Physics home tutor in Mangaluru: second PUC or CBSE, CET or JEE, and a tutor who reads the working

Physics in Classes 11 and 12 is the subject where a student can follow every lecture and still be unable to finish a problem alone. In Mangaluru the same student is often working towards two or three exams at once: the second PUC or CBSE board paper, the Karnataka CET, and for some JEE Main or NEET. Each rewards something different, and a home tutor's value lies in sitting beside the student, reading the working line by line and fixing the step that fails. NXTutors puts forward two or three physics tutors familiar with the exams in your child's plan and able to get to your locality at the hour you have free. You see every fee in advance, and the first class is a free demo.

Which physics exams is your child actually preparing for?

The chapters overlap from one exam to the next; the scoring does not. Agree the main target with the tutor in the first week, because that choice decides whether the practice set is long written derivations, fast one-mark questions or hard multi-step problems.

Physics in the exams Mangaluru's senior students take: size, scoring and the habit each one trains
ExamPhysics in itScoringHabit it trains
Second PUC (KSEAB)Paper and scheme set by the state boardAs published on kseab.karnataka.gov.inComplete written answers from the state textbook
CBSE Class 12 (042)70-mark theory paper of 33 compulsory questions, plus 30 practical marksWritten answers, no calculatorDerivations, ray and circuit diagrams, case reading
Karnataka CET, 2026 bulletinIts own 60-question paper, one mark per questionNo negative markingSpeed and coverage; attempt everything
JEE Main, 2026 pattern25 questions, 5 of them with a numerical answer+4 for right, −1 for wrongMulti-step problems and knowing when to skip
NEET (UG), 202645 of the 180 questions: 180 of 720 marks, on paper+4 for right, −1 for wrongNCERT-level precision, fewer guesses

JEE Advanced in 2026 admitted only the first 2,50,000 candidates from JEE Main, with papers framed afresh by the organising institute. Remember that the body running an entrance test publishes its syllabus, not the school board, so a chapter removed from Class 12 may still be examined; read the current bulletin on nta.ac.in first. Our JEE physics topic-wise plan, the high-yield NEET physics chapters and the JEE and NEET home tutor pages for Mangaluru go further.

How should a tutor approach first and second PUC physics?

State-syllabus students study Classes 11 and 12 as first and second PUC. The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) conducts the II PUC examination, and in 2026 its Exam-1 had separate registration for repeater and private candidates. The board sets and revises its own scheme, so this page describes no PUC physics paper; take the current one from kseab.karnataka.gov.in.

For matching, ask for a tutor who teaches from the PUC textbook in use this year, works through the board's model papers well before the final term, and, if your child is also writing the CET, can switch between full written answers for the board and quick single-mark choices for the entrance test without letting either slide. First PUC is the year to fix vectors, graphs and units; second PUC builds on all three.

Why the Karnataka CET changes how physics is practised

Under the 2026 bulletin of the Karnataka Examinations Authority, physics and chemistry were written on the first day, maths and biology on the second, and every paper carried 60 one-mark multiple-choice questions with no negative marking. Two things follow for a tutor. First, a CET student should answer every question, which is the opposite of JEE practice, where a wrong answer costs a mark. Second, for engineering seats in 2026 the rank used CET physics, chemistry and maths marks and the qualifying exam marks in equal proportions, so the second PUC paper is not a side issue. A good weekly split gives one session to written board answers and the other to timed CET sets across the whole PUC syllabus. Check the current year's bulletin before planning.

Where do the 70 CBSE Class 12 theory marks come from?

CBSE has not altered the paper's design for 2026-27. The fourteen NCERT chapters are marked in four blocks:

CBSE Class 12 physics theory, 2026-27: the four marking blocks and the commonest way marks leak
BlockMarksWhere marks leak
Electrostatics, current electricity, magnetism, induction and AC33Sign errors and missing directions in field and force questions
Optics and electromagnetic waves18Ray diagrams without arrows or with the wrong sign convention
Dual nature, atoms and nuclei12Short numericals rushed with the wrong power of ten
Semiconductor electronics7Studying transistors and logic gates, which the syllabus no longer includes

Count the questions by value and the paper looks like this: 16 at one mark (of which 4 are assertion–reason and 12 multiple-choice) in Section A, 5 at two marks in B, 7 at three in C, 2 case studies at four in D and 3 long answers at five in E, 33 in total. Recall alone earns roughly 38% of the marks. The paper supplies the constants, and no calculator is allowed. There is a single main board exam in Class 12; look for 2027 dates on cbse.gov.in. Derivations that keep returning are gathered in our Class 12 physics strategies, and a full-year plan is on the Class 12 physics tutor page.

