Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

In Bikaner, a maths tutor often walks into a home where several things are happening at once: a younger cousin doing homework at the same table, a parent who learnt the subject in Hindi, and a school notebook full of sums marked only with a tick or a cross. The tutor's real job is to read those crosses and find the step where the method broke. Tell NXTutors the class, the board behind the paper (the Rajasthan board, CBSE, CISCE or an international course), the medium your child writes in and your colony. We reply with two or three maths tutors who fit. Each fee is on the shortlist before you meet anyone, and the first class is a free demo.
Two named authors stand behind the exam guidance here. Ajay Vatsyayan wrote the IB, IGCSE and ISC parts, and Abhinandan Tiwary the Class 10 CBSE and ICSE parts. Everything about the Rajasthan board comes from the syllabus and prospectus the board itself publishes. Find your child's row; the last column is a fair question to put to a tutor before you even book the demo.
| Paper | Set by | Marks | Ask the tutor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Class 10, Secondary School Examination | Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (RBSE) | 80 written; the school sends 20 sessional | Will the term plan follow the board's chapter marks? |
| Class 12, Senior Secondary mathematics | RBSE | One written paper of 80, with 20 sessional | Have you taught it in Hindi medium, English medium or both? |
| Class 10 Standard or Basic | CBSE | Board paper 80; school assessment 20 | Which level suits my child, and what tells you so? |
| Class 12 mathematics | CBSE | 38 compulsory questions worth 80; internal 20 | In which month does calculus begin? |
| ICSE (10) and ISC (12) | CISCE | Paper of 80; internal assessment or projects 20 | Is your syllabus copy for my child's exam year? |
| IB Diploma; Cambridge IGCSE | IB; Cambridge | IB papers plus a written exploration; IGCSE entered at one of two tiers | Which of these have you taught recently? |
The Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan, began in Jaipur in 1957 and moved to Ajmer in 1961. It runs the Secondary School Examination at Class 10 and the Senior Secondary Examination at Class 12, and for maths it uses the NCERT textbook, printed for the board under copyright. Its 2026-27 syllabus fixes a share of the 80 written marks for every chapter, which a Bikaner tutor can turn straight into a term plan:
| Group | Chapters (marks) | Teaching approach |
|---|---|---|
| Heaviest chapter | Statistics (13) | Grouped-data tables for mean, median and mode, rebuilt until every column adds up |
| Trigonometry | Introduction to trigonometry (8); heights and distances (5) | Identities first, then a neat figure before any ratio is written |
| Geometry and measurement | Coordinate geometry (7); circles (6); surface areas and volumes (6) | A formula page the student writes and is quizzed on weekly |
| Five marks each | Linear equations in two variables; arithmetic progressions; areas related to circles | Word problems turned into equations one sentence at a time |
| Four marks each | Real numbers, polynomials, quadratic equations, triangles, probability | Little and often, so small chapters never become lost marks |
Statistics alone outweighs any two of the four-mark chapters together, and the two trigonometry chapters add up to the same 13. So a sensible tutor reaches statistics well before the half-yearly exam instead of leaving it for winter. Our Rajasthan board tutor in Bikaner page covers the board's other subjects.
The school, not the board, reports 20 sessional marks for each main Class 10 subject, built from several parts:
The board publishes its syllabus in Hindi and in English, and Bikaner schools teach in either, so the medium matters as much as the board when you choose. A Hindi-medium student should write answers with the terms printed in the Hindi textbook, even when an idea is first explained in English, because that is the language the examiner reads. Ask for a tutor who talks comfortably in both but keeps the written working in one.
One more rule from the prospectus: where a printed textbook's syllabus differs from the updated syllabus and marks on the board website, the website wins. Guidebooks handed down in a family can be out of date, so plans should come from the current file on rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in.
CBSE keeps last session's design for 2026-27: 80 board marks over 14 NCERT chapters, grouped into seven units. Algebra is the largest unit at 20 marks, taking in polynomials, two-variable linear equations, quadratics and progressions. Geometry is worth 15; trigonometry, with heights and distances, 12; statistics with probability, 11; mensuration, 10; and real numbers and coordinate geometry, 6 apiece.
Twenty one-mark items open the paper in Section A, eighteen of them multiple-choice and two assertion–reason. Section B then asks five questions worth two marks, C six worth three, D four worth five, and E closes with three case studies of four marks. Calculators stay out of the hall, and π is taken as 22/7 when no value is given. Standard and Basic cover the same chapters at different depths: recall and understanding make up roughly 54% of a Standard paper but roughly 75% of a Basic one, which is why a child who may want maths after Class 10 should sit Standard. An optional second Class 10 exam now lets a student try to improve up to three subjects, maths among them; the schedule should be read only on cbse.gov.in. For chapter-wise help, see the Class 10 maths preparation guide, the board-year planner and our Class 10 maths tutor page.
Senior maths in Bikaner usually follows one of two plans: the board paper alone, or the board paper alongside JEE Main, the engineering entrance test conducted by the National Testing Agency. A home tutor helps most with narrow, specific jobs:
In 2026, JEE Main Paper 1 set 25 maths questions: twenty with options and five asking for a number. A right answer scored four and a wrong one lost one; check the coming year's pattern on jeemain.nta.nic.in. Read the JEE maths topic-wise guide and the Class 12 calculus and algebra guide, or see our JEE home tutor in Bikaner and Class 12 maths tutor pages.
Teachers for these courses can be hard to find close to home in Bikaner, so name the course in your first message. Where nobody suitable is nearby, an online specialist can carry the course and a local tutor can mark the practice.
