Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Nashik children write maths for several examiners. On the Maharashtra State Board, the SSC in Standard X splits the subject into two separate papers and the HSC in Standard XII is usually prepared at a junior college. Other children follow CBSE, ICSE and ISC, or an international course such as IB or Cambridge IGCSE. Each of these rewards a different way of setting out a solution, so the right tutor for one child can be a poor fit for the next. Distance matters too: a home on Gangapur Road and a flat near Nasik Road railway station sit on opposite sides of the city. Tell NXTutors the course and the locality, and we send two or three maths tutors who suit both, each with the fee shown before you meet. The first class is a free demo.
Two authors share this page. Abhinandan Tiwary writes the guidance for Class 10 maths on CBSE and ICSE; Ajay Vatsyayan writes the parts on ISC, IB and IGCSE maths. The first question we ask a Nashik parent is not the class but the examining body, because it fixes the textbook, the format of the answers and what a tutor should practise.
| Course | Set by | Shape of the final assessment | Ask the tutor |
|---|---|---|---|
| SSC, Standard X | Maharashtra State Board | Two maths papers, Part I and Part II, of 40 marks each, with 20 internal marks | How will you divide the week between the two parts? |
| HSC Mathematics and Statistics, Standard XII | Maharashtra State Board | One 80-mark board paper in four sections, with a choice of questions inside B, C and D | Which chapters will you treat as must-do, despite the options? |
| CBSE Class 10 | CBSE | 80-mark board paper at Standard or Basic level, 20 marks in school | Which level fits my child, and why? |
| CBSE Class 12 | CBSE | 38 compulsory questions for 80 marks, 20 internal | When will calculus start, and how often will it return? |
| ICSE and ISC | CISCE | 80-mark written paper with 20 marks of internal or project work | Which exam year's syllabus are you teaching from? |
| IB Diploma, Cambridge IGCSE | IB; Cambridge | IB papers plus an exploration; IGCSE at Core or Extended | Which course and tier have you taught most recently? |
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education runs the SSC and HSC across the state, and Nashik is one of its nine divisional boards. Its scheme for Standards IX and X treats Mathematics (subject code 71) as two parts, each examined as a 40-mark paper, with a further 20 marks for work assessed in school. In practice that means algebra and geometry are two papers sat on their own, and a weakness in one cannot be covered by strength in the other.
A good SSC maths tutor plans around that split from Standard IX, when the same scheme begins:
Patterns and dates are the board's to announce, so check the current scheme on its website before a plan is fixed. Our Maharashtra Board tutor page for Nashik covers the state board across subjects.
State Board students usually spend Standards XI and XII at a junior college. For Standard XII Mathematics and Statistics (code 40), the board's evaluation scheme sets an 80-mark paper in four sections:
| Section | What it contains | Habit to build with a tutor |
|---|---|---|
| A | Eight multiple-choice questions of two marks and four very short answers of one mark | Write the option's letter clearly; only the first attempt is marked |
| B | Any eight of twelve two-mark questions | Short, complete working with no skipped line |
| C | Any eight of twelve three-mark questions | Choosing quickly which eight to attempt |
| D | Any five of eight four-mark questions | Long answers set out in a clear order, each section begun on a new page |
Once options are counted, the paper offers 112 marks, 56 from each of the two parts of the syllabus. Log tables may be used; calculators may not, so a tutor should keep arithmetic sharp all year. The options tempt students to drop whole chapters, which is risky: a chapter skipped in Standard XII is often the one that turns up in an entrance test. A tutor can help decide which topics are truly optional for this student and which must be secure.
For 2026-27 the CBSE board paper is worth 80 marks across 14 NCERT chapters, and the design is unchanged from the previous session. Algebra carries the most, 20 marks, followed by geometry at 15, trigonometry at 12, statistics and probability at 11 and mensuration at 10; real numbers and coordinate geometry carry 6 each. A tutor who knows those weights spends October on quadratics and progressions rather than on the shortest chapter.
