Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

For a Jodhpur family on the state board, the board office is in Ajmer, the syllabus is a PDF on rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in, and the two exams that count are the Secondary at the end of Class 10 and the Senior Secondary at the end of Class 12. A good RBSE tutor works from exactly those documents rather than from memory or an old guidebook. This page shows how: what the board conducts, how to read its syllabus files, how the Class 10 English and Social Science papers divide their marks, how Class 12 mathematics, chemistry and biology are weighted, what to do about Hindi or English medium, and how tutors reach colonies on the west and south sides of Jodhpur. Every exam detail below was taken from the board's own website; please confirm the current version there before relying on it.
The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan, usually shortened to RBSE, was established in Jaipur on 4 December 1957 under the Rajasthan Secondary Education Act of that year. It moved to Ajmer in 1961 and has worked from its present building there since 1973. Its examination page lists what it runs today:
Most families meet the board through the first two. They are the papers this page is built around, and the ones a Jodhpur home tutor is usually asked to prepare for.
The board's syllabus page groups its PDFs by the year of the exam. Files labelled 2027 are the syllabus for the 2026–27 session, the one a student starting a class this year will be examined on. There are separate files for Classes 9, 10, 11 and 12 and for the Sanskrit-education levels, plus a prospectus for each class that sets out the subject combinations and rules. Older files stay online, which is helpful for comparison and risky for anyone who downloads the wrong year.
| Document | What to look for | Why it matters at home |
|---|---|---|
| Syllabus (current year) | The marks printed against each unit or chapter, and the split between the written paper and sessional marks | Revision order follows the marks, not the order of the textbook |
| Prospectus | Subject codes, compulsory and optional subjects, stream combinations | Confirms exactly which papers your child will sit |
| Model papers and old papers | Question types and how answers are expected to be laid out | Timed practice should copy the board's own format |
The board also publishes separate syllabi, question banks and model papers for students who are deaf or mute. If that applies to your child, tell us when you request a tutor so we can look for someone able to work from those materials.
The current syllabus files print their headings in Hindi and English, and RBSE schools teach in either language. For tuition the rule is simple: the explanation can be in whichever language your child follows most easily, but the written answers must use the terms from the child's own textbook, in the medium they will write the exam in. A Hindi-medium student who learns a physics idea in English and then writes it in loosely translated Hindi often loses marks without knowing why. When you contact us, mention the medium first; it narrows the list of suitable tutors more than almost anything else.
Every main Class 10 subject on the board is one written paper of 80 marks plus 20 sessional marks from the school. English shows clearly how a tutor can use the syllabus to plan, because the 2026–27 file spells out each section:
| Section | Marks | What is tested | Home practice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reading | 20 | Two unseen passages: one discursive, one case-based with a chart or data | One unseen passage a week, with vocabulary noted |
| Writing skill and grammar | 20 | Writing tasks, plus 8 grammar marks: determiners, tenses, subject–verb agreement and reported speech, 2 each | Short grammar drills; one piece of writing marked for format and tone |
| Language through literature | 40 | Recall, reasoning and the writer's message from the prescribed books | Answers that quote and explain the text, not just summarise it |
Half the paper is literature, and the reading section rewards the habit of reading unfamiliar text calmly, including a passage built around a chart or numbers. For a Hindi-medium student taking English as a subject, the grammar marks are the most predictable to secure. See English home tutors in Jodhpur.
Social Science (subject code 08) is a single 80-mark written paper with 20 sessional marks, and the current syllabus gives history, geography, political science and economics 20 marks each. That even split has a practical consequence: no part can be dropped, and a student who enjoys history but avoids economics is giving away a quarter of the paper. A tutor's usual plan is to rotate the four parts through the week, keep a map-work routine going for geography, and practise a few long answers in each part before every school test. Ask for a one-page summary of each chapter in the student's own words; it doubles as the revision sheet in the final weeks.
The board publishes a syllabus for Classes 9 and 11, but its public examinations come at Class 10 and Class 12. That makes the two "in-between" years easy to underrate. In practice, chapters left half-learnt in Class 9 resurface as the hardest ones in Class 10, and the jump into a new stream in Class 11 sets the pace for the whole senior school. One steady tutor visit a week in these years, focused on the subject that is wobbling, often saves several crisis sessions later.
Senior Secondary mathematics (subject code 15) is one written paper of 80 marks with 20 sessional marks. The 2026–27 syllabus divides the 80 like this:
| Unit | Marks | Tutor's emphasis |
|---|---|---|
| Calculus | 35 | Daily practice from the first month; integration and its applications in particular |
| Vectors and three-dimensional geometry | 14 | Clear diagrams and a fixed method for lines and planes |
| Algebra (matrices, determinants) | 10 | Accuracy; small slips cost whole answers |
| Relations and functions | 8 | Definitions and inverse trigonometric functions |
| Probability | 8 | Conditional probability set out step by step |
| Linear programming | 5 | Graph work; reliable marks for little time |
Calculus is worth more than the next two units combined. A student who is shaky there should spend most tutor hours on it, even at the cost of the smaller units for a while. See maths home tutors in Jodhpur.
In the Science stream, chemistry (code 41) and biology (code 42) both have a written theory part worth 56 marks plus 14 sessional marks, 70 in all, and a separate practical worth 30. The chemistry syllabus spreads its 56 theory marks across ten units fairly evenly:
| Branch | Units and marks |
|---|---|
| Physical | Solutions 6, electrochemistry 6, chemical kinetics 6 |
| Inorganic | d- and f-block elements 5, coordination compounds 5 |
| Organic | Haloalkanes and haloarenes 6; alcohols, phenols and ethers 6; aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids 7; amines 5; biomolecules 4 |
Organic chemistry carries 28 of the 56 theory marks, so a student weak in reactions has a clear place to start. Biology's theory is organised in five units, reproduction, genetics and evolution, biology in human welfare, biotechnology and ecology, again with marks printed against each chapter. In both subjects the practical is a separate exam, so the practical file and the experiments cannot be left to the final weeks. Subject pages: chemistry, biology and physics tutors in Jodhpur.
