Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Senior physics in Gorakhpur rarely has one target. UP Board Intermediate means a 70-mark paper in two equal parts plus a practical; CBSE means case questions and derivations; and many students also prepare for JEE or NEET. The chapters overlap, the marking does not. A home tutor helps most when they know which rules apply this month and can reach you at a free hour. We suggest two or three such physics tutors, fees shown, and the first lesson is a free demo.
Agree which paper matters most this term; it decides the weekly practice.
| Goal | Marking | Home-lesson focus |
|---|---|---|
| UP Board Intermediate | Theory of 70 split into two 35-mark parts; practical of 30; pass at 23 and 10 | Full written answers on optics and electricity, in Hindi or English as the paper will be |
| CBSE Class 12 (042) | Theory of 70 from 33 questions, all compulsory; practical of 30 | Derivations set out step by step, ray diagrams, reading a case passage slowly |
| JEE Main (as set in 2026) | 25 physics items, 20 with options and 5 needing a number; four marks for a right answer, one off for a wrong one | Timed sets, followed by a calm post-mortem of every miss |
| JEE Advanced | For 2026, the first 2,50,000 JEE Main candidates could sit it | Problems that join two or three ideas; earlier Advanced papers |
| NEET (UG), as set in 2026 | Physics is 45 of 180 questions, worth 180 of 720 marks, with the same +4 and −1 rule, on paper | Accuracy at NCERT level and fewer blind guesses |
NTA writes the entrance syllabi, not the school board, so a topic the board has dropped may still be examined. Look at the current bulletin on nta.ac.in before striking anything off. For priorities, read the JEE physics plan by topic and which NEET physics chapters repay extra hours; the JEE physics tutor and NEET physics tutor pages describe matching, and our JEE and NEET pages for Gorakhpur cover the whole entrance plan.
The Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh, which names Gorakhpur among its regional offices, sets Class 12 physics as two halves of 35 marks each. The first half (Part A) is electricity and magnetism. The second (Part B) is light and modern physics.
| Part | Unit | Marks | Insist on |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | Electrostatics | 8 | A picture of field lines and equipotentials before any equation |
| A | Current electricity | 7 | A tidy redrawn circuit before junction and loop rules |
| A | Magnetic effect of current and magnetism | 8 | The direction rule written as a sentence beside the sketch |
| A | Electromagnetic induction and alternating current | 8 | Phasor drawings, and units carried through |
| A | Electromagnetic waves | 4 | The bands in order and one use of each |
| B | Optics | 13 | Rays with arrowheads and the sign convention stated first |
| B | Atoms and nuclei | 8 | Definitions word-perfect, energy-level sketches neat |
| B | Electronic devices | 8 | Correct circuit symbols and characteristic graphs |
| B | Dual nature of radiation and matter | 6 | Photoelectric graphs plotted and read with care |
Optics, at 13, is the largest unit and should run through the year. The board's model paper is in five sections and printed in Hindi. A Hindi-medium student is better served by a tutor who explains each derivation in Hindi and writes the English term alongside, which keeps the door open for entrance papers. Passing needs 23 in theory and 10 in practical. The UP Board tutors in Gorakhpur page looks at the board's other subjects.
The Class 11 paper is also 70 marks in two parts of 35, with 30 more for practical work. In Part A, kinematics carries 6; the laws of motion, work, energy and power, rigid bodies and systems of particles, and gravitation carry 7 each; the physical world and measurement carries 1. In Part B, bulk matter and oscillations and waves get 10 apiece, thermodynamics 9 and kinetic theory of gases 6. Vectors, graphs and free-body diagrams learned this year return in every Class 12 chapter and in every entrance paper. See the Class 11 physics tutor page and our stream choice guide.
CBSE's 2026-27 scheme puts the fourteen NCERT chapters into four marking groups. Electricity and magnetism take 33 marks; optics together with electromagnetic waves 18; dual nature plus atoms and nuclei 12; semiconductor electronics 7. Transistors and logic gates are out of the board course.
The paper has 33 questions over five sections. Section A has sixteen single marks, of which twelve are multiple choice and four assertion–reason. B has five questions of two marks, C seven of three, D two case studies of four, and E three long answers of five. Roughly 38% of the marks test recall. Physical constants are printed on the paper and no calculator is permitted. Our Class 12 physics strategies list the derivations examiners return to, and the Class 12 physics tutor page sets out a plan for the year.
Thirty marks on each board come from practical work, a part of physics that entrance batches leave alone. CBSE gives 7 to each of the two experiments done on the day, 5 to the record, 5 to the viva, and 3 each to an activity and the investigatory project. The record needs at least eight experiments and six activities, drawn from both sections. On the UP Board, the practical is a separate 30-mark exam with a pass mark of 10.
