Book a free demo classAcross NXTutors, most home-tuition sessions fall between ₹800 and ₹2,500 an hour; Classes 11–12, IB/IGCSE and JEE/NEET sit toward the upper end; specialists for IB HL or JEE Advanced can charge more. Tutors set their own fee, and you see each tutor's fee before the demo class.
Monthly example: 3 one-hour classes a week ≈ ₹9,600–₹32,500 a month (12–13 classes at ₹800–₹2,500 an hour). An example, not a quote: your tutor's own fee decides the real figure.

Our Ahmedabad city page puts it plainly: among senior subjects, accountancy is the one that troubles commerce students. The reasons are familiar anywhere (a new vocabulary, fixed formats, two-sided entries), but Ahmedabad adds two matching questions of its own. First, a GSEB student may write the paper in Gujarati or English, and the tutor has to teach in the same terms. Second, the Sabarmati splits the city, and a tutor who can reach Navrangpura easily may find Nikol a long trip. This page covers the boards, the medium, a sensible weekly rhythm, travel by zone and the free demo. For the full syllabus, see our national accountancy home tutor guide.
| Board | The paper | Deciding detail |
|---|---|---|
| GSEB (Gujarat board), Class 12 commerce | The board's own accounting paper and textbook; pattern in the board's notices | Medium of instruction: Gujarati, English or another |
| CBSE Accountancy 055 | Three-hour paper for 80 marks plus a 20-mark project, in Class 11 and in Class 12 | Class 12 Part B: Financial Statement Analysis or Computerised Accounting |
| ISC Accounts 858 | Three hours, 80 marks, with two 10-mark projects; ISC Commerce 857 is a separate subject | Class 12: Section B (analysis, cash flow) or Section C (spreadsheets, databases) |
| Cambridge IGCSE Accounting 0452 | Multiple choice (1 h 30, 30%) and a structured paper (1 h 45, 70%) | One untiered entry, graded A* to G |
| Cambridge AS & A Level 9706 | Two AS papers, then financial accounting and cost and management accounting at A Level | Whether the tutor has taught costing and budgeting at this depth |
The IB Diploma has no separate accounting subject; IB students needing "accounts" usually mean a Business Management unit, so name the course and unit. For wider board help, see our CBSE tutors in Ahmedabad, ICSE and ISC tutors in Ahmedabad and IGCSE tutors in Ahmedabad pages.
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board runs the state's Class 12 public examination, and its commerce students learn accounting from the board's own textbook. Schools on this board teach in Gujarati, English and other media. Ledger columns look the same in any language, but account titles, narrations and every theory answer must use the terms of the textbook your child studies from. A tutor who teaches in a different medium can leave a student translating in their head during the exam, which costs time and marks.
We do not set out the GSEB paper pattern here; the board publishes and changes it, so take any detail from the board's own notices. In a request, tell us "GSEB, commerce, Class 11 or 12" and the medium, and expect the tutor to practise from the board's past papers rather than NCERT exercises. A student who moves to a GSEB commerce class after Class 10 on another board may need a few weeks to settle into the new textbook and question style, and past papers in the right medium are the quickest bridge.
Accountancy is procedural: a method sticks when it is practised more than once in a week. The rhythm below is a starting point that a tutor adjusts after the first few sessions. Weightings are from CBSE's 2026-27 curriculum.
| Stage | Sessions a week | What fills them |
|---|---|---|
| Class 11, opening months | Two | The accounting equation, journal and ledger until entries are automatic |
| Class 11, rest of the year | One or two | The 44-mark accounting process unit, then final accounts with adjustments (24) |
| Class 12, first term | Two | Partnership firms, the largest unit at 36 marks |
| Class 12, second term | Two | Company accounts (24), then the Part B option worth 20 |
| Pre-boards | Two or three, shorter | Timed papers, theory answers, project file and viva practice |
Why give partnership a whole term? One small case shows how much rides on the first step. A and B share profits 3:2, and C joins for a one-fifth share, with the new ratio fixed at 2:2:1. A's share falls from three-fifths to two-fifths, while B's stays at two-fifths, so A alone has made the sacrifice. Any goodwill C brings in is therefore credited to A only. A student who assumes both old partners gave something up splits the goodwill between them, and every capital account after that is wrong. A tutor who makes the student work out the sacrificing ratio before any entry prevents the error at its source.
Two shorter sessions usually beat one long one, because the student has a chance to practise between them. If your child has not yet chosen commerce, the Class 11 stream choice guide and our Class 11 home tutor page explain what each stream involves; they were written for Gurugram, but the decision is the same in Ahmedabad.
CBSE commerce students usually take Business Studies (054) alongside accountancy; it too has an 80-mark theory paper and a 20-mark project. The overlap is real in Class 12, where Business Studies treats shares and debentures as ways to raise money and accountancy records the same instruments in the company accounts chapter. A student who sees both sides tends to remember each better. Still, the two subjects reward different habits, one precise and numerical, the other written and case-based, so if accountancy is the weak subject, a specialist for it is usually the better spend.