How much of the 30-mark CBSE practical can be prepared at home?

The CBSE Class 12 physics practical: what each part is worth and what a home tutor can rehearse
PartMarksHome rehearsal
Two experiments, one from each section14 (7 each)Aim, circuit or ray diagram, observation table and sources of error, written from memory
Practical record5At least eight experiments (four per section), six activities (three per section) and the project report, each checked for completeness
Activity3The steps and the expected result, said aloud
Investigatory project3A topic the student can explain end to end
Viva5Mock questions: why several readings, what a graph's slope means, which precaution matters most

The apparatus stays at school, but most of these marks depend on understanding and record-keeping, which is exactly what a tutor at home can check.

Three kinds of physics question, three ways to train them

  1. Derivations. The tutor asks for the derivation from a blank page, then marks it against the steps an examiner looks for: a labelled figure, the starting law stated in words, every assumption written down.
  2. Numericals. The same order every time: a sketch with directions, the principle named, substitution with units on each line, and a final check that the size and sign of the answer are sensible.
  3. Concept and objective items. Short bursts of one-mark questions, with the student saying why each wrong option is wrong. This is where CET speed and NEET accuracy are built.

Bring the last two class tests or mock papers to the free demo. A tutor who knows the subject should be able to look through them and say which of the three kinds is costing marks before teaching anything new. Our coaching or home tutor for JEE article and its NEET counterpart discuss how a home tutor fits beside a coaching class.

Six localities: can a physics tutor reach you after college hours?

A Class 12 or second PUC timetable usually leaves only the evening for physics, which is exactly when Mangaluru's busier junctions slow down. So the tutor's own route matters as much as their teaching. All localities are on our Mangaluru page.

Evening physics lessons in six Mangaluru localities: the setting, getting in, and a timing tip
LocalitySettingGetting inTiming tip
PandeshwarApartment towers beside banks and offices, next to Mangaluru Central and the City Bus StandGate registration at the security desk; share the tutor's name in advanceOffice traffic near the station builds on weekday evenings; fix a time either side of it
BejaiTall residential towers, with the KSRTC bus stand in the Lalbagh area nearbySign-in at the gate; tower and flat number ahead of timeRoads near the bus stand fill at office closing; early evening or weekend works better
NanthoorApartment towers and houses where NH 169 towards Moodabidri beginsTell the tutor whether to come to a gate or the doorThe junction is heavy on weekday evenings; a tutor from your side of it is steadier
BalmattaA settled residential side behind the busy Balmatta Road, with some taller buildingsFor flats, tower and floor plus a word with the watchmanBalmatta Road is busy all working day; evenings and weekends start on time
FalnirApartment buildings and towers among clinics and offices, beside the Highland areaVisitors sign in at the gate; two-wheeler parking is easier insideAgree a fixed slot to avoid school closing and the evening rush
BendurFlats and tall towers around the Bendoorwell junctionSecurity desks register visitors; houses get a doorstep visitTraffic towards Pumpwell is heavier on weekday evenings

On an evening when college runs late, or the monsoon is at its heaviest, the same tutor can take that week's lesson online instead of making a late journey. The Kadri and Bejai zone page and the Mangaluru home tuition guide add landmarks and quieter hours.

ISC, IB and IGCSE physics, and the right year to start

  • ISC. Besides theory, CISCE marks practical work and a project, and it rewards an argument written out step by step rather than a bare formula. Check that the tutor knows the syllabus version for your child's exam year.
  • IB Diploma. Since May 2025 the course has been examined on a guide built around five themes labelled by letter; options and Paper 3 have gone. Written papers make up four-fifths of the grade, and the remaining fifth is an individual investigation that only the student may plan and write. IB recommends 150 teaching hours at SL and 240 at HL. Our IB physics SL and HL guide explains more.
  • Cambridge IGCSE. Students sit either Core or Extended papers. Anyone joining first PUC or CBSE Class 11 after IGCSE will usually need extra work on vectors and graphs.

Starting in Class 11 or first PUC is almost always less costly than repairing gaps in the final year, because mechanics rests on the vectors and graphs that run through everything after it. Read more on the Class 11 physics tutor page, and in our guide to choosing a stream.

What does a physics home tutor in Mangaluru charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fees. What moves a quote is the target (board paper, CET, JEE Main, JEE Advanced or NEET), the tutor's track with that exam, how late in the evening the journey falls, and how many sessions you book. Every fee appears on the shortlist before the demo; the home tuition fees in Mangaluru article lists questions to ask.