A science student on this board who is also preparing for an entrance exam can use one plan for both, since the chapters overlap heavily. Our JEE and NEET pages for Jodhpur explain how a home tutor fits beside a batch.
The Senior Secondary examination is offered in Arts, Science and Commerce, and the subject combinations within each are set out in the board's prospectus for that year. The choice is made at the start of Class 11, and it shapes the kind of tuition a student will need: a science student usually wants one specialist per hard subject, a commerce student often needs help with accountancy and, if chosen, mathematics, and an arts student benefits most from practice in long written answers. Before deciding, read the prospectus with your child and the school. Our guide to choosing a board and stream helps with the thinking.
Praveshika (at the Class 10 level) and Varishtha Upadhyay (at the Class 12 level) are the board's examinations for Sanskrit education, with their own syllabus files on the website. If your child follows this route, say so in your request and share the subject list from the school. We look for tutors who can work from those files; for some subjects an online tutor may be the practical option.
RBSE schools follow the Rajasthan school calendar, so check dates with your own school. The shape of the year still gives a tutor a useful plan:
We look for tutors near your colony first, then across your zone and the city, and suggest online lessons when the right subject specialist lives too far for a weekly visit. Notes for six colonies:
| Colony | Zone | What to share |
|---|---|---|
| Chopasni Housing Board | West | Sector and house or flat number; the layout does the rest |
| Pal Road | West | Building name and guard desk details; a time outside the evening flow towards the centre |
| Shyam Nagar | West | House or flat, floor, and where a two-wheeler can be parked |
| Kudi Bhagtasni Housing Board | South | Sector, block and house number with a landmark |
| Krishna Nagar | South | A map pin for newer plotted colonies |
| Bhagat Ki Kothi | South | A landmark near the station and a fixed weekly slot |
More detail sits on the West Jodhpur (Chopasni–Pal Road) and South Jodhpur (Basni–Kudi Bhagtasni) zone pages, the Jodhpur home tutors page and our Jodhpur home tuition guide.
For Class 10, and for any student writing in Hindi medium, a tutor sitting beside the notebook can correct the terms and the layout of each answer as it is written, which is exactly what the board marks. In Class 12, a common arrangement is one home visit for the hardest subject and a shorter online session for doubts or a model paper. Online lessons also cover a subject no nearby tutor teaches, and keep the week going on the hottest days. Our online tutors for Jodhpur page and the home versus online comparison go further.
We send two or three matched tutors and show each fee before the demo. The first class is free, and switching tutor later is free too. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete. The demo class checklist has more ideas, and families elsewhere in the state can see our Rajasthan Board page for Jaipur.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fees. See the pricing guide and our post on home tuition fees in Jodhpur.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Ask how sessional marks and model-paper practice will be handled, so you can compare tutors on more than the rate.
The Rajasthan Board's examination page lists the Secondary School and Vocational Examination at Class 10 and the Senior Secondary Examination at Class 12, which Jodhpur tutors mostly prepare for. It also runs Praveshika and Varishtha Upadhyay for Sanskrit education and a State Talent Search Examination. The board has worked from Ajmer since 1961.
A Jodhpur RBSE tutor should print the files labelled 2027 on rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in, because the board names syllabus files by exam year. Older years stay online, so check the label before printing. The prospectus for the class confirms subject codes and the stream combinations your child will sit.
RBSE Class 10 English gives Jodhpur students 80 written marks plus 20 sessional, per the 2026-27 syllabus. Reading carries 20 across two unseen passages, writing skill and grammar 20 including 8 grammar marks, and language through literature 40. Half the paper rests on the prescribed books, answered with close reference to the text.
No Jodhpur Class 10 student on the Rajasthan Board can safely skip a part, since Social Science gives history, geography, political science and economics 20 marks each. Avoiding economics gives away a quarter of the 80-mark paper. A tutor usually rotates the four parts weekly and keeps a map-work routine for geography.
Calculus carries 35 of the 80 written marks in RBSE Class 12 mathematics, so a Jodhpur student shaky there should spend most tutor hours on it first. That is more than vectors and three-dimensional geometry (14) and algebra (10) combined. The smaller units, such as linear programming and probability, come after.
A Jodhpur RBSE tutor can teach in Hindi medium if you mention it when you contact us, and medium narrows the list more than anything else. The syllabus files print headings in Hindi and English. Explanations can be in either language, but written answers should use the terms from your child's textbook, in the exam's medium.
A Jodhpur science student on RBSE sits the chemistry and biology practical as a separate 30-mark exam, beside 56 written and 14 sessional theory marks. Strong theory does not cover a gap there, so a tutor should keep the practical file and experiments on track through the year. Organic chemistry also carries 28 of the 56 theory marks.
For Class 10 and Hindi-medium RBSE students in Jodhpur, a home tutor beside the notebook can correct terms and answer layout as they are written. In Class 12, one home visit for the hardest subject plus a shorter online session often works. Online lessons also cover a subject no nearby tutor teaches and the hottest summer days.
For a first Rajasthan Board tutor visit in Chopasni Housing Board, Jodhpur, share the sector and house or flat number. In Kudi Bhagtasni Housing Board, give sector, block and house number with a landmark. In newer plotted colonies such as Krishna Nagar, a map pin helps the tutor arrive on time.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
