Physics home tutor in Durg: derivations for the board, speed for the entrance, and a careful look at every wrong step

Physics changes character in Class 11: vectors, graphs and long derivations arrive and run on into Class 12. A Durg student usually writes the Chhattisgarh board's Higher Secondary paper or CBSE's, often with JEE Main or NEET (UG) in mind too. Board and entrance papers reward different practice, and a busy week rarely leaves anyone time to read the student's own working and find the line that went wrong. A home tutor does exactly that. Share the board, the target exam and your colony, and we send two or three physics tutors with fees; the first class with your choice is a free demo.

Which physics paper leads this term, and how is each one scored?

The chapters overlap, but each paper marks them differently, so agree which one leads this term.

Four physics papers Durg's senior students prepare for: the format, the scoring and the practice each one rewards
PaperFormatScoringWeekly practice
CGBSE Higher Secondary physics (201)70 for theory, 30 for the practicalTwo pass marks: 23 in theory and 10 in the practicalLong answers chosen by unit weight, and an up-to-date practical notebook
CBSE Class 12 physics (042)70 theory marks over 33 questions, all compulsory, plus a 30-mark practicalWritten answers, with calculators not permittedDerivations, ray and circuit diagrams, and case studies
JEE Main (2026 pattern)25 physics questions: 20 with options and 5 asking for a numerical valuePlus 4 for a correct answer, minus 1 for a wrong oneMulti-step problems, then a review of each mistake
NEET (UG) (2026 pattern)45 of 180 questions and 180 of 720 marks are physics, answered on paperPlus 4 for a correct answer, minus 1 for a wrong oneClose NCERT reading and fewer blind guesses

The entrance syllabus comes from NTA and may keep chapters a board has dropped; check nta.ac.in first. See the JEE physics topic-wise plan and our high-yield NEET physics chapters; the JEE tutors in Durg and NEET tutors in Durg pages explain how we match for each exam.

How is Class 12 physics marked on the Chhattisgarh board?

The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, headquartered in Raipur, conducts the Higher Secondary examination at the close of Class 12. Its science stream gives every student physics and chemistry, then biology or mathematics; whichever is not chosen can still be taken as an extra subject. Physics is split 70 for theory and 30 for the practical, with separate pass marks of 23 and 10, so good theory cannot cover a weak practical.

In the 2026-27 blueprint, theory marks gather in three places. The block of magnetism, electromagnetic induction and alternating current is worth 19. Electrostatics with current electricity is worth 16, and optics 14. Those three blocks hold 49 of the 70 marks and deserve the most weeks, with other chapters revised steadily.

CGBSE Class 12 physics, 2026-27 blueprint: how the 70 theory marks are asked and what each type of question needs
Question typeHow manyMarks in allWhat it needs
One mark1515Laws, units and definitions recalled at once
Two marks714A formula with each symbol explained, or a brief reason
Three marks618Short derivations and numericals with the unit on every line
Four marks28A labelled figure supporting the working
Five marks315Complete derivations written in a fixed sequence

The blueprints are in Hindi, and Hindi-medium students should write with the textbook's Hindi terms. The Chhattisgarh board tutors in Durg page covers the board as a whole.

How does CBSE group the Class 12 physics marks?

CBSE keeps last session's design for 2026-27. Its fourteen NCERT chapters fall into four blocks: the largest, worth 33, runs from electrostatics and current through magnetism to alternating current; optics with electromagnetic waves brings 18; modern physics, meaning the dual nature of matter and then atoms and nuclei, brings 12; and semiconductors close the paper with 7. Notes that still teach transistors or logic gates are out of date, as both have been removed.

The 33 questions are arranged in five sections. Section A has sixteen one-mark questions, four of them assertion–reason. Section B has five worth 2, C has seven worth 3, D has two 4-mark case studies, and E has three long answers of 5. Close to 38% of the marks reward recall. Physical constants are printed on the paper, and calculators are not allowed. The Class 12 physics strategies article collects the derivations that keep coming back, and the Class 12 physics tutor page sets out a month-by-month plan.

How much of the physics practical can be prepared at home?

More than families expect. In CBSE's 30 practical marks, two experiments are worth 7 each, the record 5, an activity 3, the investigatory project 3 and the viva 5. A complete record has at least eight experiments, four from each section, at least six activities, three per section, and the project report. On the Chhattisgarh board the practical also carries 30, and 10 of them are needed to pass.

Apparatus stays at school, but record entries, precautions and a mock viva can all be done at home: why repeat a reading, and what does the slope of this graph mean?

What can a home tutor add for a Durg student preparing for JEE or NEET?

Quite a lot, provided the home hour does different work from the classroom. Three things tend to drop out of an entrance-heavy week, and a tutor can bring them back:

  • The backlog. Group teaching moves at the pace of the room. Any sheet problem your child skipped, guessed or copied gets reworked at home until your child can talk through it line by line.
  • Board writing. Multiple-choice practice never asks for a full derivation, a labelled ray diagram or a practical write-up. The board paper does, so one home lesson each week protects those marks.
  • Reading a mock test. The score alone hides the cause. Each lost mark is sorted as a gap in understanding, a careless calculation or a question that should have been skipped, and that sorting sets the next week.

Weighing class against tutor? Read JEE: coaching or home tutor and its NEET companion. Whatever you decide, give the home lesson a fixed weekly slot that other classes cannot move.

Which four steps should every physics solution show?

