What home tuition costs in Guntur

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Maths home tutor in Guntur: start from the paper your child will write, then find someone who can reach your lane

Ask three Guntur parents what maths help they want and you may hear about three different papers. One child is in Class 9 on the State syllabus, with the SSC public examination coming into view. Another sits in a CBSE classroom, torn between Standard and Basic. A third has just begun Intermediate First Year and already hears talk of engineering entrance. A tutor who suits one of them may not suit the next, because each paper comes from a different body and rewards different habits on the page. Give NXTutors the class, the board and your part of the city, and we come back with two or three maths tutors who match all of it. Each fee sits on the shortlist before any meeting, and your first class is a free demo.

Who sets your child's maths paper, and what should a tutor be asked first?

Two named authors are responsible for the exam guidance on this page: Ajay Vatsyayan for the IB, IGCSE and ISC parts, and Abhinandan Tiwary for CBSE and ICSE maths in Class 10. Anything about the Andhra Pradesh boards is limited to what their own websites show. Find the row for your child; the final column is a good question for the first phone call with any tutor.

What should a State-syllabus family expect from a maths tutor before SSC?

At the end of Class 10, the Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh conducts the SSC public examinations, and it also runs OSSC and vocational SSC examinations. The board revises its own scheme, so we do not describe its paper here. What it does put on bse.ap.gov.in is worth more to a tutor than any guide book: model question papers, blueprints and weightage tables, among them a set for the SSC Public Examination 2027. Anyone teaching a State-syllabus child in Guntur should be working from those files and the school's own textbook.

  • Weightage over page order. Ask the tutor to show which chapters the weightage table favours and how many weeks each will get. The heavier chapters deserve more time, whatever their place in the book.
  • Model papers as rehearsal. From Class 9, a timed section from a model paper every fortnight, marked before the tutor leaves, makes the board format familiar well before Class 10.
  • Talk in Telugu, write in the paper's language. A child who grasps a method faster in Telugu can hear it explained that way, but the written steps should use the textbook's English terms if the paper is written in English.
  • Working an examiner can follow. Line-by-line solutions earn credit more reliably than mental shortcuts, and they let a parent see at a glance where things slipped.

Other SSC and Intermediate subjects are covered on our AP board tutors in Guntur page.

What if maths needs another SSC attempt?

The board also holds SSC Advanced Supplementary Examinations for students who want another try at a subject, publishing school-wise results and offering re-verification or recounting. Preparing for that sitting is a different job. Time is short and the weak spots are usually clear already. Ask for a diagnostic test in the very first session, a written list of the chapters that cost the most last time, and timed questions from the board's model papers each week. Hall tickets and timetables should come only from the board's own site.

How is CBSE Class 10 maths built for 2026-27?

Fourteen NCERT chapters, grouped into seven units, share the 80 board marks, and the design is the same as last session's. Planning by marks, not by the order of the textbook, gives a year shaped roughly like this:

CBSE Class 10 maths, 2026-27: board marks per unit and a habit a Guntur tutor should build for each
UnitMarksHabit
Algebra (polynomials, pairs of linear equations, quadratics, progressions)20State the unknown in words before writing any symbol
Geometry15A reason beside each line of a proof
Trigonometry, including heights and distances12A clear figure drawn before choosing a ratio
Statistics and probability11Every column of the grouped table checked first
Mensuration10Units written at each step when solids are combined
Real numbers; coordinate geometry6 eachShort questions finished in full, never hurried

The question paper moves from Section A to Section E. It opens with twenty one-mark items, eighteen of them multiple-choice and two of the assertion–reason kind; then follow five questions of two marks, six of three, four long answers of five, and finally three case-based questions carrying four marks apiece. No calculator is permitted, and π = 22/7 wherever a question is silent. Both levels share the chapters, not the difficulty: around 54% of the Standard paper rewards remembering and understanding, against nearer 75% of Basic. Any child who might want maths after Class 10 should therefore be entered for Standard. CBSE also gives Class 10 students an optional second sitting to raise their marks in as many as three subjects, maths included; trust only cbse.gov.in for its dates. Read the Class 10 maths preparation guide and the board-year planner, or see our Class 10 maths tutor page.

