What home tuition costs in Aligarh

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.

Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Chemistry home tutor in Aligarh: three branches, one steady plan for the board and the entrance test

Chemistry asks three different things of a senior student. Physical chemistry wants clean numericals with units on every line; organic wants reactions linked into routes rather than memorised one by one; inorganic wants trends explained with a reason. Many Aligarh students manage one branch and quietly avoid the other two until the pre-boards. A home tutor can keep all three moving each week, and can make sure answers are written the way the UP Board, CBSE or ISC examiner wants them. Give us the board, the class and your colony; our shortlist carries two or three chemistry tutors who match, a fee printed beside each name, and whichever tutor you pick begins with a free demo lesson.

How does chemistry differ between the board and the entrance tests?

The chapters are largely shared. What changes is the question style and what the marker rewards, and a student sitting two of these in one year needs a tutor who keeps both in view:

Chemistry in the exams Aligarh's senior students take: size, format and what gains marks
ExamChemistry in itWhat gains marks
UP Board Intermediate chemistry (Class 12)A 70-mark paper of seven questions, from one-mark choices up to five-mark answersComplete written answers, with at least 8 marks of numericals
CBSE Class 12 chemistry (043)70 theory marks over 33 compulsory questions; 30 practicalReasons in words, balanced equations, careful numericals
NEET (UG), 2026 patternA quarter of the paper: 45 questions, 180 marks out of 720, answered on paperPrecise recall of NCERT lines and reactions
JEE Main 2026, Paper 125 chemistry questions: 20 with options, 5 numericalReaction pathways and physical-chemistry problems in several steps

Both NTA exams used +4 for a right answer and −1 for a wrong one in 2026; the next pattern appears only in the new bulletin. Where to spend extra hours is discussed in our NEET chemistry chapters post and in physical, organic and inorganic chemistry for JEE. For tutors, see the NEET chemistry tutor page and NEET home tutors in Aligarh.

How is UP Board Class 12 chemistry set?

The UP Board's Intermediate chemistry syllabus describes a 70-mark paper of seven questions. The first is six one-mark multiple-choice items; the rest climb through two-, three-, four- and five-mark questions. At least 8 marks of the paper go to numerical questions, so physical chemistry cannot be left to chance.

Three points shape the choice of tutor for a UP Board student. Lessons should run in the medium your child will write in, with the Hindi technical terms used in the textbook where needed. Practice should come from the board's own model papers and question bank on upmsp.edu.in rather than another board's papers. And the practical work should be planned from early in the year; check the board's site for the current Class 12 practical scheme. For the rest of the Intermediate subjects, open our UP Board tutors in Aligarh page.

Which Class 11 units carry the UP Board paper?

The Class 11 syllabus for 2026-27 gives a three-hour, 70-mark theory paper and a 30-mark practical exam. The theory paper is laid out question by question: six one-mark choices first, then two questions of four two-mark parts, one of four three-mark parts, one of four four-mark parts, and two questions of two five-mark parts each. Again, at least 8 marks are numerical. The two organic units carry the most:

  • 10 marks each: organic chemistry's basic principles and techniques; hydrocarbons.
  • 8 marks each: structure of the atom; equilibrium.
  • 7 marks each: some basic concepts; classification and periodicity; chemical bonding and molecular structure; redox reactions.
  • 6 marks: thermodynamics.

Mole calculations, equilibrium and the basic organic ideas come straight back in Class 12 solutions, electrochemistry and conversions, and in every entrance paper. Fixing them in Class 11 costs a term; fixing them in Class 12 costs the board year. See the Class 11 chemistry tutor page.

How does CBSE spread Class 12 chemistry marks?

Because CBSE fixes marks for every chapter, the 2026-27 list doubles as a planning sheet. Sorted by weight, the ten theory chapters (out of 70) read:

CBSE Class 12 chemistry 2026-27, chapters in order of marks, and the branch each belongs to
MarksChaptersBranch
9ElectrochemistryPhysical
8Aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acidsOrganic
7 eachSolutions; chemical kineticsPhysical
7 eachBiomoleculesOrganic
7 eachThe d- and f-block elements; coordination compoundsInorganic
6 eachHaloalkanes and haloarenes; alcohols, phenols and ethers; aminesOrganic

Added up, organic is 33, physical 23 and inorganic 14, so organic conversions deserve the most weekly time, followed by physical numericals. The question paper runs from Section A to Section E, a few questions offer an internal choice, and the hall allows no calculator and no log tables. Roughly 40% of marks are for recall and understanding, and the remainder for applying, analysing and evaluating. Chapter-wise help is in our Class 12 organic and inorganic chemistry guide; the Class 12 chemistry tutor page describes a board-year plan.

