Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

NEET rewards two quite different kinds of work. Biology carries half the paper and depends on careful, repeated reading of the NCERT books until every process, diagram and term comes back without effort. Physics carries a quarter and depends on problem-solving that many medical aspirants find the hardest part of the syllabus. A Mangaluru student is usually managing both alongside a PU college timetable or a CBSE or ISC school, and sometimes a coaching programme as well. A tutor helps most by taking on exactly the piece that nobody else is checking. This page sets out how that looks in practice here: the routine, the overlap between II PUC biology and NEET biology, which localities tutors reach easily, how to run paper mocks at home and how plans change from Class 11 to a repeat year. For the exam and syllabus in depth, see the national NEET home tutor hub.
| Feature | 2026 bulletin | What it means for tuition |
|---|---|---|
| Questions | 180, all compulsory and all multiple choice | No choosing chapters; gaps anywhere cost marks |
| Split | Biology 90, physics 45, chemistry 45 | Biology sets the base score; physics often decides the gap |
| Marking | Four for a right answer, minus one for a wrong one; 720 in total | Practise when to leave a question blank |
| Format | Pen and paper, one sitting of three hours, single shift | Mocks should be on paper with an answer sheet, not only on an app |
| Ties | Broken first on biology, then chemistry, then physics | Another reason biology accuracy matters most |
The National Medical Commission notifies the syllabus; its ten biology units follow the Class 11 and Class 12 NCERT books, five from each year. Check neet.nta.nic.in every year before relying on any of these details.
The two big subjects need opposite treatment. Biology needs to be revisited often, in small amounts. Physics needs fewer, longer sittings where a tutor can watch the student set up each problem. A pattern many families find workable looks like this; it is an example, not a rule.
| Task | How often | Where and with whom |
|---|---|---|
| NCERT biology reading of the current chapter | Daily | The student alone, early in the day |
| Biology recall check: processes written out, diagrams labelled from memory | Two or three times a week | Online with the tutor, short and late in the evening |
| Physics: stuck problems, one concept rebuilt, timed numericals | Once or twice a week | At home, with a tutor from your own side of the city |
| Chemistry: physical numericals or inorganic recall, whichever is weaker | Weekly | Home or online |
| Full paper under exam conditions, then review | Weekly in Class 12 | At home on a Sunday morning; review in person or on screen |
Keep the physics visit clear of the evening rush at junctions such as Pumpwell and KPT, and of shift-closing hours on the highway north to Surathkal. In the heavy monsoon months, move that session online on bad days instead of cancelling it; agree this at the start.
Many Mangaluru aspirants sit the II PUC examination, conducted by the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board, in the same year as NEET. The board's 2026-27 biology blueprint sets a 70-mark theory paper across 13 chapters, from sexual reproduction in flowering plants through inheritance, evolution, human health, microbes and biotechnology to ecosystems and biodiversity. All twenty one-mark questions in Part A must be answered. After that the student picks: five of seven two-mark questions, five of seven three-mark questions and five of ten five-mark questions.
That shape matters for tuition. The board rewards full written answers with labelled diagrams, while NEET rewards fast, exact recognition among four options. The reading underneath is largely shared, so a sensible tutor runs one revision plan and changes only the practice: written five-mark answers in the weeks before the board paper, multiple-choice sets the rest of the time. Take every board date and format from kseab.karnataka.gov.in, and see our Karnataka Board tutors in Mangaluru page for the state board as a whole.
Board-side help is on our CBSE and ICSE and ISC pages for Mangaluru, and subject help on the Mangaluru biology, physics and chemistry pages.
The five zones each have a page: Hampankatta and City Centre, Kadri and Bejai, Kankanady and Jeppu, Urwa to Kavoor and Surathkal. All localities are on our Mangaluru tutors page.
Rather than asking one tutor to come home for all three subjects, ask a simpler question for each: does the tutor need to watch the pen move?
Our home or online tutor comparison covers the general trade-offs, and the NEET physics tutor page goes deeper into the physics side.