How a solution is laid out tells you how a student thinks. Expect the tutor to demand these four steps on every problem until your child does them without being told:

  1. Sketch first. A rough figure with the forces, axes, rays or current directions, drawn before any equation.
  2. State the principle. Name the law in use, such as conservation of momentum or Kirchhoff's loop rule.
  3. Keep units attached. Every quantity is written with its unit, so a mismatch shows up straight away.
  4. Sense-check the result. A last look at sign and size: is the answer physically reasonable?

Keep one error notebook: question, untouched first attempt, a one-line note on the mistake, and a fresh attempt days later. Bring it and the latest test to the free demo; the tutor worth choosing reads them before teaching.

Will a physics tutor reach your Durg colony in the evening?

Class 11 and 12 students reach home late, so physics usually means an evening lesson, and that lasts only when the tutor lives nearby. Our Durg page lists tutors colony by colony.

What if your child takes ISC, IB or IGCSE physics?

  • ISC. CISCE assesses a project and practical work alongside theory, and gives credit for reasoning written out in sentences. Check that the tutor uses the syllabus for your child's exam year.
  • IB Diploma. Five themes, A to E, make up the course. Written exams count for 80%, and an investigation the student designs and writes alone makes up the other 20%. Our IB physics SL and HL guide has more.
  • Cambridge IGCSE. Entry is at Core or Extended. Anyone joining a Class 11 board course from IGCSE may want a short spell on vectors and graphs first.

Mechanics in Class 11 is built on vectors and graphs, and Class 12 uses both, so an early start pays. See the Class 11 physics tutor page, and our stream choice guide for families still deciding.

What does a physics home tutor in Durg charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Rates are the tutor's own. Good comparison questions: which exams have your students sat lately (CGBSE, CBSE, JEE Main, JEE Advanced, NEET), what is the latest hour you can teach, and could some lessons be online? You see every fee on the shortlist, before any demo; the Durg home tuition fees guide lists more questions.

What should a physics request to NXTutors include?

Tell us the class and board, whether the aim is the board paper, JEE or NEET, the hours of any other classes, your colony and a chowk nearby, and which evenings are open. Back come two or three physics tutors with fees; you pick one for the free demo, may ask for a second demo if it does not suit, and can change tutor later at no cost. If no good match can reach you in the evening, we offer lessons online or partly online. Physics Home Tutor in Durg: common questions

What will a physics home tutor in Durg charge for Class 11 or 12?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Durg physics tutors set their own rates. Ask which exams their recent students sat, the latest hour they can teach, and whether some lessons can be online.

What should a Durg family put in a physics tutor request?

A Durg family should give the class, the board, the main aim (board paper, JEE or NEET), other class timings, the colony with a nearby chowk and the free evenings. NXTutors sends two or three physics tutors with fees. You choose one for a free demo, and changing tutor later costs nothing.

Which units carry the most marks in CGBSE Class 12 physics?

Magnetism, electromagnetic induction and alternating current carry the most, with 19 of the 70 theory marks in the 2026-27 CGBSE blueprint. Electrostatics with current electricity brings 16 and optics 14. Together these three blocks make up 49 marks, so a Durg tutor should give them the most weeks of the year.

Can a Durg student fail CGBSE physics after a good theory paper?

A Durg student can fail CGBSE physics even after a good theory paper, because theory and practical are passed separately. Theory is worth 70 with a pass mark of 23, and the practical is worth 30 with a pass mark of 10. Keeping the practical notebook current all year protects against this risk.

How are the 70 theory marks asked in the CGBSE Class 12 physics paper?

The 2026-27 CGBSE physics blueprint asks fifteen one-mark questions, seven worth 2, six worth 3, two worth 4 and three worth 5. The five-mark answers are usually full derivations, so a Durg student should practise writing them in a fixed order with labelled figures and units on every line.

How is CBSE Class 12 physics divided for a student in Durg?

CBSE Class 12 physics gives 70 marks to theory and 30 to the practical. Theory has 33 compulsory questions in sections A to E, grouped into blocks of 33, 18, 12 and 7 marks. About 38% of marks test recall, calculators are not allowed, and transistors and logic gates have been removed.

Does a JEE or NEET student in Durg still need a home physics tutor?

A JEE or NEET student in Durg can gain from a home tutor who does different work from the class. The tutor reworks skipped problems, keeps board-style derivations and diagrams in practice, and sorts every lost mock-test mark as a concept gap, a careless slip or a question better skipped.

How should families in Ganjpara, Gaya Nagar or Mohan Nagar guide a physics tutor?

Families should give the nearest chowk, the lane and the house, with a landmark. In Ganjpara, name the shop if you live above one. In Gaya Nagar, say which side of the colony you are on. In Mohan Nagar, share the lane, house number and a known landmark before the first evening lesson.

Which physics practical tasks can a Durg tutor prepare away from the school lab?

A Durg tutor can check every record entry, rehearse precautions and sources of error, and hold a mock viva at home. In CBSE, the 30 practical marks cover two experiments at 7 each, the record 5, an activity 3, the project 3 and the viva 5. The CGBSE practical is also 30.

What changes for a Durg student taking ISC, IB or IGCSE physics?

Each of these courses marks physics differently from CGBSE and CBSE. ISC assesses practical work and a project with theory. IB physics has five themes, with exams worth 80% and an independent investigation worth 20%. IGCSE is entered at Core or Extended, and students moving to a board for Class 11 should revise vectors and graphs.
