What home tuition costs in Solapur

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

JEE home tutor in Solapur: one weekly plan for junior college, the HSC and the entrance

A Solapur student aiming at engineering usually carries three loads in Classes 11 and 12: the junior-college timetable, the HSC science papers set by the State Board, and JEE practice. Some also prepare for MHT-CET, and a few study CBSE or ISC instead of the State Board. A home tutor does not need to teach all of it. The useful job is smaller and sharper: fix the subject that keeps pulling marks down, go through every test paper with the student, and make sure board answers are still written properly while objective practice grows. Below: how to set that up, which slot tends to hold, and when an online specialist is the wiser pick. For the exam itself, read the national JEE home tutor page.

JEE Main and JEE Advanced in a few lines

JEE (Main) is run by the National Testing Agency. Under its 2026 bulletin, Paper 1 was taken on a computer and covered mathematics, physics and chemistry. Each subject had 20 multiple-choice questions and 5 questions with a numerical answer, so the paper held 75 questions worth 300 marks. A right answer gave four marks and a wrong one took away one, in both sections. There were two sessions in the year and the better score counted. The paper was offered in 13 languages and had no age limit.

JEE (Advanced) is the second stage. For 2026, a candidate had to be among the first 2,50,000 successful candidates in Paper 1 to be eligible. The 2026 brochure described two compulsory papers, offered in English and Hindi, and a limit of two attempts across consecutive years. Rules are revised from year to year, so treat the bulletin on jeemain.nta.nic.in and the brochure on jeeadv.ac.in as the only final word.

What the HSC physics paper adds to the picture

Most JEE students in Solapur also sit the HSC, and the State Board publishes how each science paper is built. Its evaluation scheme for Physics (54), Standard XII, is a good example of why board work cannot simply be left to the last month.

HSC Physics (54), Standard XII, from the board's evaluation scheme
PartWhat the scheme saysWhat it means beside JEE
Theory paper70 marks in four sections: ten MCQs and eight very short answers of one mark; any eight of twelve 2-mark answers; any eight of twelve 3-mark answers; any three of five 4-mark answersMost marks need written reasoning, not a chosen option
NumericalsBetween 12 and 15 marks, spread across every sectionJEE practice covers this part well; the rest needs explanation
CalculatorNot allowed; log tables areArithmetic by hand stays sharp, which also helps in JEE
UnitsSixteen, from rotational dynamics to semiconductor devices, each worth four or five marks without optionNo single chapter can be skipped safely
Practical30 marks with 11 to pass, plus a certified journal; at least three-quarters of the handbook experiments done during the yearPractical weeks must be kept free of extra JEE sessions

The scheme also wants each multiple-choice answer written out with its letter, and only the first attempt counts, so practise the board format every fortnight in Class 12. The board lists Mathematics & Statistics for science as code 40 and Chemistry as code 55; our Maharashtra Board home tutor in Solapur page explains the subject list.

The tutor's job, and what to leave to others

A good JEE tutor in Solapur keeps the work narrow. Four tasks usually earn the fee:

  • The weak subject first. A student who is comfortable in two subjects and unsure in one gains more from weekly work on that one than from a little help spread over all three.
  • Every test, reviewed. Each lost mark is sorted into one of four causes: the idea was not clear, the arithmetic slipped, the question was misread, or a guess went wrong. Each cause has a different fix.
  • A problem log. The student writes down every problem left unfinished in the week. The tutor asks what was tried before showing anything, so the student learns where the method broke.
  • Board writing kept alive. One HSC-style answer, written in full, in most sessions, plus a glance at the practical journal.

The tutor should not rebuild a course a college or class already runs. With a coaching class, follow its chapter order; without one, ask for a written chapter plan from the NTA syllabus in the first fortnight. The reasoning in our coaching or home tutor guide uses a different city as its example; the division of labour carries over to Solapur.

