What home tuition costs in Kanpur

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Chemistry home tutor in Kanpur: three branches, two or three exams, one steady weekly plan

Chemistry in Classes 11 and 12 asks a student to do three different things at once: calculate carefully in physical chemistry, follow chains of reactions in organic chemistry, and remember exact statements in inorganic chemistry. A Kanpur student may be doing all of that for the UP Board Intermediate paper or CBSE, and for NEET or JEE as well, with coaching notes piling up in the background. A home tutor's job is to keep those threads tied together: check what was covered this week, test that it stuck, and write it up the way each examiner wants. NXTutors suggests two or three chemistry tutors suited to your child's syllabus and able to reach your part of the city, shows their fees first, and makes the opening class a free demo.

How do the chemistry papers your child faces differ?

Chemistry in the Class 12 year for a Kanpur student: the paper, its shape and the skill it rewards
ExamShape of the chemistrySkill it rewards
UP Board Intermediate, Class 12A 70-mark paper of seven questions, opening with six one-mark objective itemsComplete written answers, with numericals worth at least 8 marks
CBSE Class 12 (043)Theory out of 70 (every one of its 33 questions compulsory), practical out of 30Reasons in writing, balanced equations, careful numericals
NEET (UG), 2026 patternA quarter of the paper: 45 questions and 180 marks, pen on paperQuick, exact NCERT recall
JEE Main 2026, Paper 125 of 75 questions: 20 objective and 5 numerical-answerMechanisms, and physical-chemistry problems with several stages

In 2026 both NTA exams gave +4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong one. NTA republishes the pattern each year, so read the newest bulletin. Chapter priorities are in our NEET chemistry chapters guide and JEE chemistry by branch; the NEET chemistry tutor page explains how we match for medical entrance, and the NEET home tutor in Kanpur page covers all three subjects.

What does the UP Board Class 12 chemistry paper ask for?

The UP Board (UPMSP) Class 12 chemistry syllabus sets a 70-mark paper of seven questions. The first holds six objective items of one mark; the rest step up through questions of two, three, four and five marks. At least 8 marks must come from numerical questions, so a UP Board student cannot afford to treat physical chemistry as optional. Beyond that, take the scheme, the practical and the dates from upmsp.edu.in rather than from guesswork.

Two practical points follow for a tutor. First, the step from one-mark items to five-mark answers means the student must be able to write at length as well as recall quickly. Second, a UP Board student may answer in Hindi, and chemistry has a lot of terminology; ask for a tutor who teaches in the language your child writes in. The UP Board tutors in Kanpur page covers the board as a whole.

CBSE Class 12 chemistry: how are the marks shared among the branches?

CBSE fixes marks chapter by chapter, and in 2026-27 the paper keeps last session's design. Grouped by branch, organic chemistry carries 33, physical 23 and inorganic 14:

CBSE Class 12 chemistry 2026-27: the ten theory chapters grouped by branch, with their marks
Branch (total)Chapters and marksWeekly drill
Physical (23)Chemical kinetics 7; solutions 7; electrochemistry 9Two numericals each lesson, units carried throughout
Inorganic (14)Coordination compounds 7; the d- and f-block elements 7IUPAC names, isomer counts, and one reason per trend
Organic (33)Amines 6; haloalkanes and haloarenes 6; alcohols, phenols and ethers 6; biomolecules 7; aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids 8Conversion chains and tests that tell compounds apart

Students get three hours for sections A to E; a handful of questions carry an internal choice; calculators and log tables stay outside. Only about two-fifths of the paper rewards knowing and understanding, while three-fifths needs application, analysis or evaluation. For every chapter in detail, open our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide; for the shape of a tutored board year, the Class 12 chemistry tutor page.

Which CBSE topics are dropped or left to the school, and what about entrance exams?

CBSE has removed two areas from Class 12 for 2026-27: Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block, and the solid state. Four others stay in the classroom but are assessed internally only: polymers, chemistry in everyday life, surface chemistry and how elements are isolated.

A student preparing for NEET or JEE should not strike these off too quickly. NTA publishes entrance syllabi on its own, and material a board has removed, including parts of the p-block, can still appear there. Use the board list for board revision only, and the official entrance list for everything else.

What should a weekly home session do beside coaching?

