Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Ask a Vijayawada student in the senior years which subject feels heaviest and chemistry often comes up: reactions to remember in organic, numericals with awkward units in physical, and long lists of trends in inorganic, all taught at speed while weekly tests keep coming. Whether your child is on the Intermediate course or CBSE, with NEET, JEE or only the board in view, the gap is usually the same: nobody has time to check what has actually stuck. A home chemistry tutor does that checking. NXTutors shortlists two or three chemistry tutors familiar with your child's syllabus and able to reach your part of the city; you compare their fees first, and the first lesson is a free demo.
Many students face two or three chemistry assessments in the same year, and each one rewards something different. Settle which matters most before the tutor plans a single week.
| Exam | How much chemistry | Skill it pays for |
|---|---|---|
| CBSE Class 12 (043) | A three-hour theory paper for 70, every one of its 33 questions compulsory; a 30-mark practical | Reasons in words, balanced equations, tidy numericals |
| Intermediate (BIEAP) | Syllabus and paper set by the Andhra Pradesh board | Whatever the current scheme on bie.ap.gov.in sets out |
| NEET (UG), as held in 2026 | 45 questions out of 180, worth 180 of 720 marks, answered on paper | Quick and exact recall of NCERT lines |
| JEE Main 2026, Paper 1 | A third of the questions (25 of 75), five of them answered with a number rather than an option | Mechanisms and multi-step physical problems |
In both NTA exams a correct answer earned four marks and a wrong one cost a mark in 2026. The pattern is announced afresh each year, so check the latest bulletin. For entrance chemistry, read about the NEET chemistry chapters that matter most and our JEE chemistry guide by branch; the NEET chemistry tutor page explains how we match for it, and the NEET home tutor in Vijayawada page covers all three NEET subjects together.
The Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh runs the two-year Intermediate course and its examinations, and it sets and changes its own syllabus and scheme. We do not describe its chemistry paper here; bie.ap.gov.in is the place to confirm the current rules. When you speak to a tutor, ask whether they teach from the prescribed Intermediate textbook, whether they have seen recent board question papers, and how they will keep written board answers in shape while entrance preparation fills most of the week. A tutor with clear answers to all three is a sound choice.
Unusually, CBSE assigns chemistry marks to individual chapters, which makes a plan simple to build. For 2026-27, with the same paper design as last session, the ten theory chapters fall into four bands:
| Band | Chapters (branch) | Practice for this band |
|---|---|---|
| 9 marks | Electrochemistry (physical) | Cell and conductance problems with units written at every step |
| 8 marks | Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids (organic) | Named reactions and conversions laid out as chains |
| 7 marks each | Solutions and Chemical Kinetics (physical); d- and f-Block Elements and Coordination Compounds (inorganic); Biomolecules (organic) | Colligative and rate problems; one-line reasons for trends; naming, isomers and structures |
| 6 marks each | Haloalkanes and Haloarenes; Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers; Amines (all organic) | Mechanisms step by step, tests to tell compounds apart, basicity order |
By branch, organic totals 33, physical 23 and inorganic 14. The three hours cover five lettered sections with a few internal choices, and calculators and log tables are not allowed. Around 40% of the paper is about remembering and understanding; the rest ask for application, analysis or evaluation. Our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide takes each chapter in turn, and the Class 12 chemistry tutor page shows a board-year plan.
For 2026-27 CBSE has cut two areas from Class 12 completely: the chapter on solids, and the part of the p-block covering Groups 15 to 18. Four more remain in the course but are tested only by the school, never on the board paper: surface chemistry, the extraction of elements from their ores, polymers, and chemistry in everyday life.
Entrance students need care with both lists. NTA publishes its own syllabus, and material the board has dropped, parts of the p-block among it, may still be examined. So read the official entrance syllabus before deleting anything from a revision plan, and treat the board list as a guide to board revision alone.
A home session should follow the chapter taught that week, not run ahead of it, and give each branch the attention a big lecture hall cannot:
End each session with two board-style "give reasons" questions, marked before the tutor leaves, so the written paper keeps pace with objective practice.
A good deal. The marks split as 8 for titration, 8 for salt analysis, 6 for an experiment based on the theory, 4 for the project, and 4 for the record and viva together. In the current session the volumetric task titrates KMnO4 with either oxalic acid or ferrous ammonium sulphate (Mohr's salt), and candidates must weigh and make up their own standard solution.
