Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Lucknow's commerce students arrive at accountancy from very different schools: CISCE schools with a long history in the city, CBSE schools, UP Board schools teaching in Hindi or English, and a smaller group in IB or Cambridge programmes. Of all the commerce subjects, Accountancy is the one most students find hardest, and Class 11 decides how Class 12 goes. A tutor who suits one of those students may be wrong for another, so NXTutors matches board, class and medium together before looking at locality and travel. This NXTutors Academic Team guide deals with the Lucknow side; the full course content is on our national accountancy home tutor page.
| Board | Subject and structure | The decision that shapes tutoring |
|---|---|---|
| CISCE (ISC) | Accounts 858: 80-mark paper (20 compulsory short-answer marks, then 12-mark questions) and two 10-mark projects each year | Class 12 Section B (analysis and cash flow) or Section C (computerised accounting) |
| CISCE (ISC) | Commerce 857: descriptive, same paper pattern as Accounts | Whether Commerce also needs support |
| CBSE | Accountancy 055: 80 theory + 20 project marks each year; Class 12 Part A is partnership 36 and companies 24 | Financial Statement Analysis or Computerised Accounting in Class 12 |
| UP Board | Its own Class 11–12 commerce syllabus, books and paper, in Hindi or English medium | The medium, and the exact prescribed book |
| Cambridge | IGCSE Accounting 0452 (two papers, untiered); AS & A Level 9706, with a separate cost and management accounting paper | Whether the tutor has taught costing at A Level depth |
| IB Diploma | No standalone accounting course; Business Management and Economics sit nearby | Which course and unit the help is for |
Because 60 of the 80 ISC marks come from long 12-mark questions, ISC students gain most from timed, complete answers. CBSE students face a design in which about 30% of marks test analysis and evaluation, so a tutor should mix unfamiliar questions into practice rather than repeating textbook solutions.
Many Lucknow families are in UP Board schools. We describe the board's commerce stream only in general terms: it sets its own Class 11 and 12 syllabus, prescribes the books, writes its own paper and publishes its own notices, and the current scheme should always be checked on the board's official website. The tutor's material should be your child's prescribed book and the board's past papers, not a CBSE help book with similar chapter names.
State the medium in the request. A student taught in Hindi writes account titles, narrations and theory answers in Hindi, and needs a tutor who explains in the same vocabulary. A student in an English-medium UP Board school, or one moving to an English-medium college later, may want both sets of terms. Either is fine, as long as the tutor knows which from the first lesson.
In CBSE Class 12, accounting for partnership firms is the largest unit at 36 marks, and in ISC it sits inside the compulsory Section A. Admission and retirement of a partner each bring a chain of steps: the new ratio, the sacrificing or gaining ratio, goodwill, revaluation, reserves and the capital accounts. One wrong link breaks the chain.
A worked case of the first link. A and B share profits 3:2. C joins for a one-fifth share, taken from A and B in their old ratio. The remaining four-fifths stays with A and B in 3:2, so A gets 3/5 × 4/5 = 12/25, B gets 8/25 and C gets 5/25: a new ratio of 12:8:5. Since both gave up in the old ratio, the sacrificing ratio is 3:2, and C's goodwill share is credited to A and B in that proportion. Students who mix up the new ratio and the sacrificing ratio here lose marks in every account that follows. A tutor drills this order until it is automatic and insists on a working note for each step, so that even a wrong final figure still earns method marks.
Most CBSE commerce students study Business Studies (054) alongside accountancy: a separate 80-mark paper with a 20-mark project, marked on relevant points, correct terms and application to a case. It overlaps with accountancy where shares, debentures and sources of finance appear, but it rewards writing rather than calculation. Tell us which subject needs the help.
For admission to central and participating universities, the NTA's CUET (UG) 2026 bulletin lists Accountancy / Book Keeping (code 301) as a domain subject: 50 questions, all compulsory, in 60 minutes, based on NCERT's Class 12 syllabus. A fresh bulletin comes out each cycle, so check the one for your child's year. Objective practice is best added after the board chapters are secure.
