Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Science changes shape between Class 6 and Class 10. It begins as one friendly book about plants, magnets and mixtures and ends as three sciences that each bring their own vocabulary and drawings. In Nanded that change also happens in different languages: a child may hear Marathi, Urdu or Hindi at home and learn science in Marathi, English, Urdu or a semi-English class. The State Board sets two Science and Technology papers, CBSE one long paper and ICSE three. NXTutors suggests two or three science tutors who know your child's board and can reach your part of the city. Fees are on the shortlist before anyone visits, and lesson one is a free demo.
The CBSE and ICSE sections here are by Aaditya Kashyap. What a tutor works on shifts as a child moves up, and a parent can follow it with one check at each stage:
Until the board year, a single teacher for physics, chemistry and biology is normally wiser: one person sees whether a numerical went wrong in the arithmetic or in the concept. Matching is explained on our national science home tutor page, and Class 9, the year that surprises many parents, has its own Class 9 science tutor page.
Most Nanded children study under the Maharashtra State Board (MSBSHSE), whose results statistics place Nanded in its Latur division. For Standards IX and X, the board's scheme for Science and Technology (code 72) divides the subject into Part 1 and Part 2. Each part is its own 40-mark paper of two hours, written on a different day. The other 20 marks are internal and include a science project spread over the two terms: choosing and planning it in the first, carrying it out and writing the report in the second.
So neither part can drift, and the project needs a place in the weekly plan. Practise from the board's textbooks and its sample question papers on mahahsscboard.in, and read the current scheme there. Other SSC subjects are covered on our Maharashtra Board home tutor in Nanded page.
Every Part 1 and Part 2 paper follows the same four-question pattern in the board's scheme. Knowing it lets a tutor build practice that looks like the real thing:
| Question | What it contains | Marks | Practice idea |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 (A) and 1 (B) | Five textbook multiple-choice items, then five one-mark items such as odd one out, correlation, match the pairs, right or wrong, or a name or molecular formula | 10 | A short quick-fire round at the start of every lesson |
| 2 (A) | Two of three "give scientific reasons" questions | 4 | Answers that name the principle, not just repeat the fact |
| 2 (B) | Three of five two-mark questions | 6 | Two clear points per answer |
| 3 | Five of eight three-mark questions, with the harder numericals | 15 | The biggest block, so the most practice time in Standard X |
| 4 | One of two five-mark questions, such as a diagram with explanation or a passage | 5 | One long answer each week, marked against the scheme |
The paper's instructions earn or lose marks too. All questions are compulsory, labelled diagrams are expected wherever they help, and each main question starts on a new page. In the multiple-choice items the student writes only the option number, and only the first attempt counts.
CBSE examines 80 marks itself and leaves 20 to the school, split into four internal components of 5 marks. Unit sizes vary a lot, and the timetable should reflect that:
| Unit | Marks | Habit |
|---|---|---|
| Chemical Substances: Nature and Behaviour | 25 | Balance every equation and name compounds without pausing |
| World of Living | 25 | Complete labels; processes written in the right order |
| Effects of Current | 13 | Circuit numericals with the unit on every line |
| Natural Phenomena | 12 | Ruler-drawn rays through lenses, off mirrors and into the eye |
| Our Environment | 5 | Short, exact definitions |
Looked at by skill, 50% of the marks reward remembering and understanding, 30% applying, and the remaining 20% analysing and evaluating. For notes on each chapter, open our CBSE Class 10 science notes; for a full-year plan, visit the Class 10 science tutor page.
CBSE's sample paper for 2026-27 runs to 39 questions: twenty one-mark objective items (multiple-choice and assertion–reason), six two-mark and seven three-mark short answers, three four-mark questions built on a case or data, and three five-mark long answers. Each mark wants its own clear point. Practise on CBSE's own sample papers and marking schemes from cbseacademic.nic.in.
This session the board leaves three topics to internal assessment, so they never appear on the board paper: evolution; how elements are classified in the periodic table; and electromagnetic induction, including the generator and the motor. Teach them well anyway, since Class 11 builds on all three, but spend board revision on other chapters. CBSE also names 14 experiments in the curriculum that questions refer to, which turns a tidy practical file into a revision book. The main exam is for everyone. A later, optional sitting lets a student try to raise as many as three subjects, science among them. Follow cbse.gov.in for the timetable, and see our board-year planner for a month-by-month plan.
CISCE examines ICSE Class 10 science as three papers, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and each carries internal marks as well. Each school chooses its own textbooks inside the council's syllabus, so lessons should follow the school's books along with the specimen papers published on cisce.org. Precise definitions and numericals worked to the last line are what score. Nanded has fewer tutors with recent ICSE practice than State Board tutors, so say "ICSE" at the outset; including online tutors in the search gives more options.
