Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Ask three Solapur parents what their child needs in maths and you may hear three different papers. One child is in Standard IX and has just found that SSC maths is really two separate exams. Another is in a junior college and worries about the HSC Mathematics and Statistics paper with an entrance test due that same spring. A third follows CBSE or ICSE and needs a tutor who knows that board's marking. Add the city's mix of home languages, and finding the right tutor becomes a question of fit. Tell NXTutors the class, the board, the school's medium and your locality; we then suggest two or three maths tutors matched on all four. You can read each fee before you meet anyone, and the opening class is a free demo.
This page has two named authors. Abhinandan Tiwary is responsible for the advice on Class 10 maths for CBSE and ICSE, and Ajay Vatsyayan for the ISC, IB and IGCSE parts. State Board details come from the board's own scheme documents. Find your child's row; the last column is a good first question for a tutor.
| Course | Examiner | Assessment in brief | Opening question |
|---|---|---|---|
| SSC Mathematics, Standards IX and X | Maharashtra State Board (MSBSHSE) | Part I and Part II, a 40-mark paper each, plus 20 internal marks | Which part do you usually see students neglect? |
| HSC Mathematics and Statistics, Standard XII | State Board | A single paper of 80 marks in four sections, with choices built into three of them | How will you decide which chapters are safe to treat as optional? |
| CBSE Class 10 (Standard or Basic) | CBSE | 80 marks on the board paper and 20 assessed by the school | What makes you place a child at one level or the other? |
| CBSE Class 12 | CBSE | 38 questions, all compulsory, for 80 marks; 20 internal | When in the year will calculus begin? |
| ICSE and ISC | CISCE | A written paper of 80, with 20 for internal assessment or projects | Which exam year's syllabus will you teach from? |
| IB Diploma; Cambridge IGCSE | IB; Cambridge | Timed IB papers and an exploration; IGCSE entered at Core or Extended | Have you taught this exact course and tier recently? |
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education conducts the SSC at Standard X and the HSC at Standard XII. In its evaluation scheme for Standards IX and X, Mathematics (subject code 71) is split into two parts, and each part is written as its own 40-mark paper. Another 20 marks come from work assessed in school. So a child who is strong in one part cannot lean on it to rescue the other: each is a separate paper with its own marks.
A tutor for a Solapur SSC student should plan for both parts from the start of Standard IX:
Patterns and dates are the board's to set, so check the scheme on the board's site before you fix a year plan. The other SSC and HSC subjects are on our Maharashtra Board home tutor in Solapur page.
After Standard X, State Board students in Solapur usually move to a junior college for Standards XI and XII. The board's scheme for Mathematics and Statistics (code 40) in Standard XII, used in both Arts and Science, lists marks for every chapter. With the built-in options counted, each part offers 56 marks, 112 in all, and the table below sorts the chapters by weight so a weekly plan can follow them.
| Part I chapter | Marks | Part II chapter | Marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vectors | 12 | Indefinite Integration | 10 |
| Trigonometric Functions | 10 | Differentiation | 9 |
| Line and Plane | 10 | Applications of Derivatives | 9 |
| Mathematical Logic | 8 | Differential Equations | 8 |
| Matrices | 6 | Definite Integration | 6 |
| Pair of Straight Lines | 6 | Probability Distributions; Binomial Distribution | 5 each |
| Linear Programming | 4 | Application of Definite Integration | 4 |
The same scheme says how the questions are pitched: about 30% test knowledge, 42% understanding and 28% application and skill, and theory questions make up no more than 15% of the paper. For tuition, that points to plenty of worked problems and only a little learning of proofs by heart. Vectors with Line and Plane, and the calculus chain from differentiation to differential equations, deserve steady weekly time in both Standards XI and XII.
The written paper carries 80 marks in four sections, and a tutor should rehearse all four:
Log tables are allowed and calculators are not, so arithmetic needs practice all year. The choices tempt students to drop whole chapters; a careful tutor agrees which topics are truly optional for this child.
In 2026-27 the CBSE board paper carries 80 marks across 14 NCERT chapters, and its design is the same as last session's. Algebra leads with 20 marks, geometry follows with 15, then trigonometry with 12, statistics and probability with 11 and mensuration with 10; real numbers and coordinate geometry are worth 6 apiece. A tutor who plans by those weights gives quadratics and progressions far more time than the smallest chapter.
No calculator may be used. Standard and Basic share the chapters but not the depth, and Basic puts much more weight on recall, so a child who may take maths in Class 11 should sit Standard. CBSE also now offers an optional second Class 10 exam in which a student can try to improve up to three subjects, maths included; the schedule is CBSE's to announce. Our Class 10 maths tutor page, the board-year planner and the guide to preparing for Class 10 maths go further.
Many Standard XII students in Solapur write a board paper and at least one entrance test in the same year. State Board students often take MHT-CET, the common entrance test for professional courses that the State CET Cell conducts; its syllabus and pattern should be read only on cetcell.mahacet.org. JEE Main is conducted by the National Testing Agency. In 2026 its Paper 1 carried 300 marks over 75 questions, and of the 25 in maths, 20 offered four options and 5 needed a numerical value, each worth +4 when right and −1 when wrong. Check the next bulletin on jeemain.nta.nic.in before planning.
One tutor can manage all three with a split week: one session ending in a full board answer, marked, and one of timed objective questions with each wrong answer logged and re-solved. Alongside coaching, the home tutor takes the leftover problems and the written board answers, not a second lecture. Teachers of these courses are scarcer in Solapur than State Board teachers, so name the course early; an online specialist is the usual answer when nobody lives within reach.
