Chemistry tutor jobs in Hyderabad

Chemistry is the subject every science student in Hyderabad carries into both entrance routes. MPC students meet it in the Engineering stream of TG EAPCET, BiPC students in the Agriculture and Pharmacy stream, and both meet it in the Intermediate paper and often in JEE or NEET coaching. That makes a dependable chemistry tutor useful to almost every senior science family in the city.

Joining NXTutors is free for tutors. You list your courses, set your fee, mark your zones and choose home, online or both. Here is how chemistry demand works in Hyderabad, where you will be travelling and how to win the demo.

Who asks for chemistry tutors in Hyderabad

The revised first-year Intermediate course from 2026-27, under the TGBIE circular, gives Chemistry revised textbooks, a 60-mark theory paper and a 15-mark external practical. The practical now matters in year one, so families value a tutor who can rehearse procedures, observations and the record at home even without a lab. For second year, the board's own scheme for that batch applies, and tutors should treat older patterns found online with caution.

TG EAPCET has 40 chemistry questions in each stream, among 160 one-mark questions in three hours, with no negative marking and a syllabus framed to match Intermediate. The paper is shown bilingually, English with Telugu or English with Urdu, and the English version is final if a translation is ambiguous. NEET has 45 chemistry questions with a mark lost for each wrong answer, and JEE Main 25; NTA sets those syllabi itself, so a tutor checks the current list rather than assuming it matches the board.

CBSE Class 12 chemistry gives organic chemistry 33 of 70 theory marks in 2026-27, with no calculators or log tables allowed. ISC, IB SL and HL and IGCSE chemistry add a specialist stream, especially in the western belt where many international-school families live. Most requests name one subject and one exam, so be precise about which you teach.

Where in Hyderabad the work is

Ameerpet, Begumpet and Punjagutta is the easiest zone to serve: Ameerpet is where the Red and Blue Lines meet, so a tutor living almost anywhere on either line can arrive without leaving the metro. The main road crowds with students and shoppers in the evening, and many buildings in the colony lanes hold several households, so ask for the floor and a landmark. Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills and Somajiguda range from large houses on the hill roads to flats in Somajiguda's lanes; the road number and house number get you to the door.

Further west, Chandanagar, Lingampally and Tellapur is MMTS country, with Chandanagar's colonies of houses and builder floors and Tellapur's gated communities that suit weekend or mixed home and online slots. In Gachibowli, Kondapur and Madhapur, towers log arrivals through a visitor app. A chemistry tutor who offers both modes can keep numericals and organic mechanisms at home and do inorganic recall online.

Plan your evenings around the junctions. Roads 1, 3 and 36 in Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills carry heavy office traffic; the Mehdipatnam and Tolichowki junctions crowd at office hours; and traffic near the Outer Ring Road builds as offices close. For students in Sainikpuri, Alwal and Trimulgherry, where the metro does not reach, a tutor living in the northern colonies or riding the MMTS to Alwal is the realistic choice, and a start after the evening rush keeps lessons on time.

What families in Hyderabad expect

  • Say which paper you teach: Inter first or second year, CBSE 043, ISC, IB, IGCSE, or EAPCET, NEET and JEE chemistry.
  • Rehearse the first-year practical, now a 15-mark external component.
  • Teach organic as reaction chains and mechanisms, physical chemistry with units on every line, inorganic with reasons.
  • Convert board chapters into timed one-mark EAPCET sets and leave no question blank.
  • For NEET and JEE, check NTA's current syllabus and train for negative marking.
  • Know the student's comfort language; EAPCET shows English with Telugu or Urdu.
  • Keep weekly slots that work around junior college and coaching.

How to get picked

Hyderabad parents shortlist chemistry tutors by fit, not by length of list. Name the course and the entrance exam in your headline, give the metro or MMTS station you live near, and say whether you take weekend home sessions with weekday online classes. If you can explain organic reactions in Telugu or Urdu as well as English, add that; some students find it helps when a point gets stuck.

In the demo, set one conversion chain and one numerical from the student's syllabus. Watch where the reasoning breaks, and explain it to the parent in plain terms. Then show how you would split a week between board writing and EAPCET or NEET practice. Further down, this page explains leads, credits and how you get paid.

Joining, leads and pay

Joining is free

Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.

Paid plans are optional

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.

How leads and credits work

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.

How you get paid

You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

Questions from tutors

Does first-year Inter chemistry have a practical now?

Yes. The TGBIE circular for 2026-27 sets a 60-mark theory paper and a 15-mark external practical in the first year, with revised textbooks. Check the board's site for second-year rules.

How is chemistry weighted in TG EAPCET?

Forty of 160 questions in both streams, one mark each, no negative marking. Maths or biology takes 80 questions and physics 40. Confirm details in the current notification.

Can I teach NEET and EAPCET chemistry together?

Yes, for BiPC students the chapters overlap heavily. The difference is marking: NEET deducts for wrong answers, EAPCET does not, so practise the two styles separately.

Which areas suit a chemistry tutor without a vehicle?

Those on the Red, Blue or Green Lines, especially Ameerpet, Kukatpally, Secunderabad, Uppal and LB Nagar. Use the MMTS for Chandanagar and Lingampally; Manikonda and Kokapet need road travel.

Do international-school students ask for chemistry?

Yes, IB Chemistry at SL or HL and IGCSE Chemistry. Confirm whether an IGCSE student is on Cambridge or Pearson Edexcel before the demo.

Can I take only weekend chemistry students?

Yes. List the hours you keep free and families will see them. Weekend home sessions suit long organic and numerical work, and many Hyderabad students with coaching on weekdays prefer them.
