What home tuition costs in Agra

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Physics home tutor in Agra: the same chapters, three different ways of scoring them

A Class 12 student in Agra may meet electrostatics three times in one week: in a UP Board or CBSE classroom, in an entrance-practice sheet for JEE or NEET, and again at home with homework that will not come out. The chapter is the same each time, but the board paper wants a derivation and a labelled diagram, while the entrance test wants the right option, fast, with a mark lost for a wrong guess. A home physics tutor earns their place by knowing which of those your child is training for this month. NXTutors sends two or three physics tutors matched to the board, the target exam and your part of the city, with every fee shown before you meet. The first class is a free demo.

How is UP Board Class 12 physics marked?

The UP Board (UPMSP) examines Intermediate physics through a 70-mark written paper and 30 marks of practical work, with 23 and 10 needed to pass. The written syllabus for 2026-27 is split into two equal parts, and the model paper runs over three hours plus a reading period, in five sections, set in Hindi:

UP Board Intermediate physics, Class 12, 2026-27: unit marks in Part A and Part B
Part A (35)MarksPart B (35)Marks
Electrostatics8Optics13
Magnetic effect of current and magnetism8Atoms and nuclei8
Electromagnetic induction and alternating current8Electronic devices8
Current electricity7Dual nature of radiation and matter6
Electromagnetic waves4

Optics is the largest single unit, so ray diagrams drawn with a ruler, arrows on every ray and the sign convention stated should be routine by mid-year. Electricity and magnetism together fill Part A, which rewards a student who can move between field pictures, circuit rules and the right formula without mixing them up. A student who writes answers in English but revises from the Hindi model paper should ask for a tutor comfortable in both. More on the board is on our UP Board tutors in Agra page.

Why does Class 11 decide so much?

Class 12 physics leans on Class 11 tools: vectors, graphs, calculus-style rates of change and the habit of drawing a free-body diagram. The UP Board's Class 11 paper is also 70 written marks with 30 practical, with Part A on mechanics (kinematics 6, laws of motion 7, work, energy and power 7, rigid bodies and systems of particles 7, gravitation 7, and 1 for the physical world and measurement) and Part B on bulk matter 10, thermodynamics 9, ideal gases and kinetic theory 6, and oscillations and waves 10.

Mechanics is where many students first lose confidence, and it is also where JEE and NEET physics begins. Starting a tutor early in Class 11 usually costs less effort than repairing mechanics during the board year. See the physics tutor for Class 11 page and our stream choice guide.

Where are the 70 marks in CBSE Class 12 physics?

The 2026-27 CBSE paper keeps last session's design. Its fourteen NCERT chapters fall into four marking blocks: electricity and magnetism 33, optics with electromagnetic waves 18, modern physics 12, and semiconductor electronics 7, where transistors and logic gates are no longer in the syllabus. The paper has 33 compulsory questions: Section A with sixteen one-mark items (twelve multiple-choice, four assertion–reason), then five two-mark, seven three-mark, two four-mark case studies and three five-mark answers. About 38% of the marks test recall; constants are supplied and calculators are not allowed. Dates for the 2027 exam are awaited on cbse.gov.in. Our Class 12 physics strategies collect the derivations that keep returning, and the Class 12 physics tutor page sets out a board year.

What do JEE and NEET physics ask that the board does not?

Physics in the 2026 entrance exams, and what each means for a weekly home session
ExamPhysics in the paperMarkingHome session focus
JEE Main 2026, Paper 125 questions, 5 of them with a numerical answer+4 right, −1 wrongMulti-step problems against the clock, then every error reviewed
JEE AdvancedFor 2026, open only to the first 2,50,000 JEE Main candidatesSet by the organising institute each yearProblems that combine ideas from several chapters
NEET (UG) 202645 of 180 questions, 180 of 720 marks, pen and paper+4 right, −1 wrongNCERT-level accuracy and fewer blind guesses

The testing agency, not the school board, publishes each entrance syllabus, and it may keep topics a board has dropped, so read the current bulletin on nta.ac.in before crossing anything off. Our JEE physics topic-wise plan ranks chapters, and the JEE and NEET home tutor pages for Agra explain entrance matching. If your child already attends a coaching batch, the home tutor's job is not to repeat it but to clear the unsolved problems and keep the board paper alive; the coaching or home tutor article weighs that up.

