IB and IGCSE tutor jobs in Delhi

International curricula are a smaller part of Delhi's tuition picture than CBSE or CISCE, and it is worth being honest about that from the start. Most Delhi students sit CBSE, a sizeable group follow ICSE and ISC, and a smaller group study for the IB Diploma or Cambridge IGCSE. But that smaller group asks for something very specific, named courses at named levels, and a tutor who teaches them well can serve families across the whole city, at home on a metro line or online.

This page covers what Delhi's IB and IGCSE families ask for, how a specialist reaches them, what they expect, and how to be chosen. Joining NXTutors is free; you choose the programmes, colonies, mode and fee.

Who asks for ib and igcse tutors in Delhi

The IB Diploma combines final examinations with internally assessed work. Delhi families ask for named courses, such as Physics HL or Maths Analysis and Approaches, and for guidance on the internal assessment or the Extended Essay, which a tutor may give without ever writing the work. Read the subject guides through ibo.org before a demo so your plan matches what the student is actually assessed on.

Cambridge IGCSE and Pearson Edexcel's International GCSE reward exam craft: command words, the right tier, and past papers checked against the official scheme. Parents usually know whether their child is on Core or Extended and which board the school follows; a tutor who asks that first, and plans accordingly, earns trust quickly.

Because the group is smaller and spread out, Delhi families on international curricula often accept online or hybrid teaching more readily than CBSE families. A specialist can pair a few home visits with online sessions, so a student across the Yamuna or the Ring Road still gets weekly practice.

Where in Delhi the work is

Rather than looking for one international-school zone, think about which lines you can ride. A tutor on the Magenta Line can reach Vasant Vihar, Munirka and R K Puram, and Kalkaji Mandir, Nehru Enclave and Greater Kailash; one on the Yellow Line covers Green Park, Hauz Khas, Malviya Nagar and Saket; one on the Violet Line reaches Lajpat Nagar, Jangpura and Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Vasant Kunj has no station, so an auto from Vasant Vihar finishes that trip.

Requests also come from elsewhere: Dwarka's societies, the West Delhi colonies and the north-western sub-cities. For a narrow paper such as IB Chemistry HL or IGCSE Additional Maths, families there are often happy to go fully online. A hybrid plan, with a weekend home session and weekday online classes, keeps a cross-city specialist practical.

Timing for international students follows their own calendar rather than CBSE's. IB and Cambridge candidates face their May papers in the same weeks that Delhi's entrance students sit JEE Advanced and NEET UG, so spring is busy for every senior specialist. Internal deadlines for IAs and coursework fall earlier and vary by school, which is why families value a tutor who asks for the school's assessment calendar at the start.

What families in Delhi expect

  • The exact programme, course and level: IB DP SL or HL, AA or AI in maths; IGCSE Core or Extended; Cambridge or Edexcel.
  • Current subject guides and syllabuses read from the official sites.
  • Practice marked against official criteria and mark schemes.
  • A clear line on IAs and the Extended Essay: you teach skills, the student does the work.
  • Teaching to command terms and assessment objectives.
  • Comfort with online teaching, since many of these families are spread across the city.
  • A written plan after the demo, tied to the school's assessment calendar.

How to get picked

Come to the demo with a past question from the student's current topic. Mark their attempt against the official criteria, show where the marks are, and set a similar question. If the request concerns an internal assessment, explain early what you can and cannot do. Parents on international curricula usually know the assessment well and notice a tutor who does too.

On your profile, write your programmes as components: 'IB Physics SL and HL', 'IB Maths AA SL', 'Cambridge IGCSE Extended Maths and Additional Maths'. Add the lines or colonies you reach at home and say clearly that you teach online. Families see your fee before booking; see how you get paid further down.

Keep the family by reporting in their terms: criteria, components and the next assessment date rather than general praise. Plan around school deadlines, and agree up front how you will handle the busy weeks before internal submissions. A specialist who stays organised often becomes the tutor a family asks for again for a younger child.

Joining, leads and pay

Joining is free

Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.

Paid plans are optional

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.

How leads and credits work

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.

How you get paid

You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

Questions from tutors

How large is IB and IGCSE demand in Delhi?

Smaller than CBSE or ICSE. Most Delhi students sit CBSE and a sizeable group sit CISCE, while a smaller group study the IB Diploma or Cambridge IGCSE. Those families ask for precise courses and often accept online teaching.

Which IB and IGCSE subjects are asked for?

IB Diploma courses such as Physics HL and Maths Analysis and Approaches, IA and Extended Essay guidance, and IGCSE maths and sciences with attention to tier and command words.

Can I guide an IA or Extended Essay?

Yes, by teaching skills and discussing general approaches, but never by writing, designing or editing the work. It must remain the student's own.

Do I need to live near a particular part of Delhi?

No. Choose the metro lines you can ride and teach other families online. A hybrid plan with weekend home sessions works well for cross-city students.

Should I know both Cambridge and Edexcel?

List the ones you teach. They are separate qualifications with their own papers, so ask which one the student sits before planning.

Is online teaching normal for Delhi's IB and IGCSE families?

Yes, more than for CBSE families. Because these students are spread across the city, many accept fully online classes or a hybrid plan, which lets a specialist on one metro line teach students on another.

Is joining free for IB and IGCSE tutors?

Yes. Joining and onboarding are free, and the Free plan includes monthly lead credits. Paid plans are optional.