A Kanpur student in Classes 11 and 12 may also attend coaching; Kakadeo is known for its entrance-exam coaching centres. The home session should follow the coaching chapter rather than run ahead of it, and give each branch what a crowded batch cannot:

  1. Physical: slow, watched numericals. Students tend to know the formula and then drop the mark on a unit or a misplaced power of ten. The tutor watches one or two problems solved line by line.
  2. Organic: one reaction map. One page on which every functional group connects to the next, from alcohols to amines, redrawn without notes each week and checked against NCERT; conversions then read as routes.
  3. Inorganic: exact sentences. Short oral quizzes straight from the textbook, with the reason behind each trend.
  4. Board finish. Two "give reasons" questions at the end, marked before the tutor leaves.

How much of the CBSE practical can be rehearsed at home?

More than families expect. Of the 30 practical marks, volumetric analysis and salt analysis bring 8 each, a content-based experiment 6, the project 4, and the record together with the viva 4. In the titration this session, a KMnO4 solution is run against either oxalic acid or Mohr's salt (ferrous ammonium sulphate), and each student weighs out and prepares the standard solution personally.

Without a lab, a home tutor can still rehearse the molarity working for the weighed sample, a neat burette-reading table leading to the answer, the reasoning behind each salt-analysis test, first steps through to confirmation, a manageable project topic, and viva favourites such as why no separate indicator is added in a permanganate titration.

Why does Class 11 chemistry decide Class 12?

Moles, equilibrium and the opening organic chapters are Class 11 topics, yet Class 12 solutions, electrochemistry and conversions are built from them, and so are many entrance questions. Fixing them in Class 11 is usually the smaller job. More on the Class 11 chemistry tutor page; the national chemistry home tutor page shows our approach elsewhere.

What changes for an evening chemistry lesson in six Kanpur localities?

Six localities in the north-west, centre and west of the city show the practical differences. Every locality is on our Kanpur page.

Civil Lines
North of Mall Road, with flats, independent houses and villas. Building gates may ask visitors to sign in, so send the block and flat number ahead. Avoid crossing Bada Chauraha at office hours; the underground stations at Bada Chauraha and Naveen Market suit tutors from the Kanpur Central side.
Swaroop Nagar
Apartment buildings and residential plots, with daily markets near by. Moti Jheel station on the Orange Line is close; for a flat, ask the guard to note the tutor's name for regular visits.
Pandu Nagar
A settled residential locality beside Kakadeo, so a tutor from the coaching area next door may be a short ride away. Geeta Nagar station in the neighbouring area links west to Kalyanpur and on through the underground section to Kanpur Central. Keep the same slot every week.
Shastri Nagar
A central colony where autos are easy to find, and tutors from Kakadeo, Pandu Nagar or Govind Nagar can usually reach most homes. Give the block or lane and a landmark, as colony roads look alike to a first-time visitor.
Rawatpur
A busy area of homes, shops and a bus station around Rawatpur Chauraha, where the metro station connects with the railway station on GT Road. The crossing is crowded at office and school hours, so late afternoon or early evening works better.
Kalyanpur
A large western area along GT Road with its own metro station and a railway station on the Anwarganj–Mathura line. Say which part you live in; laid-out colonies have clear house numbers, while older lanes suit a two-wheeler.

In the weeks before the pre-boards, an unreliable route need not break the plan: move one visit a week online. The North-West Kanpur zone guide covers the Mall Road side in more detail.

Can you find ISC, IB or IGCSE chemistry tutors?

  • ISC: alongside theory, CISCE assesses practical and project work; good ISC answers explain rather than repeat an NCERT line.
  • IB Diploma: taught at SL or HL around the themes of structure and of reactivity. The student alone shapes the scientific investigation; a tutor can question it but not write it.
  • Cambridge IGCSE: science papers come in Core and Extended tiers; see how Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE compare.

Specialists for these courses are fewer than for CBSE or the UP Board, so ask early. When none can travel to you, an online specialist can teach the course while a local tutor marks written practice.

How are chemistry tuition fees set in Kanpur?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every tutor names a rate, which rises with the target exam and their experience of it; the evening trip to your locality and the number of weekly sessions matter too. All fees are visible before the demo, and the Kanpur home tuition fees post explains what to compare.

