera at the notebook or use a writing tablet so every line is visible. See online tutors for Guntur.

First year, second year and a repeat year

First year

Class 10 habits stop working quickly: vectors, motion in two dimensions, limits and stoichiometry all arrive within the first term. Keep an error notebook from week one. A first-year chapter left weak returns in the second year, just when the board and the entrance test land together.

Second year

The public examination, first-year revision, fresh chapters and mock papers all want the same months. In June, ask the tutor for a written calendar that reserves weeks for eight-mark board answers and for the practical record book.

A repeat year

Go through last year's scorecards and papers chapter by chapter and rebuild the weakest ones first. With college over, morning and afternoon sessions open up, so more tutors can fit. Read the attempt and eligibility rules in this year's bulletin and brochure before deciding.

Our topic plans for maths and physics, and the JEE physics tutor page, go into subject detail. The AP Board tutors in Guntur page covers the Intermediate papers, and our Guntur maths, physics and chemistry pages cover school work.

What to check in the JEE demo

  1. Before any teaching, did the tutor ask which board your child is on, how long the college day runs and how the last test went?
  2. Hand over two or three problems that defeated your child. Watch whether the tutor diagnoses the stuck step and then lets your child complete the solution.
  3. Ask which topics carry the most marks in this year's second-year maths blueprint. A prepared tutor answers without looking it up.
  4. Ask how negative marking should change the way your child treats a doubtful question.
  5. Confirm the weekly slot and the route from the tutor's home to yours.

A poor fit costs nothing: we set up another demo, and switching tutor later is free. For more pointers, see our checklist for parents at a demo class.

JEE Home Tutor in Guntur: common questions

What does a JEE home tutor in Guntur charge for an Intermediate student?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each Guntur JEE tutor sets their own fee, and you see it before the demo, so you can weigh cost and fit side by side.

How do we start JEE tuition in Guntur through NXTutors?

Send the class, board, subjects, college timetable and locality, and we reply with two or three matched JEE tutors in Guntur. Each fee is shown before the first class, which is a free demo. If the fit stops working later in the year, switching tutor is free.

Which second-year maths topics carry the most marks for Guntur Intermediate students?

Integrals carry the most, with 23 marks offered in the second-year Mathematics blueprint for IPE 2027 on bie.ap.gov.in. Determinants, vector algebra and probability follow at 15 each. Most of these are entrance staples too, so a Guntur JEE tutor can practise the full written answer and the quick objective form in the same week.

Should a Guntur JEE student skip chemistry chapters the Intermediate board weights lightly?

No, a Guntur JEE student should not skip a chapter only because the board weights it lightly. The second-year Chemistry blueprint offers just 8 marks on d- and f-block elements, but the NTA syllabus is a separate document with its own balance. Keep a list of such chapters and revise them on a schedule of their own.

How was JEE Main Paper 1 set and marked for Guntur candidates in 2026?

JEE Main Paper 1 in 2026 was a computer-based test of 75 questions and 300 marks across maths, physics and chemistry. Each subject had 20 multiple-choice and 5 numerical questions. A correct response earned four marks and a wrong one cost a mark, so Guntur students need guessing discipline as well as speed.

Is AP EAPCET separate from JEE for Guntur engineering aspirants?

Yes, AP EAPCET is the state's own Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test, separate from the NTA's JEE. Its official portal, cets.apsche.ap.gov.in, lists it with engineering admissions under the MPC stream. Guntur families should take its syllabus, pattern and dates only from that portal, not from summaries.

Can a Guntur student prepare for JEE after studying in the Telugu version?

Yes, a Guntur student can move from Telugu-version study to JEE preparation with a planned bilingual start. The Intermediate board lists model papers in English-medium and Telugu-medium versions. The tutor builds a glossary of technical terms chapter by chapter, and the entrance paper language is chosen early from the current bulletin's list.

Which tuition slots survive a long Guntur college day for a JEE student?

In most Guntur homes the slot that lasts is early morning before college or Sunday morning, when a practice paper can be set and reviewed. Late evenings suit a short online doubt session. Lay the college and class timetables side by side, and keep new chapters out of college test weeks.

How do JEE tutors reach Nallapadu, Gujjanagundla or Kothapet in Guntur?

Tutors reach Gujjanagundla by Palakaluru Road and the Gujjanagundla bus stop, and Kothapet via NTR Circle, ideally at an early-evening or weekend-morning slot. In newer Nallapadu layouts, send the layout name, plot number and the road it opens off, because map apps may not show new streets.

Is JEE physics worth a home visit for a Guntur student, or can it go online?

JEE physics is usually worth a home visit for a Guntur student, because errors start when the student picks which law to apply. Maths suits home sessions with online test reviews, and chemistry recall works well on screen. A specialist teaching online from another city can take on the hardest problems.
