Guntur Home Tuition Guide: Brodipet, Lakshmipuram, Pattabhipuram, Vidya Nagar, Nallapadu and Old Guntur

By NXTutors Academic Team 11 min read

Guntur's homes fall into six broad groups that tutors and families both recognise. Brodipet and Arundelpet form the central core of New Guntur; Lakshmipuram and Koritepadu sit along Lakshmipuram Road; Brindavan Gardens and Pattabhipuram are the suburbs that grew after independence; Vidya Nagar and Navabharath Nagar line the Palakaluru Road side; Nallapadu and Syamala Nagar lie to the south-west on State Highway 2; and Kothapet and Old Guntur make up the older, busier part of the city near the main bus station. This guide walks through all twenty localities, one at a time.

Reference points a Guntur tutor will know

Most tutors travel by two-wheeler or auto, so one familiar reference point saves more time than a long postal address. Guntur Junction is the main railway station, and its rear entrance, known as terminal 2, opens on the Arundelpet side. Nallapadu and New Guntur are the city's other main stations. The main bus station, with a minibus station beside it, serves the state's buses. Grand Trunk Road, Lakshmipuram Road, Pattabhipuram Road and Palakaluru Road are the arterial roads, and the Guntur–Amaravathi Road starts at Brodipet.

Brodipet & Arundelpet

The central core of New Guntur, where shops, offices and homes share the same streets. Addresses follow numbered lanes, lines and cross roads, so a home is quick to find once the tutor has the numbers. Because the four localities border one another, a tutor living in one can usually take classes in the others.

Brodipet: apartment blocks and older family homes, with shops along the main road. Lead with the lane and cross, for example "fourth lane, thirteenth cross", then the door number. Classes 9 and 10 students here often want practice from the board's model papers, and a slot soon after school tends to hold better than a late one.

Arundelpet: laid out in numbered lines, with many homes above or behind shops. Send the line number, door number and building name, and say whether the way in is from the front road or a side lane. Weekend mornings often suit Intermediate students whose weekdays run long.

Nagarampalem: quieter residential streets of houses and small apartment buildings close to Brodipet and Chuttugunta. Give the street, the nearest circle or junction and a phone number in case the gate is locked. Families of younger children here often look for help with reading and early maths.

Chuttugunta: known for its circle and Chuttugunta Road, with offices close by. Many parents keep office hours, so early mornings, late evenings and weekends are the usual slots. Ask for a short written note after each class when no adult is home during the lesson.

Lakshmipuram & Koritepadu

This group sits on the side of the centre served by Lakshmipuram Road. Lakshmipuram is one of the city's main commercial and residential areas, while Koritepadu and Vinayak Nagar are calmer colonies of independent houses. The three are close enough that one tutor can cover all of them.

Lakshmipuram: apartment buildings beside older houses. For a flat, send the apartment name, block, floor and flat number, and tell the watchman a tutor is expected. Classes 6 to 8 are a common point to bring in help, when algebra and science need more practice than school periods allow.

Koritepadu: mostly independent houses on quiet streets. Homes often have two school-going children, and one tutor can teach both in the same visit. Give both classes and boards in the request, and agree how long each child gets.

Vinayak Nagar: a residential colony near Koritepadu where streets can look alike. Share the road or cross number, a gate colour and a pin location. Class 10 families here often want timed practice and regular short tests in the months before the SSC papers.

Brindavan Gardens & Pattabhipuram

These suburbs formed as New Guntur spread out after independence, and apartment buildings are common, mixed with family houses. Pattabhipuram runs along Pattabhipuram Road. Many households here have a student in Intermediate, so board subjects and entrance preparation often share the week.

Brindavan Gardens: flats are common, so the block, floor and flat number matter as much as the street. Second Year students preparing for JEE Main alongside their board papers usually do better with at least one tuition-free evening a week.

Pattabhipuram: apartment blocks and houses along an arterial road. Say whether the building entrance faces Pattabhipuram Road or a side road. Students aiming for NEET (UG) sometimes have one tutor for biology and another for physics or chemistry, so a shared weekly sheet keeps both in step.

Chandramouli Nagar: described by residents as green, with wide roads. Parents of Classes 3 to 5 often ask for help with English reading, handwriting and school languages. Short, regular weekday classes suit this age better than a long weekend session.

Vidya Nagar & Navabharath Nagar

A residential belt on the Palakaluru Road side, with apartments, houses and flats. Palakaluru Road and the Gujjanagundla bus stop are the easiest reference points for a tutor coming from elsewhere. Families here switch between the State syllabus and CBSE more often than they expect.

Vidya Nagar (also spelt Vidyanagar): apartment buildings make up much of the housing. Give the tower or block, the floor and the gate visitors use. If your child has just changed board, keep the old and new textbooks side by side for the first few lessons.

Navabharath Nagar (often written Navbharat Nagar): houses and apartment buildings side by side. Mention both spellings in your request. The move from Class 10 into Intermediate First Year is the moment many families here look for support, and the board's Ethics and Human Values and Environmental Education papers are worth raising at the demo.

