Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

ICSE students carry more subjects, write longer answers and keep more project work going than most of their friends on other boards. None of that is hard in isolation; the trouble is keeping it all moving at once. A home tutor in Jodhpur is most useful as the person who keeps that load balanced: spotting the subject that is slipping, holding early chapters in memory through the year, and making sure the internal work is done on time. This page explains how the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations structures ICSE and ISC, where the marks actually come from, how tutors reach colonies on the west and south sides of the city, and what to test at the demo. Maths guidance on NXTutors is written by Abhinandan Tiwary (Class 10 CBSE and ICSE maths) and Ajay Vatsyayan (IB, IGCSE and ISC maths), and science guidance by Aaditya Kashyap (CBSE and ICSE science).
CISCE sets the ICSE examination at the end of Class 10 and the ISC examination at the end of Class 12, and publishes regulations, syllabuses and specimen papers for both on cisce.org. In Jodhpur, schools also follow CBSE and the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan, whose Secondary and Senior Secondary exams sit at the same two points. A tutor who has taught several boards is useful, but ask specifically about CISCE: the answer style and the weight of internal work are different enough that general board experience is not a substitute.
| Group | Typical subjects | Exam : internal | Where a tutor helps most |
|---|---|---|---|
| Group I, compulsory | English; a second language; History, Civics and Geography | 80 : 20 | Essay and letter structure, map work, source-based answers |
| Group II, two or three | Mathematics, Science, Economics, Commercial Studies, languages, Environmental Science and others | 80 : 20 | Steady coverage, worked practice, timed papers from the autumn |
| Group III, one | Applied subjects such as Computer Applications, Art, Physical Education, Robotics and AI | 50 : 50 | A schedule for the project so half the marks are not left to the last month |
Group III is the subject families forget. Because half its marks are earned through the year, a month of neglect shows up directly in the result. A tutor does not need to teach it; they only need to ask about it every week.
ICSE Mathematics is one 80-mark paper with 20 internal marks earned through at least two assignments, each assessed by the school's teacher and an external examiner. Alongside algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistics, the syllabus includes commercial topics that are unfamiliar to students coming from other boards, and the examiner expects every step of working. Physics, Chemistry and Biology are three separate 80-mark papers, each with 20 marks of internal practical assessment. A student can be strong in one and weak in another, so treat them as three subjects, not one "science".
After each exam season CISCE publishes an Analysis of Pupil Performance for each subject, describing where candidates lost marks. A tutor who reads these alongside the specimen papers is preparing your child for the examiner who will actually mark the script. Subject depth: maths, physics, chemistry and biology tutors in Jodhpur, and our ICSE and ISC maths guide.
CISCE papers reward complete, well-organised written answers across subjects, and English sits in the compulsory group. A student who reads well but writes in short fragments loses marks quietly in English, in History and Civics, and in the explanatory parts of the science papers. The fix is practice in the format: one full answer per session, written without help and then marked line by line. For a student who speaks Hindi at home and finds formal English writing slow, a few weeks of this changes the pace noticeably. Our English home tutors in Jodhpur page covers the subject on its own.
| Regulation | Decision it forces |
|---|---|
| English plus three to five electives, no more than six subjects | Pick electives for where the student is heading, not to fill a timetable |
| Subjects cannot change after 15 September of the Class 11 registration year, and a Class 12 subject must have been studied in Class 11 | Use the first term to test whether each elective fits; a tutor can give an honest view quickly |
| Promotion needs 35 percent in four subjects including English, and 75 percent attendance | English cannot be left to look after itself in Class 11 |
| Practicals are compulsory where a subject has them; Physics cannot be taken with Engineering Science | Keep practical records current through the year |
| Grades from 1 to 9; a pass certificate needs four subjects including English, plus SUPW and Community Service | The non-exam requirements count, so keep them on the list |
ISC Mathematics carries an 80-mark theory paper and 20 marks of project work in each year. The ISC maths tutor page covers it in detail.
A student in ISC science who is also preparing for an entrance exam has two calendars to reconcile: the school's chapter order and the batch's or self-study plan's. They rarely match. In the first month of Class 11, ask the tutor to put the two side by side and mark where they diverge, so the student is never meeting a topic for the first time in a test. Our JEE and NEET pages for Jodhpur explain how a tutor fits beside a batch, and choosing a Class 11 stream helps with the choice itself. Students moving to another board after Class 10 can compare with our CBSE and Rajasthan Board pages for Jodhpur.
