CBSE home tutors in Bikaner: NCERT made solid, board choices planned early, answers written the CBSE way

In Bikaner, CBSE sits beside the Rajasthan board, and many families know both. Children move between them, cousins study on the other one, and the same NCERT book can be on the table for either. What differs is the paper: how questions are framed, how answers are marked, and which choices a student has to make along the way. A CBSE home tutor helps most by knowing those details and planning around them. This page covers the CBSE route from Class 6 to Class 12, the decisions that come up in Classes 9, 10 and 11, what changes when a child moves between boards or from Hindi to English medium, and which details help a tutor find your home in six colonies.

CBSE and the Rajasthan board: one bookshelf, two papers

The Rajasthan board prescribes NCERT books for mathematics and the sciences, so a CBSE student and an RBSE student in Bikaner often study from the same chapters. The differences are in the structure around them. RBSE makes Hindi and English compulsory in Class 12 and prints its own syllabus files with marks against each unit. CBSE publishes its curriculum, sample papers and marking schemes on cbseacademic.nic.in, and at the secondary level about half of its questions are competency-focused, testing application rather than recall. A tutor who has taught both can tell you which habits carry over and which do not. For the state board in detail, see Rajasthan Board home tutors in Bikaner.

Each Class 10 subject needs 33% to pass. Problems that seem to appear in Class 9 usually began years earlier, so tuition in Classes 6 to 8 should repair before it rushes ahead. Our post on the new NCERT books for Classes 6 to 8 explains what changed in those years.

Class 9: the Advanced paper decision

In the 2026–27 curriculum, maths and science in Class 9 each have one 80-mark paper that all students write. Besides these, an optional 25-mark Advanced paper can be chosen in one subject, both or none; it asks higher-order questions on extra content. The marks are kept out of the aggregate, but the marksheet records a score of 50% or more.

Make the decision with the tutor in the first term, after a few chapter tests. A student who already enjoys maths and finishes school work comfortably can gain from the extra challenge. A student who is struggling with the common paper should not take it as a way to catch up. The old split into Basic and Standard maths is ending; the Class 10 batch of 2026–27 is the final one to use it. See our post on the Class 9 Advanced papers.

Class 10: two board exams, one plan

Class 10 now has two board examinations. The first is compulsory. A student who passes can sit the second to raise the marks of as many as three subjects from science, maths, social science and the languages. It is tempting to treat the second as a fallback and ease off for the first. A better plan treats the first as the real exam, finishes the syllabus in good time and uses the second only if one or two subjects fell short. A tutor can then focus the gap between the two on those subjects alone. For a full year's outline, see our Class 10 board year plan, with subject notes for maths and science.

Class 11: Mathematics or Applied Mathematics

At the senior level a student takes either Mathematics (041) or Applied Mathematics (241), never both. The first suits science students and anyone aiming at engineering entrance. The second can suit commerce and humanities students who want maths with a practical slant. The choice is made at the start of Class 11 and is hard to undo, so ask the tutor to look at your child's Class 10 maths work and plans before you decide. Our board and stream guide helps with the wider choice.

Working from the official marking schemes

CBSE releases sample papers with marking schemes on cbseacademic.nic.in. They show how marks are split within an answer: one for the formula, one for substitution, one for the result with its unit, or a mark for each valid point in a long answer. A good habit is for the tutor to mark every practice answer against the scheme in front of the student, so the student sees exactly where a mark was won or lost. After a few weeks, students start writing to the scheme without being told. The design can shift from year to year, so insist on this year's papers.

Changing board, or changing medium

If your child moves from the Rajasthan board to CBSE at Class 9 or Class 11, or the other way, the chapters may look familiar, but the paper does not. Coming into CBSE, the student needs practice with application questions and the marking schemes; going to RBSE, the student needs the board's unit marks, its compulsory Hindi and English papers and its separate practicals.

A move from Hindi-medium to English-medium study is a second, separate hurdle. The ideas are the same but the terms are new. A tutor who explains an idea in Hindi first and then teaches the English words for it, and keeps a two-language glossary for each chapter, can make the first months far easier. Mention both the old and new board and medium when you send a request.

