Rajasthan Board tutors in Bikaner: compulsory Hindi, the Arts and Agriculture faculties, and papers with a practical

Many Bikaner families study on the state board, and plenty of senior students choose Arts or another faculty beyond Science and Commerce. This page reads the board's own documents for those choices: what every Class 12 student sits whatever the faculty, how compulsory Hindi divides its 80 marks, how history, political science and geography are built, which subjects carry a separate practical, and what the Agriculture faculty involves, then how tutors reach colonies on the east, south and south-west sides of Bikaner. Every exam detail comes from rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in; check the current files there before you plan.

The board, in two lines

The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER, which most people call RBSE) began in Jaipur in December 1957 under the state's Secondary Education Act and has been based in Ajmer since 1961. It conducts the Secondary School and Vocational Examination after Class 10, the Senior Secondary Examination after Class 12 in Arts, Science and Commerce, Praveshika and Varishtha Upadhyay for Sanskrit education, and a State Talent Search Examination.

One rule from the Class 12 prospectus matters first: where a textbook's printed syllabus differs from the one on the board's website, the updated website version and its mark split count. Plan from the current PDF.

What every Class 12 student sits, in any faculty

In every faculty, four things are common. Hindi and English are compulsory papers. "Azadi ke baad ka Swarnim Bharat" Part 2 is a further compulsory subject, and regular students also take part in the Samaj Seva Yojana, which the prospectus places in the summer break after Class 11. The same document sets out a school week of 48 periods:

Weekly periods in Class 12, from the RBSE prospectus for the 2026 examination
Part of the weekPeriodsWhat it means for tuition
Hindi (compulsory)6As many periods as English; it deserves its own revision slot
English (compulsory)6Writing and grammar marks can be built steadily
Swarnim Bharat Part 23Usually handled at school; ask the school how it is assessed
Three optional subjects33 (11 each)Where most tutor hours go

Families often hire help for the optional subjects and forget the compulsory pair, though a weak Hindi or English paper lowers the result just as surely.

Compulsory Hindi: where its 80 marks sit

Hindi (subject code 01) has a single 80-mark written paper, and the school adds 20 sessional marks. The 2026–27 syllabus divides the written part like this:

RBSE Class 12 Hindi compulsory, written marks, 2026–27 syllabus
BlockMarksWhat it containsPractice at home
Unseen reading8One prose and one verse extract, 4 marks eachA new extract each week, answered in full sentences
Creative and practical writing22An essay of about 300 words (6); letters and official drafts such as a notice, tender, memo or notification (6); questions on the Abhivyakti aur Madhyam book (4); a feature (4); turning a story into a play or radio play (2)One timed essay or draft a week, marked for format as well as content
Practical grammar8Language and script, shabd shakti, alankar and technical terms, 2 marks eachShort drills; a list of alankar with one example each
Aroh Part 231Explanation with context of prose and verse passages, questions on both, and the life of a writer or poetPassage explanations written out, not just read
Vitan Part 211Questions on the supplementary readerA short summary of each chapter in the student's words

The prescribed books are NCERT's Aroh, Vitan and Abhivyakti aur Madhyam, published under copyright. The writing block is the one a tutor can move fastest: official formats have fixed parts, and a student who has drafted each type a few times stops losing marks to layout. For the English paper and reading habits in general, see English home tutors in Bikaner.

Choosing three Arts subjects

An Arts student takes three optional subjects from a long list in the prospectus. It includes economics, political science, history, geography, mathematics, sociology, psychology, philosophy, public administration, home science, drawing, physical education, music or Kathak dance, environment science, computer science or informatics practices, English literature, Sanskrit literature, and one literature from Hindi, Urdu, Sindhi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Rajasthani, Persian or Prakrit. A vocational trade can also fill a place.

That breadth makes tutor matching more specific: a strong history tutor may not teach psychology. List all three subjects and the medium in your request, and expect a mix of a home tutor for the most writing-heavy subject and an online specialist for a rarer one. If Class 10 is ending and the choice is still open, read our board and stream guide.

History: twelve themes and a map

History (code 13) is examined out of 80 on paper, with the school's 20 sessional marks added. It follows NCERT's Themes in Indian History in three parts of four themes each, from the Harappan civilisation to the making of the Constitution. Each theme carries 6 or 7 marks, and map work adds 6.

No single theme carries much weight, so nothing can be skipped. A useful plan is one theme a week ending in a written answer, plus a standing map routine.

