Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Chemistry asks three different things of a senior student: numerical care in physical chemistry, organised memory in inorganic, and step-by-step reasoning in organic. A child can be strong in one and quietly losing marks in another, and the gap usually traces back to Class 11. A chemistry home tutor in Lucknow should know where the board marks sit, what NEET or JEE adds, and how to reach a home in the old city lanes as easily as one in a new sector. NXTutors sends two or three chemistry tutors suited to your child's course and neighbourhood. Fees are listed before you meet, and the first class is a free demo.
CBSE sets chemistry marks chapter by chapter, which makes planning unusually precise. Schools choose their own teaching order, but a tutor can still group the ten chapters into four blocks for revision and weekly practice:
| Block | Chapters (marks) | Block total | How to practise |
|---|---|---|---|
| Physical | Solutions (7), Electrochemistry (9), Chemical Kinetics (7) | 23 | Numericals with units on every line, twice a week |
| Inorganic | The d- and f-Block Elements (7), Coordination Compounds (7) | 14 | Trends and naming, recalled on paper from memory |
| Organic, first half | Haloalkanes and Haloarenes (6), Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers (6) | 12 | Mechanisms written arrow by arrow |
| Organic, second half | Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids (8), Amines (6), Biomolecules (7) | 21 | Conversion chains and a growing reaction map |
Organic chemistry adds up to 33 of the 70 theory marks, so it needs steady attention from the first month rather than a rush before the pre-boards. Electrochemistry, at 9, is the heaviest single chapter and mostly numerical; aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids, at 8, is the heaviest in organic. Our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide works through every chapter, and the Class 12 chemistry tutor page shows how we plan the year.
Paper 043 is a three-hour, 70-mark theory paper of 33 compulsory questions in Sections A to E, with internal choice in some. Neither calculators nor log tables are allowed, so electrochemistry and kinetics numericals should be practised with numbers that work out by hand. Roughly 40% of the marks reward remembering and understanding; the other 60% ask a student to apply, analyse or evaluate. That balance suits a tutor who explains why a reaction or trend happens, so that a student can work out an answer instead of trying to recall it. The sample paper for this session keeps the design of the one before.
Mock papers are only useful if they are marked properly. Once a week, have the tutor score one section against CBSE's official marking scheme and label each lost mark: a missing condition over a reaction arrow, an unbalanced equation, a unit dropped halfway through a numerical, or a reason that stopped one step short. Retest exactly those items the following week, and keep the labelled list for the last month of revision.
Notes passed down from an older sibling are the usual trap. Two areas are no longer in the Class 12 syllabus at all: the solid state, and the p-block elements of Groups 15 to 18. Four others remain in the syllabus but are assessed only by the school, never in the board paper: surface chemistry, polymers, chemistry in everyday life, and the isolation of elements.
NEET and JEE Main are another matter. NTA publishes their syllabi separately, and material the board has dropped, p-block chemistry among it, can still appear there. A student aiming at an entrance test should check the official NTA list before skipping anything.
In NEET (UG) 2026, a single pen-and-paper test of 180 questions for 720 marks, chemistry supplied 45 questions worth 180 marks. JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 gave chemistry 25 of its 75 questions: 20 multiple-choice in Section A and 5 numerical-value in Section B. Both awarded four marks for a correct answer and deducted one for a wrong one. NTA confirms the pattern each year, so read the current bulletin.
The two tests lean differently. NEET rewards fast, exact recall of NCERT statements, so its practice is heavy on inorganic facts and named organic reactions. JEE asks for mechanisms followed through and physical chemistry problems in several stages. In both cases the order should be the same: bring a chapter to board standard, then add entrance questions on it within the same week. See the NEET chemistry chapters guide, the JEE chemistry guide and our NEET coaching or home tutor comparison.
Volumetric analysis and salt analysis carry 8 marks each; a content-based experiment 6; the project 4; and the class record with the viva 4. This session's titration uses potassium permanganate against a standard solution of oxalic acid or ferrous ammonium sulphate (Mohr's salt), which students weigh out themselves. The apparatus stays at school, but at home a tutor can drill the molarity working for the weighed solution, a tidy table of burette readings, the sequence of preliminary and confirmatory tests in salt analysis with a reason for each, and viva questions such as why permanganate needs no separate indicator.