A clear address helps a new tutor find you, and the right hour keeps lessons regular. Compare tutors by locality on our Solapur page.

| Navi Peth | An old trading peth; many homes on narrow lanes behind shopfronts | The shop or building next to your door, the floor, and the turn at Saat Rasta | A quiet room away from any shop counter in the house |
| Bhavani Peth | The northern side of the old core, beside Murarji Peth and Damani Nagar | Write Solapur in the request, as Pune and other cities have a Bhavani Peth too | A slot that fits around junior college hours and any coaching |
| Railway Lines | A residential part of central Solapur on the railway side | Building, wing and flat number, or house number and landmark, with a map pin | Whether a parent's duty roster means one flexible day each week |
| Damani Nagar | A residential colony in north-central Solapur, mostly homes | Colony name, house number and the nearest well-known corner | The same weekday slots every week, soon after school |
| Vijapur Road | A long southern corridor of colonies on both sides of the road | Colony, nearest chowk such as Saiful, and which side of the road | How school chapters and foundation problems will share the week |
| Jule Solapur | A large southern area of houses and apartment buildings | Building or society name, wing and flat, or lane and chowk | Back-to-back slots if a brother or sister also needs maths |
The zone pages for Central Solapur Peths, Railway Lines and Pune Road and Vijapur Road and Jule Solapur add local tips, and the Solapur home tuition guide covers the whole city.
Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Urdu are all spoken as first languages in Solapur, and a school may teach in a different language from the one used at home. The State Board recognises both Marathi-medium and English-medium schools. A tutor can explain a hard step in the language your child thinks in, then repeat it in the textbook's terms, but the written answer must always be in the language of the exam. Tell us both languages when you ask for tutors, and check in the demo that the tutor writes the textbook's own words on the page.
Request that the tutor teach whatever chapter your child's school has reached this week, with the latest test paper open on the table. Then look for four things:
Not the right match? Let us know and another tutor from your shortlist takes a demo; changing tutor later is free as well. Our demo class checklist for parents lists more to watch for, and the home tutor or online tutor article helps if a mixed plan makes more sense.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every tutor sets their own fee, and it tends to move with the paper being taught, the tutor's experience with it, the journey to your part of Solapur and the number of weekly sessions. Each fee is on the shortlist before the demo, and the Solapur home tuition fees guide has a list of questions to put to tutors.
Six details are enough: the class; the exact course, such as SSC, HSC Mathematics and Statistics or CBSE Standard; any entrance test planned; the school medium and home language; your locality and a landmark; and your free days and hours. A shortlist of two or three maths tutors comes back with fees, and you pick one for the free demo. When no suitable tutor can come at that time, an online or mixed plan is the fallback; our online tutors for Solapur page explains how that works. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). Our office is in Sector 66, Gurugram, and online lessons reach all of India. See the national maths home tutor page for matching in other cities; families in other parts of Maharashtra can see our Pune and Mumbai pages or maths tutors in Pune, and the Solapur science and physics pages deal with related subjects.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Solapur maths tutors set their own fees, shown before the demo. Ask which paper each has taught lately and how many sessions a week they suggest.
NXTutors needs the class, the full course name, any entrance test, the school medium and home language, your locality with a landmark, and the hours you can offer. We then send two or three maths tutors with their fees. The first class is a free demo, and you can switch tutor later at no cost.
A Solapur SSC student should plan the two maths parts separately because the State Board examines each as its own 40-mark paper, plus 20 internal marks. Strength in one part cannot cover a weak one, so a tutor should keep a fixed weekly day for each part from Standard IX onwards.
For Solapur students on the State Board, Vectors carries 12 marks with options, and Trigonometric Functions, Line and Plane and Indefinite Integration carry 10 each. Differentiation and Applications of Derivatives bring 9 apiece. Each of the two parts offers 56 marks once the built-in choices are counted, so 112 in all.
No, a Solapur student cannot use a calculator in the HSC Mathematics and Statistics paper, although log tables are allowed. The board marks only the first attempt at a multiple-choice question, so the option letter must be written clearly. A tutor should keep mental and written arithmetic sharp all through Standards XI and XII.
One tutor can support a Solapur student for HSC, JEE Main and MHT-CET by splitting each week on purpose. One session ends with a full board answer written and marked. Another runs timed objective questions, with every error logged and solved again. Take MHT-CET details from cetcell.mahacet.org and JEE details from NTA.
A Solapur CBSE Class 10 student who may take maths in Class 11 should choose Standard. Both levels share the same 14 chapters and an 80-mark board paper, but Basic puts much more weight on recall. Algebra leads the paper with 20 marks, followed by geometry with 15 and trigonometry with 12.
A Solapur maths tutor can explain a hard step in your child's home language first. That may be Marathi, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi or Urdu, followed by the textbook's own terms. Written answers must stay in the exam's language, so tell us both the school medium and the home language.
Families near Navi Peth or Vijapur Road should give an address a newcomer can follow. In Navi Peth, name the shop or building beside your door, the floor and the turn at Saat Rasta. On Vijapur Road, give your colony, the nearest chowk such as Saiful, and which side of the road you live on.
For Solapur students sitting ISC maths in 2027 and 2028, CISCE sets one 80-mark paper and ends the choice between Sections B and C. Vectors, three-dimensional geometry, linear programming and probability become compulsory. Calculus is worth 35 marks, and two projects add another 20, each scored out of 10.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
