Chemistry home tutor in Durg: numericals with units, conversions that join up, and reasons written in full

Senior chemistry asks for three different skills under one name. Physical chemistry is calculation, organic chemistry is a chain of reactions that must link together, and inorganic chemistry is a set of trends that each need an explanation. A Durg student in Class 11 or 12, writing the Chhattisgarh board or CBSE paper and perhaps preparing for NEET or JEE as well, can be busy with all three and still feel unsure of each. A home chemistry tutor checks every week what was taught, what has stuck, and whether the student can write it the way an examiner wants. Give us your board and colony, and NXTutors suggests two or three chemistry tutors with fees on view; the opening session is a free demo.

How big is chemistry in each paper a Durg senior student may write?

In Class 12 the board paper and an entrance test often run side by side. Each one handles chemistry in its own way:

Chemistry in the board and entrance papers Durg students prepare for, and the skill each one pays for
PaperShare of chemistrySkill it pays for
CGBSE Higher Secondary chemistry (202)70 for theory and 30 for practical; pass marks 23 and 10Answers in the board's own wording, in the medium the student writes in
CBSE Class 12 chemistry (043)A 70-mark theory paper and a 30-mark practicalReasons in words, balanced equations and tidy numericals
NEET (UG), 2026 pattern45 of the 180 questions and 180 of the 720 marks, on paperQuick, accurate recall of NCERT statements
JEE Main 2026, Paper 1A third of the 75 questions, 25, with five of them numerical-answerReaction mechanisms and multi-step physical chemistry

In 2026 both NTA exams awarded four marks for a correct answer and deducted one for a wrong one; the agency confirms the pattern again in every year's bulletin. To set priorities, use our key NEET chemistry chapters, the JEE plan for physical, organic and inorganic chemistry and the NEET chemistry tutor page. For all three NEET subjects, see NEET home tutors in Durg.

How does the Chhattisgarh board set Class 12 chemistry?

The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, whose head office is in Raipur, holds the Higher Secondary examination after Class 12. In its science stream, physics and chemistry are compulsory and the third subject is biology or mathematics, with the other available as an extra. Chemistry is marked out of 70 for theory and 30 for the practical, and the two are passed separately, at 23 and 10.

The heaviest block in the 2026-27 chemistry blueprint is solutions together with electrochemistry, at 16 marks. Every organic chapter, plus kinetics, coordination compounds and the d- and f-block, is worth somewhere from 6 to 8. For a tutor, the spread says two things. Physical chemistry numericals need a fixed slot every week, since one block holds so much. And because no organic chapter is light enough to leave out, conversions should be revised across the whole set, not only the two a student likes.

Blueprints appear on cgbse.nic.in in Hindi, next to the board's model papers and its bank of questions for Classes 9 to 12. Students who answer in Hindi should practise in the board's Hindi vocabulary, and weekly tests are better drawn from those official papers than from a guidebook. The Chhattisgarh board tutors in Durg page covers the rest of the board.

What is each CBSE Class 12 chemistry chapter worth?

Unusually, CBSE fixes marks chapter by chapter in Class 12 chemistry. The design is the same as last session, and the ten theory chapters line up like this, heaviest first:

Chapter marks in CBSE Class 12 chemistry for 2026-27, heaviest first, with branch totals
MarksChapter or chaptersBranch
9ElectrochemistryPhysical (23 marks across the branch)
8The carbonyl chapter: aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acidsOrganic (33 across the branch)
7 eachCoordination compounds; d- and f-block elements; biomolecules; chemical kinetics; solutionsSpread over all three branches; inorganic adds up to 14
6 eachAmines; alcohols, phenols and ethers; haloalkanes and haloarenesOrganic

With 33 marks, organic chemistry is close to half the theory paper, so reaction chains, named reactions and tests that tell compounds apart need time every week. The paper has five lettered sections with a little internal choice, and calculators and log tables are both barred. About two marks in five reward recall and understanding; the rest go to application, analysis and evaluation. Our guide to Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry goes chapter by chapter, and the Class 12 chemistry tutor page sets out the board year.