Old market lanes, planned blocks and newer sectors each call for different arrangements. Six neighbourhoods from four zones show the range; compare tutors near you on our Lucknow page.
| Neighbourhood | Part of the city | Nearest rail link | Detail to settle |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chinhat | East, on Faizabad Road where Shaheed Path meets it; long known for pottery | Malhaur and Gomti Nagar railway stations; no metro | Townships on the main road register visitors; late afternoon or weekends avoid the highway rush |
| Jankipuram Extension | North, a newer authority scheme in numbered sectors, still filling up | None nearby; tutors come by road | Send a map pin or a clear landmark for the first visit |
| Nishatganj | Between Hazratganj and Mahanagar, around a busy market | IT College on the Red Line; Badshahnagar railway station | Keep the class away from the office-hour rush towards Gomti Nagar |
| Aminabad | The old central market, with flats above and behind shops | Sachivalaya today; a Blue Line station is under construction | Car parking is scarce; weekend mornings or online sessions work well |
| Aishbagh | An older central area of historic and newer buildings | Aishbagh Junction; Charbagh is the nearest metro stop | Give a landmark near the door; avoid the peak on Aishbagh Road |
| Rajajipuram | West, a planned colony in lettered blocks A to F | Alambagh on the Red Line; Alamnagar railway station | A block letter and house number find the home; plan around evening traffic towards Charbagh |
Close to the board exam, if a route becomes unreliable, swap one of the week's home visits for an online hour with the same tutor rather than losing the session.
Yes, though specialists for these courses are fewer than CBSE tutors, so ask early.
If the only suitable specialist lives across the city, combine online lessons with them and a nearby tutor who checks written answers at home.
The mole concept, equilibrium and the first organic chapters are Class 11 work, and Class 12 builds straight on them. A shaky mole concept reappears as lost marks in solutions and electrochemistry; uncertain basics of organic chemistry reappear in every conversion question. A term with a tutor in Class 11 is usually far cheaper than a rescue in the board year. Parents can check progress without knowing chemistry: once a month, open the notebook and look for balanced equations with their conditions, units on each numerical line, and a reaction map that grows chapter by chapter. The Class 11 chemistry tutor page covers that year.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each chemistry tutor sets their own fee, which usually rises with the target exam and the tutor's experience at that level, and also reflects the evening journey to your neighbourhood and how many sessions you book a week. The same tutor may charge less online. Every fee is visible before the demo.
Share the class, the board, the exam that matters most, the branch where marks are slipping, your neighbourhood and your free evenings. You receive two or three matched chemistry tutors with their fees and pick one for a free demo class. Not the right fit? We set up a demo with the next tutor, and a later switch costs nothing. Where nobody suitable can reach you, we suggest online or mixed sessions. NXTutors works from Sector 66, Gurugram, and teaches online across India; our national chemistry home tutor page covers other cities.

Organic chemistry carries 33 marks, physical 23 and inorganic 14. Electrochemistry, at 9, is the heaviest single chapter, and aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids, at 8, is the heaviest organic one. The paper has 33 compulsory questions in five sections, with no calculators or log tables allowed.
Not by CBSE in 2026-27: both are out of the Class 12 syllabus. Surface chemistry, polymers, chemistry in everyday life and the isolation of elements are assessed only in school. NEET and JEE follow NTA's own syllabi, so entrance students should check the official list before dropping p-block chemistry.
Potassium permanganate against a standard solution of oxalic acid or Mohr's salt, which students weigh out themselves. Titration and salt analysis carry 8 marks each, a content-based experiment 6, the project 4, and the record with viva 4, so the molarity calculation deserves practice before exam day.
In NEET (UG) 2026 chemistry was 45 of 180 questions, worth 180 of 720 marks. In JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 it was 25 of 75 questions, 20 multiple-choice and 5 numerical-value. Both gave four marks for a right answer and took one away for a wrong answer.
Yes. They are fewer than CBSE tutors, so it helps to ask early. ISC answers need fuller explanation than a one-line reason, and the tutor should know your exam year's CISCE syllabus. For UP Board Intermediate, the tutor teaches from the prescribed textbook and follows upmsp.edu.in for exam details.
Yes. Most homes there are flats above or behind shops, and car parking in the market lanes is very limited, so tutors usually come by metro to Sachivalaya and then an auto, or by two-wheeler. Weekend mornings, or online sessions on busy market evenings, are easiest to keep regular.
It often pays to. Class 12 rests on Class 11 work such as the mole concept, equilibrium and basic organic chemistry, and weak spots there turn into lost marks in solutions, electrochemistry and conversions. Fixing them early makes the board year, and any entrance preparation alongside it, much lighter.
