Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

A Science-stream student in Rajkot who is aiming for JEE usually carries three loads at once: the Standard 11 or 12 school syllabus, a coaching batch or a self-study plan, and the entrance itself. A home tutor adds value only when the role is narrow and written down. This page explains what that role looks like in Rajkot: how to slot sessions around school and the batch, which tutors can realistically reach Mavdi, Kothariya or Bhagwatipara every week, how a Gujarat board, CBSE or ICSE student closes the gap to the NTA syllabus, and how the plan changes from Class 11 to a repeat year. The national JEE home tutor hub explains the exam in depth.
The National Testing Agency conducts JEE (Main). In its 2026 information bulletin, Paper 1 was a three-hour computer-based test of 75 questions for 300 marks, with mathematics, physics and chemistry carrying 25 questions each. Each subject combined 20 multiple-choice items and 5 numerical-answer items; a correct response earned four marks and an incorrect one cost a mark in both kinds. Candidates could appear in two sessions, and the better result counted. A set number of the highest-ranked Paper 1 candidates qualified for JEE (Advanced), which the IITs run as two compulsory papers of three hours each, available in English and Hindi. Because rules shift between years, read the current documents on jeemain.nta.nic.in and jeeadv.ac.in before you plan around any figure here.
A Rajkot family paying for a JEE tutor next to a batch is buying focused attention, not a second lecture. Agree the role at the demo and put it in one line on paper. The roles that tend to pay back:
| Part of the preparation | With a batch | Without a batch |
|---|---|---|
| Order of chapters and pace | Set by the batch | Written by the tutor at the start of the year from the NTA syllabus |
| Doubt clearing | The tutor, every week | The tutor, every week |
| Timed full papers | The batch's test series, reviewed with the tutor | Previous NTA papers plus a mock series the family arranges |
| Board-year writing | The tutor and the school | The tutor and the school |
| Daily study hours | Shared between the batch timetable and home | Almost entirely the family's routine |
The NTA syllabus is built on NCERT content, so the distance a student has to cover depends on the school course.
Subject-by-subject board help sits on our Rajkot maths, physics and chemistry pages.
The batch and school fix most of the day. Pick tutor slots that a person crossing the city can keep all year, not only in the first enthusiastic month.
| Slot | What it is for | Why it holds in Rajkot |
|---|---|---|
| Early morning before school | A home session on the hardest physics or maths chapter | Main roads such as Gondal Road and Kuvadva Road are calmer; cooler in summer |
| Late evening on batch days | A short online doubt check | Nobody crosses the Aji river after dark; doubts are still fresh |
| Weekend morning | A full mock, reviewed later that day | Market areas such as Satellite Chowk and Sadar are less crowded early |
| Navratri, Diwali, Uttarayan, heavy rain | Online sessions at the usual time, agreed in advance | Festival evenings and wet roads should not cost the week |
Our coaching or home tutor for JEE guide was written for another city, but its reasoning on travel time and splitting the work applies here too.
The Aji river divides Rajkot into an east and a west side, and a weekly trip across it at the evening peak is where many arrangements fail. Start with tutors from your own bank of the river.
| Locality | How tutors get there | Useful tip |
|---|---|---|
| Jagnath Plot | Central, so tutors from the west and the old city both pass nearby | Send directions through the inner lanes, not the commercial roads |
| Mavdi | BRTS to the Mavdi Circle stop on the ring road, or a two-wheeler | Mavdi Main Road fills at school and office closing; book a little later |
| Gondal Road | BRTS to Gondal Chowk at the southern end of the Blue Corridor | Turn into the residential side roads early to keep off the highway traffic |
| Kothariya | Along the Rajkot–Gondal highway or the ring road; a shorter run from Bhaktinagar | Share a map pin before the demo; new blocks are hard to find |
| Bhagwatipara | From the Rajkot Junction side or the old city, by auto or two-wheeler | Narrow inner lanes; a two-wheeler beats a car |
| Satellite Chowk | Through the residential lanes rather than the market junction | Look first for a tutor living east of the river |
Zone pages go further: Central Rajkot, South Rajkot (Mavdi and Gondal Road) and East Rajkot (Kuvadva Road side). Every locality is listed on the Rajkot tutors page, and our Rajkot home tuition guide walks through each zone.
Rather than choosing a format per subject, decide by the kind of work. Some tasks need a person watching the pencil; others are just as good on a screen.
| Task | Format | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Setting up a mechanics or electrostatics problem | Home | The tutor sees the diagram and the first equation as they are written |
| Long algebra, calculus and coordinate work | Home, or online with a camera over the notebook | Errors hide in the middle lines of working |
| Reviewing a timed mock | Online works well | Both can look at the same paper and the answer key on screen |
| Inorganic and organic recall checks | Online, short and frequent | Quick questioning suits a screen |
| Advanced-level problem sets | Online with a specialist | The right person may live in another city |
Our online tutors for Rajkot page covers the set-up, and the home or online tutor comparison sets out the general trade-offs.
The steepest climb: kinematics and laws of motion, the first calculus, and mole concept in chemistry. Begin an error notebook in the opening month. A student who lets Class 11 physics or maths slide seldom finds the time to rebuild it during Class 12.
New chapters, revision of Class 11 and full papers, all while the board year runs. Mark out the weeks for written board practice early, whether the student sits GSEB or CBSE papers, and keep them protected.
Begin by reading last year's papers and mocks to find where the marks went. Daytime home sessions are easier to schedule and widen the choice of tutor. The 2026 rules set no age limit for Main and two consecutive-year attempts for Advanced; confirm them in the current documents.
Topic plans to share with the tutor: JEE maths, JEE physics and JEE chemistry, plus our JEE physics tutor page.
Negative marking makes the review as important as the paper. After every timed test the tutor and student should write three counts per subject: questions answered wrongly, questions skipped, and questions that took far too long. Wrong answers in a well-known chapter point to carelessness or rushing; skips in one area point to a concept gap; slow questions point to a method that needs a shortcut or more drill. The next week's sessions are then built around the biggest of those three piles. Over a term this record also tells the family whether the tutor is earning the fee, because the same mistake should stop appearing.
If the fit is wrong, we arrange another demo, and switching tutor later is free. The demo class checklist has more to look for.

The tutor takes one defined job rather than repeating lectures: clearing the week's unfinished batch questions, lifting the weakest of the three subjects, reviewing each mock for lost marks and keeping Standard 12 board writing in shape. Agree that role at the demo so both sides know what success looks like.
Yes. GSEB examines Standard 12 in a Science stream, and a tutor can use the board's papers and question bank for school work while mapping each chapter to the NTA syllabus and adding numerical and multi-concept practice. GSEB also conducts GUJCET; take its details only from gseb.org.
Early mornings before school suit home sessions on the hardest chapter, short online doubt checks fit late evenings on batch days, and weekend mornings work for a full mock and its review. Agree online back-up sessions for Navratri, Diwali, Uttarayan and heavy rain so the week is not lost.
Tutors teach across the city, from Mavdi, Gondal Road and Kothariya in the south to Jagnath Plot and Sadar in the centre and Bhagwatipara and Kuvadva Road in the east. Because the Aji river splits east from west, we look first for tutors on your side. Share your locality and a nearby circle.
Mix them by task. Problem set-up in physics and long maths working are easier to correct at the table; mock reviews, chemistry recall checks and Advanced-level sets with a specialist from another city work well online. Many families keep one home session a week and add a shorter online one.