The paper runs in five sections, A to E: twenty one-mark items (eighteen multiple-choice, two assertion–reason), then five two-mark questions, six of three marks, four of five, and three case studies at four marks each. Calculators are not allowed, and π is taken as 22/7 unless stated. Standard and Basic cover the same chapters, but Basic puts far more of its marks on recall; choose Standard if maths in Class 11 is a real possibility. Since 2026, Class 10 students sit one compulsory main exam and may take an optional second exam to improve up to three subjects. Dates for 2027 are for CBSE to announce. Read the Class 10 maths preparation guide, the board-year planner and our Class 10 maths tutor page.
A senior student in Nashik may well be preparing for a board paper and an entrance test in the same year. The CBSE Class 12 paper asks 38 compulsory questions for 80 marks, and calculus alone is worth 35. JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 had 75 questions for 300 marks, of which 25 were maths: 20 multiple-choice and 5 with a numerical answer, scored +4 for a correct response and −1 for a wrong one. Confirm the next pattern on jeemain.nta.nic.in. State Board students often also take MHT-CET, Maharashtra's engineering and professional entrance test run by the State CET Cell; take its syllabus and pattern only from cetcell.mahacet.org.
One tutor can handle all three if the week is divided on purpose: a session on the board paper that ends with a long answer written out in full, and a session of timed objective questions with every error logged. If your child already attends coaching, the home tutor's job is to clear the problems left over from the coaching sheet, not to deliver the lecture again. See the Class 12 calculus and algebra guide, the JEE maths topic-wise guide, our JEE home tutor in Nashik page and the Class 12 maths tutor page.
Teachers for these courses are fewer than for the State Board or CBSE, so name the course in your first message. If nobody suitable can reach you, an online specialist is a straightforward answer.
Most tutors in Nashik come by two-wheeler, auto or bus, so the main roads decide which hours work. Compare tutors by locality on the Nashik home tuition page, or read the Nashik home tuition guide for every zone.
Gangapur Road is a main artery of western Nashik, lined with apartment buildings of mostly two- and three-bedroom flats. Share the building, wing and floor, tell the watchman the tutor's name, and point out where a two-wheeler can stand. Further out, Anandwalli has newer towers around its old village core and is reached through Gangapur Road, so a slot that ends before the evening build-up on that road keeps a weekly class regular.
Panchavati, on the left bank of the Godavari, mixes independent houses in older, sometimes narrow lanes with newer apartment buildings. A tutor on a two-wheeler manages the lanes more easily than one in a car. Adgaon, on the eastern side, is filling with plots, builder floors and apartments, and some colonies are still new to local maps: send a map pin and the colony name before the demo.
Nashik Road grew up around Nasik Road railway station and is crossed by the Nashik-Pune Highway and the Bhagur-Nashik Road; keep lessons clear of the morning and evening peaks near the station. Jail Road has houses and many co-operative housing societies, with autos and buses along the road. For a society flat, register the tutor at the gate once so later visits start on time.
Zone guides add landmarks and quieter hours: see Gangapur Road and College Road and Nashik Road and Jail Road.
Ask the tutor to work on whatever chapter the school is teaching this week, with your child's own notebook open. Four signs tell you more than any list of qualifications:
If the fit is wrong, tell us and we arrange a demo with another tutor from your shortlist; changing tutor later is free as well. The demo class checklist for parents has more to look for.
At the same table, a tutor catches a sign error the moment it is written, which matters for younger children and for proofs. Online lessons suit a specialist who lives across the city, a late finish at junior college or coaching, or an ISC or IB course with few local teachers. Another option is one home lesson and one online lesson a week with the same tutor, which also avoids a second evening crossing at the busiest hour. The home tutor or online tutor article sets out the trade-offs.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own fee. What moves it is the course and class, how long the tutor has taught that paper, the trip to your part of Nashik at your chosen hour, and the number of sessions a week. Every shortlisted fee is on screen before the demo, and the Nashik home tuition fees article lists the questions worth asking.
