Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

In Durg, a Class 10 maths paper usually comes from one of two places. The Chhattisgarh board writes a High School paper with its own unit on banking and taxation, and CBSE writes a paper offered at two levels. Some students study for CISCE or an international course instead. The papers differ in how marks are split and how working should be laid out, so a good tutor asks which one your child sits before teaching anything. Send us three facts (class, board and colony, anywhere from Ganjpara to Shankar Nagar) and we suggest two or three maths tutors who match. Each fee is on the shortlist, and your opening lesson is a free demo.
Two named authors stand behind the exam notes. Ajay Vatsyayan writes on IB, IGCSE and ISC maths; Abhinandan Tiwary on Class 10 maths for CBSE and ICSE. Chhattisgarh board figures come from the blueprints and teaching plan posted on cgbse.nic.in. Find your child's row and use the last column as your opening question to any tutor.
| Paper | Examining body | Mark split | Ask the tutor |
|---|---|---|---|
| High School (Class 10) mathematics | Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) | 75 on the written paper, 25 for the project; each part has its own pass mark | Can you show me how you will use this session's blueprint? |
| Higher Secondary (Class 12) mathematics | CGBSE | 80 written, 20 for the project | When in Class 12 will calculus be finished? |
| Class 10 mathematics at two levels | CBSE | The board paper is 80; school marks make up 20 | Which level suits my child, judging by recent tests? |
| Class 12 mathematics | CBSE | 80 across 38 compulsory questions; 20 internal | How will you divide the year between calculus and the rest? |
| ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) | CISCE | 80 written; 20 from internal work or projects | Which exam year's CISCE syllabus are you teaching from? |
| IB Diploma; Cambridge IGCSE | IB; Cambridge | IB: timed papers with an exploration. IGCSE: a choice of two tiers | When did you last teach this course or tier? |
The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, called Chhattisgarh Madhyamik Shiksha Mandal in Hindi, is based in Raipur and holds the High School examination when Class 10 ends. Durg district falls under its Rajnandgaon divisional office. Its 2026-27 maths blueprint gives each unit a fixed slice of the 75 written marks. Families arriving from another state should look closely, because one unit here is rarely seen elsewhere:
| Unit | Marks | What the tutor should do |
|---|---|---|
| Algebra | 20 | Give it a place in every week of the year, since more than a quarter of the paper sits here |
| Geometry | 12 | Insist on a clean, labelled figure before the first line of reasoning |
| Trigonometry | 10 | Learn the ratios and identities as one table, then test them without the book |
| Coordinate geometry and mensuration | 8 apiece | Ask the student to keep a handwritten formula page and re-test it often |
| Commercial mathematics (banking and taxation) | 7 | Unfamiliar to many outside the state; work interest and tax sums slowly with every step written |
| Statistics | 6 | Tables drawn neatly, because a single wrong column carries through to the answer |
| Proof of mathematical statements | 4 | Few marks, yet each step of the argument must appear in its proper order |
The board prints its blueprints and teaching plan in Hindi. If your child will answer in Hindi, written practice should use the textbook's Hindi words for each idea, even when a method is first talked through in English. For the board's other subjects, see our Chhattisgarh board tutors in Durg page.
The blueprint fixes the layout too. Question 1 is a single question made of fifteen parts worth a mark each. Five questions follow at 2 marks, five at 3, five at 4, and the last three at 5. Add up the final eight answers and they come to 35 marks, nearly half the paper. A child who runs short of time at the end loses far more than one who rushes the opening parts.
The board also sets a balance: 30% of marks easy, 50% average and 20% hard. Knowledge questions carry a fifth, understanding and application a quarter each, and analysis, evaluation and creative work a tenth each. Read a test against that. Good one-mark answers but weak application call for mixed problem sheets; knowing every method but dropping easy marks calls for short recall drills.
The project is not a formality: it has a separate pass mark of 8, just as the written paper needs 25. The board's 2026-27 plan builds the 25 marks this way:
A tutor must not write any of it. The useful role is a monthly check that each write-up is complete, and a practice viva shortly before the school holds the real one.
For 2026-27 the CBSE course is unchanged in design: fourteen NCERT chapters, seven units, 80 marks. Algebra leads with 20. Geometry has 15, trigonometry (heights and distances included) 12, statistics with probability 11, mensuration 10, and real numbers and coordinate geometry 6 apiece.
Twenty one-mark items open the paper in Section A; two of them are assertion–reason and the rest multiple-choice. After that, B asks five 2-mark questions, C six 3-mark ones, D four worth 5, and E three 4-mark case studies. No calculator is allowed, and π means 22/7 unless stated. Both levels share one chapter list but not one depth: remembering and understanding make up roughly 54% of Standard and 75% of Basic. Keep Standard if Class 11 maths is still a possibility. An optional second sitting lets a student try to raise up to three subjects, maths included; its dates come only from cbse.gov.in. In the Chhattisgarh board's science stream, every student takes physics and chemistry, plus either biology or mathematics; the other can be added as an extra subject. The Higher Secondary maths paper carries 80 written marks and 20 for a project, with pass marks of 26 and 7. Calculus alone takes 36 of the 80, vectors and three-dimensional geometry 14, and matrices with determinants 10. The paper opens with fifteen one-mark parts, then has six 2-mark questions, seven 3-mark, three 4-mark and four 5-mark.
CBSE's Class 12 paper also leans on calculus, at 35 of 80 marks over 38 compulsory questions. On either board, three habits shape a sound senior year:
For a Durg student also aiming at JEE Main: the 2026 Paper 1 gave maths 25 questions (twenty with options, five with a numerical answer), scored +4 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong one. Name the course in the first line of your request, since fewer teachers take these. An online course specialist plus a nearby tutor for weekly practice is a workable pairing.
