Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

In Jodhpur, a maths request usually starts with one question that families skip: which body writes the paper? Plenty of children here sit the Rajasthan board, others are in CBSE or CISCE schools, and a few follow IB or Cambridge IGCSE. Each one weighs the chapters differently and marks working in its own way, so a tutor who is excellent for one can drift off course for another. The second question is the map. A teacher living near Paota can serve the northern colonies easily, while a home off Residency Road or deep in Shastri Nagar may suit someone else. Tell NXTutors the class, the board and your locality, and we reply with two or three maths tutors who fit all three. Each fee is printed on the shortlist, so you know it before anyone visits, and that opening class costs nothing.
Two named authors stand behind the exam detail on this page: IB, IGCSE and ISC maths guidance comes from Ajay Vatsyayan, while Abhinandan Tiwary covers Class 10 maths on CBSE and ICSE. The Rajasthan board section is drawn from the board's own published syllabus. The table is the starting point for any conversation with a tutor.
| Course | Examined by | Shape of the final mark | Ask the tutor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rajasthan board, Class 10 (Secondary) | Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan | An 80-mark paper and 20 sessional marks from the school | Which chapters carry the most marks this session? |
| Rajasthan board, Class 12 (Senior Secondary) | Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan | An 80-mark paper and 20 sessional marks | How will you keep JEE practice from crowding out the board paper? |
| CBSE Class 10, Standard or Basic | CBSE | 80 in the board paper, 20 assessed internally | Which level fits my child's plans for Class 11? |
| ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 | CISCE | An 80-mark written paper with 20 for internal or project work | Which exam year's syllabus will you teach from? |
| IB Diploma; Cambridge IGCSE | IB; Cambridge | IB: papers plus an exploration. IGCSE: Core or Extended tier | Which course and tier have you taught most recently? |
The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan was set up in Jaipur in 1957 and has worked from Ajmer since 1961. It conducts the Secondary examination at Class 10 and the Senior Secondary examination at Class 12. For Class 10 maths the board prescribes NCERT textbooks, so a tutor familiar with those books is already on known ground. What changes is the mark split. In the board's 2026-27 syllabus, the 80 written marks fall like this:
| Chapter group | Marks | Where marks slip |
|---|---|---|
| Statistics, with probability | 13 + 4 | Arithmetic inside the frequency table; the method is usually understood |
| Trigonometry, with heights and distances | 8 + 5 | Picking the ratio before drawing the figure |
| Algebra: polynomials, linear pairs, quadratics, progressions | 18 in all | Turning a word problem into the right equation |
| Coordinate geometry | 7 | Sign errors in the section and distance formulas |
| Circles and triangles | 6 + 4 | Proof steps written without a reason |
| Areas related to circles; surface areas and volumes | 5 + 6 | Units dropped when two solids are joined |
| Real numbers | 4 | Rushed because it looks easy |
Two things stand out for anyone moving across from a CBSE plan. Statistics on its own is the heaviest single chapter here, so it deserves steady weekly practice rather than a quick pass near the end. Trigonometry together with heights and distances also adds up to more than many families expect.
The 20 sessional marks are built inside the school: 10 from the half-yearly exam and periodic tests, 5 from project work, 3 for attendance, 1 for conduct and 1 for tree planting. A tutor cannot sit those tests for your child, but can make sure the periodic tests are treated as real exams. The board's prospectus also says that if the printed textbook and the syllabus on its website disagree, the website version applies. A careful tutor checks rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in at the start of the session and uses the board's model questions and old papers from the same site. The board publishes its syllabus in Hindi and English, so ask for a tutor who teaches in the medium your child writes in. Our Rajasthan board tutor in Jodhpur page covers the board in more depth.
CBSE splits its 80 board marks across seven units for 2026-27, and the design of the paper is the same as last session. Algebra leads with 20 marks. Next come geometry (15), trigonometry (12), the statistics-and-probability unit (11) and mensuration (10), while real numbers and coordinate geometry bring 6 apiece. Compared with the Rajasthan split above, CBSE leans harder on algebra and geometry, which is why a tutor's weekly plan should not be copied from one board to the other even though the textbooks overlap.
The CBSE paper is laid out in five lettered sections, from twenty one-mark items (multiple-choice plus two assertion–reason questions) up to three case studies at four marks each. No calculator is allowed, and π is taken as 22/7 unless the question says otherwise. Standard and Basic maths share the chapters but not the difficulty: roughly 54% of Standard marks test remembering and understanding, against about 75% in Basic. If Class 11 maths is even a possibility, Standard is the safer choice, and the school fixes a deadline for it.
Since 2026 there is one compulsory main exam for Class 10 and an optional second sitting to improve up to three subjects, maths included; the 2027 dates have not yet been announced, so keep an eye on cbse.gov.in. For chapter plans, read the CBSE Class 10 maths preparation guide and the board-year planner; the Class 10 maths tutor page sets out our matching for the board year.
Senior maths in Jodhpur splits into two tracks that share most chapters but not the scoring. On the Rajasthan board, Class 12 maths is one paper of 80 marks with 20 sessional marks, taken by science students who choose maths alongside physics and chemistry, and by commerce students who pick it as an extra subject. On CBSE, the Class 12 paper sets 38 compulsory questions for 80 marks, and calculus alone accounts for 35 of them.
