Tutors who join go through an ID check. Tell us the class, board and your area: we share two or three matched tutors, each with their fee, and the first class is a free demo, at home or online.
Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Lucknow's school mix is unusually broad. CBSE is widely followed, CISCE's ISC has a strong and long-standing presence, many families study under the UP Board, and a smaller group takes the IB or Cambridge. Economics is taught in all of them, but an ISC Class 12 paper, a UP Board answer written in Hindi and an IB commentary are three different skills. NXTutors starts every request with board, class and medium, then looks at your khand, sector or block and how a tutor would get there. This page by the NXTutors Academic Team covers those Lucknow specifics; the subject in depth lives on our national economics home tutor guide.
| Board | Shape of the course | Typical tutoring focus |
|---|---|---|
| ISC Economics (856) | Three-hour, 80-mark paper: Part I of 20 marks, Part II of five 12-mark answers from eight; two 10-mark projects | Full answers to time, with diagrams |
| CBSE Economics (030) | Class 11 statistics and microeconomics; Class 12 macroeconomics and Indian Economic Development; 80 + 20 each year | Numericals and the project viva |
| UP Board | The board's own Class 11–12 economics syllabus, books and paper, in Hindi or English | Answers in the textbook's own terms |
| Cambridge IGCSE (0455) and A Level (9708) | IGCSE: two papers. A Level: multiple choice, data response and essays | Essay planning and data response |
| IB Economics SL / HL | Paper 1 extended response, Paper 2 data response, HL Paper 3 policy, internal assessment portfolio | Evaluation and the commentaries |
| CUET (UG) domain test | Economics / Business Economics: 50 compulsory questions in 60 minutes, NCERT Class 12 syllabus (2026 bulletin) | Speed and accuracy after board prep |
Sixty of ISC's 80 theory marks come from Part II, where a student chooses five of eight questions at 12 marks each. That rewards depth and timing over breadth: a student who can write five complete, well-structured answers with correct diagrams will outscore one who knows a little about everything. Class 11 covers basic concepts and the micro-macro distinction, Indian economic development and statistics; Class 12 covers microeconomic theory, income and employment, money and banking, balance of payments and exchange rates, public finance and national income.
A useful tutor sets one 12-mark question per lesson, under time, and marks it against a simple structure: definition, explanation, diagram, application. The two projects, 10 marks each, are marked on format, content, findings and a viva; a tutor can explain the economics and rehearse the viva, but the project must be the student's work.
CBSE Class 11 gives 40 marks to Statistics for Economics and 40 to introductory microeconomics; Class 12 gives 40 to macroeconomics, with national income worth 10 and income and employment 12, and 40 to Indian Economic Development. The project is 3,500 to 4,000 words, marked out of 20 including an 8-mark viva.
National income questions show why method matters. Suppose GDP at market price is ₹1,000 crore, depreciation is ₹100 crore and net indirect taxes are ₹80 crore. Subtracting depreciation gives NDP at market price of ₹900 crore; subtracting net indirect taxes gives NDP at factor cost of ₹820 crore. A student who writes only "₹820 crore" may lose marks even when correct, and one who subtracts in the wrong order with a slip loses everything. Writing each aggregate's name beside each step is the habit a tutor builds.
Class 11 statistics rewards the same care, plus a sentence of interpretation. Take five households with weekly incomes of ₹4,000, ₹6,000, ₹8,000, ₹10,000 and ₹22,000. The mean is ₹10,000, but the median is ₹8,000, and four of the five households earn no more than the mean. A full answer calculates both, then says that the median describes a typical household better here because one high income pulls the mean up. That last sentence is the "interpretation" CBSE asks for, and it is the easiest part to leave out under time pressure.
We describe the UP Board's economics course in general terms only: the board sets its own Class 11 and 12 syllabus, prescribes its own books and writes its own paper, and the current scheme belongs on its official website. For a Hindi-medium student, definitions, diagram labels and long answers should use the textbook's Hindi terms from the first lesson. Tell us the medium and whether an English-medium college is planned later, and the tutor can introduce English terms alongside without unsettling board answers. If your child also attends a coaching class, share its timetable in the request, so the tutor's slot sits before or after it rather than squeezing the evening.
IB Economics uses nine key concepts, including scarcity, efficiency, equity, sustainability and intervention. Its internal assessment is a portfolio of three commentaries on news extracts from different units, worth 30% at SL and 20% at HL; tutors may coach the skill and explain the criteria but must never write or rewrite the work. HL students also sit Paper 3, a policy paper built on data. Cambridge A Level essays are unstructured where AS essays come in two parts, so planning is the skill to teach. Families can see more on our IB tutors in Lucknow page.

Economics is one of the easiest subjects to teach online: diagrams on a shared whiteboard, news pieces open on both screens, essays annotated in a shared document. For IB, A Level and many ISC students that is enough, and it widens the choice to tutors across India, since we cannot promise a specialist inside your township or khand. Home lessons are still worth it for Class 11 statistics and for students who lose focus on screen. Families in the south-eastern townships, which have no metro, may find a weekend home lesson plus a midweek online one the most reliable arrangement.
If not, we arrange a demo with the next tutor on the shortlist; switching later is free as well. Tutors who join complete an ID check before their profile is marked Verified.

A Lucknow ISC student should prepare for Economics by practising complete, timed 12-mark answers, since Part II gives 60 of the 80 theory marks. Students answer five of eight questions there, so structure matters as much as knowledge. Mark each against definition, explanation, diagram and application; the two 10-mark projects end in a viva.
For Lucknow CBSE students, Class 11 economics gives 40 marks to Statistics for Economics and 40 to introductory microeconomics. Class 12 gives 40 to macroeconomics, with national income worth 10 and income and employment 12, and 40 to Indian Economic Development. The project is 3,500 to 4,000 words, marked out of 20 with an 8-mark viva.
A Lucknow CBSE student usually loses marks on correct national income answers because the working is missing. CBSE marks the method, so each step should name the aggregate, such as NDP at market price before NDP at factor cost. Writing only the final figure, or subtracting in the wrong order, can cost marks.
Yes, Lucknow families can request a Hindi-medium UP Board economics tutor by giving the class and medium. The board sets its own syllabus, books and paper, so the tutor teaches from the prescribed textbook using its Hindi terms for definitions, diagrams and long answers. English terms can be added if an English-medium college is planned.
A Lucknow family near Gomti Nagar can request an IB Economics tutor who has taught SL or HL, including the commentary portfolio and HL Paper 3. We cannot promise one lives in your khand, so online lessons, perhaps with occasional home visits, are often the practical route. Tutors may coach the commentaries but never write them.
A Lucknow economics tutor can often add CUET preparation once the board chapters are in place. The NTA CUET (UG) 2026 bulletin lists Economics / Business Economics as a domain subject, with 50 compulsory questions in 60 minutes on the NCERT Class 12 syllabus. Add timed objective practice, and check the current bulletin each year.
Economics is one of the easiest subjects to teach online for Lucknow students, with diagrams on a shared whiteboard and essays annotated in a shared file. That suits most IB, A Level and ISC students. Home lessons still help with Class 11 statistics and students who drift, and families in Sushant Golf City often mix both.
In a free economics demo in Lucknow, check that the tutor confirmed board, class and medium first, and that your child drew and labelled the diagrams. A numerical should be written out with each aggregate named. For ISC, the tutor should discuss choosing and timing Part II questions, and leave a concrete task for the week.
Tell us the class, board and your area. We share two or three matched tutors, and the first class is a free demo.