What should you send for a chemistry shortlist?

List the class and board, the target exam, the weakest branch, coaching days, your locality and landmark, and open evenings. We return two or three chemistry tutors, fees attached; you meet your pick at a free demo, ask for another demo if it does not click, and can change tutor later at no cost. Where no one suitable can travel to you, lessons can run online or partly online. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after our team has reviewed the ID (details). Chemistry Home Tutor in Kanpur: common questions

How are chemistry tuition rates set for Class 11-12 students in Kanpur?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every chemistry tutor in Kanpur names their own rate, which rises with the target exam and their experience of it. The evening trip to your locality and weekly sessions matter too, and all fees are visible before the demo.

What should I list when asking for a chemistry tutor shortlist in Kanpur?

For a chemistry home tutor in Kanpur, list the class and board, target exam, weakest branch, coaching days, your locality with a landmark and open evenings. We return two or three matched tutors, each fee shown before the first class. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.

What is the format of the UP Board Class 12 chemistry paper a Kanpur student sits?

The UP Board Class 12 chemistry paper for Kanpur students is a 70-mark paper of seven questions. It opens with six one-mark objective items, then moves through questions worth two, three, four and five marks, with at least 8 marks from numericals. Check the practical scheme and dates on upmsp.edu.in.

Is organic chemistry the biggest share of CBSE Class 12 chemistry for a Kanpur student?

Organic chemistry is the biggest share of CBSE Class 12 chemistry for a Kanpur student, with 33 of the 70 theory marks against 23 physical and 14 inorganic. Electrochemistry, a physical chapter, carries 9, more than any other single chapter. Neither calculators nor log tables may be used in the paper.

Can a Kanpur NEET or JEE student skip chemistry topics CBSE dropped for 2026-27?

A Kanpur NEET or JEE student should not skip chemistry topics CBSE dropped without checking the entrance syllabus. CBSE removed the solid state and Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block for 2026-27, but NTA publishes entrance syllabi separately. Use the board list for board revision and the official entrance list for NEET or JEE.

Without a school lab, how does a Kanpur tutor prepare a CBSE student for the titration and salt analysis?

A Kanpur chemistry home tutor can rehearse everything for the CBSE practical except the lab work itself. That covers molarity working for the weighed sample, a neat burette-reading table, the order of salt-analysis tests, a manageable project topic and viva questions. In CBSE, the titration and the salt analysis are worth 8 of the 30 practical marks each.

What should a home chemistry session add to a Kakadeo coaching week in Kanpur?

A home chemistry session in Kanpur should follow the Kakadeo coaching chapter, not run ahead of it, and give each branch what a batch cannot. That means watched physical numericals, one organic reaction map redrawn weekly and short oral quizzes on inorganic statements. It ends with two give-reasons questions marked before the tutor leaves.

Is extra chemistry help in Class 11 worth it for a Kanpur student?

Extra chemistry help in Class 11 is usually worth it for a Kanpur student, because the mole concept, equilibrium and early organic chemistry return in Class 12. They underpin solutions, electrochemistry and conversions for the board paper and entrance tests. Fixing them in Class 11 is the smaller job than repairing gaps in the board year.

Can a chemistry tutor reach Pandu Nagar or Shastri Nagar after coaching hours in Kanpur?

A chemistry tutor can usually reach Pandu Nagar or Shastri Nagar in Kanpur after coaching, since both sit beside the Kakadeo coaching area. Tutors from nearby localities come by two-wheeler or auto, and Geeta Nagar station is close to Pandu Nagar. Share the lane or block with a landmark and keep one weekly slot.

Home or online chemistry lessons in Kanpur before the pre-boards?

Home chemistry lessons suit most Kanpur students who need numericals watched line by line, but online fills gaps when routes are unreliable. In the weeks before the pre-boards, move one visit a week online rather than breaking the plan. Where no suitable tutor can travel to you, lessons can run online or partly online.

Are ISC or IB chemistry tutors available for Kanpur students?

ISC and IB chemistry tutors are available for some Kanpur students, but they are fewer than CBSE or UP Board tutors, so ask early and state the exam year. IB chemistry is built around structure and reactivity, and its investigation must be the student's own. An online specialist can pair with a local tutor.