JEE Main works differently. In 2026, Paper 1 had 75 questions for 300 marks; 25 were maths, with 20 multiple-choice and 5 numerical-answer items, scored +4 for a right answer and −1 for a wrong one. The next pattern will be on jeemain.nta.nic.in. A home tutor's job beside JEE practice is to stop the board paper from sliding: one session a week on entrance problems and one on full written board answers keeps both alive. Starting in Class 11 costs less effort than repairing algebra and functions halfway through Class 12.
Few Jodhpur teachers specialise in these four courses compared with the Rajasthan board or CBSE, so put the course name in your very first message. If no specialist can travel to your colony, an online specialist can take the course-specific work while a local tutor checks written practice.
Most tutors in Jodhpur travel by two-wheeler or auto, and buses meet at Paota. What helps most is a regular slot and directions the tutor can follow on the first visit. You can compare tutors by locality on the Jodhpur home tuition page.
Sardarpura and Shastri Nagar share the 342003 pin code. Sardarpura's homes sit beside a busy market, so fix the lesson before the evening shopping crowd and, for a flat above shops, send the building name and floor. Shastri Nagar has many apartment buildings; tell the guard desk the tutor's name and say where a two-wheeler can stand.
Ratanada sits in the middle of the city, so tutors can come from several sides; main roads towards the station fill late in the afternoon, so agree a time that misses them. Paota holds the city's main bus stand, which makes it easy to reach, but the roads around the stand stay busy, so give a side-lane landmark.
Mandore, north along the Jodhpur–Bikaner road, is mostly independent houses on plots; the old gardens make a handy landmark, and a map pin helps in the newer colonies. Vidhya Nagar mixes plots, houses, builder floors and flats; in a gated layout, ask the guard to expect the tutor and share the plot number.
Ask the tutor to work on the chapter your child is doing in school this week, using your child's own notebook. During the class, watch for these signs:
Not convinced? Say so, and another tutor from the same shortlist takes a demo; a switch further down the line costs nothing either. Our demo class checklist for parents has more questions to ask.
Sitting at the same table, a tutor sees a wrong sign the moment it is written, which matters for younger children, proofs and long algebra. Online lessons make sense when the right specialist lives on the far side of the city, for IB or ISC courses with few local teachers, or for revision weeks before an exam. Many families settle on a mix: a home visit for new chapters and an online session for practice papers. The home tutor or online tutor article weighs it up.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every tutor sets their own fee. It tends to move with the class and course, the tutor's experience with that paper, the trip to your colony at the hour you want, and how many sessions you book each week. You see each shortlisted fee before the demo, and the Jodhpur home tuition fees guide explains what to ask.
Five details make the match quick: the class, the course by its full name (Rajasthan board in Hindi or English medium, CBSE Standard or Basic, ICSE, ISC, IB or IGCSE), your locality with a landmark, the days and times you can offer, and the fee range you have in mind. We send two or three matched maths tutors with their fees, and you choose one for the free demo. Where no suitable tutor can get to your colony at that time, we propose online lessons or a blend of the two. Our office is in Sector 66, Gurugram, and online lessons run anywhere in India; the national maths home tutor page explains how we work, and the Jodhpur home tuition guide walks through every zone.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor names their own rate, and every fee on your shortlist is visible before the demo.
Yes. We look for tutors who teach from the NCERT books the board prescribes for Class 10, in the Hindi or English medium your child writes in, and who use the model questions and old papers on rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in. The board says its website syllabus prevails if a printed book differs.
Statistics, at 13 of the 80 written marks in the 2026-27 syllabus, with probability adding 4 more. Trigonometry and heights and distances together bring 13, and coordinate geometry 7. That weighting differs from CBSE, where algebra leads, so a tutor should plan the year from the board your child actually sits.
The school awards them: 10 from the half-yearly exam and periodic tests, 5 from project work, 3 for attendance, 1 for conduct and 1 for tree planting. A home tutor cannot change those marks directly, but can prepare your child for each periodic test as seriously as for the board paper.
Choose Standard if maths in Class 11 is at all likely. Both levels cover the same chapters for 80 marks, but about three-quarters of Basic rests on remembering and understanding, against roughly 54% in Standard. Schools fix a deadline for the choice at registration, so decide early in the year.
Often, if the week is split on purpose. JEE Main 2026 gave maths 25 of 75 questions, marked +4 and −1, while board papers reward complete written working. One session on entrance problems and one on full board answers each week keeps both moving without either slipping behind.
We match across central Jodhpur around Sardarpura and Ratanada, the north from Paota to Mandore, the west along Pal Road and Chopasni, and the south from Basni to Kudi Bhagtasni. When nobody suitable can reach your colony at the hour you need, we suggest online or mixed lessons.
Specialists for ISC, IB and IGCSE maths are fewer than for the Rajasthan board or CBSE, so mention the course in your first message. If no specialist can travel to you, an online tutor can cover the course-specific work, sometimes alongside a local tutor who checks weekly written practice.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
