Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Physics is the subject where Class 11 and 12 students in Jodhpur most often feel they understood the lesson but cannot finish the problem. The board paper wants derivations and labelled diagrams; JEE and NEET want speed and accuracy under negative marking; and the practical exam wants a tidy record and confident viva answers. A home physics tutor earns their place by tying those three together. Tell NXTutors the board, the class and whether an entrance exam is in view, and we suggest two or three physics tutors who can reach your locality at a workable hour. You see their fees before meeting them, and the first class is a free demo.
The chapters overlap, but the scoring does not. Agreeing on the main target at the start decides what goes into each week's practice.
| Exam | How physics is scored | What to practise |
|---|---|---|
| Rajasthan board Class 12 | Theory 70 (56 in the written paper, 14 sessional) and practical 30, each passed on its own | Derivations, numericals with units, and the practical record |
| CBSE Class 12 (042) | Theory 70 with 33 compulsory questions; practical 30 | Case-based reading, diagrams and long answers |
| JEE Main, 2026 pattern | 25 physics questions, 5 with numerical answers; +4 right, −1 wrong | Multi-step problems against the clock, then error review |
| NEET (UG), 2026 pattern | 45 of 180 questions, 180 of 720 marks, on paper; +4 and −1 | NCERT-level accuracy and fewer guesses |
Entrance syllabi are published by the conducting body, not by the school board, so check the current bulletin on nta.ac.in before dropping any topic a board has removed.
In the Rajasthan board's Senior Secondary science faculty, physics and chemistry are compulsory, with biology, maths or another subject chosen alongside. For physics, the board's 2026-27 syllabus sets 70 theory marks, of which 56 come from the written paper and 14 are sessional, plus 30 for the practical exam. A candidate has to pass theory and practical separately, so the lab work cannot be treated as an afterthought. The 56 written marks are spread across nine units:
| Unit | Marks | Tutor's focus |
|---|---|---|
| Optics | 11 | Ray diagrams drawn to rule; sign convention fixed once and kept |
| Electromagnetic induction and alternating current | 9 | Flux change explained in words before any formula |
| Magnetic effects of current and magnetism | 8 | Direction rules practised with sketches |
| Electrostatics | 7 | Field and potential kept apart; derivations written in full |
| Atoms and nuclei; semiconductor electronics | 6 each | Short numericals and clear circuit symbols |
| Dual nature of radiation and matter | 4 | Photoelectric graphs read correctly |
| Current electricity; electromagnetic waves | 3; 2 | Quick marks that should not be skipped |
The board publishes its syllabus in Hindi and English, along with model questions and old papers on rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in. Ask for a tutor who teaches in your child's medium and works from those papers. Because 14 of the 70 theory marks are sessional, the marks the school awards through the year also count; a tutor who goes through each returned school test with your child protects marks that are easy to overlook while attention is on the final exam. The Rajasthan board tutor in Jodhpur page covers the other subjects.
CBSE's 2026-27 design matches last session's. Its fourteen chapters group into four blocks: electricity and magnetism 33 marks, optics with electromagnetic waves 18, modern physics 12, and semiconductor electronics 7, where transistors and logic gates are no longer in the syllabus. The paper's 33 questions run from sixteen one-mark items through two-, three- and four-mark questions to three five-mark long answers. Only about 38% of the marks reward recall, values of constants are supplied, and no calculator is allowed. Our Class 12 physics strategies collect the derivations that keep returning, and the Class 12 physics tutor page sets out a board-year plan.
Both boards give the practical 30 marks, and on the Rajasthan board it must be passed on its own. On CBSE, the 30 split into 14 for two experiments, 5 for the record, 3 for an activity, 3 for the investigatory project and 5 for the viva. The apparatus stays at school, but a home tutor can still go through every record entry for aim, diagram, observation table and result; explain precautions and sources of error; and run a mock viva with questions such as why several readings are taken or what the slope of a graph means. That preparation is predictable, and coaching batches rarely cover it.
