Solapur Home Tuition Guide: Old Peths, Railway Lines, Vijapur Road, Hotgi Road and Akkalkot Road
Tutors in Solapur tend to think of the city by its roads. The old peths form the centre; the railway side runs out west along the Solapur–Pune road; Vijapur Road carries a long belt of colonies to the south; Hotgi Road heads south-east past the airport; and Akkalkot Road leads into the eastern colonies, with Shelgi on the north-eastern side. Below, all five zones and twenty localities, with the directions and timing that make a first visit go smoothly.
Reference points that tutors across Solapur know
Most tutors travel by two-wheeler or auto, so a known junction beats a long postal address. Saat Rasta in Navi Peth and Hutatma Chowk are the central markers. Solapur railway station anchors the railway side, and Bale has a small railway halt of its own on the western edge. Kambar Talav, a lake, marks the start of the Vijapur Road side, and Saiful Chowk is a junction further down that road. Solapur Airport, often called the Hotgi airport, sits on the Hotgi Road side.
| Zone | Markers to mention | Homes you will find | Send before the first visit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Central Solapur Peths | Saat Rasta, Hutatma Chowk | Older houses on narrow lanes, flats above shops | The shop or building beside your door |
| Railway Lines and Pune Road | Solapur railway station, the Solapur–Pune road, Bale halt | Flats and older houses near the station, colony homes further out | Building, wing and flat; a map pin for Bale |
| Vijapur Road and Jule Solapur | Kambar Talav, Saiful Chowk | Independent houses beside newer apartment buildings | Colony name and which side of the road |
| Hotgi Road and Sadar Bazar | Sadar Bazar at the city end, Solapur Airport further out | Central homes in Sadar Bazar, residential colonies along the road | The colony added to "Hotgi Road" |
| Akkalkot Road and East Solapur | Akkalkot Road, the Hyderabad road for Shelgi | Residential colonies, many of them away from the centre | Solapur and Akkalkot Road written with the address |
Central Solapur Peths
The old trading heart of the city. The four peths sit so close together that a tutor living in one can often take a class in another the same evening, which widens the choice for families here.
Navi Peth: narrow lanes behind busy shopfronts, with Saat Rasta as the junction most people use for directions. A lane name alone is rarely enough; add the shop next to your door and the floor.
Raviwar Peth: part of the cluster of old peths beside Bhavani Peth and Sakhar Peth, leaning towards the Akkalkot Road side. Homes here reflect the city's mix of home languages, so say which ones your child is easy in.
Sakhar Peth: on the eastern side of the old city, next to Raviwar Peth, with lanes running towards Akkalkot Road. Many homes hold large families, so decide before the demo where the hour will happen: a back room, a terrace corner or a relative's flat close by.
Bhavani Peth (also Bhawani Peth): the northern side of the old core, near Murarji Peth and Damani Nagar. Several Maharashtra cities, Pune among them, have a locality of this name, so write Solapur in the request.
Railway Lines and Pune Road
This zone runs from the station side of the centre out to the western edge on the Solapur–Pune road. Further out, fewer tutors live close by, so families often mix home and online classes.
Railway Lines: a residential part of central Solapur on the railway side, close to Murarji Peth, Navi Peth and Sadar Bazar. Some parents here may work changing shifts; if your roster moves week to week, say so, and ask for two fixed days plus one that can shift.
Murarji Peth: between the railway side and the older peths, where shops and offices share streets with flats and older houses. HSC commerce help, in accounts and economics, is a common request alongside English and maths for younger children.
Damani Nagar: a residential colony in north-central Solapur, beside Bhawani Peth and the Solapur–Pune road side. Its streets are mostly homes, which makes a calm after-school slot easier to hold. Many requests are for young children working on reading, handwriting and number sense.
Bale: on the western edge along the Solapur–Pune road, with its own small railway halt. Colony names here can be hard to find on a map, so share a pin with the plot or house number. Fewer tutors live nearby, so a home tutor for the core subject and an online class for another is a workable mix.
Vijapur Road and Jule Solapur
Vijapur Road, also written Bijapur Road, leaves the centre past Kambar Talav and runs south through Jule towards Karnataka. Colonies line both sides of it, so the road name alone covers a wide stretch.
Vijapur Road: the corridor itself, from older colonies near the centre to newer ones further out. Name your colony, the nearest chowk and the side of the road you live on. For JEE or NEET foundation work in Classes 8 to 10, ask how the tutor keeps school marks safe first.
Jule Solapur (usually just Jule): a large residential area between Vijapur Road and the Hotgi Road side, with Soregaon and Majrewadi nearby. With siblings at home, ask whether one tutor can take back-to-back classes with a separate plan for each child.
Rajaswa Nagar: a quiet residential colony on the south-western side, off Vijapur Road and near Soregaon. Some students here choose science after SSC with NEET in mind, so ask how a biology tutor balances the NCERT books with the HSC biology syllabus.
Saiful: named after Saiful Chowk on Vijapur Road, a marker most tutors in the city recognise. Add your own lane, as several streets branch off there. If your child is changing board after Class 10, say so, so the tutor bridges the gap instead of repeating old work.
Hotgi Road and Sadar Bazar
Hotgi Road starts at Sadar Bazar in central Solapur and runs south-east past the airport towards Hotgi village and its railway junction. The colony name is the most useful part of any address here.
