English is the subject where Delhi parents are often least sure what kind of help they need. One family wants a child to read fluently and write neat sentences; another wants ICSE literature answers that reach the length the paper expects; a third wants a Class 10 student to stop losing marks in grammar and writing formats. A tutor who can listen, work out which of those it is and say so clearly is exactly what these families are hoping to find.

This page covers the English work Delhi families ask for, which parts of the city make sense for home visits, what parents expect from an English tutor, and how to be chosen. Joining NXTutors is free, and you set your colonies, hours, mode and fee.
CBSE English is the largest share because CBSE is the board most Delhi students sit. In middle school, parents want comprehension, grammar in context and writing tasks such as letters, notices and articles; in Classes 9 and 10, literature answers and the writing section of the board paper; in Classes 11 and 12, longer writing and literature. Tutors who rehearse with CBSE sample papers and marking schemes are easier for families to trust.
CISCE's ICSE and ISC have a sizeable Delhi following, and English is where the difference shows most. Both are long-answer papers, and English Literature carries prescribed texts, so a tutor needs the current text list and a plan for project work. Parents often say a child understands the story but cannot write the answer the paper wants; that is the gap to close.
A smaller group of families study Cambridge IGCSE or the IB Diploma. IGCSE parents name the paper, first or second language, or literature, and want practice against the official scheme; IB families want close analysis and essay structure, with assessed pieces kept the student's own. Younger children across all boards need reading, phonics and handwriting, and that work is almost always at home.
English for younger children is local work, so live close to your students or near the same metro line. Rohini, Pitampura and Shalimar Bagh in the north-west; Dwarka's societies in the south-west; and Laxmi Nagar, Preet Vihar and Krishna Nagar east of the Yamuna all have families within a short walk or e-rickshaw ride of a station.
Older students take English online readily, especially for essays and literature, so a Delhi English tutor can mix a few home students in nearby colonies with online students anywhere in the city. South Delhi's builder-floor colonies, such as Greater Kailash, Defence Colony and Lajpat Nagar, and the Lodhi Colony, Jangpura and Nizamuddin area, have families who often want weekend home sessions with online classes in between.
Delhi parents often struggle to describe the English problem, so do it for them. Before the demo, ask for any recent piece of the child's writing. In the lesson, read it aloud together, point out two things that work and one thing to fix, and have the student rewrite a paragraph there and then. Leave the parent with a one-line summary of what you found.
List your English work in the parent's language on your profile: 'reading and handwriting for Classes 1 to 4', 'CBSE grammar and writing Classes 6 to 10', 'ICSE and ISC literature'. Say which colonies you visit and that you teach older students online. Families see your fee before booking; see how you get paid further down.
Over the term, keep the student's written work in one place and show the parent how it changes. Literature students need texts revised one by one long before the exam; younger readers need a book they look forward to. If you teach in a gated complex in Dwarka or Patparganj, ask to be registered as a regular visitor so the lesson starts on time.

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.
You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.
Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.
CBSE English across all classes most of all, then ICSE and ISC English Language and Literature, with smaller numbers of IGCSE and IB English requests. Younger children need reading, phonics, handwriting and grammar.