Durg addresses are usually given by chowk, then lane, then house, and colony edges sit close together. A clear description saves the first lesson from starting with a phone call at the corner. Compare tutors colony by colony on our Durg page.
| Colony | What to tell the tutor | Nearby colonies | Agree early |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ganjpara | The nearest chowk, then the lane, then the house; name the shop below if you live upstairs | Gaulipara, Mahavir Colony, Gaya Nagar | A map pin on WhatsApp the evening before the first class |
| Rishabh Nagar | Block or lane, plus the colony you are closest to | Subhash Nagar, New Adarsh Nagar, Ganjpara | Which senior subjects need a tutor and which your child can handle alone |
| Civil Lines | The road name and the closest chowk or landmark | Malviya Nagar, Mohan Nagar, Subhash Nagar | A late-afternoon or early-evening slot that fits office hours |
| Mohan Nagar | Lane, house number and a known landmark; your floor if upstairs | Shankar Nagar, Malviya Nagar, Sai Nagar | How board revision and JEE practice will share the week |
| Malviya Nagar | Your spelling of the colony (the post office writes Malvia Nagar), the lane and the nearest chowk | Mohan Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Sikola Basti | A short diagnostic sheet in the first week for Classes 6 to 8 |
| Shankar Nagar | Which turning to take and a landmark at the corner; whether to ring or call from the gate | Vijay Nagar, Sai Nagar, Baghera | Whether the same tutor can stay through both board years |
The zone guides for Ganjpara and Gaya Nagar, Civil Lines and Mohan Nagar and Shankar Nagar and Baghera add local detail, and the Durg home tuition guide walks through all five zones.
Pick this week's school chapter for the demo, not a topic the tutor chose, and put your child's latest marked test where the tutor can see it. Then notice:
Unsure? Ask us, and the next name on your shortlist gives a demo; a later change of tutor is free as well. Our checklist for parents at the demo has more.
Beside your child, a tutor catches a wrong line the moment it is written, which helps young children, geometry proofs and Hindi-medium writers most. A screen lesson wins when the right specialist lives elsewhere, for ISC or IB, or when a senior student's evenings are full. The twin city can widen the choice as well: see the Bhilai page and maths tutors in Bhilai. Some families settle on one home lesson and one online lesson a week; the home tutor or online tutor article and our online tuition in Durg page compare the options.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Every tutor chooses their own fee. When you compare a shortlist, ask which board and class each tutor taught in the last year, how many visits a week they would suggest before the board exam, and whether a lesson can move online during test weeks. You see each fee before the demo, and the Durg home tuition fees guide lists more questions to ask.
Five details are enough for home tuition in Durg: the class; the full course name (CGBSE, CBSE Standard or Basic, ICSE, ISC, IB or IGCSE); your colony with a chowk or landmark; the days and times free around school; and the fee range you have in mind. We send back two or three maths tutors with their fees, and you choose one for a free demo. If nobody suitable can reach your colony at that hour, we suggest an online or mixed plan. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). NXTutors has its office in Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India. Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each Durg maths tutor chooses their own fee. Ask which board and class they taught in the last year, how many visits a week they suggest before the board exam, and whether a lesson can move online in test weeks.
NXTutors needs five things from a Durg family: the class, the full course name, your colony with a chowk or landmark, free times around school and a fee range. We then send two or three maths tutors with their fees. The first class is a free demo, and changing tutor later is also free.
Algebra carries the most, with 20 of the 75 written marks in the CGBSE Class 10 maths blueprint for 2026-27. Geometry follows with 12 and trigonometry with 10, then coordinate geometry and mensuration at 8 each, commercial mathematics 7, statistics 6 and proof 4. A Durg tutor should give algebra time every single week.
Banking and taxation form the commercial mathematics unit, worth 7 marks in the 2026-27 CGBSE Class 10 maths blueprint. Families who move to Durg from another board often have not met it before. A tutor should work interest and tax sums slowly, writing every step, because the examiner gives marks for the method as well as the answer.
A Durg student should save enough time for the last eight questions, which carry 35 of the 75 marks. Question 1 has fifteen one-mark parts, followed by five questions each at 2, 3 and 4 marks and three at 5. Timed practice on full papers shows whether the long answers are being squeezed.
A Durg maths tutor can guide and check the project, but the student must do the work. The 25 marks are 20 for a record of at least three projects plus a questionnaire, and 5 for a viva. One project is on the environment, and the part has its own pass mark of 8.
Calculus is 36 of the 80 written marks in the 2026-27 CGBSE Class 12 maths blueprint. Vectors with three-dimensional geometry add 14, and matrices with determinants 10. A project adds 20 more, with pass marks of 26 and 7. A Durg student should check limits and derivatives early, since later calculus rests on them.
A Durg CBSE student who may study maths in Class 11 should keep Standard. Both levels cover the same 14 chapters for 80 board marks, but about 54% of Standard marks test remembering and understanding, compared with about 75% in Basic. A tutor can advise using the child's recent school tests.
Give the nearest chowk, then the lane, then the house, which is how most Durg directions run. In Ganjpara, name the shop below if you live upstairs. In Malviya Nagar, give your spelling, as the post office writes Malvia Nagar. In Shankar Nagar, say which turning to take and whether to ring or call from the gate.
An online maths tutor makes sense when the right specialist lives elsewhere, for ISC or IB, or when a senior student's evenings are full. Home lessons suit younger children, geometry proofs and Hindi-medium writers, because a tutor at the table sees each wrong line. Many Durg families mix one of each every week.
