Physics tutor jobs in Delhi

Physics is the senior subject Delhi families most often hand to a specialist. Once a student moves into Class 11, mechanics, rotational motion and the mathematics behind them leave many students who were comfortable in Class 10 suddenly unsure, and parents would rather have a physics tutor than a general science tutor. For a teacher with real depth in the subject, the city's size and its metro make it possible to teach students across several zones in one week.

This page explains who asks for physics tuition in Delhi, where those students are, what they and their parents expect, and how you get chosen. Joining NXTutors is free; you pick your colonies, hours, mode and fee.

Who asks for physics tutors in Delhi

CBSE Class 11 and 12 physics leads, as CBSE is the board most Delhi students sit. Requests name kinematics, laws of motion, work and energy and rotation in Class 11, and electrostatics, current electricity, magnetism, optics and modern physics in Class 12. Parents want derivations that the student can reproduce in the board paper and numericals solved with full reasoning. ISC students, from Delhi's sizeable CISCE following, need fuller written answers on the same ground.

Entrance physics sits alongside. JEE Main is conducted by NTA in two sessions in the first half of the year, with JEE Advanced for those who qualify, and NEET UG is held once a year. Most entrance students in Delhi attend coaching, and their families ask a home tutor to work as a partner: sorting the backlog of unfinished coaching sheets, reviewing wrong test answers, and rebuilding one weak chapter at a time. When coaching ends late, an online doubt session fills the gap.

A smaller group ask for IB Physics at SL or HL, including guidance on the internal assessment that the student must design and write, or for IGCSE Physics with its tiers and practical or alternative-to-practical paper. These specialists are easier to match online, since the right person may live anywhere in the city.

Where in Delhi the work is

The metro decides which physics students you can keep. Most physics tutors keep their round to two or three neighbouring zones on the same lines: Janakpuri, Rajouri Garden and Punjabi Bagh with four lines crossing them; Pitampura, Model Town and the North Campus side on the Yellow, Red and Pink Lines; or Saket, Malviya Nagar and Hauz Khas along the Yellow Line.

Senior students in Dwarka's societies and Rohini's sectors are numerous and well served by the Blue and Red Lines. East of the Yamuna, Mayur Vihar, Patparganj and IP Extension have gated complexes close to Blue and Pink Line stations. Wherever you teach, avoid planning a drive across the Outer Ring Road or Vikas Marg at office hours.

Physics students near North Campus, around GTB Nagar and Mukherjee Nagar, often find a tutor living within walking distance for school subjects, so a specialist there competes on depth rather than distance. In the older lanes of Karol Bagh and Rajinder Nagar, coaching crowds and scarce parking make the Blue Line the sensible way in. In Vasant Kunj, which has no station, agree whether you will drive or take an auto from Vasant Vihar before the first class.

What families in Delhi expect

  • Numericals worked in full with units, diagrams and the physics behind each step.
  • Derivations taught for recall in the board paper.
  • For coaching students, work from their own sheets and tests rather than a separate course.
  • Online doubt sessions with a writing tablet or camera on the notebook.
  • For ISC, written explanations to the length CISCE expects.
  • For IB, the IA criteria understood and the student's ownership of the work respected.
  • A fixed weekly slot that survives the board and entrance months.

How to get picked

Bring the demo down to one chapter. Ask for the student's last test, pick the physics question that went worst, watch them attempt a similar one, then teach the missing idea and set a fresh problem. Parents in Delhi often meet two or three tutors; a precise diagnosis makes you memorable.

On your profile, pair subjects with boards and exams: 'CBSE and ISC Class 11–12 Physics, JEE Main physics, NEET physics'. List the zones you can reach, and add online if you teach evening doubt sessions. Families see your fee before booking; see how you get paid further down.

Through the year, keep a short log of chapters covered and test scores, and share it with the parent every few weeks. When the first JEE Main session or the board papers approach, shift towards timed practice. Never promise ranks or marks; families stay with a tutor who is clear and steady.

Joining, leads and pay

Joining is free

Applying, onboarding, building your profile, the ID check and receiving matched requests on the Free plan cost nothing. The Free plan gives you 160 lead credits every month.

Paid plans are optional

Pro, Premium and Featured are optional platform subscriptions: more visibility, AI tools and more lead credits. They are never a fee to apply for a tuition. See tutor plans.

How leads and credits work

A family request that fits your subjects, classes, board, areas and hours reaches your dashboard. Opening the family's contact details uses lead credits, and the credit price is shown on the request before you open it. At most 5 tutors can open one request, and a request stays open for 7 days. Credit packs are there if you need more.

How you get paid

You set your own fee. When a family pays for classes through NXTutors, you receive 50% of the fee for home tuition in the first month and the full fee after that, and 70% of the fee for online tuition every month. Payments are held for 7 days, then paid out weekly. How you get paid.

Across NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more.

Questions from tutors

Is Delhi physics demand mostly JEE?

No. Many requests are for board physics alone, CBSE or ISC Class 11 and 12. Entrance physics for JEE and NEET is a large share too, usually alongside coaching.

How do I work with a student who attends coaching?

As a partner. Clear the backlog of coaching sheets, review wrong test answers, rebuild weak chapters and keep the board syllabus on track. Online doubt sessions help when coaching ends late.

Which zones are practical for a physics tutor who uses the metro?

Pick two or three neighbouring zones on your line, such as Janakpuri and Rajouri Garden on the Blue Line, or Saket and Malviya Nagar on the Yellow Line. Some colonies need a short auto ride from the nearest station.

Do Delhi families ask for IB or IGCSE physics?

A smaller group does. IB Physics SL and HL and IGCSE Physics specialists are often matched online, since the right tutor may live anywhere in the city.

Can I guide an IB Physics internal assessment?

Teach the skills, such as uncertainty, data processing and evaluation, but never design or write the investigation. The work must be the student's own.

When in the year do physics requests rise?

At the start of the CBSE session in April, when Class 11 begins, and again before pre-boards and the first JEE Main session. A student who starts in winter needs papers and technique more than new teaching. Confirm exam dates against NTA and CBSE notices before you plan.

Is joining free for physics tutors?

Yes. Joining and onboarding are free, with monthly lead credits on the Free plan. Paid plans are optional.