Addresses work differently across Bikaner: lanes and chowks in the old city, blocks and sectors in the planned colonies. Getting the address right spares the tutor a wasted first trip. Compare tutors by locality on our Bikaner page.
| Colony | Homes | Address to give | Settle early |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kote Gate | Family homes in lanes on both sides of the old gate, often with cousins of several ages under one roof | Mohalla, the chowk you turn at, and a shop or house sign | A quiet corner the child will not share during the lesson |
| Purani Ginani | Lanes of family homes on the old city's northern edge, also called Old Ginani | Lane, any house number and a corner; Junagarh Fort is the usual landmark | An early-evening slot from April, once the afternoon heat passes |
| Murlidhar Vyas Colony | A large colony of homes on the western side, known as MDV Colony | Block or sector, house number and the main road you turn from | One evening a week left free for revision |
| Mukta Prasad Nagar | A wide colony on the north-west edge, also written Mukta Prasad Colony | Sector, block and house number, plus a map pin | Whether an online session can cover a week when the nearest tutor is busy |
| Karni Nagar | A calm colony in north Bikaner laid out in blocks, such as Block A and Block B | Block letter first, then house number and the road you enter by | A fixed weekday slot a little after school |
| Jai Narayan Vyas Colony | JNV Colony, a large east-side colony in numbered sectors | Sector number, house number and a corner the tutor will know | How the hour is split if two children share one tutor |
The zone pages for Old City and Kote Gate, North-West Bikaner and JNV Colony and Sadul Ganj add local detail, and the Bikaner home tuition guide walks through the whole city.
Ask for this week's school chapter, not a topic the tutor has rehearsed. Keep the last marked test and the class notebook on the table, and look for four signs:
If it does not feel right, say so and the next tutor on your shortlist gives a demo; a later change of tutor is free as well. The demo class checklist for parents has more to look for.
Sitting beside the child, a tutor sees a wrong step while the pencil is still moving. That matters most for young pupils, for geometry figures and for Hindi-medium students whose written terms need watching. Online lessons suit a specialist on the far side of the city, an ISC or IB course with few local teachers, or a colony on the city's edge where fewer tutors live. In Bikaner's very hot summer months, an online session can also replace a midday visit. Plenty of families combine a home visit with an online lesson each week; the home tutor or online tutor article and our online tuition in Bikaner page weigh the two.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors decide their own rates. While comparing, ask each one which board and class they taught most recently, how many weekly sessions they would advise, and whether exam weeks could switch to online. All fees are visible before the demo, and the Bikaner home tuition fees guide lists further questions.
Five details are enough: the class; the course by full name (RBSE, CBSE Standard or Basic, ICSE, ISC, IB or IGCSE); the medium your child writes in; your colony with a landmark; and the days and times free around school. We send two or three maths tutors with fees, and you invite one to a free demo. If nobody suitable can reach your colony at that hour, we propose an online or mixed plan. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). NXTutors has its office in Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India. The national maths home tutor page, maths tutors in Jodhpur, and our Jaipur and Jodhpur pages show our work elsewhere in Rajasthan. For science in Bikaner, see science and physics.
Maths teachers living in Bikaner who want students near home can find open requests on the Bikaner tuition jobs page.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each Bikaner maths tutor sets their own fee. Ask which board and class they taught most recently and how many weekly sessions they advise.
NXTutors matches a Bikaner family with two or three maths tutors after learning the class, the full course name, the medium, the colony with a landmark and the free times. Every fee is on the shortlist before you meet. The first class is a free demo, and switching tutor later is free.
Statistics carries the most marks in RBSE Class 10 maths for 2026-27, with 13 of the 80 written marks. The two trigonometry chapters also total 13, coordinate geometry adds 7, and circles and surface areas bring 6 each, so a Bikaner tutor should reach statistics well before the half-yearly exam.
No, a Hindi-medium RBSE student in Bikaner should write maths answers with the terms printed in the Hindi textbook. A tutor may explain an idea in English first, but the written working should stay in the medium the examiner reads. The board publishes its syllabus in both Hindi and English.
A Bikaner tutor should follow the updated RBSE syllabus and marks on the board website, because the prospectus says the website version wins where a printed textbook differs. Old guidebooks handed down in a family may be out of date, so plans should come from the current file on rajeduboard.rajasthan.gov.in.
The 20 RBSE Class 10 sessional marks in maths come from school tests worth 10, a project worth 5, and attendance, conduct and tree planting worth 5 together. A home tutor can turn each school test into a checkpoint and guide the project, which must remain the student's own work.
A Bikaner CBSE Class 10 student who may want maths after Class 10 should choose Standard. Both levels share the same chapters, but recall and understanding make up roughly 54% of Standard marks and roughly 75% of Basic. A tutor should recommend a level from the child's recent written work.
A home tutor helps a Bikaner Class 12 student by repairing Class 11 gaps, marking full board-style working and logging every lost test mark. RBSE Class 12 mathematics is one written paper of 80 with 20 sessional, while CBSE sets 38 compulsory questions for 80, with 35 from calculus.
A family in Kote Gate or Purani Ginani should give the mohalla or lane, the chowk to turn at and a shop or house sign. Lane numbers are rarely used in the old city. In Purani Ginani, Junagarh Fort is the landmark most people use to describe where they live.
An online maths session makes sense for a Bikaner student when the right specialist lives across the city. It also suits ISC or IB courses with few local teachers, and colonies on the city's edge. In the very hot summer months, an online lesson can also replace a midday home visit.