Much of the preparation is talk and paper. A tutor can read each record entry, discuss what could go wrong, and play examiner: why take several readings, and what does the gradient mean?
Repeating yesterday's batch lecture wastes the evening. One-to-one time suits three other jobs:
Our articles weigh up coaching against a home tutor for JEE and for NEET. Whatever you choose, place the home lesson on a day the batch does not meet.
Keep an "errors copy" too: the wrong question, the first attempt left untouched, one sentence on the slip, and a fresh try days later. Bring it to the free demo and see whether the tutor finds the weak step first.
Senior physics often happens after dark, so the tutor's way to your door needs to be simple. All Gorakhpur localities are listed on our Gorakhpur page.
| Locality | Setting | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Civil Lines | Settled and central, near Golghar, with students on every main board | Weekday evenings after a short break are the usual slot; an online specialist can sit alongside |
| Betiahata | Just south of Golghar, with Hindi-medium and English-medium learners | State the medium of the board paper so the tutor teaches terms to match |
| Daudpur | Residential, between Betiahata and Civil Lines | Name the stream and rank the subjects; physics may need its own tutor |
| Humayunpur | An old residential area north of the centre | Say whether you are in Humayunpur North or another part, with the lane |
| Jatepur | North and South parts, just north of the centre | Give the part and a nearby shop so the first evening starts on time |
| Turkmanpur | Old-city lanes west of the centre; tutors come by two-wheeler or rickshaw | A well-known crossing in the address, since the lanes confuse a first visit |
When a coaching class runs late, the same tutor can take that evening's lesson online instead. More local advice is on the Gorakhnath, Old City and GIDA zone page.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each physics tutor sets a personal rate. Before choosing, find out which of the five goals above they have prepared students for lately, the latest hour they can start, and whether a lesson can switch to online in a busy week. The fee is on the shortlist before any demo; the Gorakhpur home tuition fees guide suggests more questions.
Tell us the class, board and medium; whether the main goal is the board paper, JEE or NEET; which days coaching meets; your locality and a landmark; and the evenings that are still open. We send back two or three physics tutors with their fees, and you pick one to meet for a free demo. A poor fit simply leads to a demo with the next name, and a switch later in the year is free. If no one suitable can reach you at that hour, we will suggest online lessons or a mix. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). We work from Sector 66, Gurugram, and online across India. Compare the national physics home tutor page, physics in Lucknow and Varanasi, or our Gorakhpur pages for maths and chemistry.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Gorakhpur physics tutors set their own rates, so ask which papers they have prepared students for lately, how late they can start, and whether a lesson can move online.
A Gorakhpur physics request should give the class, board and medium, the main goal, the coaching days, your locality with a landmark, and free evenings. NXTutors sends two or three matched tutors with fees shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
For Gorakhpur students, UP Board Class 12 physics is a 70-mark theory paper in two parts of 35, plus a 30-mark practical, with 23 and 10 needed to pass. Part A covers electricity and magnetism; Part B covers optics and modern physics, and optics alone carries 13 marks, more than any other unit.
A Hindi-medium physics student in Gorakhpur is usually better served by a tutor who teaches in Hindi. The UP Board model paper is printed in Hindi, so derivations and terms should be practised in that language, with the English word alongside. That also prepares the student for JEE or NEET material in English.
In UP Board Class 11 physics, bulk matter and oscillations and waves carry the most marks, 10 each, followed by thermodynamics at 9. The laws of motion, work and energy, rigid bodies and gravitation carry 7 each. The 70-mark theory paper is in two parts of 35, with 30 more for practical work.
CBSE Class 12 physics for 2026-27 groups its 70 theory marks into four blocks. Electricity and magnetism carry 33, optics with electromagnetic waves 18, dual nature with atoms and nuclei 12, and semiconductor electronics 7. The paper has 33 compulsory questions, constants are given, and calculators are not allowed.
A home tutor can prepare a Gorakhpur student for the 30-mark physics practical without any apparatus. The tutor checks each record entry, discusses likely errors and precautions, and runs a mock viva. On CBSE, the two experiments carry 14 marks, the record 5, the viva 5, and an activity and project 3 each.
A home physics tutor adds three things that a Gorakhpur coaching batch rarely covers. The tutor reworks unfinished sheet problems, protects the board paper with full derivations and practical preparation, and sorts every lost test mark by cause. The home lesson should sit on a day the batch does not meet.
In 2026, JEE Main Paper 1 set 25 physics questions, 20 with options and 5 with a numerical answer, while NEET (UG) set 45 of its 180 questions in physics. Both gave four marks for a right answer and took one away for a wrong one. NTA reissues the pattern each year.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
