Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

In Rajkot, most talk of boards is about GSEB and CBSE, so families on the CISCE route need a tutor chosen specifically for it. The council's papers are long and written in English, the Class 10 science is split into three separate papers, internal work carries real weight, and the ISC years bring subject rules that cannot be undone later. This page sets out how the ICSE and ISC courses are organised, where students typically lose marks, which tutors can reach central, south and east Rajkot, how to choose between ISC, CBSE and the GSEB HSC after Class 10, and what to test at the free demo. The maths notes reflect Abhinandan Tiwary's role teaching Class 10 CBSE and ICSE maths and Ajay Vatsyayan's role teaching ISC maths; the science notes reflect Aaditya Kashyap's role teaching CBSE and ICSE science.
The Rajkot tutors page lists the boards families here use: the Gujarat board, CBSE, CISCE's ICSE and ISC, and IB or Cambridge IGCSE. We do not have figures for each and do not estimate them. The comparison that matters is practical. GSEB, the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, holds the SSC at Standard 10 and the HSC at Standard 12, and a Gujarati-medium student there writes in the textbook's Gujarati terms. CBSE builds on NCERT books with shorter, tightly scored answers. ICSE asks for fuller written answers in English in almost every subject, examines physics, chemistry and biology as three papers, and publishes reports on where candidates went wrong. A tutor whose experience is mainly GSEB or CBSE should be able to show that they mark the CISCE way.
| Weighting, exam to internal | Group | What sits in it |
|---|---|---|
| 80 to 20 | Group I, compulsory for all | History, Civics and Geography; English; one second language |
| 80 to 20 | Group II, choose two or three | Options include Mathematics and Science, along with Economics, Environmental Science, Commercial Studies and a classical or modern foreign language |
| 50 to 50 | Group III, choose one | One applied subject, for instance Computer Applications, Art, Physical Education, Robotics and AI, or the Economic and Commercial Applications papers |
Because internal assessment makes up half of Group III, that subject rewards a student who keeps projects moving all year. A student who means to catch up in the final month loses most where the weighting is highest.
One three-hour written paper worth 80 marks, plus 20 internal marks from at least two assignments, each assessed by the school's teacher and by an external examiner. Alongside algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistics come commercial topics like banking and shares, and the examiners want to see each line of working.
Each is a separate two-hour paper of 80 marks with 20 internal marks for practical work. A good result in one does nothing for the other two, so ask whether one tutor will take all three or whether the weakest needs its own specialist.
After each exam season CISCE releases its Analysis of Pupil Performance, subject by subject, showing the questions that went badly and why. A tutor who reads it beside the specimen papers is preparing your child for real marking.
The difficulty of ICSE is volume, not any single chapter. Three habits keep it manageable. First, a revision calendar that brings each paper's older chapters back every few weeks, so nothing learned in Class 9 is cold by the board exam. Second, timed written answers from the start of Class 9 rather than only in the last term, since speed in long answers builds slowly. Third, a dated list of projects and assignments, checked at the start of every month. A typical home session follows the same shape: the tutor marks the student's own attempts line by line, teaches one new idea, and closes with one answer written against the clock.
In both ISC years, mathematics is marked out of 80 for theory with a further 20 for a project. For more, read the ICSE and ISC maths guide or see our ISC maths tutor page.
A Rajkot student completing ICSE has three realistic routes. Staying with ISC keeps the CISCE style of answer, but each elective goes much deeper and practicals and projects grow. A switch to CBSE means NCERT books, the board's yearly sample papers and its own balance of theory against practical marks. The subject knowledge transfers; the writing style changes, with briefer answers that stay near the NCERT wording. Moving to a GSEB school means the HSC in the General or Science stream, set by the state board; read the board's notices on gseb.org before deciding. Whichever route, the summer after Class 10 is the time for a short bridging plan: the new board's opening chapters, its style of question and, for anyone taking science, a gentle first look at Class 11 mechanics and algebra. Because ISC fixes subjects in September of Class 11, settle the choice early. See CBSE home tutors in Rajkot, Gujarat board tutors in Rajkot and our stream choice guide.
