What home tuition costs in Solapur

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

ICSE and ISC home tutors in Solapur: written English, three science papers and a careful choice of electives

ICSE families in Solapur are a smaller group than State Board families, and that shapes the search for a tutor. Many local teachers know the SSC and HSC well, and fewer have marked papers to the council's standard. CISCE wants long, exact answers in English in almost every subject, examines Class 10 science as three separate papers, and adds compulsory practical and project work in the ISC years. Read on for the shape of the CISCE years, the places where a tutor changes marks, the choice after Class 10 and the way tutors reach each part of Solapur. Abhinandan Tiwary wrote the ICSE maths advice, Aaditya Kashyap the science advice, and Ajay Vatsyayan the section on ISC maths.

Why an ICSE tutor needs checking in Solapur

Children in Solapur follow the State Board, CBSE or ICSE. We have no reliable figures for each, so we do not publish shares. What we can say is that the three boards ask for different kinds of answers. The State Board's papers follow its own published evaluation schemes, with set question types and marks per section. CBSE builds about half of its secondary papers on case-based questions. ICSE uses its own prescribed texts and rewards complete, well-written English answers, and every year the council releases an Analysis of Pupil Performance that shows, paper by paper, where marks slipped.

So a tutor who is excellent at SSC algebra may still mark an ICSE answer too generously. Ask every tutor to mark one of your child's written answers in front of you during the demo, and judge from that.

The three subject groups in ICSE Class 10

ICSE Class 10 groups, as set in the CISCE regulations
GroupContentsExam : internal
Group I, compulsoryEnglish; a second language; History, Civics & Geography80 : 20
Group II, two or three subjectsFor example Mathematics, Science, Commercial Studies, Economics, Environmental Science, or a modern or classical language80 : 20
Group III, one subjectAn applied subject such as Computer Applications, Art, Physical Education, Economic or Commercial Applications50 : 50

With half its marks internal, the Group III subject repays steady effort through the year. Projects left to the last term cost marks that were easy to collect earlier. A tutor can simply keep a dated list and check it monthly.

Mathematics and the three science papers

ICSE Mathematics is a single 80-mark paper, and the remaining 20 come from two or more assignments, each assessed by a teacher at school and again by an examiner from outside. The course mixes commercial arithmetic, including banking and shares, with algebra, trigonometry, geometry and statistics. Examiners want the working at every stage, so a correct final line with steps missing still loses marks.

Physics, Chemistry and Biology are three separate 80-mark papers, each with 20 internal marks for practical work. Strength in one does not carry over to the others. Decide early whether one tutor can teach all three well or whether the weakest needs its own specialist. The council's specimen papers and its subject-wise analysis are the references any ICSE tutor should be using.

Three habits that protect ICSE marks

  1. A revision rota. Class 9 chapters come back in the Class 10 papers, so every few weeks a session should revisit an older chapter from each paper.
  2. Timed writing from Class 9. Speed in long answers grows slowly. Starting it only in the final term is too late.
  3. A dated project list. Internal work for every subject, written down with deadlines and checked at the start of each month.

A typical session then has the tutor mark your child's own attempt line by line, teach one new topic, and finish with one full answer written against the clock. Our maths, science and English pages for Solapur cover those subjects in more depth.

ISC in Classes 11 and 12: rules to plan around

  • Subjects. English for everyone, plus three to five electives, with no more than six subjects in total.
  • Fixed early. After a date set in the Class 11 registration year, subjects cannot be changed, and no Class 12 subject can be taken that was not studied in Class 11.
  • Promotion. Moving to Class 12 needs 35% in four subjects including English, and 75% attendance.
  • Practicals. Compulsory wherever a subject has them. Physics cannot be combined with Engineering Science.
  • Certificate. Grades run from 1 to 9. Passing needs four subjects with English among them, along with Socially Useful Productive Work and Community Service.

In ISC Mathematics, theory is worth 80 marks and a project 20, in both years. The paper is examined in detail on our ISC maths tutor page and in the ICSE and ISC maths guide.

Class by class on the CISCE route

What each stage asks of a Solapur ICSE student
StageWhat countsUseful tuition
Classes 6–8School tests onlyFull sentences, all maths steps shown, precise science words
Class 9The two-year ICSE course beginsThe revision rota and weekly diagram practice from the first term
Class 10Council papers and internal marksTimed specimen papers, checked against the council's analysis
Class 11Electives fixed; promotion rules applyA careful subject choice and an early start on hard ISC topics
Class 12ISC theory, practicals and projectsSteady depth in every elective, with each practical and project deadline met

ISC science and the entrance exams

An ISC science student preparing for JEE or NEET follows two chapter orders. Entrance papers lean on NCERT, but the council has its own books and its own order, so one topic may be taught in school long before or after the class reaches it. Early in Class 11, a one-page table helps: ISC chapter on the left, NCERT chapter beside it, and the month each one is due. With that table the tutor can add NCERT phrasing and objective drills where the school course is thin, and protect long written answers and practical records where the entrance class ignores them. See JEE and NEET home tutors in Solapur.

After Class 10: ISC, CBSE or the State Board's HSC?

Three routes are open to a Solapur student after the ICSE. ISC continues the council's style, with deeper electives and more project work. CBSE switches the student to NCERT books, CBSE sample papers and tighter, textbook-close answers. Joining a junior college for the State Board's HSC means a new subject list with its own codes: English (01), the two compulsory subjects Health & Physical Education (30) and Environment Education & Water Security (31), and optional subjects such as Physics (54), Chemistry (55), Biology (56) and two different Mathematics & Statistics papers, 40 for arts and science and 88 for commerce. Each board publishes its own schemes, so read them before deciding. Our Maharashtra Board home tutor in Solapur and CBSE home tutor in Solapur pages explain each.