Intermediate, CBSE Class 12 and entrance maths: where does a home tutor fit?

Most State-syllabus students in Guntur continue into Intermediate, the two-year stage of the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh, which holds a public examination at the close of each year. Since First Year is examined too, it is not a warm-up; a shaky first year leaves less room in the second. A home tutor earns a place by doing three specific things that a crowded college week tends to squeeze out:

  1. Clearing the backlog. Sheet problems your child skipped, copied or lost marks on are worked again at an unhurried pace, until each step can be said out loud.
  2. Protecting the written board answer. Entrance drills reward speed, but the board still pays for complete working, so one session a week goes on answers written out in full.
  3. Reading every test properly. Lost marks are tagged as a gap in the idea, a careless slip or a question misread, and that tally decides the coming week.

CBSE Class 12 is different again: all 38 questions must be attempted for the 80 board marks, and calculus accounts for 35 of them. In the 2026 JEE Main Paper 1, maths was 25 questions, twenty offering options and five asking for a numerical value; a correct answer scored four and an incorrect one lost a mark. NTA republishes the pattern each year at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Intermediate students should read their scheme on bie.ap.gov.in, and anyone also preparing for the state's engineering entrance should rely only on that exam's official site. See the Class 12 calculus and algebra guide, the Class 12 maths tutor page and our JEE home tutor in Guntur page.

ICSE, ISC, IB and IGCSE maths in brief

ICSE Class 10
A written CISCE paper worth 80 is joined by 20 marks of internal work. Examiners want to follow the reasoning, so clear working counts as much as the final figure.
ISC Class 12
Candidates in 2027 and 2028 face a single 80-mark paper across seven units. Sections B and C are no longer alternatives, so every student now studies vectors, 3D geometry, linear programming and probability. Calculus is worth 35 marks on its own, and two projects bring another 20, each marked out of 10 across format, content, findings and a viva. Our ICSE and ISC maths guide has more.
IB Diploma
AA is built around algebra, functions, calculus and proof, and one of its papers is sat without a calculator. AI gives more weight to modelling and statistics, with a graphic display calculator in every paper. At SL two papers count 40% each; at HL two count 30% and a third 20%. At either level the last 20% is the exploration, a piece the student must write alone. The IB maths AA or AI guide helps with the choice.
Cambridge IGCSE
A Core entry can reach a C at most, while Extended opens the scale from A* down to G, so decide the tier with the school early.

Fewer tutors teach these courses than the State syllabus or CBSE, so mention the course in your first message. When no specialist can come to the house, one can teach online while a nearby tutor checks written practice.

What should you settle before the first maths class in six Guntur localities?

Central Guntur is compact, and its older parts are addressed by numbered lanes, lines and cross roads, so a home is quick to find once the tutor has those numbers. Tutors mostly arrive by two-wheeler, auto or city bus. You can compare tutors area by area on our Guntur home tuition page.

How can one free demo tell you if a maths tutor is right?

Request a lesson on whatever chapter the school is teaching this week, rather than a polished favourite, and leave the latest test paper or homework book within reach. Four signs are worth watching for:

  • Looking before talking. The tutor reads some of your child's earlier answers before teaching anything.
  • Mistakes given names. A dropped sign, a misread question and a gap in the idea are told apart, and each gets its own remedy.
  • Board-shaped working. Solutions are set out the way BSEAP, BIEAP, CBSE or CISCE examiners expect.
  • A clear next step. By the end you know the coming three topics and which homework will be checked.

If it does not feel right, let us know and another shortlisted tutor gives a demo; a later change is free too. The demo class checklist for parents has more to look for, the home or online tutor article helps when the right teacher lives across the city, and our online tuition in Guntur page shows how remote lessons run.

What does a maths home tutor in Guntur charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors fix their own rates. While comparing, ask which board and class each person has taught lately, how many visits a week they recommend, and whether a shorter online class could stand in for a visit during exams. Fees are visible before the demo, and our Guntur home tuition fees guide suggests further questions.

