Home Tuition in Gandhinagar: A Sector and Locality Guide
Gandhinagar was planned from the start as Gujarat's capital, and it still reads like a plan. Thirty numbered sectors sit around the central government complex, each laid out with its own shopping and community centre and a mix of government and private homes. Beyond the grid, Pethapur and a ring of former villages, Kudasan, Sargasan, Randesan, Raysan, Koba and Vavol among them, joined the municipal corporation in June 2020 and have filled with apartment buildings, while GIFT City is growing on the bank of the Sabarmati.
That layout decides what a tutor meets at the door, how they get there, and which time of day keeps a weekly class steady. This guide covers all four NXTutors zones in Gandhinagar and every locality in them.
How do you give a tutor directions in Gandhinagar?
Inside the grid, addresses follow a fixed pattern: sector, block letter, then plot or house number, as in Sector 2C. Letter roads (K, KH, G, GH, CH, CHH and J) cross number roads (1 to 7), and the junctions take their names from both, such as CH-1 or JA-1. The sector, block letter, plot number and nearest junction are usually all a tutor needs. In government housing such as Sector 30, add the block and quarter number. In the merged localities, where most homes are in gated societies, share the society name, tower and flat number, and a phone number for the gate.
Which metro stations are open in Gandhinagar?
The Yellow Line links Gandhinagar with Ahmedabad and a Violet Line branch serves GIFT City, so tutors from either city can ride to the nearest station and finish by auto or two-wheeler. Gandhinagar Capital railway station, in Sector 14, handles rail travel.
| Opened | Stations in and around Gandhinagar | Localities they help |
|---|---|---|
| September 2024 | GNLU, Raysan, Randesan, Dholakuva Circle, Infocity and Sector-1 on the Yellow Line | Raysan, Randesan, Kudasan, Sargasan, Infocity, Sectors 2 and 3 |
| September 2024 | The Violet Line branch from GNLU to GIFT City | GIFT City |
| April 2025 | Koba Circle, Sector-10A and Sachivalaya | Koba and the central sectors |
| September 2025 | Juna Koba and Koba Gaam | Koba |
| January 2026 | Akshardham, Juna Sachivalaya, Sector-16, Sector-24 and Mahatma Mandir | Sectors 16, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 |
An extension of the Violet Line beyond GIFT City towards Shahpur has been approved but is not open. Sector 30, Pethapur, Vavol and Adalaj have no station of their own, so tutors usually come by two-wheeler or car.
Sectors 16–30 & Pethapur
The administrative core of the capital and the old town beside it. Homes are mostly independent houses and low flats reached straight from the sector roads, so tutors usually park at the gate. Read more on the Sectors 16–30 & Pethapur zone page.
- Sector 21: homes on planned plots beside a well-known shopping area. Akshardham station serves the market. The shops get busy in the evening, so fix a weekday slot in advance; internal roads are easier for parking.
- Sectors 16, 22 and 23: state offices in Sector 16, flats and houses in 22 and 23, all served by Sector-16 station. Office hours slow the roads, so late-afternoon or weekend slots tend to suit. Give the block letter and plot number on the first visit.
- Sectors 25 and 26: Sector 25 is mainly residential, while Sector 26 holds the state industrial estate. Sector-24 station is in the adjoining sector. Most homes face the sector roads, so a tutor can park outside; an early-evening or weekend slot avoids the estate's working-day traffic.
- Sector 30: the sector of state government quarters, alongside independent houses and apartment buildings. Quarters are in numbered blocks, so share the block and quarter number. NH-147 crosses the sector and is busy at office hours; fix an after-school slot in advance.
- Pethapur: an old town, once the seat of a small princely state and known for carving printing blocks, merged into the corporation in June 2020. Older lanes sit beside newer bungalow colonies and apartments. Send a landmark and a map pin before the demo.
Sectors 1–8 & Infocity
Early grid sectors, the main IT office district and a fast-growing former village. See the Sectors 1–8 & Infocity zone page.
- Sectors 2 and 3: independent and duplex houses in lettered blocks such as Sector 2C, close to Sector-1 and Infocity stations. Doorstep arrival is the norm; avoid the hours when Infocity's offices open and close.
- Sectors 6, 7 and 8: three neighbouring residential sectors, each with its own shopping centre. A junction name plus block and plot number guides a tutor here. Tutors from Randesan or Kudasan, in the same municipal ward, have a short trip.
