Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Chemistry splits into three subjects in Classes 11 and 12, and most students are comfortable in only one of them. Some can do every numerical yet forget reactions; others remember reactions but freeze at a unit conversion; many find the inorganic facts slip away within a week. In Mangaluru the paper at the end may be second PUC or CBSE, often with the Karnataka CET alongside, and for some NEET or JEE as well. A home chemistry tutor's job is to find the weak branch and work on it in the format each exam rewards. NXTutors sends two or three chemistry tutors matched to your child's syllabus and able to reach your locality. Fees are listed before you meet anyone, and the opening lesson is a free demo.
| Exam | Share and scoring | What earns marks |
|---|---|---|
| Second PUC (KSEAB) | Paper and scheme set by the state board; see kseab.karnataka.gov.in | Answers written from the PUC textbook, with equations and reasons |
| CBSE Class 12 (043) | Theory out of 70, all 33 questions compulsory; practical out of 30 | Clear reasons, balanced equations and tidy numericals |
| Karnataka CET, 2026 bulletin | Its own 60-question paper, one mark each, no negative marking | Speed across the whole PUC syllabus |
| NEET (UG), 2026 | 45 of 180 questions, worth 180 of 720 marks; +4 and −1 | Word-perfect NCERT statements, recalled fast |
| JEE Main 2026, Paper 1 | A third of the 75 questions (25), with 5 needing a numerical answer; +4 and −1 | Mechanisms and multi-step physical chemistry |
Each body publishes its pattern again every year, so the newest bulletin always wins. For more, read which NEET chemistry chapters matter most, our physical, organic and inorganic plan for JEE, the chemistry tutor for NEET page, and our NEET home tutor in Mangaluru page.
On the state syllabus, Classes 11 and 12 are first and second PUC, and the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) conducts the II PUC examination. It sets and updates its own scheme, which is why this page describes no PUC chemistry paper. Take it from kseab.karnataka.gov.in.
Under the Karnataka Examinations Authority's 2026 bulletin, the CET chemistry paper was written on the first day with physics, as 60 one-mark questions with no negative marking. For engineering seats that year, CET physics, chemistry and maths marks counted equally with the qualifying exam, so board answers and CET speed both matter. Three questions sort out a PUC chemistry tutor quickly: do you teach from this year's PUC textbook; how will you use the board's model papers; and how will you split a week between written answers and timed CET sets?
CBSE gives a mark value to every chapter, which turns the syllabus into a plan. The 2026-27 design matches last session's. Grouped by branch:
| Branch (total) | Chapter | Marks | Home exercise |
|---|---|---|---|
| Physical (23) | Electrochemistry | 9 | Cell EMF and conductance problems, units on every line |
| Chemical Kinetics | 7 | Order, rate constant and half-life from data | |
| Solutions | 7 | Colligative properties with careful conversions | |
| Organic (33) | Carbonyl chapter: aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids | 8 | Named reactions written as conversion chains |
| Biomolecules | 7 | Short definitions and structures from NCERT | |
| Amines | 6 | Basicity order with one reason per step | |
| Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers | 6 | Tests that tell compounds apart | |
| Haloalkanes and Haloarenes | 6 | Substitution against elimination, mechanism shown | |
| Inorganic (14) | Coordination Compounds | 7 | IUPAC names, isomers, and a sketch of the bonding |
| The d- and f-Block Elements | 7 | Each trend explained in a single sentence |
Questions sit in Sections A to E, and only a handful offer an internal choice. Leave calculators and log tables at home: neither is allowed. About 40% of the marks test recall and understanding; the remainder ask for application, analysis or evaluation. Each chapter is treated in turn in our Class 12 chemistry guide to the organic and inorganic chapters; the chemistry tutor for Class 12 page maps a board year.
Two areas are out of Class 12 altogether for 2026-27: the solid state, and the p-block Groups 15 to 18. Four more are taught and marked by the school only, never on the board paper: the isolation of elements from ores, surface chemistry, polymers, and the everyday-life chapter.
That list is for board revision only. NTA sets its own syllabus for NEET and for JEE, so topics CBSE no longer examines, some p-block content among them, may still appear in those tests. A CET student should likewise follow the syllabus the Karnataka Examinations Authority publishes, not a CBSE deletion list.
| Branch | Typical slip | Fix at home |
|---|---|---|
| Physical | Right formula, wrong unit or a power of ten lost | Two problems a lesson solved aloud while the tutor watches each line |
| Organic | Reactions learned as a list, so conversions fail | A one-page map joining the functional groups, rebuilt weekly without notes, then compared with the textbook |
| Inorganic | Trends half-remembered, reasons missing | Rapid oral quizzes straight from the textbook, each answer followed by "why?" |
Close each lesson with a pair of "give reasons" questions in board style, marked on the spot. That small habit keeps written answers sharp even in weeks given over to CET or NEET objective practice.
Of the 30, 8 go to titration and 8 to salt analysis; 6 to an experiment drawn from the theory syllabus; 4 to the project; and 4 to record and viva combined. In the current session, the volumetric exercise titrates potassium permanganate against either oxalic acid or Mohr's salt (ferrous ammonium sulphate), with every student weighing the solid and making up their own standard solution.
The glassware stays in the school lab, but at home a tutor can still go over turning a weighed mass into molarity, setting out burette readings so the result follows cleanly, the sequence of salt-analysis tests from preliminary to confirmatory, a project the student can actually explain, and common viva questions such as why permanganate needs no separate indicator.
