What home tuition costs in Nanded

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

CBSE home tutors in Nanded: NCERT taught for understanding, from Class 6 to the board years

Many Nanded children study under the Maharashtra State Board, so a CBSE family may be choosing a tutor from a pool where many teachers know the SSC textbooks better than NCERT. That is the first thing to check. This guide sets out what CBSE expects at each stage under the 2026–27 curriculum, how its papers differ from the SSC and HSC, what happens when a child moves between the two systems, and how a CBSE tutor reaches homes on either side of the Godavari. It also covers what a useful session looks like and what to test at the free demo.

A CBSE child in a State Board city

Nanded falls under the State Board's Latur division for the SSC and HSC, and schools here teach in Marathi, English, Urdu and semi-English mediums. CBSE schools sit alongside them, usually teaching in English, with NCERT books at the centre. The subjects carry the same names on both sides, but the books, the order of chapters and the style of question differ, so a tutor who has spent years on SSC papers needs to show that they know NCERT and CBSE's own sample papers just as well.

Ask any tutor which CBSE classes they have taught recently and which sample paper they would use for your child's class this year. A clear answer is a good sign. A tutor who mainly teaches State Board students may still be right for Classes 6 to 8, where the basics are much the same, but the board years need someone at home with the CBSE marking scheme. Our Maharashtra Board home tutor in Nanded page covers the SSC and HSC for comparison.

From Class 6 to Class 12, stage by stage

What each CBSE stage asks of a Nanded student
ClassesWho examinesWhere children slipWhat tuition should do
6 to 8The schoolFraction work, signed numbers, and careless reading of science textRepair the basics and insist on written working
9The school: 80 written, 20 internalHarder algebra and harder science arrive in the same yearChapter tests every fortnight; a decision about the Advanced paper
10CBSE, 80 marks plus 20 assessed by the schoolCase-based questions and incomplete answersSample papers marked against CBSE's own scheme
11The schoolA steep start in physics, chemistry and mathsSecure every Class 11 chapter that Class 12 builds on
12CBSE, theory plus practical or internal marksRevising everything while entrance practice continuesOne plan for both

A Class 10 student needs 33% in each subject to pass. When algebra seems to collapse in Class 9, the cause usually lies in fractions or simple equations from earlier years, so tuition in the middle classes should mend those gaps before moving faster.

What the 2026–27 curriculum means for Classes 9 and 10

In Class 9, every student sits one shared 80-mark maths paper and one shared science paper. Beyond that, a student may opt for an Advanced paper worth 25 marks, in either subject, in both, or in none; all its questions are higher-order and draw on extra content. Those marks stay outside the aggregate, though a score of 50% or more is recorded on the marksheet. Advanced is for a child who likes the subject and wants more, not a remedy for low marks. The split into Basic and Standard maths is being phased out, and the 2026–27 Class 10 batch is the final one to take it.

Class 10 now brings two board examinations. Everyone must sit the first. A student who passes it can use the second to raise marks in at most three subjects chosen from science, mathematics, social science and the languages. Treat the first sitting as the one that counts and the second as a fallback. For a Nanded family used to the SSC calendar, it helps to note that the second sitting is an option, not a re-run of the whole exam.

Marks in Classes 11 and 12

How CBSE splits senior subjects in the 2026–27 curriculum
Subjects and codesTheoryOther component
Physics 042, Chemistry 043, Biology 0447030 for practical work
Mathematics 041 or Applied Mathematics 241 (only one)8020 internal
Accountancy 055, Business Studies 054, Economics 0308020 internal

The Class 12 paper covers the whole year's syllabus, and the design of each paper is announced with the sample paper, so confirm the tutor is using the current one. Useful reading for the board year: Class 12 physics strategies. A student also aiming at entrance exams should read JEE home tutor in Nanded or NEET home tutor in Nanded.

Competency questions start with reading

Roughly half of each CBSE secondary paper is competency-based: a case or source passage, a data table or an everyday situation, with questions that test whether an idea can be used. A child who knows the chapter can still lose these marks by reading too fast. For a child whose home language is Marathi, Urdu or Hindi, the English of the passage can be a second hurdle. In each session, take one passage slowly: underline what is given, name the concept it points to, and only then write. In maths, turn the words into an equation before touching any numbers. NCERT exemplar problems and CBSE's sample papers are the right material; general worksheets seldom match the style.

Moving between CBSE and the State Board

Changes of board happen in Nanded for ordinary reasons: a family arrives from another state, or a CBSE student joins junior college for the HSC after Class 10. Each move needs a short bridging plan.

  • CBSE Class 10 to HSC Science. The HSC uses its own subject codes, such as Physics 54, Chemistry 55 and Biology 56, and has two maths papers with near-identical names, 40 and 88. Find out which applies and let the tutor map the first term's chapters.
  • Arriving mid-school from another state. Share the old syllabus and the new school's board with the tutor, so gaps are found in the first month, not at the first exam.
  • State Board to CBSE. The child may know the content but not the case-based style or the length of a full CBSE answer. Two or three marked sample papers early on show the gap quickly.

