Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Chemistry is three subjects wearing one name. Physical chemistry is mostly numericals, organic chemistry is a web of reactions, and inorganic chemistry rewards exact statements learnt from the textbook. A Prayagraj student in Class 11 or 12 may be meeting all three for the UP Board Intermediate paper, for CBSE or ISC, and for NEET or JEE at the same time. The tutor who helps most is the one who knows which branch is losing your child marks and works on that, rather than repeating whatever the school or coaching batch taught this week. NXTutors shortlists two or three chemistry tutors who fit your child's syllabus and can reach your part of the city. You compare their fees before anyone visits, and there is no charge for the opening demo lesson.
In 2026 each NTA paper awarded +4 per correct response and −1 per incorrect one. The agency republishes the pattern each year, so rely on its latest bulletin. For more, see our list of important NEET chemistry chapters, the NEET chemistry tutor page and the NEET home tutor in Prayagraj page.
The UP Board, whose head office is in Prayagraj, sets Intermediate chemistry in Class 12 as a 70-mark written paper of seven questions. It opens with six one-mark multiple-choice items, and the later questions carry two, three, four and five marks. At least 8 of the marks go to numerical questions.
Two things follow for tuition. The numerical share, though modest, is the part most often thrown away through a missing unit or a slipped power of ten, so it deserves a short drill every week. And because the paper moves from single-mark choices to five-mark answers, the student must practise both the quick decision and the full written explanation. Take the current syllabus, model paper and dates from upmsp.edu.in, and see our UP Board tutors in Prayagraj page for the other subjects.
CBSE fixes theory marks chapter by chapter. For 2026-27, with the paper's design unchanged from last session, the ten chapters fall into three branches of very different size:
Students meet 33 questions spread over five sections, a few with an internal choice; calculators and log tables stay outside the hall. Roughly 40% of the paper tests whether a student remembers and understands, and about 60% whether they can use, analyse or judge that knowledge. Our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide goes chapter by chapter, and the chemistry tutor for Class 12 page plans the board year.
This session CBSE has deleted two areas from Class 12 completely, the solid state and the p-block's Groups 15 to 18. Another four stay in the teaching but are marked by the school alone, so the board paper never asks about them: surface chemistry, isolating elements from their ores, polymers, and chemistry in everyday life.
An entrance candidate should hold on to those notes for now. NTA writes a separate syllabus, which may still include some of the deleted material. Revise for the board from CBSE's list, and for NEET or JEE from NTA's.
| Branch | Typical way marks are lost | The tutor's job |
|---|---|---|
| Physical | Right formula, wrong answer: a dropped unit or a misplaced power of ten | Sit beside the student for a couple of problems and catch the slip the moment it appears |
| Organic | Reactions learnt as separate facts and confused under pressure | Keep a single reaction map, from alcohols through carbonyl compounds and acids to amines, redrawn from memory every week |
| Inorganic | Vague sentences where the exam wants the exact textbook line | Quiz straight from NCERT in short bursts and ask for the reason behind each trend |
Ending each lesson with a pair of "give reasons" questions in board style, corrected on the spot, stops entrance work from crowding out the school paper. The NEET coaching or home tutor article sets out how the two fit together.
The UP Board's written paper is out of 70; ask your child's school how the remaining marks are assessed. In CBSE the theory paper is also out of 70, and the other 30 come from practical work, divided into 8 for titration, 8 for salt analysis, 6 for an experiment based on theory content, 4 for the project, and 4 shared by the record and the viva. In this session's titration, permanganate is run against either oxalic acid or Mohr's salt, and each student weighs out and makes up the standard solution alone.
The burettes stay at school, yet much can be rehearsed at home: working out molarity from the mass weighed, recording burette readings neatly and carrying them through to the answer, reasoning through salt analysis from the first tests to the confirming ones, and the viva question every examiner seems to like, which is why a permanganate titration needs no added indicator.