NTA's CUET (UG) 2026 bulletin includes Accountancy / Book Keeping (code 301) among the domain subjects, with 50 compulsory questions in 60 minutes set on NCERT's Class 12 syllabus. GSEB and ISC students should compare that syllabus with their own textbooks, and everyone should read the bulletin for the year they apply. Practice for an objective test is about speed of recognition, and it belongs at the end of the plan, after board answers are secure.
Any family can request an accountancy tutor. We start with tutors who can reach you without a long crossing, widen from there, and suggest online lessons when that gets you a better match.
Navrangpura, Paldi and Ellisbridge is where the Blue and Red Lines meet at Old High Court, so homes in Navrangpura are within a short auto ride of either line. In Satellite, Vastrapur and Bodakdev, only the northern half has stations, so Vastrapur is usually reached by two-wheeler, auto or BRTS. Prahlad Nagar, Bopal and Shela has no metro; for Bopal, a tutor already living nearby is the practical choice. In Naranpura, Gota and Chandkheda, the Red Line runs to Motera Stadium, so Chandkheda can also draw tutors coming in from Gandhinagar.
Maninagar, Isanpur and Kankaria is well served by rail: Maninagar station, the BRTS beside it and the underground Kankaria East stop. Say which is nearest to your home in Maninagar. In Nikol, Naroda and Bapunagar, the Blue Line's first stretch serves Vastral and parts of Nikol, while narrow lanes in Bapunagar suit a tutor on a two-wheeler. Shahibaug, Asarwa and Meghaninagar is easiest for a tutor already on the east bank.
Every locality is listed on our Ahmedabad home tuition page, with more commuting detail in the west Ahmedabad and east Ahmedabad guides.
Home lessons are the natural fit for Class 11, when the tutor needs to watch entries being written. Online lessons make sense for Cambridge accounting, for the Computerised Accounting option and ISC Section C, and for families in the south-western growth corridor or across the river from the most suitable tutor. During Uttarayan in mid-January, which our city page flags as worth planning around in pre-board season, an online week keeps practice going. Many Class 12 students mix the two: home for long partnership and company questions, online for theory and quick doubts. Our home or online tutor article helps you decide.
If the fit is wrong, tell us and we arrange the next tutor on your shortlist; switching is free. More ideas are in our demo class checklist.

Yes, Ahmedabad families can request a Gujarati-medium accountancy tutor for GSEB Class 12, and we ask for the medium on every GSEB request. A tutor who teaches in Gujarati uses the textbook's own account titles and theory terms, so your child is not translating during the exam. Take the current paper pattern from the board's own notices.
Two accountancy sessions a week suit most Ahmedabad commerce students in the opening months of Class 11 and through Class 12. The middle of Class 11 can drop to one or two, and pre-boards often move to two or three shorter sessions. Two shorter sessions usually beat one long one, because the student practises in between.
An Ahmedabad CBSE Class 12 student should prepare for whichever accountancy Part B option the school teaches: Financial Statement Analysis or Computerised Accounting. Partnership firms, the largest unit at 36 marks, and company accounts at 24 come first; the option is worth 20. Confirm it with the school before choosing a tutor.
An accountancy tutor can often come home in Bopal if the tutor already lives in Bopal, South Bopal or Shela, since no metro serves this Ahmedabad corridor. Most tutors travel by two-wheeler, and a weekly trip from the far side of the Sabarmati is hard to sustain. When nobody nearby fits, online lessons widen the choice across India.
Home accountancy lessons suit Ahmedabad students in Class 11, when the tutor needs to watch journal and ledger entries being written. Online suits Cambridge accounting, Computerised Accounting, ISC Section C and families across the river from the right tutor. Many Class 12 students take long partnership questions at home and theory online.
Yes, Ahmedabad families can request a tutor for Cambridge IGCSE Accounting 0452, an untiered entry graded A* to G. It has a multiple-choice paper worth 30% and a structured paper worth 70%. We look for tutors who have prepared students for these papers, at home where possible and online when that widens the choice.
Yes, Accountancy / Book Keeping is a domain subject in NTA's CUET (UG) 2026 bulletin, which Ahmedabad commerce students can choose. It has 50 compulsory questions in 60 minutes on NCERT's Class 12 syllabus. GSEB and ISC students should compare that with their textbooks, and read the bulletin for their own application year.
Partnership firms deserve a full term of Class 12 accountancy tuition in Ahmedabad, because one wrong first step, the sacrificing ratio, spoils every capital account after it. If C joins A and B and only A's share falls, any goodwill C brings is credited to A alone. A tutor makes the student work out the sacrificing ratio before any entry.