Younger students are usually taught in the gap after school and before the evening meal. That only works when the tutor can find the house first time and the hour stays fixed. Our Nanded page lists tutors in every area.
In Vazirabad many flats sit above shops on Vazirabad Road, so give the building, floor and ground-floor shop, and pick an hour soon after school before the evening crowd. Shivaji Nagar is mostly family homes; write Nanded with the name, since many cities have a Shivaji Nagar. In Hyder Bagh, also spelt Haider Bagh, add the lane and a corner shop, and tell the tutor which language your child learns science in.
Harsh Nagar and Vasant Nagar sit beside Anand Nagar, and a tutor living in one can usually teach in the others. Give the building and flat number and name the nearest of the three colonies. For a Vasant Nagar child in Class 10, weekend revision added to two weekday lessons is a common plan.
Taroda has two parts, Taroda Bk and Taroda Kh, so always say which, and add the colony and a map pin. Families who have moved here recently may have a child who changed board; bring the old school's chapter list to the first lesson.
The Vazirabad and Shivaji Nagar and Anand Nagar and Vasant Nagar zone pages collect local tips, and the Nanded home tuition guide covers every part of the city, New Nanded included.
Some Nanded children move from Marathi or Urdu medium to English around Class 6 or Class 8, and others sit in semi-English classes where science is taught in English. Often the ideas are fine and the words are the problem. A patient tutor explains a term in the home language, then has the child write the answer in the exam's language. A small personal glossary helps: the textbook word, its meaning in the child's own words, and a sketch beside it, revised once a week. Diagrams deserve the same care, because labels are marked in the exam's language too.
Use the free demo to see whether the tutor raises these points unasked while teaching the chapter the class is on. A quick spoken recap in the home language at the close of each topic helps too. More ideas are in our demo class checklist. Unhappy with the first demo? Another tutor on your shortlist can take the next one, and any later change of tutor costs nothing.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own rates. With a younger child, ask how much of the year goes on new chapters and how much on revision, and whether a visit each week could be replaced by an online class. You see every fee before the demo, and the Nanded home tuition fees guide suggests more questions.
Your request needs five details: class and board; the science topic or habit that concerns you; which language the school teaches in and which you speak at home; locality plus a landmark; and your open afternoons. We send a shortlist of two or three science tutors with fees, and you choose who comes for the free demo. When no good match can come at your time, we propose online lessons or a home-and-online mix; see online tutors for Nanded. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). Senior students should look at Nanded's physics, chemistry and biology pages. In other Maharashtra cities, see science tutors in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar or the Solapur page.
Science teachers living in Nanded who want students nearby can see open requests on the Nanded tuition jobs page.

Send the class and board, the science topic that worries you, the school medium and home language, your locality and your free afternoons. NXTutors replies with two or three science tutors and their fees. The first class is a free demo, and you can change tutor later at no cost if the fit is wrong.
SSC Science and Technology is examined as two separate papers, Part 1 and Part 2, each worth 40 marks and written on different days. Another 20 marks are internal, including a science project across the two terms. Nanded students should give both parts equal weekly time from Standard IX.
Question 3 carries the most, 15 marks, with any five of eight three-mark questions, including the harder numericals. Questions 1 and 2 together reward short exact recall and "give scientific reasons" answers. A Nanded tutor should spend the most Standard X practice time on Question 3 while keeping a quick recall round in every lesson.
It is a two-mark question type where the student explains why something happens by naming the principle behind it. Simply repeating the fact earns little. The board's scheme includes two such questions out of three in each paper, so a tutor should have the child write and correct several of these answers every week.
For Nanded students on CBSE, Chemical Substances and World of Living carry 25 marks each out of 80 in 2026-27. Effects of Current brings 13, Natural Phenomena 12 and Our Environment 5. The school awards the other 20 marks internally, so tuition should give the two largest units the most weekly time.
Three topics are assessed only by the school in 2026-27: evolution, the periodic classification of elements, and electromagnetic induction with the generator and motor. They do not appear on the board paper. They still need proper teaching, because each one returns in Class 11, but board revision can focus elsewhere.
Yes, a tutor can explain each science term in the home language first and then have the child write the answer in the exam's language. A short personal glossary with the textbook word, its meaning and a small sketch helps. Mention the switch in your request so we match a tutor comfortable in both languages.
ICSE science tutors with recent experience are fewer in Nanded than State Board tutors, so name the board in your first message. ICSE Class 10 has three separate papers for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Including online tutors in the search gives more choice, and a home tutor can still check written work.
Hyder Bagh families should give both spellings, Hyder Bagh and Haider Bagh, with the lane and a corner shop. In Harsh Nagar, give the building and flat number and say it is near Anand Nagar. In both, mention the language your child learns science in, so the tutor can plan the first lesson.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