Which topics has CBSE removed or left to the school?

Two parts of the old course are gone for 2026-27: the solid state, and Groups 15 to 18 of the p-block. Another four, namely polymers, surface chemistry, everyday-life chemistry and how elements are isolated, are still taught but marked inside school rather than in the board exam.

That list is for board revision only. NTA writes its own syllabus, and a chapter missing from the board paper, the later p-block groups for example, can still turn up in an entrance test. Compare with the NTA syllabus first.

What does a good week with a home chemistry tutor look like?

Home lessons work well a step behind school, consolidating what was taught rather than racing ahead. One lesson can hold four short parts:

  1. Teach-back. Your child explains, notes closed, what school covered this week; anything shaky surfaces in minutes.
  2. A watched numerical. One problem from solutions, electrochemistry or kinetics, solved aloud while the tutor follows every line; lost marks usually hide in a unit or a power of ten.
  3. The route map. A single page connecting alcohols, aldehydes and ketones, acids and amines, rebuilt from memory and compared with NCERT until each conversion is a road, not a fact.
  4. Board writing. A pair of "give reasons" answers, written and marked before the lesson ends.

Inorganic chapters suit rapid oral quizzes from the NCERT text, always asking why a trend runs the way it does. For NEET students, the textbook's exact phrasing is often the answer.

Can practical marks be prepared away from the lab?

Most of the thinking can. Under CBSE, the 30 practical marks break down as volumetric analysis 8, salt analysis 8, a theory-linked experiment 6, the project 4, and record plus viva 4. This year's titration uses potassium permanganate with either oxalic acid or Mohr's salt, and every student weighs the solid and makes the standard solution alone. On the UP Board, the Class 11 practical exam alone is worth 30.

With only a notebook, a tutor can still practise the molarity working for a weighed sample, set out a neat burette-reading table, rehearse the salt-analysis sequence step by step, and ask favourite viva questions, such as why permanganate acts as its own indicator.

What changes from one colony to the next for an evening chemistry lesson?

Six colonies on the north and north-east side of Aligarh show what to tell a tutor in advance. All localities are listed on our Aligarh page.

  • Dodhpur. Older houses, newer flats and some buildings with offices on the lower floors, along Dodhpur Road; say whether the way in is from the front lane or the back. Families with two children often book back-to-back lessons on one evening.
  • Dhaurra Mafi. Also written Dhorra Mafi and Dhourra Mafi, with nearby pockets simply called Dhorra. Use the spelling on your gate and name the turning off the main road; in winter, a daylight slot is easier for the tutor.
  • Civil Lines. Older family houses on wide lanes and newer apartment blocks; give the lane or colony name inside Civil Lines and a crossing that appears on a phone map.
  • Ramghat Road. A long road with homes on the side lanes; the stretch you live on, city end, middle or Quarsi end, changes which tutors can visit regularly.
  • ADA Colony. Family houses found by house number and any phase or block name, just off Ramghat Road; add the nearest turn from the road.
  • Quarsi. At the bypass end of Ramghat Road, with new colonies still filling in; share a phone map pin and the nearest chauraha so only tutors who can reach Quarsi regularly are suggested.

In pre-board weeks, one online lesson in place of a visit stops a difficult evening from breaking the revision plan. For local tips, read the Ramghat Road and Quarsi zone page.

ISC, IB or IGCSE chemistry: what should families ask for?

  • ISC: practical and project work are assessed by CISCE as well as the written paper, and a good answer explains, rather than restating a textbook line.
  • IB Diploma: offered at SL and HL and built around two themes, structure and reactivity. The investigation must be the student's own work; a tutor may only question and prompt.
  • Cambridge IGCSE: Core or Extended entry; the Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE comparison sets the two boards side by side.