Which topics has CBSE taken out, and should entrance students still study them?

Two pieces have gone from CBSE Class 12 for 2026-27: the solid state, and the p-block Groups 15 to 18. Four more remain in the course but are tested by the school, not in the board paper: polymers, surface chemistry, the isolation of elements, and chemistry in everyday life.

That list is for board revision only. NTA writes the NEET and JEE syllabi, and topics a board drops, the later p-block groups included, can still appear in an entrance paper. Read the official entrance syllabus before crossing anything off.

What does a good week with a chemistry tutor look like?

Keep the home lesson a step behind school or class, so it consolidates rather than races ahead. A four-part routine fits most weeks:

  1. Talk it through, book closed. The student explains the week's ideas from memory, so gaps show up before anything new is added.
  2. One numerical, watched closely. A problem from solutions, electrochemistry or kinetics, checked line by line. Marks usually go on a dropped unit or a wrong power of ten, rarely on the formula.
  3. The organic route map. One page linking alcohols, carbonyl compounds, acids and amines, redrawn from memory and checked against the textbook until every conversion is a known path.
  4. Two written reasons. Before the tutor leaves, the student writes two short explain-why answers and has them marked, so board-style writing never falls behind objective drills.

Inorganic trends stick better through short textbook quizzes in which the student must explain each pattern. NEET in particular pays for the textbook's precise wording.

How much practical preparation can happen outside the school lab?

A good deal. Of CBSE's 30 practical marks, volumetric work and salt analysis take 8 apiece, a theory-linked experiment 6, the project 4, and record with viva the last 4. In this session's titration, permanganate is run against oxalic acid or Mohr's salt, and every student weighs out the solid and prepares their own standard solution. The Chhattisgarh board also gives its practical 30 marks, with 10 needed to pass.

None of the following needs a lab: working out molarity from the mass weighed, setting out burette readings in a clean table, the sequence of salt analysis through to the confirmatory test, planning a realistic project, and viva favourites such as why permanganate needs no separate indicator.

What should you arrange for an evening chemistry lesson in six Durg colonies?

Six addresses, six slightly different things to arrange. Every Durg colony appears on our Durg page.

Pachri Para and Shitala Nagar

In Pachri Para, say which small lane to turn into and describe your gate or door; a nearby shop name helps most visitors. Shitala Nagar is also written Shitla Nagar, so use the spelling a delivery rider knows, add the nearest chowk, and mention your gate colour for the first evening.

Civil Lines and Malviya Nagar

Civil Lines addresses are clearest with the road name and a clear chowk or landmark, and many families here plan lessons around office hours. Malviya Nagar is near the G. E. Road; its post office writes Malvia Nagar, so give your own spelling with the lane.

Shankar Nagar and Vijay Nagar

Shankar Nagar's lanes join several colonies, so name the turning and a corner landmark, and say whether the tutor should ring or phone from the gate. In Vijay Nagar, point to a shop or corner visible from the road and say which entrance to use. A tutor living in Shankar Nagar can usually reach both.

During revision, swapping a visit for a screen lesson keeps the routine going. For more on each area, see the Civil Lines and Mohan Nagar or Shankar Nagar and Baghera zone guide.

Is your child studying ISC, IB or IGCSE chemistry?

  • ISC: practical and project work are marked alongside the written paper, and answers should explain rather than recite.
  • IB Diploma: taught at SL or HL around the themes of structure and reactivity. The internal investigation belongs to the student; a tutor may ask questions about it but never write it.
  • Cambridge IGCSE: entered at Core or Extended. Our comparison of Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE explains how the two differ.

Local teachers for these are fewer, so put the course name first in your request. Families often combine an online course specialist with a Durg tutor who marks written work.

Why does Class 11 chemistry decide so much of Class 12?

Nearly all of Class 12 rests on Class 11. The mole concept, equilibrium and the first organic chapters come back in electrochemistry, in solutions and in every reaction sequence, so an old gap costs marks twice, on the board paper and in the entrance test. One term of repair in Class 11 is far easier than patching in the board year. Our Class 11 chemistry tutor page and the national chemistry home tutor guide explain more.