Thirty practical marks: what can be done at home?

Both the UP Board and CBSE give 30 marks to practical work in Class 12. Under CBSE, 14 come from two experiments (7 each, one from each section), 5 from the record, 3 from an activity, 3 from the investigatory project and 5 from the viva; the record needs at least eight experiments and six activities, split across the two sections, plus the project report. The equipment stays at school, but a tutor can go through each record entry for aim, circuit or ray diagram, observation table and result, practise the graph work that many experiments end in, and run a mock viva: why several readings are taken, what the slope of a graph means, what the main source of error was.

What should a physics answer look like on paper?

Whatever the board, examiners reward the same order, and a tutor should insist on it until it is automatic:

  1. A diagram first, with directions, charges or rays marked.
  2. The principle named in words, for example conservation of energy or Kirchhoff's loop rule.
  3. The equation, then the substitution, with units on every line.
  4. A sense check: is the sign right, and is the size of the answer believable?

A single notebook of doubts, shared by the student and the tutor, holds this together: the question, the first attempt left uncorrected, a one-line note on what went wrong, and a clean solution written a few days later without looking.

Evening physics lessons in six Agra colonies

Senior students often reach home late, which pushes lessons into the evening, when market roads are busiest. A tutor whose route avoids the worst stretch keeps the slot steady. Compare tutors by locality on our Agra page.

Dayal Bagh
Mostly houses on the northern edge, with the New Agra colonies around it linked by the 100 Feet Road. Raja ki Mandi is the nearest station, and city buses and autos serve the area; a tutor usually comes to the door and parks easily.
Balkeshwar Colony
Houses and flats beside Kamla Nagar, reached by auto along Balkeshwar Road. Easy for a tutor to combine with a Kamla Nagar visit the same evening; give the market or a crossing as the landmark.
Avas Vikas Colony
Numbered sectors with houses and apartments, linked by Karkunj Road and the Sikandra to Bodla road. Give the sector with the house number; an afternoon or early-evening slot avoids the market rush.
Lohamandi
Established lanes mixed with market streets; Raja ki Mandi station and the inter-state bus terminal are within reach. A two-wheeler suits the narrow lanes, and a shop or crossing is the clearest landmark.
Shastripuram
Plotted colonies of independent houses, some still being built. Share a map pin. Evening traffic builds on the roads towards the highway and Khandari, so fix a regular time at the demo.
Civil Lines
Central apartments close to Raja ki Mandi and Agra City stations, reachable from most sides. Tell the guard the tutor's name, and avoid the late-afternoon office traffic around the business district.

On evenings when a coaching class or a school event runs late, an online hour with the same tutor saves a late crossing of the city. The home or online tutor article covers the trade-offs.

ISC, IB and IGCSE physics

  • ISC: CISCE pairs the theory paper with practical work and a project, and expects reasoning that goes beyond a one-line answer. Confirm the tutor knows the syllabus for your exam year.
  • IB Diploma: the current guide, first examined in May 2025, has five lettered themes with no options and no Paper 3. Papers carry 80% of the grade and an independent investigation 20%; teaching time is 150 hours at SL and 240 at HL. Read our IB physics SL and HL guide.
  • Cambridge IGCSE: Core or Extended. A student moving to an Indian board in Class 11 usually needs extra time on vectors and graphs.

Specialists for these courses are fewer, so name the course early; an online specialist can fill the gap.

Questions to put to a physics tutor at the free demo

  • "Which board and which entrance exam have you prepared students for recently?"
  • "Here is my child's last test. Which mistake would you fix first, and why?"
  • "How will you keep the board paper on track if my child also attends coaching?"
  • "What will the next three sessions cover, and what will you set as homework?"

If the answers do not convince you, the next tutor on your shortlist takes a demo, and switching tutor later is also free. The demo class checklist for parents adds more.

