Tutoring in Bikaner: what to know
For tutors, Bikaner falls into six zones on NXTutors. The old city takes in Kote Gate, Chaukhunti Mohalla and Purani Ginani near Junagarh Fort; North-West Bikaner covers Murlidhar Vyas Colony, Bangla Nagar and Mukta Prasad Nagar; and Lalgarh and Karni Nagar holds the northern colonies with Samta Nagar. On the east, JNV Colony and Sadul Ganj adds Surajpura Colony and Vallabh Garden; south of the centre are Rani Bazar, Pawanpuri, Sudarshana Nagar and Marudhara Nagar; and the south-west is Gangashahar, Bhinasar and Sujandesar. Old-city homes are found by mohalla, chowk and shop sign, while the newer colonies run by block or sector number.
Students in Bikaner follow the Rajasthan board, CBSE, CISCE and, less often, IB or IGCSE, and they study in Hindi, English or a mix. The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan, based in Ajmer, holds the Class 10 Secondary School Examination and the Class 12 Senior Secondary Examination in Arts, Science and Commerce, plus Praveshika and Varishtha Upadhyay for Sanskrit Shiksha students. State on your profile which medium you teach in, and whether you can explain a topic in both languages, because a child switching from Hindi-medium to English-medium books in Class 11 often needs exactly that.
Home visits, online classes and a blend of both are all open to you. Say a Karni Nagar parent wants help with Class 9 maths: NXTutors draws up a list of two or three, looking first at tutors who live in Karni Nagar, next at people already teaching there, and after that at the zone, the whole of Bikaner and online. Your fee is visible to that parent ahead of a free first demo, and if the family later moves to someone else, the change costs them nothing. Bikaner summers are very hot, so early-morning and evening slots tend to hold up, and the outer colonies are often easier to serve partly online.

1
Sign up with a one-time code
Create your account with a one-time code sent to your phone or email. Then add what you teach: subjects, classes, boards such as RBSE, CBSE or ICSE, your medium, and the Bikaner localities you can reach.
-
2
Upload your ID for the ID check
After that comes the ID check: add a government photo ID, as everyone joining does. The check establishes your identity and nothing more, so it is neither a police check nor a background check.
-
3
Your profile carries the Verified badge
Your public profile shows parents the boards you teach, your localities between Kote Gate and Gangashahar, the hours you keep open and your own fee. The Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete.

4
A family nearby sends a request
Suppose a request comes from JNV Colony or Sadul Ganj. NXTutors picks two or three tutors, starting with people living in that locality, then those who already travel there, then the zone, Bikaner and online.
-
5
Free demo; the family sees your fee first
Nothing is booked until the parent has seen your fee. Lesson one is a free demo in the family's home, during which a parent is asked to stay, and it is your chance to gauge the child's level, medium and spare hours.

Teach at home, online or both
After that, teach at homes in the localities you chose, take online students across Rajasthan or the rest of India, or mix the two, for example a Sunday visit in Bhinasar and weekday lessons on video.
Boards you can teach in Bikaner
Bikaner students you might teach include Rajasthan board candidates heading for the Secondary and Senior Secondary examinations, Sanskrit Shiksha students taking Praveshika or Varishtha Upadhyay, students of CBSE and CISCE at matching stages, and the odd IB or IGCSE learner, usually online. RBSE posts its syllabus and notices on its own website, so check there each session, not an old printout. CBSE lessons start from the NCERT textbooks and the board's sample question papers; ICSE and ISC work starts from the CISCE regulations; IB and IGCSE start from the official subject guides. List each board, class and medium you teach.
RBSE
Secondary (Class 10); Senior Secondary (Class 12)
Set up in 1957 and based in Ajmer since 1961, RBSE holds the Class 10 Secondary School Examination and the Class 12 Senior Secondary Examination in Arts, Science and Commerce, and Praveshika and Varishtha Upadhyay for Sanskrit Shiksha students. Ask the student's medium at the demo, and read syllabus details and notices only on rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in.
For CBSE learners in Bikaner, move through the NCERT textbook one chapter at a time, then test each chapter against the board's own sample question papers, published with their marking guidance on cbseacademic.nic.in. Where a student reads English-medium books but speaks Hindi at home, check early whether written answers need language support as well as subject help.
CISCE
ICSE (Class 10); ISC (Class 12)
The two CISCE stages, ICSE for Class 10 and ISC for Class 12, expect long, careful answers over a broad range of subjects, and English includes set literature texts. Work from the regulations and specimen question papers that CISCE posts. A tutor at ease with these papers can mix visits inside one Bikaner zone with ISC learners taught online in other cities.
IB
Diploma Programme (Classes 11–12)
A Bikaner student on the IB Diploma will most likely meet you on screen, with lessons built on the subject guides that ibo.org publishes. Coaching the plan for an Internal Assessment or the Extended Essay is fine; writing any part of it is not. Agree one standing weekly session that leaves the school timetable untouched.
Start by confirming the exam body, Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel, and the tier the student is entered for. Revision then leans on old question papers, the matching mark schemes and the meaning of each command word. The Cambridge syllabus documents sit on cambridgeinternational.org, and Bikaner learners mostly reach such specialists online.
