What home tuition costs in Rajkot

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Science home tutor in Rajkot for Classes 6 to 10: three sciences, one steady routine, and the textbook your child really uses

The middle-school years are when science in Rajkot homes quietly changes shape. Activities and observations give way to equations, circuit symbols, ray diagrams and definitions that have to be word-perfect. Children make that climb from different starting points: the Gujarat board's state textbooks in Gujarati or English medium, NCERT books in CBSE schools, or the texts an ICSE school chooses for itself. A good science tutor follows that book, keeps a dependable after-school slot, and teaches your child to write answers the way an examiner marks them. NXTutors suggests two or three science tutors who can do all three, with each fee visible from the start and a free first class.

Which science book is on your child's desk, and what does that mean for the tutor?

Aaditya Kashyap writes the CBSE and ICSE guidance on this page. Whatever the board, the first job is to teach from the book the school has handed out, because that is where the examiner's wording comes from.

The national science home tutor page explains our matching in more detail.

How does a science tutor's job change from Class 6 to Class 10?

Classes 6 and 7: words and sketches
Most chapters start with an activity. The tutor's task is to turn each one into a precise sentence and a tidy labelled sketch, so that "it got hot" becomes "the reaction released heat". See the Class 6 science tutor page.
Class 8: the first numbers
Physics, chemistry and biology begin to feel like separate subjects, and simple calculations appear. A unit should follow every number in every answer, from the first week. More on the Class 8 science tutor page.
Class 9: the steep year
Motion and its graphs, the nature of matter and the cell all land in one session. Gaps that open here tend to resurface in Class 10, so they should be closed within weeks, not left for revision.
Class 10 or Standard 10: the board year
Each chapter now leads to the SSC or the CBSE or ICSE board paper. The useful question is whether your child has already written a full timed section under exam conditions.

Until Class 10, one tutor for all three sciences is usually the better choice. A single teacher can see that a failing physics numerical is really a weak fraction, or that a biology answer lacks the one keyword the mark depends on.

What should a Rajkot family on the Gujarat board look for in a science tutor?

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, usually called GSEB, holds the SSC after Standard 10. It writes its own syllabus and paper design and revises them, so we do not set out a GSEB science paper on this page; gseb.org has the current version. Three practical checks matter more than any pattern:

  • Language of instruction. The tutor explains in the medium your child writes, using the textbook's own terms for each process and part.
  • Board material first. GSEB publishes a subject-wise question bank for Standards 9 to 12; practice should start there and with the prescribed textbook.
  • Same care with diagrams. Labels, arrows, units and balanced equations deserve as much attention on the state board as anywhere else.

Our Gujarat Board tutor page for Rajkot looks at SSC preparation across subjects.

Where are the 80 board marks in CBSE Class 10 science?

CBSE gives 80 marks to the board paper and leaves 20 to the school, split into four parts of 5: periodic tests, the portfolio, practical-based subject enrichment and multiple assessment. Across the subjects, biology carries 30 of the 80, and physics and chemistry have 25 each. The units are weighted like this:

  • Chemical Substances, 25. Reactions, acids, bases and salts, metals and non-metals, and carbon compounds. Balanced equations and correct names every week.
  • World of Living, 25. Life processes, control and coordination, reproduction and heredity. Diagrams drawn from memory with every label spelled correctly.
  • Effects of Current, 13. Circuits, resistance and magnetism. Numericals with the unit written on each line.
  • Natural Phenomena, 12. Light, the eye and the spreading of white light. Ray diagrams with an arrow on every ray.
  • Our Environment, 5. Small, but revise it; these are easy marks to lose by skipping.

CBSE also tags the paper by competency: about half the marks are for knowing and understanding, nearly a third for applying an idea in a new situation, and a fifth for analysing or evaluating. Our CBSE Class 10 science notes work through each chapter.

How many questions are on the CBSE Class 10 science paper, and how should each kind be practised?

The 39 questions of the 2026-27 CBSE Class 10 science sample paper, grouped by mark value
QuestionsTypePractice that pays
20 × 1 markMultiple-choice and assertion–reasonReading all four options before choosing; checking both statements in an assertion pair
6 × 2 marksVery short answersTwo distinct points for two marks, with nothing added
7 × 3 marksShort answersA brief explanation backed by an equation or small diagram
3 × 4 marksCase- or source-basedAnswering from the passage or data given, not from memory alone
3 × 5 marksLong answersA diagram or equation plus four or five clearly separated points

Sample papers and marking schemes are released on cbseacademic before the exam. A tutor should mark your child's work against those schemes, since they show exactly which phrase earns the mark.

Which Class 10 topics are marked only in school, and how many chances does CBSE give?

For 2026-27, three areas sit outside the board paper and are assessed by the school: evolution; the placing of elements in the periodic table; and the electric motor with electromagnetic induction and the generator. They still feed internal marks and return in Class 11, so a tutor teaches them properly without spending board revision on them. The board paper also draws on the 14 experiments listed in the curriculum, so the practical file belongs in revision.

Every Class 10 student sits the compulsory main exam. Afterwards, an eligible student may take an optional second exam to try to improve marks in up to three subjects, and science qualifies. With 2027 dates still to come on cbse.gov.in, plan as though the main exam is the one that counts. The board-year planner maps out the months, and the Class 10 science tutor page shows how we match for that year.

What is new in CBSE Class 9 science?