Vikas Nagar: houses and apartments near Vidya Nagar. Share a pin location with the house or flat number before the first day. Some families here begin online and add home visits later, or the reverse as exams approach.

Gujjanagundla: built around its bus stop, with apartments and houses near Palakaluru Road. Tell the tutor which side of the bus stop you live on. Older students here often want a tutor two or three times a week mainly for doubts and test practice.

Nallapadu & Syamala Nagar

The south-west side of the city. Nallapadu joined the Guntur Municipal Corporation in 2012, when ten surrounding villages were merged into the city, so older streets now sit beside newer layouts. New streets do not always show on map apps, which makes clear directions more important here than in the centre.

Nallapadu: on State Highway 2, with one of the city's main railway stations. In a newer layout, give the layout or venture name, the plot number and the road it opens off. Agree in advance whether a short online class can replace a visit on a day of heavy rain.

Syamala Nagar (also Shyamala Nagar): houses and apartment buildings on the same streets, so say whether to look for a gate or a building entrance. Class 10 students here often want written practice in Social Studies and Physical Science, using the board's weightage tables.

AT Agraharam (sometimes A.T. Agraharam): a residential locality with apartments and houses, close to Syamala Nagar and Pattabhipuram. Primary families often want weekday homework help, sometimes from a tutor who can explain in Telugu while the written work stays in English.

Kothapet & Old Guntur

The older and busier part of the city, close to the main bus station, so roads stay busy through the day. Residents describe Old Guntur as the area from which the rest of Guntur gradually spread. Joint families are common in the older lanes.

Kothapet (also Kotapet or Kothapeta): family houses and flats above shops. Give the building name and floor, and plan classes for early evening or weekend mornings. Classes 8 to 10 maths, English and Hindi are frequent requests.

Old Guntur: narrow lanes where house numbers can be hard to spot, so send a pin location and a known shop or junction. In a joint household, agree one contact adult and a quiet corner for the lesson at the start.

Sangadigunta: a quieter residential area beside Kothapet and Etukuru Road. Name the closest main road and which side of Kothapet you are on. In a board-exam year, ask the tutor for a revision timetable from the first term, with mock tests at fixed points.

Boards and subjects in Guntur

Guntur students mainly follow the State syllabus or CBSE. On the State syllabus, the Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh (bse.ap.gov.in) conducts the SSC Public Examinations for Class 10, and the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (bie.ap.gov.in) runs the two Intermediate years, with general and vocational courses. JEE Main and NEET (UG) are conducted by the National Testing Agency.

Home, online or both

A tutor at the table suits younger children and students who need company to settle; an online class suits a specialist across the city, a late slot or a rainy day. An online tutor for Guntur students can join a home plan at any stage. For planning the money side, from the first weeks through pauses and endings, read home tuition fees in Guntur, and for the wider comparison, home tutor or online tutor.

Frequently asked questions

Which parts of Guntur does this home tuition guide cover?

This guide covers twenty Guntur localities grouped into six zones: Brodipet & Arundelpet, Lakshmipuram & Koritepadu, Brindavan Gardens & Pattabhipuram, Vidya Nagar & Navabharath Nagar, Nallapadu & Syamala Nagar, and Kothapet & Old Guntur. Every locality links to its own page, with practical notes on directions, homes and timing, and the tutors we can suggest there.

What reference point should we give a tutor in Guntur?

Give a Guntur tutor one reference point everyone knows, such as Guntur Junction, Chuttugunta circle or the Gujjanagundla bus stop. Add the lane, line or cross number and the door or flat number. In the newer layouts of Nallapadu and nearby areas, a shared pin location saves the tutor a search on the first visit.

Can one tutor teach two children in the same Guntur home?

Yes, one tutor can often teach two children in the same Guntur home, one after the other in a single visit. Put both classes and boards in your request, agree how long each child gets, and keep a separate record of hours for each. A quiet table away from the television helps both children settle.

Can we find a State syllabus tutor for Intermediate in Guntur?

Yes, NXTutors can find Intermediate tutors in Guntur when you mention BIEAP, First or Second Year, and the subjects. We shortlist the nearest tutors who teach that stage, and suggest online tutors who know the Andhra Pradesh syllabus when nobody suitable lives close by. Ask at the demo whether they can also guide the Ethics and Human Values and Environmental Education papers.

What if no home tutor lives near our colony in Guntur?

If no home tutor lives near your Guntur colony, NXTutors widens the search: your zone, then the city, then online tutors across India. Many families keep a nearby tutor for one subject and an online specialist for another. Either way, the first class with each tutor is a free demo.

Which time of day suits home tuition in Guntur?

The time that suits home tuition in Guntur depends on your zone and on when your child's school or Intermediate day ends. Near Kothapet and the bus station, early evenings and weekend mornings run more smoothly. Where parents keep office hours, such as around Chuttugunta, early mornings and weekends are common, and an online class can cover a late slot.