The bench work happens in school. At the dining table, though, a tutor can practise working out molarity from a mass the student has weighed, setting out burette readings so the result follows cleanly, running through salt analysis from the first dry tests to the confirming ones, choosing a project small enough to finish, and answering the viva question examiners like most: why does a permanganate titration need no added indicator?
Six localities in the centre and the east of the city show the practical differences. Every locality is listed on the Vijayawada home tuition page.
| Locality | Homes | Arrival | Timing tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Governorpet | Lanes of family homes behind textile shops, hotels and showrooms | Reachable by city bus or auto from almost anywhere; two-wheeler is easiest | After the markets quieten in the evening |
| Suryaraopet | Apartment buildings and independent houses | Tutors from Labbipet, Governorpet and Moghalrajpuram can come over easily | A slot with a little margin, as the main streets are busy on weekday evenings |
| Labbipet | Mostly two- and three-bedroom flats, some villas | Along Bandar Road by bus, auto or two-wheeler; share the flat number with the guard | A weekday slot before the evening shopping rush |
| Benz Circle | Low-rise and mid-rise flats where National Highways 16 and 65 meet | Gate sign-in at most buildings; Madhura Nagar and Ramavarappadu stations nearby | A tutor from your side of the junction, away from office hours |
| Ramavarappadu | Houses and flats in a census town that joined the metropolitan area in 2017 | The Inner Ring Road brings tutors from the west without crossing the centre | Outside the evening rush at the ring junction |
| Machavaram | Independent houses, villas and plots, ringed by colonies | Doorstep arrival; Machavaram Down Road links it to Eluru Road | An early-evening slot, before roads towards Eluru Road fill |
Close to pre-boards, if a route turns unreliable, move one weekly visit online so revision does not slip. The Benz Circle and Patamata zone guide adds more local detail for the eastern side.
Specialists for these courses are fewer than for CBSE or the state board, so ask early. If none can travel to you, an online specialist can teach while a local tutor marks the written practice.
The second year is built on the first. The mole concept, equilibrium and the opening organic chapters come back in solutions, electrochemistry and every conversion question, and a weak base costs marks a year later in the board paper and in entrance tests alike. A term spent on those foundations usually costs less than repairing them under board pressure. See the Class 11 chemistry tutor page, or the national chemistry home tutor page, which explains our matching elsewhere.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor sets their own rate. It rises with the exam in view and the tutor's experience of it, and the evening journey to your locality and the number of weekly sessions count too. All fees are visible before the demo.
Send the class, the syllabus, the main exam, the branch that costs your child marks, the days of college or entrance classes, your locality with a landmark, and the evenings that are free. We return two or three chemistry tutors with their fees, and you choose one for a free demo class. If the first is not right, a second demo follows, and switching tutor later is free. If nobody suitable can reach you, we suggest online or mixed lessons. NXTutors works from Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India. The physics and biology tutor pages for Vijayawada cover the other sciences.
Chemistry teachers living in Vijayawada who would like pupils in their own part of the city can look through current requests on the Vijayawada tuition jobs page.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor names their own rate, and you compare every shortlisted fee before any demo.
Yes. We look for tutors who teach from the prescribed Intermediate textbook, know recent question papers of the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh, and can keep written board answers strong alongside entrance work. The board revises its own scheme, so confirm current rules on bie.ap.gov.in.
Electrochemistry, with 9 marks in 2026-27. Aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids follow on 8, and five chapters carry 7 each. By branch, organic is worth 33 of the 70 theory marks, physical 23 and inorganic 14, so organic deserves the largest weekly share of time.
Yes. The solid state and Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block are out for 2026-27, and four topics are assessed only in school. NTA sets its own entrance syllabus, though, and some dropped material can still appear in NEET or JEE, so check the official list before skipping.
In the 2026 pattern chemistry had 45 of the 180 questions, carrying 180 of the 720 marks, with four marks for a correct answer and one taken away for a wrong one. Inorganic questions in particular reward exact NCERT wording, so short, frequent recall quizzes help more than long rereading.
Much of it. Titration and salt analysis carry 8 marks each, and a tutor can rehearse the molarity working, a clean table of burette readings, the order of salt-analysis tests and likely viva questions. The experiments themselves happen at school, but the thinking behind them can be practised anywhere.
We match across Central Vijayawada, Benz Circle and Patamata, Eluru Road and the north, One Town and the west, and the Kanuru and Poranki side. Tutors closest to you are offered first, then others in your zone and across the city, with online lessons where nobody suitable can travel.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