Teachers for these courses are thin on the ground locally, so say which course it is when you first write. A common answer is an online specialist for the syllabus and a tutor from your side of the city to mark practice.

What does a chemistry home tutor in Aligarh charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Rates are the tutor's own and appear before the demo. When comparing, ask what share of each week goes to entrance problems against board writing, and how practical preparation will be handled. The Aligarh home tuition fees guide lists more.

How do you ask us for a chemistry tutor?

Five things make a good request: class and board; the target exam, if any; the branch where marks leak (physical, organic or inorganic); the answer-sheet language; and your colony, a landmark and the free evenings. You will get two or three chemistry tutors with their fees, and you decide who gives the free demo. A tutor who does not suit is replaced by the next on the list for another demo, and a change later in the year is also free. If nobody nearby can come at your hour, we set up online or mixed lessons. Tutors who join go through an ID check; the Verified badge appears only after the ID check is complete (how the ID check works).

Next to chemistry, Aligarh families often need physics or biology help as well. The national chemistry home tutor page explains matching, and families in the state capital can compare chemistry tutors in Lucknow. If you teach chemistry and live in Aligarh, the Aligarh tuition jobs page shows families near you; joining is free.

Chemistry Home Tutor in Aligarh: common questions

What does a chemistry home tutor in Aligarh charge?

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Aligarh chemistry tutors set their own rates, shown before the free demo. Ask how each week is split between board writing and entrance problems.

What do I need to tell NXTutors to get a chemistry tutor in Aligarh?

Tell us the class and board, any target exam, the branch where marks leak, the answer-sheet language, and your colony, landmark and free evenings. We send two or three matched chemistry tutors with fees shown. The first class is a free demo, switching tutor later is free, and online or mixed lessons are offered if nobody nearby fits.

How is the UP Board Class 12 chemistry paper set out?

The UP Board Class 12 chemistry syllabus sets a 70-mark paper of seven questions, beginning with six one-mark multiple-choice items and rising through two-, three-, four- and five-mark questions. At least 8 marks go to numericals, so physical chemistry needs steady practice. Check upmsp.edu.in for the current practical scheme and model papers.

Which units carry the most marks in UP Board Class 11 chemistry?

The two organic units carry the most in UP Board Class 11 chemistry: basic principles and techniques, and hydrocarbons, at 10 marks each. Structure of the atom and equilibrium bring 8 each, four units bring 7, and thermodynamics 6, in a 70-mark three-hour paper. A 30-mark practical exam sits alongside it.

In CBSE Class 12 chemistry, which chapter is worth the most for Aligarh students?

Electrochemistry carries the most at 9 of 70 theory marks, then aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids at 8. Organic chemistry totals 33, physical 23 and inorganic 14 in 2026-27. The paper has five sections with a little internal choice, and neither calculators nor log tables are allowed, so numericals must be practised by hand.

Should a NEET or JEE student skip chemistry topics CBSE has dropped?

No, not without checking the NTA syllabus first. CBSE has removed the solid state and p-block Groups 15 to 18 from the 2026-27 Class 12 board course, and leaves four topics to school assessment. NTA publishes its entrance syllabi separately, so a topic missing from the board paper can still appear in NEET or JEE.

How can a home tutor prepare my child for the chemistry practical?

A home tutor can rehearse most of the thinking behind the practical without a lab. CBSE gives 8 marks each to volumetric and salt analysis, 6 to a theory-linked experiment, 4 to the project and 4 to record and viva. The tutor can practise molarity working, burette-reading tables, the salt-analysis sequence and viva questions.

What should a family in Dhaurra Mafi tell a chemistry tutor before the first lesson?

Give the spelling of Dhaurra Mafi that appears on your gate, plus your pocket and the turning off the main road. Dhorra Mafi and Dhourra Mafi are also used. Nearby areas simply called Dhorra can confuse a newcomer. In winter, ask for a daylight slot so the tutor finds the lane easily.

Is Class 11 a good time to start chemistry tuition in Aligarh?

Yes, Class 11 is usually the right year to start chemistry tuition. Mole calculations, equilibrium and basic organic ideas return in Class 12 solutions, electrochemistry and conversions, and in every entrance paper. Fixing them in Class 11 costs a term; fixing them in the board year costs far more time and marks.