What should you tell us when asking for a maths tutor?

Send five things: the class; the course in full (AP board SSC, Intermediate First or Second Year, CBSE Standard or Basic, ICSE, ISC, IB or IGCSE); your locality with a lane number or landmark; the days and hours left free by school or college; and a rough budget. A shortlist of two or three maths tutors comes back with fees, and you invite one to a free demo. When nobody suitable can reach your part of Guntur at that time, we propose an online or mixed arrangement. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). Our office is in Sector 66, Gurugram, and we teach online across India. The national maths home tutor page explains our matching, and families elsewhere in Andhra Pradesh can look at maths tutors in Vijayawada or in Visakhapatnam. Maths Home Tutor in Guntur: common questions

What should Guntur parents compare when a maths tutor quotes a fee?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Guntur maths tutors set their own rates, so ask which board and class each taught lately, how many visits a week they advise, and whether an online class can replace a visit in exam weeks.

What details does NXTutors need to suggest a maths tutor in Guntur?

NXTutors needs your child's class, the full course name, your Guntur locality with a lane number or landmark, the free hours around school or college, and a budget. We then send two or three matched maths tutors with fees shown before any meeting. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.

How should a Guntur tutor use the BSEAP model papers and blueprints for SSC maths?

A Guntur tutor should plan the SSC maths year from the model question papers, blueprints and weightage tables that BSEAP publishes, including a set for the 2027 examination. Heavier chapters get more weeks, and from Class 9 a timed model-paper section every fortnight makes the board format familiar long before the final year.

Can a maths tutor in Guntur help with the SSC Advanced Supplementary Examination?

Yes, a maths tutor in Guntur can prepare a student for the SSC Advanced Supplementary Examination that BSEAP holds for another attempt at a subject. The work is short and focused: a diagnostic test first, a list of chapters that lost the most marks, and timed model-paper questions every week. Take dates only from bse.ap.gov.in.

Why does Intermediate First Year maths matter for a Guntur student?

Intermediate First Year maths matters because BIEAP holds a public examination at the end of each of the two years, so First Year is not a practice round. A Guntur student who lets it slide has less room in Second Year. A home tutor can clear the backlog of sheet problems and keep written answers complete.

Should a Guntur Class 10 student on CBSE choose Standard or Basic maths?

A Guntur Class 10 student who might take maths after Class 10 should choose CBSE Standard. Both levels cover the same chapters for 80 board marks, but about 54% of Standard marks test remembering and understanding, against about 75% in Basic. The school sets the deadline for choosing, so decide early with the tutor.

How much of CBSE Class 12 maths is calculus for a student in Guntur?

For a CBSE Class 12 student in Guntur, calculus carries 35 of the 80 board marks, and all 38 questions are compulsory. That makes calculus the largest share of every week from the first term. A tutor should pair it with full written answers, since the board rewards complete working rather than shortcuts.

How do maths tutors find homes in Brodipet and Arundelpet in Guntur?

Maths tutors find homes in Brodipet and Arundelpet fastest when given the numbers, because addresses there follow numbered lanes, lines and cross roads. In Brodipet, give the lane and cross road first. In Arundelpet, add the line, door number and building name, and say whether the stairs open on the front road or a side lane.

What should Lakshmipuram and Pattabhipuram families share before the first maths class?

Lakshmipuram and Pattabhipuram families should share flat details and a pin before the first maths class. In a Lakshmipuram apartment, send the building name, block, floor and flat number and tell the watchman. In Pattabhipuram, where some entrances face a side road rather than Pattabhipuram Road, a pin location saves the tutor a wasted first trip.

Which Guntur maths students are better served by online lessons?

Online maths lessons suit Guntur students taking ISC, IB or IGCSE, where specialists are fewer, and anyone whose college day runs late. Home lessons help younger children and those whose written steps need checking as they work. Many families mix one home visit with one online session each week to keep the routine steady.