Senior chemistry lessons usually fall in the evening, so the trip across town matters. Here is what changes in six localities across the centre and the east; see every locality on our Mangaluru page.
Hampankatta is built around the Clock Tower circle, with Mangaluru Central on Old Kent Road and the City Bus Stand close by, so a tutor can arrive from almost any side by bus or train. Most homes are flats; tell the watchman before the first class. Kodialbail, just north, has taller apartment buildings among schools, colleges and shops; its streets crowd in the late afternoon, so a slightly later start helps.
Pandeshwar, on the western side of the centre towards the old port at Bunder, has apartment towers where the security desk registers visitors; share the tutor's name ahead of time. Falnir, close to Pandeshwar, Bejai and Kankanady, mixes apartment buildings and taller towers with clinics and offices. A fixed slot agreed at the start keeps lessons clear of the evening rush.
Kadri wraps around Kadri Hill and Kadri Park; many families live in high-rise towers with visitor registers. Nanthoor is one of the city's busiest junctions, where NH 169 towards Moodabidri and Karkala begins, with towers and houses around it. Both slow down on weekday evenings, so a tutor from Kadri, Bendur or Kankanady, or a slot outside the peak, works better.
Close to the pre-boards, or in the heaviest monsoon weeks, turning one weekly visit into an online lesson protects the revision plan. The Mangaluru home tuition guide describes every zone.
Teachers for these three courses are fewer than for CBSE or PUC, so ask early. If none can come to you, an online specialist can teach the course content while a local tutor marks written practice.
The final year stands on the first. The mole concept, equilibrium and the opening organic chapters come back in solutions, electrochemistry and every conversion question, and a gap there costs marks in the board paper and the entrance tests a year later. A term spent securing those foundations is usually less expensive than repairing them under board-year pressure. Our chemistry tutor for Class 11 page has more, and matching in other cities is described on the national chemistry home tutor page.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. The rate is the tutor's own. A NEET or JEE target and a long record with that exam push it up; so can an awkward evening route to your home, and the weekly lesson count matters too. You see every fee before the demo; our home tuition fees in Mangaluru article explains what to ask.
Include the class and syllabus, the main exam (board, CET, NEET or JEE), the branch that loses most marks, any college or coaching evenings, where you live with a nearby landmark, and when the student is free. We return two or three chemistry tutors with their fees, and you decide whom to meet at a free demo. A wrong first choice simply means a second demo with someone else, and a later change of tutor costs nothing. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID (details on our ID check page). When no suitable tutor can travel to you, we propose lessons online or a mix. We work from Sector 66, Gurugram, and teach online in every state. For the rest of the science stream, see physics and biology tutors in Mangaluru.
Chemistry teachers based in Mangaluru will find current family requests listed on Mangaluru tuition jobs.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Yes: in Mangaluru, a NEET or JEE target and a long record with that exam push a chemistry tutor's rate up, as can an awkward evening route and more weekly lessons. You compare every shortlisted fee before choosing whom to meet.
Yes, a Mangaluru chemistry tutor can teach second PUC from this year's PUC textbook and use the board's model papers; name second PUC in your request. KSEAB conducts the II PUC examination and updates its scheme, so the current chemistry pattern should always be checked on kseab.karnataka.gov.in.
A Mangaluru tutor should prioritise organic chemistry, worth 33 of the 70 CBSE Class 12 theory marks, ahead of physical at 23 and inorganic at 14. Electrochemistry is the heaviest single chapter at 9 marks, and aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids come next at 8, so both deserve steady weekly practice.
A Mangaluru student cannot safely skip chemistry chapters dropped from the CBSE board, since NTA sets the NEET and JEE syllabi separately. Some removed content, including parts of the p-block, can still be examined there. CET students should follow the Karnataka Examinations Authority's syllabus. Use the deletion list for board revision only.
Titration and salt analysis carry 8 marks each in the 30-mark CBSE chemistry practical, and a Mangaluru home tutor can rehearse much of it. The apparatus stays at school. The rest is a content-based experiment 6, the project 4, and record with viva 4. The tutor rehearses molarity working, burette tables, the salt-analysis order and typical viva questions.
A chemistry tutor can reach Hampankatta, Kodialbail or Nanthoor in Mangaluru, ideally from your side of the busier junctions. Hampankatta is near Mangaluru Central and the City Bus Stand; Kodialbail streets crowd in the late afternoon, so start a little later; Nanthoor slows on weekday evenings, so pick a slot outside the peak.
A Mangaluru student should attempt every Karnataka CET chemistry question if the rules match 2026, when the bulletin set 60 one-mark multiple-choice questions with no negative marking. NEET and JEE Main both deducted a mark for wrong answers. Check the current Karnataka Examinations Authority bulletin before finalising a strategy.
Mangaluru students gain most by starting chemistry tuition in Class 11 or first PUC. The mole concept, equilibrium and early organic chapters return throughout the final year and every entrance test. Fixing them early costs less than repairing them later, and a tutor can set up a reaction map and numericals routine before pressure builds.
A chemistry tutor request for a Mangaluru student should give the class, syllabus, main exam, weakest branch, coaching evenings, locality with a landmark and free times. We send two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
Online chemistry tuition makes sense for a Mangaluru family close to the pre-boards or in the heaviest monsoon weeks, when one weekly visit can move online. For ISC, IB or IGCSE, where teachers are fewer, an online specialist can teach the course while a local tutor marks written practice. Physical chemistry numericals still benefit from watching each line.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