Whatever the choice, the weeks after Class 10 are a good time to read the first chapters of the new course and look at how its questions are framed. Because ISC subjects are fixed early, decide before Class 11 begins.

How ICSE tutors reach six Solapur localities

  • Sadar Bazar: central, close to Railway Lines, so more tutors can reach it; ask about the council's specimen papers in the free demo.
  • Hotgi Road: the road runs a long way south-east; the colony name and nearest chowk are what the tutor needs.
  • Sainath Nagar: a residential colony off Hotgi Road; send a map pin, and agree a short message after each class if both parents work.
  • Saiful: around Saiful Chowk on Vijapur Road; say which side of the road you are on.
  • Neelam Nagar: in east Solapur; give both spellings, Neelam and Nilam, so the tutor finds you on the map.
  • Shelgi: on the north-eastern side; fewer tutors live near, so compare how often each can visit.

ISC elective specialists are scarce in any city, so a local tutor for maths and science plus online sessions for one elective or literature is a sensible pattern. The Hotgi Road and Sadar Bazar and Akkalkot Road and East Solapur zone pages, the Solapur home tutors page and our Solapur home tuition guide have more local advice.

Home or online for ICSE in Solapur?

Up to Class 10, maths and the three sciences are worth a home tutor, since examiners mark the working line by line and a tutor beside the notebook catches errors as they happen. Online is the better answer for an ISC elective whose specialist lives in another city such as Pune or Mumbai, for short checks before exams, and for homes on the edge of Solapur. If maths or science goes online, set up a writing tablet or a phone camera above the notebook so every line is seen while it is written. See online tuition in Solapur.

Judging a tutor against the CISCE standard

  1. Which specimen paper and which year's council analysis will the tutor use?
  2. In maths, does the tutor insist on every step, correct units and a clearly stated answer?
  3. Will one tutor manage a physics sum and a labelled biology diagram equally well, or should the weakest science get a specialist?
  4. If an answer has the right content but clumsy English, does the tutor correct the writing too?
  5. For ISC projects and practical files, how does the tutor guide without doing the work?

There are two or three matched tutors on your list, fees are shown up front, and a later change of tutor is free. Every tutor who joins goes through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the check works).

Fees and getting started

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. In Solapur an ICSE or ISC fee depends on the class, how many papers need help, how close the exams are and how far the tutor travels. Our pricing guide and the post on home tuition fees in Solapur go into this.

Send ICSE or ISC, the class and subjects, your colony plus a landmark and the hours that are free, and the first lesson is a free demo. Look through tutor profiles, read the ICSE and ISC board hub, and tutors can find openings on Solapur tuition jobs.

ICSE Home Tutor in Solapur (ICSE & ISC, Classes 6–12): common questions

What is the fee for an ICSE or ISC home tutor in Solapur?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. In Solapur, an ICSE fee depends on the class, the number of papers and the tutor's journey.

How do I find an ICSE tutor in Solapur who marks to the council's standard?

Ask each suggested tutor to mark one of your child's written answers during the demo, and watch how strictly they check steps and English. We send two or three matched tutors with fees shown first. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.

How are ICSE Class 10 subjects grouped for a Solapur student?

ICSE Class 10 has three groups under the CISCE regulations. Group I is compulsory, Group II needs two or three subjects, and both are marked 80 for the exam and 20 internal. Group III is one applied subject with marks split 50 and 50, so steady project work pays.

Does ICSE examine physics, chemistry and biology as separate papers?

Yes, ICSE sets Physics, Chemistry and Biology as three separate 80-mark papers, each with 20 internal marks for practical work. Strength in one does not help the others, so a Solapur family should decide early whether one tutor covers all three or the weakest needs a specialist.

How is ICSE Mathematics marked for Class 10 students in Solapur?

ICSE Mathematics is one 80-mark paper plus 20 internal marks from at least two assignments, assessed by the school's teacher and an external examiner. Examiners want working at every stage, so a Solapur tutor should insist that each step is written, not only the final answer.

Can an ISC student in Solapur change subjects in Class 12?

No, ISC subjects are fixed after a date set in the Class 11 registration year, and a Class 12 subject must have been studied in Class 11. Moving up also needs 35% in four subjects including English and 75% attendance, so choose electives carefully before Class 11 starts.

What does a Solapur student face when moving from ICSE to the State Board HSC?

Moving from ICSE to the HSC means a new subject list with its own codes. English is 01, Health and Physical Education (30) and Environment Education and Water Security (31) are compulsory, and Mathematics and Statistics comes as 40 for arts and science or 88 for commerce.

How can an ISC science student in Solapur keep up with JEE or NEET?

An ISC science student should make a one-page map early in Class 11 linking each ISC chapter to its NCERT chapter and due month. The Solapur tutor then adds NCERT wording and objective practice where ISC is light, while protecting long answers and practical records.

Is online tuition sensible for ISC electives in Solapur?

Online tuition is often sensible for ISC electives, because specialists are scarce and may live in Pune, Mumbai or elsewhere. A Solapur family can keep a home tutor for maths and science and add online sessions for one elective or literature. For maths online, the tutor must see the working live.

Which three habits protect ICSE marks for a Solapur child?

Three habits protect ICSE marks: a revision rota that revisits older chapters every few weeks, timed long-answer writing from Class 9, and a dated list of projects checked monthly. A Solapur tutor can run all three alongside one new topic and one timed answer per session.