The 2026-27 curriculum moves Class 9 to NCERT's new textbook, Exploration, while keeping 80 exam marks and 20 internal. Matter, its nature and behaviour leads with 27; the world of living has 25; motion, force, work and sound has 23; and Earth as a system has 5. Notes handed down from an older sibling follow the old book, so check the chapter list before relying on them. More on the Class 9 science tutor page.

How is science in an ICSE school different for a tutor?

CISCE examines ICSE Class 10 science as three subjects, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, each with its own paper and internal marks. Schools pick their own textbooks within the syllabus, so the tutor teaches from the books your child carries and practises with CISCE specimen papers. Exact definitions and complete numerical working are what examiners look for. Some families only want help with one of the three, often from Class 9 onwards. ICSE science tutors are fewer in Rajkot than CBSE or state-board ones, so ask early; an online tutor widens the field.

Which tutor can reach your home after school? Six Rajkot localities

For a child in these classes, science usually fits between school and the evening meal, so a short and reliable trip for the tutor matters more than anything else. All localities are listed on our Rajkot page.

The western roads

University Road is lined with flats among shops and clinics, with pockets such as Yogi Nagar and Tulsi Park on either side; expect the tutor to sign in at the gate, and keep the class clear of the road's evening rush. Along Kalawad Road, a house in a side street allows a doorstep arrival, while a flat needs a word with the watchman about visitor parking. In Mota Mava, many complexes are new and some approach roads are still unfinished, so send a map pin before the first class.

North-west and the centre

Raiya Road has the Raiya Road Circle stop on the BRTS Blue Corridor, so a tutor without a vehicle can come by bus and then auto; a slot just after school beats a late one near the market stretch. Gandhigram, beside the old airport, sits between Raiya Road and the older central areas, which suits a tutor who already teaches in both. Around Race Course, autos are easy to find and bungalows often have room at the gate, but the roads round the ground fill when offices close.

The West Rajkot and Central Rajkot zone pages add more local detail.

What does a sound weekly science routine look like?

Strong tutors tend to repeat the same shape each week rather than delivering a new lecture every visit:

A weekly science routine for Classes 6 to 10 and what each step protects
StepWhat happensWhat it protects
Quick recallA few spoken questions on last week's chapterMemory between lessons
Diagram from memoryA ray diagram, a circuit with standard symbols, the heart or a flower, fully labelledDiagram marks, which are easy to lose
Equation setA few equations balanced, with state symbols where neededThe chemistry unit's 25 marks
One written answerMarked on the spot, with the scoring point underlinedExam-style writing
HomeworkSet, and actually checked at the next lessonSteady progress

At the free demo, ask the tutor to teach the chapter your child is on at school and watch for these habits. Our demo class checklist for parents lists more. If the first tutor is not right, the next one on your shortlist gives a demo, and a later change is free.

What does a science home tutor in Rajkot charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fees. The class, the trip to your locality and the number of lessons each week all shape a quote. Every fee is shown before the demo, and the Rajkot home tuition fees article suggests what to ask.

How do you ask for a science shortlist?

Send the class and board (with the medium for a GSEB student), the branch of science your child finds hardest, your locality with a landmark, and the afternoons that are free. Two or three science tutors come back with their fees, and you meet the one you prefer at a free demo class. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID, as set out on how we check tutors. When no suitable tutor can travel to you at that hour, we offer an online or part-online plan instead. NXTutors is based in Sector 66, Gurugram, and runs online classes across India. Science Home Tutor in Rajkot: common questions

How much does a science home tutor in Rajkot charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own fee, and the shortlist shows every one before you choose a demo.

Can one tutor teach physics, chemistry and biology up to Class 10?

Usually, yes, and it often works better. One teacher who sees all three sciences can tell whether a failed numerical comes from weak arithmetic or a missing idea. From Class 11 the subjects split, and separate physics, chemistry or biology tutors become the more common choice for board and entrance work.

Do you have science tutors for GSEB students in Gujarati medium?

We look for tutors who explain in the medium your child writes, use the state textbook's own terms, and practise from the subject-wise question bank GSEB publishes for Standards 9 to 12. The board revises its syllabus and paper design, so check the current SSC scheme on gseb.org.

How are marks split in CBSE Class 10 science?

The board paper is worth 80 and the school awards 20. Chemical Substances and World of Living carry 25 each, Effects of Current 13, Natural Phenomena 12 and Our Environment 5. Biology therefore holds 30 of the 80, with physics and chemistry at 25 apiece.

Which Class 10 science topics will not appear on the CBSE board paper?

For 2026-27, the school assesses evolution, the placing of elements in the periodic table, and the electric motor with electromagnetic induction and the generator. They still count towards internal marks and return in Class 11, so a tutor should teach them properly while keeping board revision for the examined chapters.

What changed in CBSE Class 9 science?

Class 9 now uses NCERT's new textbook, Exploration. Exam marks stay at 80 with 20 internal: matter has 27, the world of living 25, motion, force, work and sound 23, and Earth as a system 5. Older notes follow the previous book, so compare chapter lists before using them.

Which Rajkot localities do your science tutors reach after school?

We match across the city, from University Road, Kalawad Road and Mota Mava in the west to Raiya Road, Gandhigram and the Race Course area. A tutor living on your side of the ring road is the easiest fit for an after-school slot; online lessons cover any gap.

What happens if the first science tutor is not a good fit?

Tell us after the demo and the next tutor from your shortlist gives one instead. Changing tutor later in the year is free as well, so a child who outgrows a tutor before the board year can move to someone with more Class 10 experience without extra cost.