Send the class; the course by its full name (SSC, HSC Mathematics and Statistics, CBSE Standard or Basic, ICSE, ISC, IB or IGCSE); any entrance test in view; your locality with a landmark such as Canada Corner, Dindori Road or the railway station; the days and hours you can offer; and a budget. We reply with two or three matched maths tutors, each fee listed, and you choose one for a free demo. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (see how the ID check works). If nobody suitable can reach your home at that hour, we suggest an online or mixed plan. NXTutors works from Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India; the national maths home tutor page shows how we match in other cities, and our science and physics pages cover the neighbouring subjects.
Maths teachers who live in Nashik and would like students close to home can see open requests on the Nashik tuition jobs page.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each Nashik maths tutor names a personal rate. The course, the tutor's years on that paper, the trip at your hour and sessions per week move it, and every fee shows before the demo.
Once you name the maths paper and your Nashik locality, we reply with two or three matched maths tutors who suit both, each fee shown before the first class. You pick one for a free demo, and switching tutor later is free. Include any entrance test in view, a landmark such as Canada Corner or Dindori Road, and your free hours.
Yes, for Nashik SSC students we look for maths tutors who teach from the Maharashtra State Board textbook and explain in the medium your child writes in, Marathi or English. Each of the two SSC maths papers should get its own regular slot. The board revises its schemes from time to time, so confirm details on mahahsscboard.in.
A Nashik Standard X child cannot do that, because the State Board examines SSC maths as two separate 40-mark papers, Part I and Part II. A further 20 marks are assessed in school. Weakness in one part cannot be covered by strength in the other, so a tutor should alternate the parts on fixed days and have geometry steps written out with reasons.
For a Nashik junior-college student, HSC Mathematics and Statistics is an 80-mark paper in four sections. Section A mixes two-mark multiple-choice items with one-mark short answers; B, C and D allow eight of twelve, eight of twelve and five of eight questions. Log tables are allowed, calculators are not, and only the first attempt at a multiple-choice question counts.
Dropping whole chapters is risky for a Nashik HSC maths student, even though the options let the paper offer 112 marks for 80 answered. A chapter skipped in Standard XII is often the one that turns up in an entrance test. A tutor can help decide which topics are truly optional for this student and which must be secure.
Often, yes: one Nashik maths tutor can cover HSC, JEE Main and MHT-CET if the week is split with care. Use one session on board answers written in full and one on timed objective questions with an error log. MHT-CET is run by the State CET Cell, so take its current pattern from cetcell.mahacet.org rather than old coaching notes.
A Nashik CBSE Class 10 student should spend most maths hours on algebra, worth 20 of the 80 board marks. Geometry follows on 15, trigonometry on 12, statistics and probability on 11 and mensuration on 10, with real numbers and coordinate geometry at 6 each. The 2026-27 design matches last session, so recent CBSE sample papers suit timed practice.
Our maths tutors cover every side of Nashik, from Gangapur Road and Panchavati to Nashik Road, Pathardi Phata and CIDCO. That includes College Road, Mhasrul, Adgaon, Jail Road, Mumbai Naka, Satpur and Ambad. Most come by two-wheeler, auto or bus, so main roads decide the hours. If nobody suitable can come at your hour, we propose online lessons.
ISC and IB maths teachers are fewer in Nashik, so mention the course in your first message and expect an online specialist to fill gaps. ISC now sets one 80-mark paper of seven compulsory units for 2027 and 2028. IB maths needs a tutor who knows Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation at your level.
For Nashik maths, a tutor at the same table catches a sign error the moment it is written, which helps younger children and proofs. Online suits a specialist across the city, a late finish at junior college, or ISC and IB courses with few local teachers. One home and one online lesson with the same tutor avoids a second peak-hour crossing.