What does a chemistry home tutor in Durg cost?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor names their own rate. Worth asking every one: which exam did your recent students take, how will you balance board writing and entrance practice, and can a lesson go online in a heavy week? Fees are shown before the demo, and the Durg home tuition fees guide has a longer list.

What should your chemistry message to us say?

Mention the class, board and target exam, which branch loses your child marks, timings of any other classes, your colony and a nearby chowk, and the evenings you can offer. Two or three chemistry tutors come back to you with fees; one of them gives the free demo. A poor fit leads to another demo, and a change of tutor mid-year is free. Where no one suitable can travel to you, lessons can run online or partly online. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works). Chemistry Home Tutor in Durg: common questions

What does a chemistry home tutor charge a Durg student in Class 11 or 12?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each Durg chemistry tutor names their own rate. Ask which exam their recent students took, how they balance board writing with entrance practice, and whether a lesson can go online.

What should a Durg family tell NXTutors when asking for a chemistry tutor?

A Durg family should give the class, board, target exam, weak branch of chemistry, other class timings, colony with a nearby chowk and free evenings. NXTutors replies with two or three chemistry tutors and their fees, and one of them gives a free demo.

Which part of CGBSE Class 12 chemistry carries the most marks?

Solutions together with electrochemistry carry the most, at 16 marks in the 2026-27 CGBSE chemistry blueprint. Chemical kinetics, the d- and f-block, coordination compounds and each organic chapter are worth 6 to 8 marks. A Durg tutor should keep a weekly slot for physical chemistry numericals and revise every organic chapter.

What are the pass marks in CGBSE chemistry for a Durg Class 12 student?

CGBSE Class 12 chemistry needs 23 marks in the 70-mark theory paper and 10 in the 30-mark practical, and each part is passed on its own. A strong theory score cannot make up for a weak practical, so a Durg student should keep the practical record complete through the year.

How much of CBSE Class 12 chemistry is organic for students in Durg?

Organic chemistry carries 33 of the 70 theory marks in CBSE Class 12 for 2026-27, close to half the paper. Physical chemistry carries 23 and inorganic 14. Electrochemistry is the single heaviest chapter at 9, followed by aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids at 8, so reaction chains need weekly practice.

Which CBSE Class 12 chemistry topics are no longer in the board paper?

CBSE has removed the solid state and Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block from Class 12 for 2026-27. Polymers, surface chemistry, chemistry in everyday life and the isolation of elements are assessed in school instead. Durg students preparing for NEET or JEE should still check the NTA syllabus before dropping any topic.

What is in the CBSE Class 12 chemistry practical this session?

The CBSE practical gives 8 marks to volumetric analysis, 8 to salt analysis, 6 to a theory-linked experiment, 4 to the project and 4 to the record and viva. The titration uses potassium permanganate against oxalic acid or Mohr's salt, with each student preparing the standard solution. A Durg tutor can rehearse calculations and viva points at home.

How should families in Pachri Para, Shitala Nagar or Civil Lines guide a chemistry tutor?

Families should share the lane, a landmark and the nearest chowk before the first lesson. In Pachri Para, describe the lane and your gate or door. Shitala Nagar is also spelt Shitla Nagar, so use the familiar spelling. In Civil Lines, give the road name and a clear landmark, and plan lessons around office hours.

How can a home chemistry tutor fit around NEET or JEE classes in Durg?

A home chemistry tutor in Durg should stay a step behind the class and consolidate. A useful week has recall with the book closed, one numerical checked line by line, an organic route map redrawn from memory, and two explain-why answers marked before the lesson ends, so board writing keeps pace with objective practice.

Why should a Durg student repair Class 11 chemistry before Class 12?

Class 12 chemistry builds on Class 11, so old gaps cost marks again later. The mole concept, equilibrium and early organic chemistry return in solutions, electrochemistry and every reaction sequence. One term of repair in Class 11 is much easier than patching weak foundations during the board year in Durg.