The Red Line runs north to south: its first section opened in September 2017 on the Kanpur Road side, and it reached Munshi Pulia and the airport in March 2019. The Blue Line through the old city was approved in August 2025 and is under construction.
| Zone | Route in | Arrange beforehand |
|---|---|---|
| Gomti Nagar, Indira Nagar & Chinhat | Red Line to Munshi Pulia, Indira Nagar, Bhootnath or Lekhraj Market; road for the Extension and Chinhat | A standing gate pass in the Extension's townships |
| Mahanagar, Aliganj & Jankipuram | Badshahnagar, IT College or Vishwavidyalaya stations in the south; road further north | Sector letter for Aliganj; a map pin for Jankipuram Extension |
| Hazratganj, Lalbagh & Aminabad | Hazratganj, Sachivalaya, Hussainganj and Charbagh stations, then a walk | Floor number and a landmark at the entrance |
| Alambagh, Ashiyana & Rajajipuram | Alambagh, Krishna Nagar, Transport Nagar or Amausi stations, then a short auto ride | A slot that avoids Kanpur Road's office peaks |
| Sushant Golf City, Vrindavan Yojana & Telibagh | No station; car, two-wheeler or cab via Shaheed Path or Raebareli Road | An entry pass for a regular tutor |
Aliganj is planned in lettered sectors of independent houses; the sector letter and house number get a tutor to the door. Kapoorthala has a busy shopping road with homes in the lanes behind; a tutor riding to IT College station avoids the parking problem.
Indira Nagar, a large colony of sectors and lettered blocks, has four Red Line stations along its length. Lalbagh is mostly flats above shops and in older buildings, with Sachivalaya station inside the neighbourhood, so a metro-riding tutor suits it well.
Alambagh mixes houses, floors and some gated complexes around two Red Line stations. Vrindavan Yojana, a township in numbered sectors on Raebareli Road, has no metro, so tutors come by road and a slightly later after-school start helps.
Our Gomti Nagar and Trans-Gomti tuition guide and central and south Lucknow guide cover each part of the city in more depth.
A tutor at the table sees each ledger entry as it is made, which is why home lessons suit Class 11 and the long partnership questions of Class 12. Online lessons work once the notebook is clearly on camera and homework photos arrive in advance; for Computerised Accounting or ISC Section C, a shared spreadsheet online is often better than a visit. Any Lucknow family can request an accountancy tutor, but we will not promise a specialist in your khand or sector. If the best match lives across the Gomti, or you are in a township with no metro, online or a mix of home and online keeps the lessons regular.
If the answers are mostly no, tell us and we arrange the next demo from your shortlist; switching later is free. Tutors who join go through an ID check before their profile is shown.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor's own rate is visible before the demo; our Lucknow home tuition fees guide explains the range.
Tell us the class, board and medium, the option the school teaches, the chapters that worry you, your locality with its khand, sector or block, free times, home or online, and a budget. We suggest two or three tutors and you choose one for the free demo class. Browse by locality on the Lucknow page; commerce teachers can see open requests on Lucknow tuition jobs.
Commerce students usually need economics too: see our economics tutors in Lucknow. For the wider board, read CBSE tutors in Lucknow and ICSE and ISC tutors in Lucknow; for theory answers, English tutors in Lucknow; and for commerce with maths, maths tutors in Lucknow. If Class 11 subjects are still undecided, our stream-choice guide and Class 11 tutor page explain the options.

Yes, you can request one. Tell us the class and that the school teaches in Hindi. We look for a tutor who works from the UP Board prescribed book and past papers and explains account titles, narrations and theory in the Hindi terms your child will write in the board exam.
In CBSE it is the largest Class 12 unit, worth 36 marks, and in ISC it falls in the compulsory section. Admission and retirement questions are long chains of steps, so one early error, such as a wrong sacrificing ratio, spreads through every account. Working notes for each step protect method marks.
Any Lucknow family can request one, wherever they live. We match on board, class and medium first, then look for a tutor who can reach your khand or sector at your chosen time. Near a Red Line station the choice is wider; across the river, online lessons are a sensible fallback.
Accounts is numerical: journals, ledgers, final accounts, partnership and company accounts, with a choice of Section B or C in Class 12. Commerce is descriptive, covering business organisation, trade, finance, management and marketing. Both use the same paper pattern, so a student may need help with one or both.
They work well once the notebook is clearly visible and homework photos arrive before the session. For Computerised Accounting or ISC Section C, online with a shared spreadsheet is often easier than a home visit. For townships with no metro, such as Vrindavan Yojana, online also keeps lessons regular.
Yes, once the board syllabus is secure. The NTA's CUET (UG) 2026 bulletin lists Accountancy / Book Keeping as a domain subject with 50 compulsory questions in 60 minutes, based on NCERT's Class 12 syllabus. A tutor adds timed objective practice. Check the bulletin for the year your child applies.