What to send us for a physics shortlist

The request needs the class and board (first or second PUC, CBSE, ISC, IB or IGCSE), which entrance tests are on the list, the days already taken by college or coaching, your locality and a landmark, and whichever evenings remain open. You get back two or three physics tutors with fees, and you choose one to meet at the free demo. If that one is wrong for your child, another demo follows with someone else, and switching later costs nothing. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID (the process is on our ID check page). Our office is in Sector 66, Gurugram, and online lessons reach every state; the national physics home tutor page covers other cities, and the maths and chemistry pages cover the rest of PCM in Mangaluru.

Physics Home Tutor in Mangaluru: common questions

What moves the hourly quote from a CET or JEE physics tutor coming to a Mangaluru home?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. A Mangaluru physics tutor's quote moves with the target exam, their track with it, how late the journey falls and sessions booked. Every fee appears before the demo.

What should a Mangaluru family include in a physics tutor request to get a useful shortlist?

A Mangaluru physics request should name the class and board, the entrance tests planned, the days taken by college or coaching, your locality with a landmark and open evenings. We send two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.

Can I find a physics tutor in Mangaluru for first or second PUC?

Yes, NXTutors can find a first or second PUC physics tutor in Mangaluru when you name it in the request. Look for one who teaches from this year's PUC textbook and works through the board's model papers well before the final term. KSEAB conducts the II PUC examination and revises its scheme, so take the current pattern from kseab.karnataka.gov.in.

Why should a Mangaluru student attempt every CET physics question but skip some in JEE Main?

A Mangaluru student should attempt every Karnataka CET physics question because, under the 2026 bulletin, its 60 one-mark questions had no negative marking. JEE Main deducted a mark for each wrong answer, which rewards careful skipping. A tutor should train both habits, splitting the week between written board answers and timed CET sets.

Which CBSE Class 12 physics block decides the most theory marks for Mangaluru students?

For Mangaluru students in CBSE Class 12 physics, electricity and magnetism decide the most, at 33 of the 70 theory marks. Optics with electromagnetic waves follows at 18, modern physics at 12 and semiconductor electronics at 7. Transistors and logic gates are no longer in the syllabus, so notes that still teach them belong to an older course.

How much of the 30-mark CBSE physics practical can a Mangaluru home tutor prepare?

A Mangaluru home tutor can prepare most of the 30-mark CBSE physics practical, because it depends on understanding and record-keeping. It covers two experiments for 14 marks, the record 5, an activity 3, a project 3 and the viva 5. Equipment stays at school, but a tutor can check the record, rehearse diagrams and tables, and run mock viva questions.

Can a physics tutor reach Pandeshwar, Falnir or Bendur on college evenings?

Physics tutors can reach Pandeshwar, Falnir, Bendur and other central Mangaluru localities on college evenings, but the tutor's route matters as much as their teaching. Junctions such as Nanthoor and Bendoorwell slow down in the evening, so a tutor living on your side of them is usually the steadiest choice. Share tower and flat number for gate registration.

For PUC or Class 12 physics in Mangaluru, is a tutor at home or online the better fit?

For PUC or Class 12 physics in Mangaluru, a tutor at home usually fits better. Sitting beside the student, they read the working line by line and fix the failing step. On evenings when college runs late, or in the heaviest monsoon weeks, the same tutor can take that lesson online instead of making a late journey.

Should a Mangaluru student begin physics tuition in first PUC or Class 11?

Starting physics tuition early in first PUC or Class 11 is usually less costly for a Mangaluru student than repairing gaps in the final year. Mechanics rests on vectors, graphs and units, and those ideas return in almost every Class 12 chapter. A tutor can secure them while the college or school course is still moving slowly.

How should a Mangaluru physics tutor train derivations, numericals and one-mark items?

A Mangaluru physics tutor should train derivations from a blank page, marked against an examiner's steps: labelled figure, starting law and assumptions. Numericals follow one order: sketch, principle, units on each line and a sense check. One-mark items come in short bursts, with the student explaining why each wrong option is wrong, which builds CET speed and NEET accuracy.

What should an ISC, IB or IGCSE physics student in Mangaluru check before choosing a tutor?

An ISC, IB or IGCSE physics student in Mangaluru should first check that the tutor knows the exact syllabus version for their exam year. ISC marks practical work and a project; the IB course since May 2025 uses five lettered themes, with an individual investigation worth a fifth of the grade. IGCSE students sit Core or Extended papers.