Because NEET is a pen-and-paper exam, at least some practice should be on paper too. A home mock works when the family treats it as a fixed appointment: the full paper printed, a separate answer sheet for bubbling, a quiet room, the phone in another room and a clock in view. The tutor's real value comes afterwards. A useful review sorts every lost mark into one of four piles: never learnt, learnt but forgotten, misread, or a guess that should have been left blank. Over a few weeks the piles show where the next month's effort belongs. For the biology side, hand any new tutor our NCERT-first NEET biology guide.
Read the eligibility section of the current bulletin before planning a repeat year; in 2026 it set a minimum age of 17 by 31 December and no upper age limit.
If it does not feel right, we arrange the next demo, and switching later is free. Our demo class checklist lists more questions.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every tutor sets their own fee, and you see it before the demo. The pricing guide and our Mangaluru home tuition fees post explain what to ask about hours, travel and online sessions.
Tell us the class, board, subjects, college or coaching timings and your locality with a landmark. You receive two or three matched tutors and book a free demo class with the one you prefer. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID (see how we check tutors). Browse tutor profiles, read the Mangaluru home tuition guide, or, for engineering entrance, see JEE home tutors in Mangaluru. Teachers can look at Mangaluru tuition jobs.
A NEET home tutor in Mangaluru should close the gaps nobody else checks: whether NCERT biology has really stuck, and physics problems the college or coaching batch rushed past. Chemistry gets whichever part is weaker, numericals or recall. A weekly full paper, reviewed mark by mark, ties the three subjects together.
For a Mangaluru aspirant, II PUC biology and NEET biology share most of the reading underneath, but the papers reward different answers. The 2026-27 KSEAB blueprint sets a 70-mark written paper across 13 chapters with labelled diagrams, while NEET asks for quick, exact choices among four options. A good tutor runs one revision plan and switches the practice style before each paper.
For NEET in Mangaluru, physics usually needs a home tutor from your own side of the city, because the tutor must watch each problem being set up. Biology recall, labelling and terms check well online in short, frequent sessions, and a strong specialist may live elsewhere. Physical chemistry numericals benefit from someone beside the student; inorganic recall suits online checks.
NEET tutors are matched across Mangaluru, including Jeppu, Kankanady, Urwa, Kavoor, Surathkal and Hosabettu, starting with tutors from your side of the long north-south city. Share your locality, a landmark and your child's free times. In Surathkal, a tutor living on that side keeps a weekly physics slot far more easily than one coming up from the centre.
A Mangaluru family should run NEET mocks on paper with an answer sheet, because NEET is a pen-and-paper exam. Print the full paper, use a quiet room, keep the phone elsewhere and a clock in view. The review matters most: sort every lost mark into never learnt, forgotten, misread, or a guess that should have been left blank.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each NEET tutor in Mangaluru sets their own fee, shown before the demo. Ask whether online sessions on heavy-rain days are charged at the same rate.
After you request NEET tutors for a Mangaluru home, we send two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class. Share the class, board, subjects, college or coaching timings and your locality. The first class is a free demo, so bring a biology chapter and a physics problem your child got wrong. Switching tutor later is free.
In the 2026 NTA bulletin, NEET (UG) had 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions for Mangaluru candidates as elsewhere: biology 90, physics 45 and chemistry 45. Scoring was plus four and minus one, for 720 marks, in a three-hour pen-and-paper sitting. Ties broke first on biology, so biology accuracy matters most; check neet.nta.nic.in yearly.
A workable weekly rhythm for a Mangaluru NEET student is daily NCERT biology reading, two or three short online recall checks, and one or two home physics sessions. Chemistry gets a weekly slot for its weaker part, and Class 12 adds a Sunday full paper. Keep the physics visit clear of the evening rush at Pumpwell and KPT.
A CBSE student in Mangaluru already studies NCERT, the closest match to the NMC syllabus, but board answers can lose steps and labels after much option practice. An ISC student should line up the school's chapter order with the NCERT units early and add NCERT lines the school book phrases differently. Choose the booklet language early from the current list.
For a NEET drop year in Mangaluru, the tutor should start from last year's paper, asking where the marks were lost and why. Daytime sessions widen the choice of tutor across the city and avoid the evening rush. In 2026, the bulletin set a minimum age of 17 by 31 December and no upper limit, so read the current eligibility section first.