With so many subjects, the danger in an ICSE year is not failing to learn a chapter but forgetting it by the time of the board. A simple routine prevents this. Every session ends with a few questions from a chapter finished weeks earlier, chosen by the tutor, answered without notes. Chapters that fail go on a list and come back the following week. By the pre-boards, the list should be short. Our ICSE Class 10 board-year plan was written for Kolkata, but its month-by-month structure works anywhere.
| Session | Main work | Last few questions |
|---|---|---|
| First home visit | Mathematics: the current chapter, with full working checked line by line | An old geometry or commercial-maths topic |
| Second home visit | The weakest science paper, alternating with History and Civics answers in exam months | A definition or diagram from an earlier chapter |
| Short online session | A progress check on the Group III project and any internal assignment due | One English writing task, marked afterwards |
Adjust the balance each term: the subject that slipped in the last school test gets the larger share until it recovers.
Tutors travel by two-wheeler or auto. We search near your colony first, then the zone and the city, and offer online lessons when the right subject specialist lives too far away for a weekly visit.
See the West Jodhpur and South Jodhpur zone pages, the Jodhpur home tutors page for every locality, and our Jodhpur home tuition guide.
Written subjects such as English, History and Civics, and ICSE maths with its full working, benefit from a tutor reading the page as it is written, which favours the table. ISC electives with few local specialists, such as some language or commerce papers, are a natural fit for online lessons with a tutor from elsewhere. Many families mix the two: home visits for the core subjects and online sessions for one elective or for revision weeks. On the hottest summer afternoons, a pre-agreed online class keeps the week intact. See online tutors for Jodhpur and the home or online tutor comparison.
If the fit is wrong, we arrange another demo, and switching tutor later is free. The demo class checklist has more questions; the ICSE page for Gurgaon covers the council more generally.

Under the CISCE regulations, Jodhpur ICSE students sit Group I and II subjects as 80 exam and 20 internal marks, and the Group III subject as 50 and 50. Half the marks of an applied subject such as Computer Applications or Art are therefore earned through the year.
No, a Jodhpur ICSE student should treat Physics, Chemistry and Biology as three subjects, because each is a separate 80-mark paper with 20 marks of internal practical assessment. A child can be strong in one and weak in another, so check each result and decide whether the weakest needs a specialist.
ICSE Mathematics surprises Jodhpur students from other boards with commercial topics alongside algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistics, and an examiner who expects every step of working. It is one 80-mark paper, with 20 internal marks earned through at least two assignments assessed by the school teacher and an external examiner.
A Jodhpur family should fix ISC electives early: English plus three to five electives, and no change after 15 September of the Class 11 registration year. Promotion needs 35 percent in four subjects including English and 75 percent attendance, so use the first term to test each elective.
A Jodhpur ICSE tutor keeps early chapters fresh by ending every session with a few questions from a chapter finished weeks earlier, answered without notes. Chapters that fail go on a list and return the following week. By the pre-boards the list should be short, which keeps revision months calm.
Long written answers matter for Jodhpur ICSE students because CISCE papers reward complete, well-organised answers in English, History and Civics and the explanatory parts of the sciences. Students who write in fragments lose marks quietly. One full answer per session, written alone and marked line by line, changes the pace within weeks.
For ICSE and ISC in Jodhpur, home tuition suits English, History and Civics and ICSE maths, where the tutor reads the working as it is written. Online suits ISC electives with few local specialists. Many families mix home visits for core subjects with online sessions for one elective or revision weeks.
ICSE tutors reach Pal Road, Basni and Jhalamand in Jodhpur by two-wheeler or auto, and we search near your colony first, then the zone and city. On Pal Road avoid the evening flow towards the centre; in Basni name your colony and nearest junction; in Jhalamand give Jhalamand Circle as the landmark.
In a Jodhpur ICSE demo, ask which CISCE documents the tutor uses, such as specimen papers, and have your child write one short answer to see how it is marked. Ask about ICSE maths commercial topics, ISC electives, and how the Group III project will be tracked.