A home tutor should not repeat a lecture the student has already heard. The useful work is narrower:
For chapter priorities, read the topic-wise JEE physics plan and the NEET physics chapters that repay the most time. The physics tutor for JEE page explains how we match, and our comparison of coaching and a home tutor for JEE weighs the options.
The habit that saves the most marks across all these exams is a fixed order of working, repeated until it is automatic:
Keep one shared doubt notebook: the question, the first attempt left uncorrected, a one-line note on what went wrong, and a clean solution written a few days later. Bring it, or the latest test, to the free demo; a capable tutor should spot the weak step before teaching anything new.
Senior students often get home late, which pushes physics into the evening, when main roads are busiest. Whether the slot holds depends on the tutor's route. Find tutors locality by locality on the Jodhpur home tuition page.
Shastri Nagar is easy to reach from Sardarpura, Chopasni Housing Board or Ratanada, and apartments are common, so mention the guard desk and parking. Roads around the circle are busiest on school-day evenings. Residency Road mixes homes with offices and shops; the main road stays busy into the evening, so weekends often suit a long physics session.
Mahamandir has its own station on the Jodhpur–Jaisalmer line, a clear first landmark; most tutors arrive by two-wheeler or auto from Paota or Ratanada. Mandore is mostly independent houses with easy two-wheeler parking; the road into the city is busier at school and office hours, so set the class outside them.
Vidhya Nagar has plots, houses, builder floors and flats; in a gated layout, ask the guard to expect the tutor. Banar Road has many newer buildings, so share gate and visitor rules before the first class, plus a clear landmark on the road.
When a school test or an entrance mock runs late, swap that evening's visit for an online lesson with the same tutor rather than cancelling.
Starting in Class 11 is usually the less costly route, because mechanics rests on vectors and graphs that return throughout Class 12; our stream choice guide helps before that year begins.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fees, which follow the target exam, the tutor's experience with it, the evening trip to your locality and the number of weekly sessions. Every fee is visible before the demo; the Jodhpur home tuition fees guide lists questions worth asking.
Send the class, board and main goal (board paper, JEE or NEET), the evenings already taken, your locality with a landmark, and the times still free. We send two or three physics tutors with their fees, and you choose whom to meet at the free demo. A poor fit leads to a second demo, and changing tutor later is free. If no one suitable can reach you, we suggest online or part-online lessons. NXTutors is based in Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India; the national physics home tutor page shows how we work elsewhere, and the chemistry home tutor in Jodhpur page covers the other compulsory science.

The board's 2026-27 syllabus gives 70 theory marks, 56 from the written paper and 14 sessional, plus 30 for the practical exam. Theory and practical must each be passed separately. Optics is the largest unit at 11 written marks, followed by electromagnetic induction and alternating current at 9.
Yes. In the board's Senior Secondary science faculty, physics and chemistry are compulsory, and the student adds biology, maths or another listed subject. That makes a sound physics plan necessary whether your child is heading towards engineering, medicine or neither, and a tutor should cover both theory and practical work.
Yes, more than families expect. The equipment stays at school, but a tutor can check each record entry for aim, diagram, readings and result, explain precautions and sources of error, and run a mock viva. On CBSE the practical is worth 30, split between experiments, record, activity, project and viva.
It helps when the tutor does a different job from classroom teaching: clearing unsolved problems, sorting mock-test errors and keeping board answers in shape. JEE Main 2026 and NEET 2026 both marked +4 for a right answer and −1 for a wrong one, so careless guessing has a real cost.
Electricity and magnetism, at 33 of the 70 theory marks, nearly half the paper. Optics with electromagnetic waves brings 18, modern physics 12 and semiconductor electronics 7. Transistors and logic gates are no longer in the syllabus, so older notes that still teach them need trimming before revision starts.
Usually, yes. Mahamandir's station makes a clear first landmark, and Mandore's independent houses mean easy two-wheeler parking. The road into the city is busier at school and office hours, so agree a slot outside those times, and switch to an online lesson on evenings when tests run late.
