Jodhpur Home Tuition Guide: Central, North, West and South Jodhpur
Jodhpur's homes spread out from the old centre in four broad directions. The middle of the city takes in Sardarpura, Shastri Nagar, Ratanada and Residency Road. To the north sit Paota, Mahamandir, Mandore, Vidhya Nagar and Banar Road; to the west, Chopasni Housing Board, Shyam Nagar, Pal Road and Pal Link Road; and to the south, Bhagat Ki Kothi, Basni, Kudi Bhagtasni Housing Board, Krishna Nagar and Jhalamand. Below, zone by zone, is what to tell a home tutor before the first visit.
How do tutors move around Jodhpur?
Most home tutors ride their own two-wheeler, with autos and cabs filling the gaps. Stations make reference points everyone recognises: Jodhpur Junction in the centre, Mahamandir and Mandor on the Jodhpur–Jaisalmer line to the north, a small single-platform station at Banar further out, Bhagat Ki Kothi on the Jodhpur–Luni section just south of the centre, and Basni on the Marwar Junction–Munabao line. Paota Bus Stand, the main stand for government and private buses, is another.
| Zone | Pin codes in the zone | Rail or bus point nearby | What to send before the demo |
|---|---|---|---|
| Central Jodhpur (Sardarpura–Ratanada) | 342003, 342011 | Jodhpur Junction | Building name and floor, plus a circle or market landmark |
| North Jodhpur (Paota–Mandore) | 342006 | Paota Bus Stand, Mahamandir and Mandor stations | A map pin and plot number for newer colonies |
| West Jodhpur (Chopasni–Pal Road) | 342008, 342014 | Road access only, mainly along Pal Road | Sector and house number, or tower and flat number |
| South Jodhpur (Basni–Kudi Bhagtasni) | 342005, 342011, 342016 | Basni and Bhagat Ki Kothi stations | Sector and block, or the colony name and nearest junction |
Central Jodhpur (Sardarpura–Ratanada)
Close to the main station and the airport, the centre draws tutors from almost any side; the catch is the crowded evening.
- Sardarpura: homes stand beside a well-known shopping market, with autos and cabs easy to find. Book a class before the evening shoppers arrive, and if you live in a flat above shops, send the building name and floor.
- Shastri Nagar: shares the 342003 pin code with Sardarpura and has many apartments next to older houses. Mention any guard desk at the gate and where a two-wheeler can stand.
- Ratanada: a central residential area with independent houses in older colonies and flats in newer buildings. The roads towards the station and airport fill up late in the afternoon, so pick a regular slot outside that window.
- Residency Road: named after its main road, with homes among offices and shops. For a side-lane house, a nearby landmark saves time; for a flat on the main road, share entrance and parking details.
North Jodhpur (Paota–Mandore)
Tutors can reach the north by bus, local train, two-wheeler or auto, but plotted colonies further out need careful directions.
- Paota: a busy locality built around the city's main bus stand, with houses, flats and plots. Give a landmark that keeps the tutor off the most crowded stretch near the stand, and agree a fixed time.
- Mahamandir: a residential area with its own station on the Jodhpur–Jaisalmer line. Name the station or the junction you are nearest to, and say where a two-wheeler can be left safely.
- Mandore: north of the city along the Jodhpur–Bikaner road, known for its old gardens, with mostly independent houses on plots. Parking is usually simple; families in newer colonies should send a pin before the first class.
- Vidhya Nagar: a broad mix of plots, houses, builder floors, villas and flats, with new plotted projects still coming up. In a gated layout, ask the guard desk to expect the tutor and share the plot number.
- Banar Road: named after the road towards Banar, with many flats in newer buildings. Check gate entry, visitor registers and parking rules before the demo, and avoid school and office hours on the main road.
West Jodhpur (Chopasni–Pal Road)
The western zone runs from the edge of the centre towards Kaylana Lake, a landmark most families on this side recognise. Tutors come by road; sector layouts are easy to find, newer colonies less so.
- Chopasni Housing Board: a housing board colony organised by sector, with flats and houses on plots. Send the sector and house or flat number, and mention the floor for a flat block.
- Shyam Nagar: shares the 342008 pin code with Chopasni Housing Board and sits between the centre and the Pal Road colonies, so tutors from either side can reach it. Homes mix houses and flats.