Inside a useful CBSE session

A good session starts by going through the work the child did alone since the last visit, marked line by line, not glanced at. Then comes one new idea, taught from the NCERT page the school uses. The session ends with one answer written in full, against the clock, in the form the board expects: steps in maths, units and diagrams in science, and complete sentences in social science. The tutor writes down what to practise before the next visit, and a parent can read it in a minute. For science across the middle classes, see our science home tutor in Nanded page, and for maths, the maths home tutor in Nanded page.

Getting a CBSE tutor to six Nanded localities

  • Waghala. In New Nanded, south of the river, where children attend State Board, CBSE and ICSE schools. Keep recent school tests ready for the first class.
  • Kautha. Children often come home by school bus or van, so agree a start time after they have eaten and rested. Say old Kautha or Navin Kautha.
  • Dhanegaon. New colonies are hard to find on a phone map; send the colony, house number, a landmark and a pin.
  • Pawdewadi. Fewer tutors live on this north-western edge, so be flexible: two weekday classes and a longer weekend one.
  • Wadi Bk. Write "Wadi Bk, Nanded" in full and keep one tutor through Classes 9 and 10 if you can.
  • Canal Road. Name the colony and the side of the road; ask whether the tutor can teach two children back to back with separate plans.

The New Nanded and Waghala and Taroda and North-West Nanded zone pages describe these parts of the city, and the Nanded home tutors page lists every locality.

At home, online, or a mix?

For Classes 6 to 9, a tutor at the table usually works better: younger children need someone watching their working and keeping them focused. From Class 10, online sessions suit sample-paper reviews and short doubt calls, and they make sense on the outer edges of the city, where fewer CBSE tutors live close by. Many families settle on one home visit and one online session a week with the same tutor. Our online tuition in Nanded page explains how to set that up.

Questions to put to a CBSE tutor at the demo

  1. Which CBSE classes have you taught in the last two years, and which sample paper would you use for this class?
  2. How would you handle a case-based question with my child? Show us on one.
  3. What will a full-mark answer look like in this chapter, and how will you mark my child's attempts?
  4. For Class 9: would you suggest the Advanced paper, and why?
  5. Which day and hour can you keep all year, and how will you reach us?

If the match is wrong, ask for another demo; switching tutor later is free. The demo class checklist has more ideas.

CBSE Home Tutor in Nanded (Classes 6–12): common questions

What do CBSE home tutors in Nanded charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each CBSE tutor in Nanded sets their own fee, and it is visible on the profile before you book the demo.

How do I find a CBSE tutor for my child in Nanded?

Send the class, subjects, school medium, your locality with a landmark and your free hours. We reply with two or three matched CBSE tutors, each with the fee shown, and the first class is a free demo. If the first match does not suit, we arrange another, and switching later is free.

Why should a Nanded CBSE family check that the tutor knows NCERT well?

A tutor who teaches mainly State Board students in Nanded may work every day from SSC textbooks rather than NCERT. Ask which CBSE classes they taught recently and which sample paper they would use this year. For the board classes, choose a tutor who works from NCERT and the CBSE marking scheme.

What is the optional Advanced paper for CBSE Class 9 students?

It is an extra 25-mark paper in maths, science or both that a Class 9 student may choose under the 2026–27 curriculum. Every question is higher-order and uses additional content. The marks stay outside the aggregate, though 50% or more is noted on the marksheet, so it suits a child who enjoys the subject.

Should a Nanded Class 10 CBSE student plan around the second board exam?

No, a Nanded student should plan around the first sitting, which is compulsory; a student who passes may sit the second to improve up to three subjects. Those subjects come from science, mathematics, social science and the languages. Treat the second sitting only as a fallback, not as part of the plan.

What changes when a CBSE student in Nanded joins junior college for the HSC?

The HSC uses its own subject codes and papers, so a CBSE student joining junior college needs a short bridging plan. Physics is 54, Chemistry 55 and Biology 56, and maths comes as two near-identical papers, 40 and 88. Ask the tutor to map the first term's chapters against what your child already covered.

How are CBSE Class 12 science subjects split between theory and practical?

Under the 2026–27 senior curriculum, Physics, Chemistry and Biology each carry 70 marks for theory and 30 for practical work. Mathematics or Applied Mathematics, of which a student takes one, has 80 theory marks and 20 internal. The commerce subjects follow the same 80 and 20 split.

How can a tutor help a Marathi or Urdu speaking child with CBSE case-based questions?

A tutor helps by slowing the reading down before any answer is written. Take one case or source passage each session: underline what is given, name the concept, then answer. For a child whose home language is Marathi, Urdu or Hindi, the tutor can explain in that language while the written answer stays in English.

Is online tuition suitable for CBSE students on the edge of Nanded?

Online tuition suits CBSE students on the edges of Nanded well from Class 10 upwards, especially for sample-paper reviews and short doubt calls. Younger children in Classes 6 to 9 usually do better with a tutor at the table. Many families combine one home visit with one online session from the same tutor.

What should a Nanded parent ask a CBSE tutor in the demo class?

A Nanded parent should ask which CBSE classes the tutor has taught recently and which sample paper they would use. Ask them to work one case-based question with your child and to show what a full-mark answer looks like. Finally, confirm the weekly slot and how they will reach your home.