Home or online for CBSE in Bikaner?

For Classes 6 to 10, a tutor at home usually works better: the tutor sees the notebook, the handwriting and the working as it happens. For senior students, a mix is common, with a home tutor for the hardest subject and an online specialist for another. Online also helps on the city's edges, and in the hottest weeks of summer. See online tuition in Bikaner; families elsewhere in the state can start from the Jaipur or Jodhpur pages.

What to ask a CBSE tutor during the free class

  1. Which sample paper and marking scheme will you use, and are they this year's?
  2. Can you mark one of my child's answers against the scheme now, and show where marks went?
  3. For Class 9, would you suggest the Advanced paper for my child, and why?
  4. If my child is moving from the Rajasthan board or from Hindi medium, how will you handle the change?
  5. How will you report progress to us each month?

CBSE Home Tutor in Bikaner (Classes 6–12): common questions

How much does a CBSE home tutor in Bikaner cost?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each CBSE tutor in Bikaner sets their own fee, and you see it before the demo. The pricing guide lists questions to ask.

How do we find a CBSE tutor in Bikaner, and is the first class free?

Yes, the first class with a CBSE tutor in Bikaner is a free demo. Send the class, subjects, any change of board or medium, and your colony with a landmark. We send two or three matched tutors with fees shown first, and switching tutor later is free if the fit is not right.

What changes for a Bikaner child moving from the Rajasthan board to CBSE?

The chapters often look familiar to a Bikaner child moving to CBSE, because both boards use NCERT books for maths and science, but the paper changes. CBSE asks more application questions and marks answers against published schemes. A tutor practises both from the first month and keeps a glossary if the medium changes too.

Should a Bikaner student take the CBSE Class 9 Advanced paper?

A Bikaner student should take the CBSE Class 9 Advanced paper only if they already enjoy the subject and manage the common paper comfortably. It is worth 25 marks in maths, science or both, sits outside the aggregate, and a score of 50% or more is recorded on the marksheet. Decide with the tutor after early chapter tests.

How should Bikaner families plan for the two CBSE Class 10 board exams?

Bikaner families should plan for the first CBSE Class 10 board exam as the real one, since it is compulsory. A student who passes can sit the second to improve up to three of science, maths, social science and the languages. The tutor then focuses the gap between them on the subjects that fell short.

Mathematics or Applied Mathematics in Class 11: how should a Bikaner student choose?

A Bikaner student takes either Mathematics or Applied Mathematics in CBSE Class 11, never both, so choose with care. Mathematics suits science students and engineering entrance; Applied Mathematics can suit commerce and humanities students wanting a practical slant. Ask the tutor to review the Class 10 maths work before the choice is made.

How are CBSE Class 12 science and maths papers marked for Bikaner students?

For Bikaner students, CBSE Class 12 physics, chemistry and biology are each 70 marks of theory with 30 for practical work. Mathematics or Applied Mathematics, accountancy, business studies and economics are 80 marks of theory with 20 internal. The Class 12 paper covers the full syllabus, so the tutor should finish teaching early.

Why do Bikaner CBSE tutors mark practice answers against the official scheme?

Bikaner CBSE tutors mark practice answers against the official scheme so the student sees exactly where each mark is won or lost. Schemes on cbseacademic.nic.in split marks within an answer, for the formula, the substitution and the result with its unit. After a few weeks, students start writing to the scheme on their own.

Can a CBSE tutor in Bikaner help a child moving from Hindi to English medium?

Yes, a CBSE tutor in Bikaner can help a child moving from Hindi to English medium by explaining each idea in Hindi first. The tutor then teaches the English terms and keeps a two-language glossary for each chapter. Mention both the old and new medium in your request so the match fits.

How do CBSE tutors reach Rani Bazar, Sadul Ganj or Sujandesar in Bikaner?

CBSE tutors reach Rani Bazar homes by the road number in the industrial area or the house and lane, and Sadul Ganj by the street, house number and nearest corner. In Sujandesar, give the lane, house number and a landmark. If no nearby tutor fits, an online CBSE specialist can cover one subject.