Senior students usually study chemistry in the evening, so the tutor's route at that hour decides whether a slot holds. Prayagraj has no metro; most tutors ride two-wheelers or take autos. Browse by locality on the Prayagraj page.
| Locality | Setting | Way in | Tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tagore Town | An older neighbourhood of the New City, built in 1909, with parks, flats and older houses | Straight to the door of a house; the guard for a flat | Roads to Civil Lines and Katra fill in the evening, so start early |
| Ashok Nagar | Two- and three-bedroom flats and independent houses | Mention the visit to the guard for quick entry | A weekend morning suits a longer session before a test |
| Mumfordganj | Colonies of houses laid out in the late 1930s, now with some apartment buildings | Block and house number lead to the door | Online works well for late revision evenings |
| Katra | Homes in the streets behind a major bazaar | A residential street, not the market lanes | Little parking near the shops; a two-wheeler is easiest |
| Chowk | Older houses in narrow lanes of the old city | Auto or rickshaw; directions from the clock tower | Avoid the evening market rush |
| Lukerganj | Old bungalows with newer flats and independent floors, south-west of the Junction | From the old city, Kareli or across the line | Fix the time in advance; station roads are busy in the evening |
The Prayagraj home tuition guide covers the other zones, including the western colonies and the townships across the rivers.
Tutors for these courses are scarcer than for CBSE or the UP Board, so mention the course in your first message. When nobody suitable can come to you, a common answer is an online specialist plus a local tutor to check written work at home.
Because Class 12 is built on it. The mole concept, equilibrium and the first organic chapters return in solutions, electrochemistry and every conversion question, and weaknesses there surface a year later in both the board and the entrance papers. A term spent securing them saves far more effort than repairing them in the board year. See the chemistry tutor for Class 11 page.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every tutor sets their own rate, which tends to rise with the exam targeted and the tutor's experience of it; the evening trip to your home and how many lessons you book each week also count. All fees are visible before the demo, and the Prayagraj home tuition fees article explains what to compare.
The class, the board and medium, the main exam, the branch that costs the most marks, coaching days if any, your locality and a landmark, and the evenings that are free. You get two or three chemistry tutors with fees and pick whom to meet at a free demo. A wrong first pick leads to another demo, and changing tutor later costs nothing. Tutors who join go through an ID check, and the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID; see how we check tutors. NXTutors works from Sector 66, Gurugram, and online lessons reach every state; for other cities, see the national chemistry home tutor page.

For Prayagraj students, UP Board Class 12 chemistry is a 70-mark written paper of seven questions, opening with six one-mark multiple-choice items. Later questions carry two, three, four and five marks, and at least 8 marks go to numericals. Take the current syllabus and model paper from upmsp.edu.in.
A chemistry tutor at home in Prayagraj gives the slower, personal session a batch cannot: physical numericals watched line by line and an organic reaction map redrawn weekly. Inorganic statements are tested straight from NCERT, and two board-style reasons are marked on the spot. The tutor follows the coaching chapter rather than racing ahead.
For Prayagraj students on CBSE Class 12 chemistry, organic carries 33 of the 70 theory marks, physical 23 and inorganic 14. Electrochemistry is the heaviest single chapter at 9, ahead of aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids at 8. Conversions need weekly practice, and electrochemistry numericals should be secure before the pre-boards.
A Prayagraj student should keep the solid state and p-block chemistry notes for now, even though CBSE has cut them. CBSE removed them, Groups 15 to 18 included, from Class 12 for 2026-27, but NTA writes a separate syllabus that may keep some for NEET or JEE Main. Revise for the board from CBSE's list and for entrances from NTA's.
Yes, an evening chemistry lesson is practical in Katra, Prayagraj, with some planning. Ask the tutor to come along a residential street rather than the crowded market lanes, and name a landmark at your gate. Parking near the shops is limited, so a two-wheeler is easiest, and an earlier slot helps.
A Prayagraj home tutor can rehearse much of the 30 CBSE chemistry practical marks without a lab: molarity from the mass weighed, neat burette readings and salt-analysis reasoning. Titration and salt analysis earn 8 each, a theory-linked experiment 6, the project 4, and record with viva 4. A favourite viva asks why permanganate needs no indicator.
Class 11 is usually the right start for chemistry tuition in Prayagraj, because moles, equilibrium and the first organic chapters return throughout Class 12. Gaps there surface later in solutions, electrochemistry and conversions. A term spent securing them makes the board year and entrance preparation noticeably lighter.
For ISC, IB or IGCSE chemistry in Prayagraj, a home tutor alone may be hard to find, because these specialists are scarcer than CBSE or UP Board tutors. A common answer is an online specialist plus a local tutor who checks written work at home. Name the course in your first message.
For late chemistry revision in Mumfordganj or Tagore Town, Prayagraj families often switch that evening online while keeping home visits for regular lessons. Roads towards Civil Lines and Katra fill in the evening, so home slots should start early. Prayagraj has no metro, and most tutors ride two-wheelers or take autos.