The board as a whole is explained on our ICSE and ISC board hub.
| Locality | Zone | What to tell the tutor |
|---|---|---|
| Sadar | Central | Whether to come by auto or two-wheeler, since parking near busy buildings is hard in the evening; the watchman's sign-in routine |
| Bhaktinagar | South | The lane and a landmark near the house; older lanes suit a two-wheeler |
| Mavdi | South | House or apartment complex, and the nearest stop if they ride the BRTS to Mavdi Circle |
| Kothariya | South | A map pin for a new block; the gate's visitor entry |
| Bhagwatipara | East | Directions from the Rajkot Junction side; where to leave a vehicle at busy times |
| Kuvadva Road | East | Which side road to use instead of the highway, and a slot outside the evening peak |
Since the Aji river divides the city, we look first for tutors on your bank. The Rajkot home tuition guide adds timing tips for every zone.
ISC elective and literature specialists are fewer than general tutors in any city, so many families keep a local tutor for maths or the sciences, where a person at the table catches each written line, and add online sessions for one elective or for English literature. Online also suits short revision checks before each paper, and Navratri evenings, Uttarayan or heavy-rain days when travel is slow. If maths or science goes online, the tutor must be able to see the working live, through a stylus tablet, a shared board or a phone clipped above the page. Our online tutors for Rajkot page covers the set-up.
Your shortlist holds two or three matched tutors, each with the fee shown up front, and a later switch costs nothing. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. On the CISCE route a quote mostly depends on the class, how many papers need help, the months left before the exam and the distance the tutor rides. Our Rajkot tuition fees post and the pricing guide say more.
Send us the course (ICSE or ISC), the class and subjects, your locality and the days that suit you, and the opening lesson will be a free demo. Families can also look through tutor profiles, while teachers can see tuition jobs in Rajkot.
Finding an ICSE or ISC tutor in Rajkot takes more care than for GSEB or CBSE, so we match on the board and ask about CISCE experience. We start with tutors on your side of the Aji river, and suggest an online specialist for an ISC elective when nobody suitable lives nearby.
A Rajkot family asking for an ICSE or ISC tutor gets two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class, which is a free demo. Share the course, class, subjects, locality and free days, and ask which specimen paper and examiners' report they use. Switching tutor later is free, and tutors who join go through an ID check.
A Rajkot ICSE Class 10 student takes compulsory Group I, two or three Group II subjects and one applied Group III subject. Group I covers English, a second language, and History, Civics and Geography; Group II includes Mathematics and Science. Groups I and II are weighted 80 exam to 20 internal; Group III is 50 to 50, so its projects need work all year.
A Rajkot ICSE student may need a specialist for the weakest science, because physics, chemistry and biology are three separate papers. Each lasts two hours and carries 80 marks, with 20 internal marks for practical work. A strong result in one does nothing for the other two, so ask at the demo whether one tutor can teach all three well.
Rajkot parents should know before Class 11 that ISC makes English compulsory with three to five electives and at most six subjects. The list is final after 15 September of the Class 11 registration year, and a Class 12 subject must be studied in Class 11. Promotion needs 75% attendance and 35% in four subjects including English.
After ICSE in Rajkot, staying on ISC keeps the CISCE answer style, while CBSE or the GSEB HSC bring a different board and writing style. ISC electives go deeper; CBSE uses NCERT books and shorter answers near NCERT wording; the GSEB HSC follows the state board's General or Science stream. Decide early, since ISC fixes subjects in September of Class 11.
A Rajkot ICSE student should revise in rounds, because the difficulty is volume rather than any single chapter. Keep a calendar that brings older chapters back every few weeks, practise timed written answers from the start of Class 9, and check a dated list of projects and assignments each month. CISCE's Analysis of Pupil Performance shows where candidates lose marks.
Online tuition helps ICSE and ISC students in Rajkot most for one elective or English literature, where specialists are fewer. A local tutor can keep maths or the sciences at the table, where each written line is caught. Online also suits revision checks before each paper and Navratri, Uttarayan or heavy-rain days; for online maths, the tutor must see the working live.
ICSE and ISC home tutors cover Rajkot localities including Sadar in the centre, Bhaktinagar, Mavdi and Kothariya in the south, and Bhagwatipara and Kuvadva Road in the east. Tell us the locality, a nearby landmark and whether you live in a house or an apartment block, plus whether the tutor rides the BRTS, so the route is easy to repeat.