Political science in two halves

Political science (code 11) is also 80 written marks plus 20 sessional. The syllabus splits the 80 evenly: Part A, Contemporary World Politics, carries 40, and Part B, Politics in India Since Independence, carries the other 40. A student who likes one half and neglects the other gives away a large share of the paper. Ask the tutor to alternate the two parts through the term and to set at least one long answer from each part before every school test.

Geography: theory plus a practical

Geography in the Arts faculty (code 14) is split into a theory paper and a practical. Theory is worth 70 (56 written plus 14 sessional) and the practical 30 (16 for the practical work plus 14 for the record and viva, 10 and 4). The written 56 is shared equally between two books: Fundamentals of Human Geography (28) and India: People and Economy (28), and each includes 3 marks of map work on an outline map.

The practical record is built through the year, not in the final month, so a tutor should check it alongside the theory and keep practice outline maps for both books.

Pass marks, and the Arts subjects with practicals

The prospectus prints a pass mark for every subject. For a one-paper subject marked out of 100, such as history, political science or Hindi, it is 33. For a subject with a practical, theory (out of 70) and practical (out of 30) are passed separately, at 23 and 10. In Arts, that second pattern covers geography, drawing, home science and psychology, among others. A strong theory student can still fail by neglecting the practical, so ask the tutor to check the practical file early.

The Agriculture faculty

Besides Arts, Science and Commerce, the prospectus lists an Agriculture faculty. A student takes three subjects: Agriculture and Agriculture Biology are compulsory, and the third is chosen from agriculture chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science or informatics practices, environment science or a vocational trade. Agriculture Biology has a theory part of 70 (56 written plus 14 sessional) and a practical of 30, passed separately, and its first unit, plant breeding, carries 8 marks.

Tutors for these subjects are fewer, so name the exact subjects and be open to an online specialist for the agriculture papers. A vocational trade, such as health care, retail or IT and IT-enabled services, can be taken in any faculty only by a student who passed it in Class 11, as the third optional or a fourth, additional subject. The biology and chemistry pages for Bikaner describe how those tutors work.

Long answers: how a tutor trains them

Arts papers are won on written answers that address the question, follow an order and stop at the right length. One routine works for history, political science, geography and Hindi alike:

  1. The student reads the question aloud and underlines what it asks for: explain, compare, describe or evaluate.
  2. Before writing, the student jots three or four points in the margin and numbers them.
  3. The answer is written to time, with a heading line, the points in order and a one-line close.
  4. The tutor marks it for structure, facts and length, then the student rewrites the weakest paragraph.

RBSE tutors for east, south and south-west Bikaner

Matching starts with tutors close to your colony and widens to the zone and the rest of Bikaner; for a subject nobody nearby teaches, we propose an online tutor. Notes for six colonies:

What to share before a tutor's first visit
ColonySide of the cityAddress detail that helps
Sadul GanjEast-centralHouse number, street and the nearest corner or well-known shop
Rani BazarSouth-east of the centreIn the industrial area, the road number with the building name
Marudhara NagarSouth-centralWhich side of the colony park you live on
GangashaharSouth-westMohalla, lane and a nearby shop, plus a map pin
BhinasarSouth, next to GangashaharMohalla name and a well-known corner; lane numbers are rarely used
SujandesarSouth-west, west of GangashaharLane, house number and a landmark; the postal spelling is Sujandeser

The JNV Colony and Sadul Ganj, Rani Bazar and Pawanpuri and Gangashahar and Bhinasar zone pages go further, every colony is listed on the Bikaner home tutors page, and our Bikaner home tuition guide covers the city zone by zone.

Home visits, online lessons, or both

For Hindi and the writing-heavy Arts subjects, a tutor at the table can correct each answer as it is written. For a rarer elective, or for a student on the edge of the city, an online specialist is often the realistic choice. Bikaner summers are very hot, so many families move visits to the morning or evening in those months, or switch to online for a while. Our online tuition in Bikaner page explains how to set that up, and the home or online tutor comparison weighs the two.

What to ask an RBSE tutor in the trial class

  1. Have you read this session's syllabus file for each of my child's three subjects?
  2. How would you plan the 22 writing marks in compulsory Hindi?
  3. Which subject on our list carries a practical, and how will you keep the record on track?
  4. Can you set and mark one long answer a week in my child's medium?
  5. Where will you travel from, and what changes in the summer?

Your shortlist has two or three matched tutors, each with a fee you can read before the trial. That first lesson costs nothing, and neither does changing tutor afterwards. Anyone joining as a tutor goes through an ID check, and the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete. Our parents' demo checklist adds more questions. For Class 10 papers and the Science and Commerce faculties, see our Rajasthan Board pages for Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota.