- Pal Road: a residential belt of apartment buildings and colony houses along the road towards Pal. Register the tutor's name and timing with the guard desk, and pick a time away from the evening flow towards the city.
- Pal Link Road: a growing locality of flats, houses, plots and villas, many in gated layouts. A pin location or a well-known junction helps on the first visit, and the gate should know when the tutor is due.
South Jodhpur (Basni–Kudi Bhagtasni)
The southern zone stretches from just below the city centre out to the newer colonies around Jhalamand. Two stations serve it, and National Highway 62 passes through on its way to Pali.
- Bhagat Ki Kothi: close to the centre, with a station on the Jodhpur–Luni section and railway land beside the homes. Roads near the station get busier around train times, so fix a slot and give a clear landmark.
- Basni: a wide area of family housing with its own station. Because the colonies spread out, name the colony or nearest junction as well as the locality.
- Kudi Bhagtasni Housing Board: a large housing board scheme in numbered sectors, with flats and houses. Share the sector, block and house or flat number together; the layout does the rest.
- Krishna Nagar: mostly independent houses on individual plots, so the tutor comes straight to the door. Newer colonies can be hard to find, so send a pin before the first visit.
- Jhalamand: a growing area with plots and apartment projects around Jhalamand Circle, the easiest landmark to give. Tell the gate of a newer building when the tutor is expected.
Which board, and which kind of tutor?
Jodhpur students study under the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (RBSE), CBSE, ICSE and ISC, and a few follow IB or IGCSE. RBSE's own website, rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in, is the place for its notices and dates; it conducts the Secondary (Class 10) and Senior Secondary (Class 12) examinations. Name the board and the medium of instruction in your request.
- For the state board, start with Rajasthan board tutors in Jodhpur; for the national boards, CBSE tutors and ICSE and ISC tutors.
- For a single subject, see maths, science, physics, chemistry, biology and English home tutors.
- For entrance preparation alongside Class 11 or 12, see JEE and NEET tutors in Jodhpur.
Home, online or both?
A home tutor suits younger children and students who work better with someone beside them; online classes suit a specialist who lives far away. Many families combine the two, and an online tutor for Jodhpur students can be added to a home plan at any point. Our comparison of home and online tutors sets out the trade-offs, and the Jodhpur home tuition fees guide explains what a quote covers.
A first-visit checklist for any part of the city
- Send the full address with a landmark: a station, circle, market or sector number.
- Tell the tutor whether you live in an independent house, a builder floor or an apartment, and where to park.
- Let the gate or guard desk know the tutor's name and timing.
- Agree a fixed slot away from the busiest hours on your nearest main road.
- Keep a table, good light and the child's school notebooks ready for the free demo.

Frequently asked questions
Which parts of Jodhpur does this guide cover?
It covers eighteen localities in four zones: the centre around Sardarpura and Ratanada, the north from Paota to Mandore, the west along Chopasni and Pal Road, and the south from Bhagat Ki Kothi to Jhalamand. Each locality links to its own page with nearby tutors and practical notes for families.
How do home tutors usually travel in Jodhpur?
Most ride their own two-wheeler, and autos and cabs cover the rest. Stations such as Jodhpur Junction, Mahamandir, Basni and Bhagat Ki Kothi, along with Paota Bus Stand, work well as landmarks. Giving one of them in your address makes the first visit far easier to plan.
What should we tell a tutor before the first class?
Share the full address with a landmark, the type of home, any gate or guard desk rules and where a two-wheeler can be parked. For sector colonies such as Chopasni or Kudi Bhagtasni, add the sector and block. In newer plotted colonies, a map pin saves the tutor a search.
Can we find an RBSE tutor through NXTutors in Jodhpur?
Yes. Mention RBSE, the class and the medium of instruction in your request, and we shortlist tutors who teach that board, nearest first. If no suitable home tutor lives close by, we can suggest online tutors who know the Rajasthan board syllabus, so lessons still match your child's textbooks.
What if no home tutor lives near our colony?
We widen the search step by step: your zone, then the rest of Jodhpur, then online tutors from across India. Many families keep a nearby home tutor for one subject and add an online specialist for another. The first class with every tutor on the shortlist is a free demo.
