Half of the NEET paper is biology, and in Prayagraj, as elsewhere, the students who struggle are rarely short of biology hours. Under the NTA's 2026 information bulletin, NEET (UG) was a single pen-and-paper exam in one shift, with 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions worth 720 marks: 45 in physics, 45 in chemistry and 90 in biology. Each correct answer earned four marks and each wrong one lost a mark. Booklets came in English, in Hindi as a bilingual booklet, or in English with a regional language, thirteen in all. Candidates had to be at least 17 by 31 December of the exam year, with no upper age limit, and when two candidates tied, biology marks decided first, then chemistry, then physics. Because biology carries half the marks and also breaks ties, it needs a little time every day rather than one long weekly sitting. Physics needs fewer sessions, but each one must involve the tutor watching the student solve. Chemistry sits between the two. A typical shape for a Class 12 student with a batch:
