What home tuition costs in Jalandhar

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Physics home tutor in Jalandhar: derivations for the board, speed for the entrance paper, care in the lab

Senior physics sets three tests: derivations and clean diagrams for the school paper, fast unfamiliar problems with a penalty for guessing in JEE or NEET, and a full record with a calm viva in the practical. A Jalandhar student in Class 11 or 12 rarely has time to keep all three in good shape, and that is where a home physics tutor earns a place: taking up whichever part is slipping, at an hour that sits around school and any coaching. NXTutors suggests two or three physics tutors for that goal and for your colony, you see each fee before choosing, and the first class is a free demo.

What should a home physics tutor actually take off your child's plate?

Not another lecture on a chapter the school or the coaching batch has just finished. The useful work is usually one of three jobs, and the family should agree at the start which comes first:

  1. Clearing the backlog. Problems from school or the batch sheet that were skipped, copied or got wrong are solved again, slowly, until the student can explain every line.
  2. Writing for the board. Derivations, labelled diagrams and practical preparation are things an entrance-focused class seldom marks. A home tutor can.
  3. Reading the tests. After every mock, the tutor and student go through the lost marks one by one: was it an idea not understood, a slip of the pen, or a question better left alone? That list becomes next week's plan.

If you are still deciding how much outside help to take, read JEE: a batch, a home tutor or both? and its partner piece, NEET: a batch, a home tutor or both?

Which physics papers do Jalandhar students prepare for, and how is each scored?

Physics in the exams Jalandhar's senior students take: size, marking, and the practice each one needs
ExamPhysics in the paperMarkingWeekly practice
PSEB Senior Secondary (Class 12)Set by the Punjab School Education Board from its own syllabusAs published on pseb.ac.inThe board's book, question bank and model test papers
CBSE Class 12 (042)Theory of 70 over 33 compulsory questions, plus 30 practicalNo calculator; derivations and diagrams credited step by stepOne full derivation and one case question
JEE Main (2026 pattern)25 questions, five of them numerical+4 right, −1 wrongA timed set, then an honest review
JEE AdvancedIn 2026, registration was limited to 2,50,000 candidates picked on JEE Main results; the organising institute decides the format afresh each yearVaries by yearMulti-concept problems, slowly at first
NEET (UG) 202645 of 180 questions, 180 of 720 marks, on paper+4 right, −1 wrongNCERT-level accuracy and fewer blind guesses

NTA writes its own syllabus, so a chapter dropped from a board list may still appear in JEE or NEET. Check the current NTA bulletin on nta.ac.in before your child drops a chapter. For chapter priorities, see JEE physics preparation by topic and NEET physics: the chapters that pay most; our physics tutors for JEE and physics tutors for NEET pages describe how we match.

How is the CBSE Class 12 physics theory paper built?

CBSE has not changed the paper's design for 2026-27. Its fourteen NCERT chapters are marked in four groups. Electricity and magnetism, from electrostatics through alternating current, takes 33 of the 70 marks, close to half the paper, so it cannot wait until winter. Optics together with electromagnetic waves carries 18; marks leak there through arrowless rays and misplaced images. The modern physics group (dual nature, atoms, nuclei) brings 12, mostly short numericals where units go missing in a hurry. Semiconductor electronics is worth 7, and notes from older years mislead here, because transistors and logic gates have left the syllabus.

The 33 questions sit in five sections:

  • A: sixteen one-mark items, twelve multiple-choice and four assertion–reason.
  • B: five questions of two marks.
  • C: seven of three marks.
  • D: two case studies of four marks.
  • E: three long answers of five marks.

Questions that need only memory are worth roughly 38% of the paper, so understanding carries the rest. The question paper supplies the physical constants; a calculator stays at home. Class 12 has a single main board exam, and cbse.gov.in has not yet given 2027 dates. For derivations that keep reappearing, see our Class 12 physics strategies, while the physics tutor for Class 12 page maps out the board year.

Can the 30 practical marks be prepared at home?

The apparatus stays at school, but most of the marking can be rehearsed at a dining table:

Two experiments, 14 marks (7 each)
One from each section. Practise the aim, the circuit or ray diagram, the observation table and what the graph's slope means.
Practical record, 5 marks
The record must hold a minimum of eight experiments and six activities, split evenly between the two sections, plus the project report. Finish it as the year goes, not in the last week.
Activity, 3 marks
Two or three lines on what was seen and why.
Investigatory project, 3 marks
Choose something small and real, so the student can defend it in their own words.
Viva, 5 marks
Practise answering aloud: why repeat a reading, what the slope tells you, which errors are possible and how to reduce them.

What should a PSEB Class 12 physics student look for in a tutor?

The Punjab School Education Board prescribes its own curriculum and textbooks and conducts the Senior Secondary examination. We leave its physics pattern to the board; the current syllabus, the structure of the question paper and the model test papers are all on pseb.ac.in. A family can fairly ask three things of the tutor. Lessons should be built on the PSEB textbook. Explanation should come in whichever of Punjabi, Hindi or English the student finds easiest. And if an entrance exam is also in view, the routine below should start in Class 11, not in the last term. Our Punjab board tutors in Jalandhar page covers the board across subjects.

What solving routine should a physics tutor insist on?

Whatever the board or entrance exam, the same four-step order turns a guess into an answer that holds up:

  1. A diagram first, with directions, forces or rays marked.
  2. The governing law named in words before any symbol appears.
  3. Substitution with units on each line.
  4. A final check that the sign and size of the answer make sense.

Alongside it, keep an errors notebook that both student and tutor write in. Each entry copies the question, keeps the first wrong attempt as it was, adds a single sentence on the cause, and ends with a clean solution attempted again after a gap of several days. Put this notebook, or two recent test papers, on the table at the free demo. A strong physics teacher will spot the step that keeps breaking down before giving any explanation.

ISC, IB or IGCSE physics?

  • ISC. Besides the theory paper, CISCE gives marks for practical work and a project. Examiners credit the argument written out, so a bare final number earns little. Ask which exam year's syllabus the tutor will follow.
  • IB Diploma. Since the May 2025 exams, the course has five themes labelled A to E, with no options and no Paper 3. Written exams count for 80%; the student's own investigation counts for 20%. Details are in our guide to IB physics at SL and HL.
  • Cambridge IGCSE. Taken at Core or Extended level. Anyone switching to CBSE, ISC or PSEB after it should expect to strengthen vectors and graphs.

Name the course when you write; where no specialist can visit, an online lesson can carry the course work.

Why start in Class 11 rather than Class 12?

Vectors, graphs and the mechanics of Class 11 run through almost every Class 12 chapter and every entrance paper. Early help usually costs less than repair work in the board year. The Class 11 physics tutor page explains how we match for that year, and families still weighing subjects can read about picking a Class 11 stream.

Where does the physics lesson happen, and how does the tutor find you?

Class 12 days run long, and physics often lands after dark. A tutor who lives nearby makes that hour easier to keep, and if a batch runs late one evening, switching that single lesson to a video call saves the week. Compare tutors by colony on our Jalandhar page.

Off Nakodar Road and Model Town Road

GTB Nagar is an Improvement Trust scheme on Nakodar Road, and many families here first write to us in Class 11, just after choosing science; mention JEE or NEET at the start. Model Town sits beside it, so one tutor can often teach in both on the same evening. In New Jawahar Nagar, on the Model Town Road side, write the full name, because Jawahar Nagar exists in other cities too.

Along Garha Road and the Nakodar rail line

Urban Estate Phase 2 is the larger of the two Urban Estates on the Nakodar railway line side; put "Phase 2" first in the address so the tutor heads to the right side. Mota Singh Nagar is an Improvement Trust colony on Garha Road; name Garha Road as the turning, and if a younger sibling also needs help, ask for one tutor teaching each child in turn.

The cantonment

Jalandhar Cantt has its own Cantonment Board, and entry rules for visitors can apply in parts of it. Check what a tutor will need and share it before the demo; if regular entry is awkward, online lessons keep the week on track and move with you after a posting.

For each zone in more depth, open the Urban Estate and Garha Road page or read the Jalandhar home tuition guide.

What does a physics home tutor in Jalandhar charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Each tutor fixes a rate. An entrance target pitches it higher than board-only work, and so do long experience with that target, a late ride across the city and extra weekly sessions. You will have every rate in hand before the demo; the Jalandhar home tuition fees article suggests what to ask about them.

What should a physics request to NXTutors say?

Five lines are enough: class and board; the main target; the coaching timetable, if any; the colony and a landmark; and the free evenings. Two or three physics tutors come back with their fees, and one of them gives your child a free demo. If the fit is wrong, the next one on the list gives a demo, and a change of tutor further on is free as well. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how we check tutors). If nobody suitable can come at your hour, we suggest lessons online or a mix. Our base is Sector 66, Gurugram, and we teach online in every state.

Our approach to physics everywhere is on the national physics home tutor page, and Jalandhar's chemistry and maths pages fill in the rest of an engineering-entrance week. Physics Home Tutor in Jalandhar: common questions

How much does a physics home tutor in Jalandhar charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Jalandhar physics tutors set their own rates, which rise with an entrance target and extra weekly sessions. Every rate is shown before the free demo.

What can a home physics tutor add if my child already attends a coaching batch?

A home tutor adds the parts a coaching batch rarely covers. That means re-solving skipped or wrong sheet problems until each line makes sense, writing derivations and diagrams the way a board examiner wants, preparing the practical record and viva, and going through every mock to sort lost marks by cause.

How are the 70 theory marks spread in CBSE Class 12 physics?

In 2026-27 electricity and magnetism carries 33 of the 70 marks, optics with electromagnetic waves 18, dual nature, atoms and nuclei 12, and semiconductor electronics 7. The paper has 33 compulsory questions in Sections A to E, no calculator is allowed, and transistors and logic gates are no longer on the syllabus.

Which parts of the CBSE physics practical can be rehearsed at home?

Most of the 30 practical marks can be rehearsed at a dining table. Two experiments carry 14, the record 5, an activity 3, the investigatory project 3 and the viva 5. At home a tutor can drill aims, diagrams, observation tables and graphs, keep the record complete, and run mock viva questions.

How should a PSEB Senior Secondary physics student in Jalandhar choose a tutor?

Look for a tutor who teaches from the Punjab School Education Board's own physics textbook. The tutor should plan from the syllabus, question paper structure and model test papers on pseb.ac.in. Ask whether they can explain in Punjabi, Hindi or English, and whether they build diagram-first habits for entrance exams too.

What share of the 2026 JEE Main and NEET papers was physics, question by question?

In the 2026 JEE Main Paper 1, physics had 25 of the 75 questions, five of them needing a numerical answer. In NEET (UG) 2026, physics supplied 45 of 180 questions, worth 180 of 720 marks. Both scored plus four for a right answer and minus one for a wrong one; check nta.ac.in for each new pattern.

Why should physics help start in Class 11 for a Jalandhar student?

Class 11 mechanics, vectors and graphs run through nearly every Class 12 chapter and every entrance paper. Fixing them early is usually quicker and costs less overall than repairing them during the board year, when school, practicals and any coaching leave little spare time each week.

What should GTB Nagar and Urban Estate Phase 2 families tell a physics tutor?

In GTB Nagar, an Improvement Trust scheme on Nakodar Road, give the house number, block and the road you turn in from. Mention JEE or NEET at the start. In Urban Estate Phase 2, write "Phase 2" first so the tutor heads to the right side, then the house number and block.