Finding a slot that lasts the whole year

Put the college timetable, any class timetable and practical days on one sheet, and offer the free hour that never moves.

Slots that usually hold for Solapur JEE students
SlotGood forWatch out for
Early morning before collegeOne focused home session in the weak subjectThe tutor must live on your side of the city for this to last
Weekend morningA timed practice paper, reviewed the same dayKeep it free of family visits in exam months
Late eveningA short online review of the day's problemsNot for new chapters; the student is tired

Families near the station sometimes keep shift or roster hours, so a tutor who can move one session by a day is worth asking for. The zone pages for Railway Lines and Pune Road and the central peths have more timing notes.

Six Solapur localities and the tutors who can reach them

Solapur's main corridors run out from the centre: Vijapur Road to the south, Hotgi Road to the south-east and Akkalkot Road to the east. A tutor who lives on your corridor is much more likely to keep coming through Class 12.

Reaching a JEE student in six localities
LocalityWhere tutors usually come fromWhat to send before the demo
Rajaswa NagarAlong Vijapur Road, from Jule and nearby coloniesThe colony, the side of Vijapur Road and a map pin
SaifulFrom the Vijapur Road belt on either side of Saiful ChowkBuilding and flat number, with the chowk as the marker
Sadar BazarFrom the centre, Railway Lines and the Hotgi Road sideThe lane and a shop or building the tutor can spot
MajrewadiFrom either Hotgi Road or Vijapur Road, since it sits between themThe colony name and which road the tutor should take
Sunil NagarFrom Akkalkot Road and the eastern colonies near the industrial areaThe colony, the house number and a map pin
ShelgiFewer tutors live close by; online often fills the gapA pin and a plain landmark; ask how often each tutor can visit

The Vijapur Road and Jule Solapur, Hotgi Road and Sadar Bazar and Akkalkot Road and East Solapur zone pages describe these areas further. Every locality is on the Solapur home tutors page, and the Solapur home tuition guide walks through the city.

State Board, CBSE or ISC, and the language of study

  • State Board (HSC). The board's own textbooks and evaluation schemes set the school side. The entrance syllabus overlaps a great deal, but chapter order and depth differ, so the tutor should map HSC chapters against the NTA syllabus early in Class 11.
  • CBSE. NCERT is the textbook, so content lines up closely. The usual gap is written answers with full steps. See CBSE home tutor in Solapur.
  • ISC. The council's own texts run in their own order, so school and entrance chapters can arrive months apart. See ICSE home tutor in Solapur.
  • Language. Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Urdu are all spoken in Solapur homes. If science was in Marathi up to SSC, a tutor can explain a new term once in the home language, then use the paper's word from then on.

For school-side subject help, see our Solapur maths, physics and chemistry pages. Students in Maharashtra can also take MHT-CET, which the State Common Entrance Test Cell conducts; its 2026 notices list separate PCM and PCB groups. Read its syllabus and notices only on cetcell.mahacet.org.

At the table or on a screen

A practical split for Solapur JEE students
SubjectUsual formatWhy
PhysicsHome sessionsErrors start in the set-up, so the tutor has to see the first lines being written
MathematicsHome sessions, with paper reviews done onlineWorking runs long on paper; going over a marked paper is easy on a shared screen
ChemistryOnline for reactions and facts; home sessions if mole and equilibrium sums are weakQuick recall quizzes work well over video

When the problems get harder, a specialist in Pune or elsewhere who teaches over video may suit your child more than the closest tutor. For online maths or physics, set up a phone camera over the notebook, or use a writing tablet, so each step is visible as it is written. Read online tuition in Solapur and our home or online tutor comparison for more.

Year by year: Class 11, Class 12, and trying again

Class 11

After SSC, mechanics, early calculus and mole calculations feel like a big jump. Keep an error notebook from the first week of term. Chapters that slide in Class 11 come back in Class 12 and in both entrance papers, so this is the year where steady weekly sessions pay most.