How much does a physics home tutor in Agra charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own fee, which follows the target (board paper, JEE Main, JEE Advanced or NEET), the tutor's experience with it, the evening journey to your colony and the number of sessions a week. Every fee is visible before the demo; the Agra home tuition fees article explains what to compare.

What to send us

Send your child's class, board and medium, the main goal (board paper, JEE or NEET), the days any coaching runs, your colony with a landmark, and the evenings that are free. We reply with two or three physics tutors and their fees, and you choose whom to meet for the free demo. Tutors who join go through an ID check. When nobody suitable can come at your hour, we suggest an online or part-online plan. NXTutors works from Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India; the national physics home tutor page shows how we match elsewhere, and the chemistry tutors in Agra page covers the other half of a science student's week.

Physics teachers who live in Agra and want students nearby can see open requests on the Agra tuition jobs page.

Physics Home Tutor in Agra: common questions

How do we get two or three physics tutors matched for our colony in Agra?

To get a physics tutor in Agra, send the class, board and medium, the main goal, any coaching days, your colony with a landmark and your free evenings. We send two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.

Does a JEE or NEET physics tutor in Agra charge more than a board tutor?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. In Agra, each physics tutor's fee follows the target (board, JEE Main, JEE Advanced or NEET), their experience with it, the evening journey and sessions a week, shown before the demo.

How are the 70 written marks in UP Board Class 12 physics divided?

UP Board Class 12 physics for Agra students has a 70-mark written paper and 30 practical marks, with 23 and 10 needed to pass. Part A, on electricity, magnetism and electromagnetic waves, carries 35, and Part B, on optics, dual nature, atoms and nuclei and electronic devices, carries 35. Optics is the largest single unit at 13.

Should an Agra student start a physics tutor in Class 11 to protect mechanics?

No, Class 11 is often the right time to start a physics tutor in Agra, because Class 12 physics and both entrance exams lean on Class 11 mechanics. On the UP Board, mechanics fills Part A of the Class 11 paper. Fixing vectors, graphs and free-body diagrams then is easier than repairing them in the board year.

How many questions are in the CBSE Class 12 physics paper?

The CBSE Class 12 physics paper an Agra student sits has 33 compulsory questions for 70 marks. Section A has sixteen one-mark items, then five two-mark, seven three-mark, two four-mark case studies and three five-mark answers. Electricity and magnetism carry 33 marks, constants are supplied and calculators are not allowed.

My child attends JEE or NEET coaching in Agra. What would a home physics tutor add?

A home physics tutor in Agra adds work the coaching batch does not do, rather than repeating it. The tutor clears the problems left unsolved from coaching sheets and keeps board answers, derivations and practical work on track. Fix the home slot so it never clashes with the coaching timetable.

Can a tutor help with the 30 practical marks in Class 12 physics?

Yes, a tutor can help an Agra Class 12 student with the 30 practical marks, though the experiments stay at school. They check each record entry for aim, diagram, observation table and result, practise the graph work, and run a mock viva. Under CBSE, the record needs at least eight experiments and six activities plus the project report.

In what order should a physics answer be written to collect marks?

A physics answer for any Agra board should open with a diagram, then name the principle, give the equation and substitution with units, and end with a sense check. A shared notebook of doubts holds this together: the question, the first attempt, a note on the error and a clean solution written days later.

Can a physics tutor reach Dayal Bagh or Avas Vikas Colony in the evening?

Often, yes; physics tutors reach Dayal Bagh and Avas Vikas Colony in Agra for evening lessons. Dayal Bagh is mostly houses, so the tutor comes to the door and parks easily. In Avas Vikas Colony, give the sector with the house number. An afternoon or early-evening slot avoids the market rush.

When should an Agra physics lesson move online instead of a home visit?

An Agra physics lesson can move online with the same tutor on evenings when a coaching class or school event runs late, saving a late crossing of the city. Senior students often reach home late, pushing lessons into busy evening hours. The weekly home visit stays for problem work at the table.

Do you find IB or ISC physics tutors for Agra students?

We look for IB, ISC and IGCSE physics tutors for Agra students on every such request, though these specialists are fewer than board tutors. Mention the course and exam year at the start. If no suitable tutor can travel to your colony, we suggest an online specialist to fill the gap.