- Infocity: an office district whose nearby homes are mainly in Sectors 2 and 3, Sargasan, Kudasan and Randesan. Infocity station sits between Sector-1 and Dholakuva Circle. Late-afternoon or weekend lessons run more smoothly than those at office closing time.
- Vavol: a former village now full of apartment projects, with bungalow schemes and an older village core. There is no station, so tutors use K Road or the Uvarsad–Vavol Road. In gated projects, give the gate the tutor's name, tower and flat number.
Kudasan & Sargasan
Three adjoining former villages reshaped by town planning schemes, where flats now make up most of the housing. See the Kudasan & Sargasan zone page.
- Kudasan: independent houses, plotted developments and many newer apartment buildings near SG Highway and the Koba road. Sector-1 station is the usual stop. Plotted homes allow doorstep arrival; in flats, tell the guard in advance.
- Sargasan: mainly two- and three-bedroom flats next to Infocity and Sector 3, with Infocity station the usual stop. Most visits begin at a society gate, and an after-school slot avoids the worst of the highway traffic.
- Randesan: largely three-bedroom flats and some bungalow colonies along the Ahmedabad–Gandhinagar Road (SH-71), with its own Yellow Line station. Register the tutor at the gate; at bungalows the tutor comes straight to the door.
Koba, Raysan & GIFT City
The southern side, running towards the Sabarmati and Ahmedabad, with the newest high-rise homes in the capital. See the Koba, Raysan & GIFT City zone page.
- Raysan: multi-storey apartments, villas, row houses and plots, with its own station; the next stop, GNLU, is where the GIFT City branch begins. Share tower and flat numbers with the gate, and aim for a slot after the evening rush.
- Koba: two- to five-bedroom apartments and independent homes, served by three stations: Koba Circle, Juna Koba and Koba Gaam. Tutors from either city can come by metro. Office traffic on SH-71 peaks early and late in the working day.
- GIFT City: a planned business and finance district where homes are flats in high-rise towers. The Violet Line reaches GIFT City station. Entry is controlled, so register the tutor at the entrance; evenings after the rush, weekends or online classes suit many families.
- Adalaj: a census town where the Sarkhej–Gandhinagar Highway meets State Highway 41, with bungalow schemes and apartment projects. The metro does not reach it; Tapovan Circle station plus an auto is the usual route. Late afternoons or weekends avoid highway traffic.
Boards and the school year across the capital
Children here study under the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB), CBSE, or the CISCE's ICSE and ISC, and some families want IB or IGCSE help. Name the board, and for GSEB the medium your child studies in, so the matched tutors teach to match. See Gujarat Board tutors, CBSE and ICSE. For exam dates and notices, use the board's official website.

Frequently asked questions
Which parts of Gandhinagar have a metro station nearby?
The central sectors around Akshardham, Sector-16 and Sector-24, Sectors 1 to 3 and Infocity, Randesan, Raysan, Koba and GIFT City all have Yellow or Violet Line stations close by. Sector 30, Pethapur, Vavol and Adalaj do not, so tutors there usually travel by two-wheeler or car instead.
Can a tutor reach GIFT City by metro?
Yes. A Violet Line branch, open since September 2024, runs from GNLU station on the Yellow Line to GIFT City station, so a tutor from Gandhinagar's sectors or from Ahmedabad can arrive by metro. The towers have controlled entry, so register the tutor at the tower's entrance before the first class.
What address details should we share with a tutor in the sectors?
Give the sector, block letter and plot or house number, plus the nearest lettered junction, such as CH-1. In government housing, add the block and quarter number. In a gated society, share the tower, flat number and a phone number for the gate so the tutor is not kept waiting.
We live in Pethapur or Vavol. Can we still get a home tutor?
Yes, request one as usual. Neither locality has a metro station, so a tutor who lives in the neighbouring sectors or localities is usually the most practical match. NXTutors looks at the nearest tutors first, then your zone and the rest of the city, then online tutors for specialist subjects.
When is the easiest time for a home class in Gandhinagar?
Usually late afternoon or at the weekend. State offices, the Sector 26 industrial estate, Infocity and GIFT City all keep the roads busiest as the working day starts and ends, so a slot outside those hours, fixed in advance with the tutor, keeps weekly classes on time.