Class 12

New chapters, revision, practice papers, the HSC paper and the practical all share the same months. Mark the board and journal weeks on a calendar at the start.

A second attempt

Go through last year's paper question by question to see where marks went, then rebuild those chapters first. Daytime home sessions open up a wider choice of tutors. Check eligibility in the current bulletin and brochure before you commit.

For physics in depth, read our JEE physics tutor page. For medical entrance instead, see NEET home tutor in Solapur.

What to test in the JEE demo

  1. Did the tutor ask about the board, the junior-college timetable and the latest test before teaching anything?
  2. Hand over two or three half-done problems from the week. Does the tutor locate the broken step and then step back while your child finishes?
  3. Ask when your child should leave a question blank, given that a wrong answer costs a mark.
  4. Ask how the tutor will keep HSC answers and the practical journal on track in Class 12.
  5. Is the agreed day realistic from the tutor's home, week after week?

Not the right match? We arrange a demo with someone else, and a change of tutor later costs nothing. Our demo class checklist lists further checks.

Fees and the first step

JEE Home Tutor in Solapur: common questions

How much does a JEE home tutor in Solapur charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every Solapur JEE tutor sets their own rate, and it is shown on the profile before you book a demo.

How do I start with a JEE tutor for my child in Solapur?

Send the class, board, subjects, college hours and your colony with a landmark, and we reply with two or three matched tutors. Each fee is visible before you choose. The first lesson is a free demo at home or online, and if the tutor does not suit your child later, switching is free.

What should a home JEE tutor in Solapur actually work on each week?

A Solapur JEE tutor should focus on the weakest of the three subjects, review every test paper and work through the week's unfinished problems. Most sessions should also include one HSC-style written answer, so board marks do not slip while objective practice grows through Class 11 and Class 12.

Does the HSC physics paper in Solapur allow a calculator?

No, the State Board's evaluation scheme for HSC Physics (54) does not allow a calculator, though log tables are permitted. Numericals carry between 12 and 15 of the 70 theory marks and appear in every section, so a Solapur student should keep doing arithmetic by hand alongside JEE practice.

How was JEE Main Paper 1 built in 2026 for Solapur candidates?

JEE Main Paper 1 in 2026 had 75 questions for 300 marks, with 20 multiple-choice and 5 numerical questions in each of maths, physics and chemistry. A right answer earned four marks and a wrong one lost one. Solapur candidates could sit two sessions, and the better score counted.

Can a Marathi-medium SSC student from Solapur prepare for JEE?

Yes, a Solapur student who studied science in Marathi up to SSC can prepare well for JEE with a tutor who bridges the terms. The tutor explains a new term once in Marathi and then uses the paper's word. The 2026 JEE Main bulletin listed 13 paper languages; check the current list.

Which weekly slot tends to last for a JEE student in Solapur?

For most Solapur JEE students, an early-morning session before college and a weekend morning for a timed paper are the slots that last. A short online review late in the evening also works. Avoid starting new chapters in weeks of practicals or terminal exams.

Should JEE physics tuition in Solapur be at home or online?

Physics usually works better at home in Solapur, because the tutor needs to watch how each problem is set up. Maths can mix home sessions with online paper reviews, and chemistry recall suits short online checks. For hard entrance problems, an online specialist from another city can be the stronger choice.

Is MHT-CET covered by JEE tutors in Solapur?

Ask in the demo whether the Solapur JEE tutor also prepares students for MHT-CET, since much of the school science overlaps. The State Common Entrance Test Cell conducts MHT-CET, and its 2026 notices listed separate PCM and PCB groups. Read the syllabus and notices only on cetcell.mahacet.org.

Can a repeat JEE student in Solapur get daytime home sessions?

Yes, a student taking JEE again in Solapur is often free in the daytime, which widens the choice of tutors willing to visit. Start by reviewing the previous paper question by question, then rebuild the chapters where marks were lost. Check eligibility and attempt limits in the current bulletin and brochure.