Hotgi Road: a long road with residential colonies along it. Requests often come in the months before SSC or HSC papers; ask for a revision calendar with chapters by week and timed practice papers.
Sadar Bazar: at the city end of Hotgi Road, close to Railway Lines, Raviwar Peth and Budhwar Peth. Other Indian cities have a Sadar Bazar too, so write Solapur and the nearest chowk. Families here may follow the State Board, CBSE or ICSE; for ICSE, ask about the Council's specimen papers in the demo.
Sainath Nagar: a residential colony on Hotgi Road in the south-east. In homes where both parents work through the day, agree a two-line note after each class: what was covered and what was set.
Majrewadi: between Vijapur Road and Hotgi Road, with the airport area, Jule, Shanti Nagar and Gajraj Nagar among its neighbours. Many homes have children in the early primary years, where a tutor works as a homework partner for reading, tables and neat work.
Akkalkot Road and East Solapur
Akkalkot Road runs east from the centre through Shastri Nagar, with Sunil Nagar and Neelam Nagar beyond it near an industrial area, and Shelgi on the north-eastern side towards the Hyderabad road. Kumbhari lies further out on Akkalkot Road, where National Highways 150E and 465 cross.
Shastri Nagar: a residential colony on the Akkalkot Road side. The name exists in many Indian cities, so always add Solapur and Akkalkot Road. Where a child is unsure of science or maths words in the school's medium, ask the tutor in the demo how they would build a simple glossary week by week.
Sunil Nagar: beyond Shastri Nagar towards the industrial belt off Akkalkot Road. Families here are spread across the State Board and CBSE, with many children in Classes 6 to 9. A short diagnostic in the free demo shows where to begin.
Neelam Nagar (also Nilam Nagar): a residential area in east Solapur near the industrial area off Akkalkot Road. Tutors from the centre can reach it, but for senior physics or spoken English an online specialist is often easier to schedule.
Shelgi: on the north-eastern side towards the Hyderabad road, grown from a village of the same name. Fewer tutors live within easy reach than in the centre, so compare how often each suggested tutor can come. A longer weekend class can replace rushed weekday visits.

Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Urdu are all spoken as first languages in the city, and schools teach in more than one medium. Put the school's medium and your child's home languages in every request.
Home, online or a mix
Younger children, and students who need someone beside them while they write, usually do well with a tutor at the table. Online lessons make sense for a distant specialist, a late slot or a home on the city's edge. You can add an online tutor for Solapur students to a home plan whenever it helps, and tutors listed for Pune and Mumbai also teach online. Our post on home tuition fees in Solapur explains how to compare quotes, and home tutor or online tutor weighs the two formats.
How NXTutors can help
Write to us with the class, board, medium, subjects and the Solapur locality you live in. Our shortlist has two or three matched tutors: people living closest to you come first, then others in your zone and across Solapur, and online tutors elsewhere in India if the subject or language calls for it. Every tutor's fee is visible before the demo. The opening class with each one costs nothing, and moving to a different tutor later is free as well. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete, as set out on how we check tutors.
Open home tutors in Solapur to begin, read the demo class checklist before the first visit, and request a free demo class. If you teach and live in Solapur, open family requests appear on Solapur tuition jobs.
Frequently asked questions
Which parts of Solapur does this tuition guide cover?
This guide covers twenty Solapur localities, grouped into five zones that follow the city's main roads. The zones are Central Solapur Peths, Railway Lines and Pune Road, Vijapur Road and Jule Solapur, Hotgi Road and Sadar Bazar, and Akkalkot Road and East Solapur. Every locality has its own NXTutors page with directions, timing notes and nearby tutors.
What directions should we give a tutor coming to our Solapur home?
Give a tutor coming to your Solapur home a junction they already know, such as Saat Rasta, Hutatma Chowk or Saiful Chowk, plus your colony and house or flat number. On long roads like Vijapur Road or Hotgi Road, the colony name matters more than the road. On the edge of the city, in Bale or Shelgi, send a map pin too.
Why should we mention the school's medium when asking for a Solapur tutor?
Mention the school's medium because it decides which tutors can teach your child in the language of the textbooks and exam papers. Solapur homes speak Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Urdu, and the school may use a different language. Add the languages your child is comfortable in, so tutors can explain hard steps in a way your child follows.
Can NXTutors find a Maharashtra State Board tutor in Solapur?
Yes, NXTutors can find a Maharashtra State Board tutor in Solapur once you tell us SSC or HSC, the class and the medium. Tutors who teach that board and live nearest to you head the list. Where nobody suitable lives close enough for home visits, online tutors familiar with the state syllabus fill the gap and still work from the board's textbooks.
What happens if no home tutor lives near our colony in Solapur?
When no home tutor lives near your Solapur colony, the search moves outward to your zone, the wider city and finally online tutors from across India. In outer areas such as Bale or Shelgi, a common answer is one local tutor for the main school subject plus an online specialist for a second subject. Each new tutor still starts with a free demo.
How does NXTutors check the tutors it suggests in Solapur?
Every tutor in Solapur who joins NXTutors goes through an ID check, and the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete. You receive two or three matched tutors per request, with their fees shown ahead of the demo. Trying each tutor in a first class costs nothing, and you may switch to someone else later without paying a fee.
